About the role:
Our Health team has an exciting opportunity for two people to join the team. One of these roles will be a permanent position focused in our North London TST team, and one fixed term appointment (12 months) to join our team in a Camden focusing on Mental Health, with an emphasis on improving the barriers faced by those experiencing homelessness when accessing health care.
As a Health Lead, your role will focus on developing and embedding SHPs health approach into the services the charity provides. It will involve working with and supporting those living within our hostels who have underlying health needs to access and maintain the health care they need. To complete initial health screening tools, create a health support profile plan for each client and to make referrals to and support them in engaging with the correct services (i.e. dentistry, podiatry). In this role you will complete health mapping and use this information to influence partnerships formed with external services to help overcome barriers faced by those experiencing homelessness.
The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality Disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role, include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients, supporting them to engage in health care support and see an improvement in their overall physical health.
About you:
To be successful, you will have:
- A knowledge of (or willingness to learn) about common health issues and the barriers to health access that people experiencing homelessness may encounter.
- Ability to find ways to engage and develop relationships with clients who may have a low level of interaction with and/or suspicion of services.
- Good understanding of local level health set up/services i.e. homeless health providers and teams.
- Confidence in working both as part of a team and independently.
- Skills and understanding of creating and monitoring support plans and record-keeping with regards to client support, safety and safeguarding issues.
- The ability to advocate for and coordinate access to health care for clients with multiple disadvantage.

We are recruiting a Policy and Campaigns Manager to take forward our work on household debt. This role plays a key part in our campaign to end the UK’s household debt crisis.
Over ten million people in the UK are now ‘overindebted’, meaning they are behind on bills or are finding their debt repayments a heavy financial burden. The crisis has been growing over the last decade but has increased dramatically because of the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis. More and more people are now borrowing to cover bills and essentials.
Our campaign combines community organising with national level campaigning and advocacy work to bring the voices of those most affected by the debt crisis to the fore in debates on policy solutions. You will use your policy and campaigning expertise to help ensure the people most impacted by problem household debt have a say in influencing the policies that affect them. You will work on issues such as the growth in council tax debt and bailiff use, the huge build up in energy debt as a result of the cost of living crisis and making insolvency policy and practice fairer and more accessible so more people can get out of debt.
You will be a key member of our household debt project team, working alongside the Head of Campaigns, Head of Policy and Advocacy, Digital Campaigner and Lead Organiser.
We are looking for someone with great policy analysis and advocacy skills, a strong campaigning mindset, and a passion for social justice. We are not expecting you to already be an expert in all aspects of the role or in household debt policy but are looking for someone with the potential to develop quickly. The Role
In your role as Area Manager for Glasgow you'll lead your dispersed team through in-person support visits, 1:1s, phone chats, team and individual communications, and virtual and in-person meetings.
During support visits, leading by example, you'll ensure Fundraisers uphold the charity’s standards, code of conduct, values and brand through their communication and display. You'll do at least one monthly recruiting shift with each team member, providing valuable feedback to Fundraisers and follow up individual action plans for all team members. At Evolve Stockwell, we recognize the importance of creating a strong foundation for parents and their children and our young unaccompanied asylum seekers to ensure that they are provided with tailored support on their path to independent living. Between you and your Team Leader you will manage 11 colleagues to deliver these key housing and support services.
Our young parents service is based across two sites as follows - Georgian Houses Stockwell where we house 20 young parents and their children; Keystone House (A lower needs service based in Croydon) which has 5 young parents with up to 2 children each. We support our young people, helping them to maintain their health during pregnancy, prepare for birth and develop childcare and positive parenting skills on their path to independent living.
The service team also supports 7 unaccompanied asylum-seekers, who live on-site in a building called Olive House. We support these young people to improve their independent living skills, through a range of activities, as well as working alongside other agency's to support each individual through the asylum seeking process. We also need to refer some of the young people to external agencies to enable them to support those with complex trauma.
The Stockwell site is a large one, with an independent nursery and fitness club using our facilities.
What will your responsibilities be as Service Manager?
You will have full responsibility for ensuring the effective operation of the whole Stockwell site with overnight night concierge services provided by our Night Concierge managers for you. We own and rent part of the site - King Georges House, which currently houses 40 women as part of the refugee and resettlement pathway in Lambeth. Whilst their support is delivered by The Single Homeless Project, Evolve lead on the housing management aspect via our internal rent and income team.
You will act as a general point of contact for day-to-day support queries for colleagues on shift and you will be expected to support and manage the Team Leader in the overall day-to-day management of the service whilst ensuring they hold key supervisory responsibility for the team.
The service has a team of 11 colleagues which includes two night support workers, and you will recruit, manage and lead colleagues to ensure they realise their full potential in their roles. This will include managing induction and probation procedures effectively, conducting one to ones, coaching, identifying and taking action on training and development needs as appropriate. The service has been established now for 18 months and we have recently become Ofsted registered so improving on the existing foundations and working with Lambeth Local Authority commissioners to establish Evolve as a trusted partner is a key responsibility.

WorkWell is an exciting new government/DWP initiative to get people back to work. As well as providing work placement support, it will also address and support any physical or mental health needs via a Mental Health Provider and Physical Health Advisor who form part of the team. The pilot in Surrey will be going live in December and aims to empower people to take control of their health, wellbeing and any impacts this is having on their employment. That’s where you come in.
This front-line management role comes with responsibility for the day-to-day management of staff and supporting the Service Lead with the running of the service to ensure we provide recovery focused delivery. Seeing that operational KPIs, outcomes, utilisation and voids, etc., are met will be vital too, as will ensuring data entry to MI & reporting systems is accurate, timely and in line with quality assurance requirements. Preparing information and reports, leading on positive risk management practice within service/location(s), ensuring timely reporting of incidents and accidents and generally acting as an ambassador in representing Waythrough – all are part and parcel of this attractive new role.
