Cornwall VSF’s role is to connect, support and promote the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.We have strong productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in Cornwall including a range of public sector organisations. We represent the VCSE on all executive Boards ensuring the VCSE voice remains clear and influential. We broker and facilitate VCSE partnership working through our strategic, thematic, and local alliances.

4.Through these, improve the services and support for people and communities in Cornwall.
To effectively engage with a diverse range of VCSE organisations and stakeholders in Cornwall. We will use a wide range of mediums for engagement opportunities. These include meetings, workshops, consultations, surveys, events, conferences etc. To strengthen our alliance-based model of engagement by expanding existing alliances and creating new ones.To bring the voice of the sector into the new integrated care area forums and community area partnerships. To bring together the VCSE sector around pertinent issues, so they can meet the needs of their beneficiaries and achieve their organisational outcomes. To advocate for the VCSE sector, amplifying its voice, increasing its influence, fostering collaboration and co-producing action.
Role summary
In this role, you’ll be a key member of our small leadership team helping to strategically drive engagement, and income generation.The right candidate will need to be highly resilient with exceptional political, negotiation and relationship development skills.This role includes shared responsibility for securing income that not only sustains our own charity but leverages in significant funding for the wider sector.
Through an integrated approach, the role-holder will be responsible for driving forward two key areas:
• Engagement: Leading the engagement team to enhance and develop our alliance model, a network of strategic relationships and opportunities to engage with our thematic communities and our stakeholders, increasing our influence and impact.
• Income development: Create opportunities to leverage significant funds into the VCSE sector, secure and extend our income and support funding our strategic plans.
Key Duties
We’re looking for a dynamic and inspiring senior individual to strategically lead our Engagement activities, bringing together key existing areas of work.The role will concentrate on two focus areas:
Engagement
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships at the highest levels with a range of key stakeholders such as current and future partner organisations, decision-makers and influencers.
- Raise local and national profile by attending external engagement sessions and networking opportunities both online and in-person, to build brand awareness and to expand the charity’s network of allies, supporters, and influencers, deputising for the CEO when required.
- Host/chair opportunities to engage with stakeholders of all levels on internally prioritised topics via alliance and learning events.
- Lead the team to mobilise activity to ensure presence at key community focussed events, ensuring we reach more people and engage them actively in our work.Ensuring we have the right level of engagement and the right people attend.
- Represent the organisation as appropriate to the VCSE sector, statutory sector, private sector organisations, professional bodies, and institutions deputising for the CEO when required.
- Be an active member of the senior leadership team, acting as spokesperson and steering the strategy within wider business plans for your respective areas.
Business Development
- Working with the CEO and Director of Operations, to create and deliver an income strategy focussed on meeting VSF funding targets and our aspirations around duration of contracts and grants.Ensure all opportunities to leverage funding for the wider sector are seized.
- Develop strong relationship with key influencers and decision makers within our statutory partner organisations.
- Working with the CEO to lead strategic business development campaigns such as securing second phases of funding for our key funding streams.Be a key face to put to these campaigns.
- Monitor progress against income targets, ensuring an agile approach to mitigating risk and channelling focus of the team in order to maximise return on investment.
- Work with other charity leaders and the strategic alliance to encourage sharing of ideas for income generation.
- Work with the senior leadership team to ensure business and strategic planning is undertaken for your team, setting direction and managing delivery.Contributing to organisational business planning and quarterly/annual reporting
Staff Leadership
- Lead and line management engagement staff and ensure their effective performance management and development through regular supervision sessions, annual reviews and learning and development.

Essential Criteria
- Proven leadership skills with experience of creating a positive, values-driven working environment in which equality and diversity are professionally managed, dignity at work is upheld and staff are empowered and motivated to do their best.
- Knowledge and current experience of engagement and income generation leadership at a strategic level.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of project management leadership, principles, and practices.

Summary
Our SEAS Advocates are responsible for the day-to-day running of activities across the South East Autism Support (SEAS) Programme run by Advocacy for All. Our funding comes from the Kent & Medway NHS and Local Authority Partnership Trust. We facilitate a range of support for autistic adults without additional care and support needs in the community, including the Touch Base Project (crisis alternatives) and All Together Autistic (peer support groups).
The SEAS Programme employs the principles of self-advocacy – supporting individuals to be independent and to have their own voices be heard in conversations around their health and social wellbeing. It is not our role to offer advice or to provide direct or representational advocacy to our members. Instead, we offer a safe, adaptive environment for supported self-help through information, discussion, and lived-experience perspectives. We are committed to fostering a strong sense of autistic identity amongst our community of members, with person-centred and co-created ways of working.
Each of our SEAS Advocates will work across all of our projects, with a blend of one-to-one and group facilitation. Advocates will offer supported time-limited self-help for a caseload of autistic adults at risk of crisis across Kent and Medway, both face-to-face and via phone/Zoom. They will also run regular peer support groups, with each Advocate taking responsibility for communication, facilitation, advertisement, and growth of the offer across a particular geographic region.
As part of a small team, our Advocates will be expected to work autonomously and use their initiative to adapt and expand the SEAS offer. We support our Advocates to maintain high levels of quality and consistency through regular supervision, team meetings, and our Autism-Forward Training (AFT) offer.

