About the project 

The proposed service Kineara aims to provide is a Community-Based Housing Advice and Support Service for lone parents living in TA (Temporary Accommodation) and to provide a prevented service that advice and support lone parents living in PRS and social rented accommodation, where their tenancies is insecure.

This service will address urgent housing concerns, provide essential advice, and offer tailored, intensive support for those with complex needs. The project will focus on delivering maximum reach through our outreach while maintaining smaller 1:1 caseload for high-needs cases.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate community -based housing advice and support worker. This role involves conducting community drop- in surgeries which will be delivered across Lambeth Schools, Children’s Centres, Community Groups, GP practices and

Housing Advice Surgeries offering face-to-face housing advice, legal support (where necessary), and signposting to additional service.

You will have experience of working with families and individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who has empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with clients and who thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of housing policies and tenants' rights, experience of delivering holistic support, be a solution-minded thinker, have a good understanding of strength-based approaches and be able work committing to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of work. To work as part of a team and independently, the roles require you to think creatively and use the resources around you effectively. 

Strong partnerships will be essential to the project’s success. Building on relationships developed through the Homeward consortium, you will work closely with local schools, Lambeth Council, children’s centres, community organisations, and legal advisors to ensure meaningful signposting and wraparound support for families.

The successful candidate will work with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. In this role, you will be working in partnership with community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to address their housing issues. The objective of the programme is to provide advice and support to clients who have problems related to their housing and to improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.

About the role

We are looking to bring on board a new Bid Manager who is passionate about Changing Lives’ mission and want to make a real difference to peoples’ lives. As a member of the Business Development Team, you will make the case to our funders so that we can secure existing and new business, in order to further support the communities we work with.

Together the Business Development Team work across all our delivery areas; Homelessness, Recovery and Addiction, Women and Children, and Employment. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join our fantastic Communications and Engagement Team.

The Westminster Floating Support Service, funded by the Westminster Council, offers vital housing related support that enables individuals to maintain independent living, regardless of their tenancy type. Our service is built on respect for each person’s unique cultural, religious, and personal identity, ensuring that everyone’s dignity is upheld. You will be part of a comprehensive network of professionals, working in partnership to offer seamless support. About you:

• Experience of supporting clients to carry out tasks such as budgeting, calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears and housing options.
• Experience of working in a client-centred support service working with clients presenting significant levels of need and risk, with an ability to devise and deliver on action plans through high quality risk management and needs assessment.
• A demonstrable level of experience and understanding of the range of approaches appropriate to working with multi disadvantages such as substance misuse, mental and physical ill health, dual diagnosis, challenging behaviour, risk of homelessness, offending, antisocial behaviour, social isolation, domestic violence, gang-related issues, young parents, leaving care and learning disabilities.
• The ability to work within a strengths and recovery-based model and engage and motivate people to move towards an appropriate level of independence and inclusion.
• The ability to be self-motivating and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need to ensure deadlines are met while maintaining work of a high standard.

Harris Hill are partnering with a fantastic charity, passionate about building better futures for people working in horticulture, in their search for a Caseworker based in the SouthWest.

The Casework Team deliver help services which include advice, information and support for people working across horticulture. The team provide generalist advice across areas such as social care, health, benefits, housing and employment, often having an area of speciality.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience undertaking comprehensive holistic assessments across outcome areas of health, wellbeing, self-care, housing, money, family, relationships, safety and crime
• Experience of measuring the impact of interventions delivered
• Experience of delivering advice to people, across areas of employment, money confidence, housing, social care, benefits and health systems
• Experience in delivering a telephone helpline or advice service in the community or on occasion in service users homes
• Experience of scrutinising complex information to produce concise reports, comprehensive case records and high-quality casework and associated correspondence
• Highly developed communication skills including, discretion and capacity to deal efficiently, and effectively with people experiencing traumatic or difficult circumstances and/or from different cultural backgrounds
• Experience of using interpersonal skills, including active listening and questioning skills to understand the needs of others, causal issues to inform case management plans
• Ability to interact and network with line managers, colleagues, volunteers, partner organisations, external agencies and service users
• Ability to work flexibly across geographical regions as required
