We are looking for a Project Lead (peer support) who will manage all aspects of  a new project, from developing detailed plans and timelines to collaborating with our steering committee to define objectives and success criteria. You’ll take charge of volunteer management, ensuring adherence to policies, leading recruitment and training sessions, and providing ongoing support to our dedicated volunteers. By building strong links with the community and engaging with existing support groups and healthcare professionals, you’ll help to create a robust network for those affected by ovarian cancer. Additionally, you’ll oversee communication strategies, produce high-calibre progress reports, and continuously evaluate the project’s impact.  This project is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund

The role is a full time, 35 hours per week, 3 year fixed-term contract position.

We currently offer a hybrid-working model. About us

We are recruiting for a Legal Clinic Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Dickson Poon School of Law’s award-winning clinic, King’s Legal Clinic (‘the Clinic’).  The Clinic aims to improve access to justice and educate King’s students by providing free legal advice to members of the public through its Legal Advice Clinic; and working with local and international organisations on research and justice projects.

The Clinic is a busy legal office and learning environment.  Clinic staff work closely and collaboratively with law students (curricular and extracurricular) and a range of internal and external stakeholders.

About the role

The Legal Clinic Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of King’s Legal Clinic (‘the Clinic’), under the direction of the Clinic Director and Assistant Director. The Legal Clinic Manager has line management responsibility for the Legal Clinic Coordinator and Legal Clinic Administrator.

Daily Clinic activities include; supervising students in the processing of potential client enquires across the in-house Legal clinics; suitability and conflict checks with law firm partners; allocation of cases to student advisors and internal and external supervisors; delivery and organisation of the Clinic’s research and justice projects and training program.

The Legal Clinic Manager is responsible for ensuring the Clinic works smoothly, efficiently and is a positive learning environment and workplace for students and Clinic staff.

The role holder must have excellent organisational, IT, project management, and communication skills.  An ability to relate to and work with a diverse range of students, partner organisations and clients. The position is likely to be of particular interest to a well-organised, proactive individual with experience of working in and managing in a legal environment and/or Higher Education with good academic qualifications. A background in legal practice and/or process improvement work, and demonstrable interest in access to justice is desirable.

The role is a full-time or part-time (0.8 minimum) post, and you will be offered an indefinite contract. The role is based in King’s Legal Clinic (Strand Campus) and will require regular attendance on campus.  Some remote working is possible by prior agreement with the Clinic Director.

We’re seeking excellent Teaching Assistants who want to enjoy a completely different way of working!

Our Outreach Teaching Assistants and Teachers support students who aren’t currently able to attend school, for example because of mental or physical health needs or challenges in previous schools.

This is a mobile role which requires flexibility; you and a teacher will work from a designated space in the family home, or at a local library, and offer personalized education for each student. Our ideal candidate is inclusive and uses the child as the starting point to plan an engaging and suitable curriculum which helps each child to meet their EHCP outcomes and grow academically too.

We work hard to match the right student with the right teacher and Teaching Assistant; you may be an expert with students in a particular age group (our students range from 6 to 16), subject, or enjoy working with students who have particular needs such as SEMH, hearing impairments or Autism Spectrum Condition. Almost all of our students have EHCPs, though their needs are quite varied. Our students benefit from creative approaches to learning so you can have fun with how to you teach!

Because of their vulnerabilities and often disrupted learning experiences, our students need a caring approach and our work is underpinned by the principles of Attachment Theory. To flourish in this role you must care about children and believe that every child deserves the best opportunity to achieve their potential, whatever that looks like.

The ideal candidate will also be able to develop positive relationships with parents and carers. Experience working with students with SEND or in a Special School is advantageous but not essential. About the Role

You will be working in one of three dispersed properties within a multi-agency team of other charities in the same accommodation which will be based in Havering. It is a therapeutic service to provide young people with an opportunity to a fresh start. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to move forward from lifestyles which were impacted by gangs and exploitation and help them reach their full potential by identifying and reaching their aspirations, assisting them to move on successfully to appropriate independent living.

The Senior Progression Coach is responsible for contributing to the effective and safe delivery of the service on a day-to-day basis. You will hold responsibility for the safety and well-being of all clients, volunteers, visitors and staff in the service. You will lead in ensuring that the housing management is properly maintained and the service supports clients to sustain their tenancy agreement and develop skills and resilience.
