We are seeking a Research Funding Officer (Research Impact) to work mainly on our Research Grant Programme. As part of our Research Funding team, you will support high quality and innovative research on the effects of diet, nutrition, physical activity, and body size on cancer prevention and survival, managing an international portfolio of projects and working closely with leading researchers around the world.
In addition to the Research Grant programme, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other Research Funding activities such as our Academy programme and work closely with colleagues across the Science department and with other departments such as PR & Editorial and Fundraising.
The Research Funding Officer (Research Impact) will work mainly on the post award phase (e.g. active monitoring of funded projects, liaison with our grant holders, supporting our Academy programme initiative and evaluation of the impact of our funded research).
You will have experience working in a fast-paced research environment, whether in academia or research administration/management. Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills are essential for engaging a diverse range of audiences. Additionally, you should possess a solid understanding of statistical analysis. A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or Nutrition is required, while a Master’s degree is preferred but not essential. An interest in science communication and social media is also desirable.

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. Job Purpose
· To manage the delivery of Young Marketeers in Newcastle in four primary schools
Background to School Food Matters
School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.
Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
Key Tasks include:
· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers
· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project
· Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations
· Schedule, organise and deliver
o One assembly in each school
o Two food growing sessions in each school
o One market trader training session in each school
o Market Day in the city centre in July for four schools
· Maintain accurate records relating to the programme

The Senior Digital Channel Manager will be a key digital leader, championing and driving the charity's fundraising, engagement, and brand awareness through effective digital marketing and email strategies. They will play a pivotal role in ensuring ARUK's online presence is cohesive, data-driven, and audience-centric, maximising supporter engagement and conversions.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Strategic Leadership:
· Digital Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive holistic digital marketing strategy that aligns with ARUK's overarching goals. Ensure digital marketing adheres to best practices in planning, execution, and reporting.
· Email Marketing Strategy: Create and execute a compelling email marketing strategy to cultivate supporter relationships, drive donations, and increase awareness.

A key role in the fundraising team, responsible for providing stewardship and support to Glass Door’s event & community fundraisers, while supporting the Fundraising Manager to achieve the team’s income targets.
What you will do as part of our team
Community and Event Fundraising Support
- Build and maintain relationships with community and event fundraisers, ensuring they are supported before, during and after their events.
- Support on certain fundraising, cultivation and stewardship events, including the annual Sleep Out and the annual supporter thank you event.
- Draft copy for, update and create community and event fundraising pages on the Glass Door website and promotional emails which can be sent through the Glass Door mailing platform.
- Support with identifying new prospective community supporters and assist with the development and fulfilment of targeted approaches.

- Manage the Glass Door Christmas carol concert, working with the Communications team to promote and market the event.

Other Fundraising Support
- Develop Glass Door’s schools giving programme, including designing engaging fundraising packs, writing successful charity of the year applications and delivering presentations and assemblies.
- Support on church fundraising, including delivering presentations to churches, attending fundraising events, promoting appeals and Glass Door events (e.g. Sleep Out) and liaising with church staff.
- Manage the process for soliciting, monitoring, thanking and recognising donations in kind, working with colleagues across the organisation.
Fundraising Administration
- Working with Finance and the Income Processing Assistant to ensure accurate and timely processing of donations, including scanning cheques, coding bank transfers and web donations, entering details in CRM database, banking cash, setting up Direct Debits, receiving in-kind donations and acknowledging/thanking donors via email or post.
- Create and update donor records on CRM, ensuring records are kept up to date, accurate and consistent at all times.
- Ensure all charity fundraising activity (including "in aid of" events) is compliant with relevant charity and statutory legislation and recognised code of practice.

The Fundraising Officer – Partnerships is an important new role within the Fundraising Team, acting as the face of the Charity and first point of contact for potential corporate supporters and other donors.
Leading on delivering Wonderseekers’ Curiosity Collective corporate fundraising campaign, this is your chance to develop your corporate fundraising skills to deliver a small, personal annual income target. Previous fundraising experience is a bonus, but not essential as support and training will be available. However, you must have impeccable interpersonal and presentation skills, be comfortable representing the Charity and engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders, be results-focused and willing to learn.
Working as part of a small, growing Team of experienced fundraisers, the Fundraising Officer - Partnerships will play a key supporting role to the Team, providing exceptional stewardship to donors. Whilst supporting members of the Team with research and pipeline development, preparing briefing papers and funding proposals and writing and implementing cultivation and stewardships plans, there will be lots of opportunities for personal development and the potential for promotion within the Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the rolling corporate campaign recruitment plan, including attending networking events, sending out partner packs, activity and preparing /delivering face to face pitches
- Co-ordinate the corporate campaign marketing activity, liaising with the Marketing and Communications team.
- Provide exceptional, ongoing stewardship to all members of the corporate campaign
- Monitor all grants and donations received, ensuring that these are acknowledged and thanked in a timely manner and assist with other stewardship activities
- Maintain and champion the fundraising CRM, Donorfy, providing administrative support to other users as required (training provided)
- Manage the fundraising inbox, ensuring that all fundraising enquiries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner
- Keep abreast of sector news / new funding opportunities and conduct other desk research to assist with development and management of the Charity’s funding pipeline/donor base
- Maintain the Charity’s fundraising asset bank, writing/updating ‘boiler plate’ copy for funding applications, assisting with the research and development of project cases for support and compiling case studies and evidence of need
- Assist in the preparation of cultivation plans, briefing notes and other cultivation activity, funding applications and supporting materials
Person Specification:

- Experience working within the corporate sector is desirable
- Experience managing a CRM is desirable

Role Overview

You'll need strong written and verbal communication skills to write engaging and inspiring content and messaging, you'll also be skilled at listening and responding to queries appropriately and be comfortable and effective at managing challenging situations.
You will have the ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines whilst taking ownership of problems to find a solution where possible, escalating to a manager where required.

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home although you will need to be in the office for two days a week minimum. We are recruiting a Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer to support the development of our policy and public affairs work in the UK and evidence-based policy for both our International and UK work. World Cancer Research Fund International leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe, the Americas and Asia and is responsible for cancer prevention science, policy, strategic and operational direction to the network charities.
We are looking for a candidate with a passion for delivering improvements to public health and cancer prevention through policy and public affairs, who has experience advising colleagues on political matter areas and the ability to maintain up to date knowledge on political issues. Experience of sourcing, scanning for, reviewing, assessing and analysing policy documents or legislation is also key.
You will have significant professional experience in a UK policy and public affairs environment such as a charity or working in parliament - preferably in health - and a Bachelor degree (or Masters degree desirable) in public policy, public or global health, or health policy (e.g. policies on cancer, non-communicable diseases, food, obesity, physical activity) or other relevant subjects, or a Bachelor of Law.