Advocacy for All is a locally rooted advocacy organisation with a strong history, which exists to give people a voice through one to one advocacy and self-advocacy groups. We believe that Bigger Voices = Better Lives.

Advocacy supports clients to express their views, assisting them in safeguarding their rights and ensuring that those who are particularly vulnerable or excluded have an opportunity to take forward issues that are of importance to them.
Autism-Forward Training (AFT)
We are committed to providing a professional, sustainable service for our members. As such, SEAS Advocates will be expected to hold, or be willing to work towards, a directly relevant autism- or advocacy-related qualification at Level 4 or above.
Advocates will be expected to identify a relevant course and educational provider, apply, and complete the course of study independent of their working commitments.
Advocacy for All will fund tuition fees and expenses up to the value of £2,500 p/a.
A temporary change of working pattern to 4-day working week while be considered for the duration of the training course by request.
We also provide a range of in-house training and e-Learning to support Advocates to develop new skills and maintain core competencies.

- Independent Advocacy Practice – Level 4 – City & Guilds
- Autism Studies – PCert – University of Kent
Geographical Responsibilities
You will have primary responsibility for arranging, facilitating, and growing the group offer in the following area:
West Kent - Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling, and Tunbridge Wells.
By March 2025, we hope to offer at least 2 monthly groups in each of these boroughs.
There will also be some travel outside of your area for 1:1 Touch Base project cases and to cover other groups, as required. We cover expenses over and beyond the equivalent of a return journey to your allocated office base.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To maintain a reasonable caseload of Touch Base interventions – offering 6 weeks of goal-oriented, one-to-one self-advocacy sessions to individuals across Kent and Medway both remotely (phone or Zoom) and face-to-face.

About the team
Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together five core enabling support functions - Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property and HR Delivery, where this particular role sits. The HR Delivery team partners and supports a wide range of organisational activities and provides advice and guidance to over 1,200 staff on a range of employee relations issues like employee engagement, recruitment and selection, reward, and recognition etc. We also manage payroll processes, ensure HR policies and procedures are developed and updated and play our part in organisational change projects and transfers. About the role
As a Resourcing & Talent Specialist, you’ll be responsible for supporting and delivering against our people sourcing strategy to reduce cost per hire and build our employment brand. This will involve providing end-to-end resourcing support and advice across a range of disciplines and levels and playing a key role in resourcing campaigns from concept through to delivery. But that’s not all. Job Vacancy – Regional Adviser
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is looking for an experienced, proactive and customer focused adviser to support the work of the wider Advice and Support team
The right candidate will enjoy and excel at managing their own diary and workload and would have significant experience of working in an educational, health or social care environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this role along with the ability to show empathy.
The post holder will be responsible for Kent and Sussex plus other areas as required and therefore must have their own vehicle and access to reliable broadband. A car allowance and mileage will be paid on top of the salary.

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation
The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.
Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year. Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million. Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.
The MCF was founded in 2016 following the merger of four charities that had operated separately since the eighteenth century.
Our Regional Advisers are home-based workers who are compassionate and dedicated to responding to the needs of Freemasons and their dependents in their area, providing essential support. They are professional and accountable, working independently but collaborating with volunteers, colleagues, and local agencies to provide an exceptional service on behalf of the charity.
Their main purpose is to visit and contact members of the Masonic community to determine their needs and to help them to access support from the MCF and other relevant agencies. Support is provided through a combination of home visits, telephone calls, or video calling.
The role also provides guidance, support and recommendations to office based staff processing applications for our extensive range of grants to support those in need. They form close and effective working relationships with local volunteers, providing support and guidance to extend our reach.
Main responsibilities
- Responding to/visiting freemasons and their dependents to:
- provide support and advice; and
- determine relevant support from the MCF or other agencies to meet their needs
- Face-to-face visits, video conferencing and in-depth telephone calls are required to provide extensive and detailed support.
- Production of accurate and comprehensive reports detailing agreed plans and all relevant supporting documents
- Liaising with colleagues within the department to provide guidance and support in processing applications for our extensive range of grants to assist those in need
- Ambassadorial role for MCF, liaising with other stakeholders, delivering occasional presentations and workshops to raise awareness of the role of the Advice, Support and Enquiries Team and support available from the MCF
