The Fostering Recruitment Officer will drive recruitment of Foster Carers across the area, innovating engagement and participation alongside the Fostering Recruitment Manager, in collaboration with the whole team.

Overall Duties of the Fostering Recruitment Officer will include:

• Working collaboratively across relevant teams to progress enquiry management
• Support community recruitment activity to create a consistent pipeline of carer applicants
• Facilitating a smooth application and assessment process for potential carers
• Undertaking essential administrative tasks relating to record keeping, creation of data for analysis, evidence for measuring objectives

The Fostering Recruitment Officer will be will be based within reasonable travelling distance of Merseyside, Cheshire West and Greater Manchester and will be required to visits potential new foster carers, attend face-to-face team meetings at least once a month and on other occasions for training and team wellbeing events.

An Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role and will be processed by TACT on your behalf.

Inclusion Specialist

We are looking for an Inclusion Specialist (term time + 3 weeks only) to join a team providing specialist support and interventions for children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) impacted by the Grenfell tragedy.

The Role

The Inclusion Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting children and young people affected by the Grenfell tragedy. Working within the Education Hub and local schools, you will help enhance learning experiences, provide tailored interventions, and ensure inclusive practices for children with SEN.

You will:

• Deliver one-to-one and group-based interventions, including after-school programs and small group teaching sessions tailored to specific learning needs.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to support the development of tailored learning plans.
• Work closely with families, schools, and community partners to provide holistic support for children with SEN.
• Act as a liaison between families and schools to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting children.
• Provide trauma-informed guidance to families, teachers, and school staff, focusing on emotional regulation and academic success.
• Support teachers in implementing inclusive strategies and differentiated instruction within the classroom.
• Facilitate restorative conversations between schools and families to strengthen relationships.
• Deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for school staff on SEN best practices.
• Create and distribute accessible learning resources and tools to support inclusive education.
• Regularly review pupil progress and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of children and families.

About You

About the Organisation

The Grenfell Education Hub will open later this year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub will provide educational support to children, young people, their families, and local schools.

Following a consultation process in 2023 and 2024, the hub will bring together a team of professionals, including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Coordinator, and a Family Support Worker. Their time will be split between direct work with children and families in the hub and supporting local schools.

The hub’s objectives are to:

• Provide high-quality educational support to as many children and young people as possible.
• Build the skills and confidence of children, families, and education staff in local schools.
• Develop strong relationships with those most affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
• Accurately assess its impact.

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated, flexible individual, who is passionate about working with young people around their sexual health. The postholder will conduct outreach, education, and training in several settings depending on the need of different young people. These could be educational settings, youth settings, community events, sports settings, clubs and pubs. You will target vulnerable young people, such as Looked after Children (LAC), those who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET), those who come from areas of high deprivation and high need, and those with other increased risk factors, as well as young people aged 13-15 who are not yet able to access online services. 

 As part of your frontline work, you will encourage young people to sign up for a C-card, and if aged over 16, register to Get It in order to order condoms and lube from the website. When appropriate, you will refer young people into appropriate local sexual health services for contraception, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing, STI screening and treatment.

Programme

METRO work closely with our partner Spectra to deliver sexual health services in the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Richmond, Merton and Kingston. In these Boroughs, METRO deliver the Come Correct free condom scheme (C-card), the National Chlamydia Screening Programme (NCSP) as well as Get It, an online scheme which offers condoms, lube, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screens.

METRO also delivers training and education, aimed at both young people and professionals working with young people, as well as community outreach and engagement to reach young people directly- particularly those who are most vulnerable to sexual ill health.

Hours: 37.5 per week.

Work pattern: Usually Monday to Friday working during office hours with occasional weekends and out of hours work, however we do operate very flexibly.

• Lead, manage, and inspire the Charity Support Services team, ensuring a high level of collaboration and providing the resources needed for effective performance.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the professional development of staff and encouraging innovative problem-solving.

Stakeholder management and reporting

• Engage with the Board of Trustees and external stakeholders on matters relating to financial performance and risk management.
• Provide regular reports to the Board, senior leadership, and key stakeholders on financial status, risk assessments, and performance against strategic goals.

Person Specification:

Education:

• Essential: A recognised accountancy qualification (preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Desirable: Management/leadership qualification or significant professional experience at a senior level in the charity sector.

Experience and knowledge:

Essential:

o A minimum of three years' experience in a senior management or leadership role.

o Proven track record of managing finance for a medium to large charity.

o Experience as a member of a Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational leadership.

o Expertise in financial management, including producing management accounts and monitoring cash flow for organisations with an annual turnover exceeding £2 million.

o Experience in business planning and long-term financial forecasting to support strategic goals.

The role:

This newly created position will expand the capacity of the organisation's communications team, supporting the Communications, PR & Events Manager in delivering engaging, high-impact external communications. The focus will be on managing the Charity’s digital presence, including its social media channels and newsletter to enhance visibility, engagement and public awareness.

The role requires a strategic, organised and creative approach to social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Vimeo and BlueSky. It will entail preparing and delivering innovative and compelling content in both written, visual and video production formats, which showcase the work of the Charity and its network of grantees. Using the latest platforms and technology such as Canva and InDesign, this role will help tell the important stories which emanate from the work of the charity, including publicising events, raising awareness and addressing interesting themes relevant to the work of the Charity and its community.

This role will also monitor and evaluate online engagement and will ensure there is a vibrant, creative and relevant tone across all platforms and mediums. They will also contribute to maintaining the website and newsletter, gathering stories from across the Charity’s networks and ensuring it is accessible and up to date with current affairs and events. Working closely with the Communications, Events and PR Manager, this person will be responsible for identifying opportunities to repurpose and amplify content across multiple channels to ensure the Charity’s media presence is maintained and enhanced both on a local, London wide and National basis.

Beyond digital communications, this role will support a busy calendar of events throughout the year, managing logistics from planning to execution, including navigation lists, booking venues, catering arrangements and on the day support and facilitation. This is a wide-ranging communications role with plenty of scope for development and growth, with the flexibility to be tailored to the strengths and interests of the postholder.

In addition to working for Charity, the post holder will also support the COO of the foundation in its newly developing communications work.  This will require working across 2 schools, and the Charity in collaboration with the communications teams across the Foundation. 

The person:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar social media or digital communications role, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector but equally having come from a commercial setting, where an active interest in charitable work can be clearly evidenced. Bright, engaging and intellectually curious, this person will have a natural enthusiasm for the work of the charity and the desire to be an active member of an office-based team, all working towards the same goals.

An outstanding communicator both in person verbally and in writing, this person will have a proven track record of running digital communications activities and social media campaigns and will be proficient in design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop and PowerPoint, although training can be given where necessary. The ability to tailor the tone of content for various platforms and to appeal to a wide range of audiences, both locally, London wide and nationally will be important.

The desire to learn new skills will be strongly evident in this person, they will relish the thought of collaborating with colleagues to grow their expertise and to share ideas on how to optimise delivery across the digital and social media space. Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail, this person will be a strategic thinker with the ability to plan ahead and to spot opportunities further down the line to maximise the impact and reach of charity’s work. A working knowledge of WordPress and website management will be very useful but not essential.
