We have a busy challenge events programme and an active Family Fund community programme, with ambitions to grow this area over the coming years as part of our five-year strategy. Role Responsibilities
Strategy and planning
• Deliver the existing Community and Events strategy and maximise opportunities for income growth
• Identify and develop new income generating opportunities across Community and Events Fundraising, devising new events and engagement opportunities

Income growth, event and supporter management

Fundraising events management
• Manage delivery of the event portfolio to achieve financial and sign-up targets, delivering effective on the-day support for event participants. This includes ensuring our events are accessible for visually impaired participants
• Deliver excellent supporter care to ensure supporters are motivated to achieve (and exceed) their fundraising targets, feel valued and build engagement with us
• Key point of contact for high level event participants and community fundraisers via face-to-face meetings, phone calls and emails – providing timely and personalised support
• Support the Events and Community Officer with enquiries, applications and registrations for challenge events, ensuring high levels of conversion, and capturing relevant supporter data
• Support the Head of Community and Engagement, or other teams within Fight for Sight with the successful delivery of key special events, including fundraising gala dinners or receptions, virtual events and mini conferences, and third party or established supporter events.
• When required, support the Events and Community Officer in managing guest lists, enquiries, and ticket sales for special/major donor events and receptions, delivering a seamless guest experience and timely follow-ups supporter care and relationship management
Marketing
• Oversee all paid Facebook advertising activity for events, updating web listings, and utilising our networks
• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to raise awareness/increase recruitment across all activities, highlighting case studies and media stories
• Develop and deliver effective and engaging content, and materials for supporters to increase recruitment, retention, and average fundraising amounts
• Oversee the creation and delivery of quarterly events e-newsletter, plus additional e-blasts
Managing information and reporting
• Work with the Database Manger to ensure accurate records within our CRM system (ThankQ) and management of income from online and offline giving
• Carry out post-event evaluations, analysing supporter data help facilitate greater levels of income
• Support other areas by attending events, exhibitions etc. as required by a small team with varied responsibilities

Role Responsibilities
Sales and Profit
• Support Shop Managers to maximise each shop’s sales and profit potential.
• Oversee the delivery of Gift Aid targets throughout the area, driving Gift Aid signups and conversion rates, and ensuring shops are actively promoting the scheme.
• Conduct data analysis to review the commercial layout of each shop including department and category mix.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Finance and Accounting Lead will take on a leadership role and be responsible for the overall management of finance and accounting. The postholder will oversee all aspects of accounting, including the preparation of monthly accounts, bookkeeping, audit management, donor proposals, and budget management. The Senior Finance and Accounting Lead will ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures, including donor regulations, guidelines, and governmental compliance. Additionally, the postholder will oversee systems administration, strengthening and maintaining financial systems while identifying process enhancements where necessary.
To be successful, you will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, etc.) with previous experience leading finance teams in NGOs or organisations primarily funded by grants. You will have excellent knowledge of accountancy principles, along with budgeting and reporting processes. You will have experience leading the preparation of audits and the ability to present financial information to a wide range of stakeholders. You will be an excellent communicator, able to build relationships with funders, partner organisations, and colleagues. From a fundraising perspective, you will help drive our fundraising activities and ensure efficient administration using the newly acquired ‘Donorfy’ database. This includes leading on the stewardship of donors and community fundraisers, managing our fundraising CRM database, and working on small and medium-sized trust and grant applications. You’ll also support digital campaigns and new initiatives, to encourage sustained support for our work. You’ll directly help to secure the financial support needed to expand OTR’s services and reach more beneficiaries. JOB PURPOSE
The Fundraising and Communications Executive will play a key role in implementing OTR’s fundraising and communications strategies. The role involves planning, creating, curating and managing high-quality digital content across our website, social media platforms and email marketing campaigns. Furthermore, you will support key areas of our fundraising strategy, including trust and grant applications, horizon scanning and ensuring excellent fundraising administration across all areas of activity.
This position is instrumental in supporting the Head of Fundraising in developing and strengthening OTR’s income streams and increasing awareness of OTR’s services through effective communications.
Specific role duties
Supporting the fundraising strategy
• Lead on OTR’s donor and community fundraiser stewardship through excellent communication and effective relationship management.

Social media
• Working with the Head of Fundraising, CEO and Volunteer Coordinator and Business Support Officer, contribute to OTR’s social media presence by creating and scheduling engaging, accessible, and informative content that resonates with our audience and supports OTR’s mission.
• Monitor social media platforms to ensure timely and appropriate responses to comments and messages.
• Identify new opportunities to grow OTR’s social media reach, building awareness of our services, fundraising and outreach work.

Email marketing

Main purpose of the job
