About the role
Advocates support people to express their views, understand their rights and make informed decisions. Much of their work is with some of the most vulnerable in our society who cannot speak up for themselves and have no family members or friends who can do so. Most of what we do operates within the legislative frameworks of the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Mental Health Act and NHS Health Complaints process.
We are looking to recruit a permanent multi-skilled advocate to join our Berkshire team, working a minimum of 21 hours per week, up to 37 hours considered, starting salary £23,314 per annum, pro rata.
The post is multi-disciplinary and will cover all forms of advocacy.
What we need from you
Putting people at the heart of what you do, you will work with people from across our communities. How you work will depend on each individual so the ability to communicate in a variety of ways, verbally and non-verbally, with clients and professionals, is key to success.
You may or may not have direct experience of this in your own life, or in another role, or have relevant qualifications but this isn’t a problem as we can offer training. We’re looking for people who are creative, flexible and organised, able to balance direct work with people with important administrative tasks.
As this role is home based with regular travel, mainly but not exclusively in the Berkshire area, you must be based in Berkshire or surrounding counties, you must have access to both a stable home broadband service, good mobile signal, a clean driving licence and your own transport as well as flexibility with working hours.

Job Overview:

The VCSE Strategic Lead for Living Well and Wider Wellbeing is an exciting new role that will be focused on ensuring that the VCSE sector has voice and influence so that Salford people are supported to live well, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
The role will be aligned with Salford’s Living Well programme and the city’s Mental Health Collaborative. These are the cornerstones of the design and development of innovative solutions to adult mental health provision in the City. As well as the alignment with Living Well, the lead will also focus on creative health, placed-based working, and physical activity.
The Strategic Lead will work across a broad spectrum of VCSE and public sector partners that design, commission, or deliver activities and services that support the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Salfordians. Living Well
Living Well is an innovative new service created and delivered by a partnership between START, Mind (Salford), Six Degrees, and Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust. A multi-agency team, collaborating to provide positive, humanistic, and safe experiences for those experiencing poor mental health who are unable to meet the threshold for community mental health services.
This post requires an enhanced level DBS check.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate extensive experience of building multi-sectoral partnerships and relationships, as well as having outstanding communication skills. They will also have a clear understanding of the VCSE sector, preferably in Salford, and mental health and wellbeing context across Greater Manchester.

The role
Our key priority at FareShare UK is to increase the amount of surplus food redistributed to the charities and community groups we support across the UK. Food partners (manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, importers, packers, catering providers, producers and others) are essential in helping us to achieve this, providing access to food and many other strategic resources. This crucial role will focus on working with our top food partners to maximise the mutual value in the relationship through strategic and structured account management. Our ability to meet growing demand and increase the amount of surplus food redistributed will be heavily influenced by the success you have in this role.
You will be the account lead for some of the biggest food businesses in the UK and will lead the Food Partnership Team focused on deepening and developing our most established food partnerships, maintaining food and funding from key accounts.
The role will see you lead your team to deliver a tiered and structured strategic account management approach of all top partners, coordinating colleagues across departments, including the Food Team, FareShare Go, Marketing, Fundraising, Network Operations and Volunteering teams. Skills and experience:

About the BSAVA:

The Supporter Development Fundraising Lead will play a crucial role. We are looking for a high energy, passionate fundraiser who is highly relational. You will work towards the income targets including regular, one off and mission pot donations. In addition, you will understand goals that work together with income, including acquisition and stewardship targets, applying your strong knowledge of the Code of Fundraising Practice across all our activities and ensure we work in a compliant way.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with fundraising methods including prospecting, research, making initial contact, and growing a connection to our movement through one-to-one conversations and other communications channels. We’re looking for somebody who is highly organised and able to deliver events from concept to finish. The client is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. One key aspect of this project is the ‘Shades Project’, which focuses on racial justice and faith, supporting schools and churches in developing a culture for all children and young people, regardless of racial background, to thrive and flourish. In response to the exciting growth of the Shades Project, they are looking to appoint a Shades Schools Worker, to support the growing opportunities for Christian discipleship, and to embed the Shades ethos, in primary and secondary schools and parishes in Bolton deanery.
The Shades Schools Worker will work with the Shades team, in primary and secondary schools, delivering Shades Collective Worship and Shades ‘Safe Space’ workshops. The role
Our key priorities at FareShare UK are to grow the food volumes accessible to the charities and community groups we support across the UK. Food partners (manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, importers, packers, catering providers, producers and others) are pivotal in helping us to meet these priorities, providing access to food and many other strategic resources. This crucial role will focus on working with our top food partners to maximise the mutual value in the relationship through strategic and structured account management. You will be the direct account lead for some of the biggest food accounts in the UK and you will lead part of the Food Partnership Team for managing and engaging new business relationships to drive and grow food and funding from top food partners.
As part of this role, you will lead the transition to a tiered and structured strategic account management approach of all top partners. Coordinating colleagues in the food team and other FareShare teams: FareShare Go, Marketing, Fundraising, Network Operations and Volunteering teams to ensure that top partners get an excellent service. You will work with the top food partners and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate identification of activities, and monitoring of progress, benefits and evaluation.
You will help identify and overcome the barriers to food redistribution and increase the volumes of foods available to FareShare from food partners and their wider supply chains.
Working with marketing and relevant teams you will develop sales materials to open opportunities for more food and other resources from top partners.
You will lead new business development for FareShare Go and work closely with the FareShare Go operations team to mutually agreed objectives. You will support the team to develop new opportunities to deliver the FareShare Go service to food partners including meeting tenders and developing compelling propositions for partners.
Main areas of responsibility
Business Development and Relationship Management
- Support the senior Leadership team by implementing and driving FareShare’s strategy to deliver the services that our top food partners want now and in the future.
