At SSAFA Safeguarding is everybody’s business. This means that as awareness grows and with it the demand for additional support from those supporting our beneficiaries, we need to ensure the right level of support across the charity for those dealing with complex situations involving safeguarding concerns. We are therefore looking for an experienced social worker to work with our Head of Safeguarding and Social Work Services as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and help develop our response to Safeguarding concerns across the organisation.
In addition to this we would like the successful individual to provide social work support to our Stepping Stone’s home on a regular basis, supporting those women and children who have survived Domestic Abuse to move forward with their lives.
Your key responsibilities will include;
- Working with the Head of Safeguarding and Social Work Services to manage safeguarding issues raised within SSAFA or related to its work, and ensure the appropriate recording of concerns, decision making and referrals.
- Providing expert advice to the Organisation, employees and volunteers ensuring best practice in embedded into all new and existing policy and guidance.
- Ensuring that the Safeguarding Policy is adhered to across the organisation.
- Undertaking audits across the organisation into safeguarding practice and making recommendations based on the outcomes.
- Providing social work support to the beneficiaries of our Stepping Stones refuge, including maintaining case records and regular reports to the Director of Social Care Operations.

You will become part of the Social Care Operations Directorate, reporting directly to the Head of Safeguarding and Social Work and working alongside other parts of SSAFA’s specialist services, all of who are dedicated to ensuring that the Armed Forces, veterans and their families can thrive.

We are looking for an experienced social worker ready to take on a new and varied role within SSAFA. Ideally with experience of working within Domestic Abuse and/or Safeguarding and with knowledge of the legislation, policies, and best practices related to these areas.
You will also need excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, as well as a positive, flexible, and creative approach to problem-solving.

The goal is to help people prepare for independent living in their own tenancies. The Resettlement Worker will meet with each resident to assess their needs and agree goals which will help them achieve independence. Main Duties of the Post
Support Sessions
• To give holistic support to LGBTQ+ people accessing our domestic abuse resettlement service and to provide proactive support to these service users who are sometimes hard to engage.
• To meet face to face with service users regularly to provide structured support, in relation to LGBTQ+ and Housing specific issues, such as gender identity pathways, mental health services, health issues, safeguarding, liaising with the professional network.
• To work with LGBTQ+ people to develop and review individual support plans and risk assessments.
• To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.
Financial Support
• To assist service users in maximising and managing their income including universal credit, ESA, PIP and Housing Benefit.
Semi-independent Living Support
• To work with service users to enable them to develop the life and social skills necessary to sustain their accommodation and prepare them for independent living.
• To assess individual service user’s suitability for independent accommodation.
• To act quickly to manage incidents and to advise, support and assist service users unable to maintain supported accommodation into more appropriate housing options.
Resettlement
• To support service users in the completion of application forms necessary to support move-on housing, including the private rented sector.
• To ensure that all service users are provided with information about local services whilst in safe accommodation and during their move on.
• To ensure all service users are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities in their home.
• To work with housing providers, both public and private, to negotiate move on options.
Groupwork, Consultation and Participation
• To work as part of a team in developing user participation.
• To identify and develop appropriate and flexible processes for consulting with our service users, via social media platforms, newsletters, events and workshops.
• To devise innovative and creative ways of involving LGBTQ+ people in the running of the service with an independent approach.

This role is part of the Wiltshire Adult Domestic Abuse Team, which provides support to people and their families who have been impacted by domestic abuse.
Working within the team, you will work directly with victims of domestic abuse, providing them with support and educational sessions to increase their safety and the safety of any of their children.
Offering support to standard to medium risk victims of domestic abuse, key tasks will include:
- To provide high quality, person centred, trauma informed support to people impacted by domestic abuse.
- Being part of a team providing a whole family approach.

The role of a Step Down Worker is to provide ongoing support to IDVA clients where the risk has been reduced to a safer level or where a client is referred into the service as medium/standard risk.. The post holder will provide ongoing support which is bespoke according to need and will work in a trauma informed way providing holistic support to aid client's recovery from abuse. This post will be part of the male IDVA team and will work collaboratively with the IDVAs to manage case loads.

Manage a caseload of clients who have been stepped down from high risk IDVA support

Main purpose of the job
FearFree delivers services across the South West for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused and trauma informed support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
We are delighted to be recruiting for new specialist support workers for our holistic Behaviour Change services across Devon.
Working within experienced and committed teams, the Behaviour Change Advisor will:
· Complete specialist risk assessments (including Respect RIC) and develop personalised safety and support plans.
· Deliver one to one specialist behaviour change interventions.
· Co-facilitate short term and long term group work.
· Promote the service externally and ensure our interventions are accessible.
· Provide proactive, trauma informed and holistic support, with a focus on increasing victim safety and reducing the risk posed by a perpetrator.
· Work within a multi-agency framework to effect change, manage risk and ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children is paramount.
· Offer professional consultancy, training and advice to other agencies on working with perpetrators.
· To work collaboratively with Partner Safety Workers to ensure the safety of the victim is held central.
There is a requirement for evening working – approximately once per week to deliver group work interventions.

- To join the highly effective teams across FearFree to provide Behaviour Change support to perpetrators of domestic abuse.

The role of an IDVA is to address the safety of victims and survivors at high risk of harm. IDVAs work with their customers from the point of crisis by safety planning and risk assessing using the DASH to ascertain the level of risk to the victim.

FearFree delivers services across the South West for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
Following a successful trial in several surgeries, the Interpersonal Trauma Response Service (ITRS) is now being rolled out across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. This makes it a very exciting opportunity to take ownership and be part of an innovative new service, delivering real improvements to the local community.
The aim of the ITRS is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse. We provide adults whose health is being negatively impacted by interpersonal trauma with appropriate support. We also provide support to children affected by domestic abuse, and provide people who are using abusive behaviours with appropriate support and interventions.
Your team will provide appropriate training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry and response for patients. The Specialist Children and Young People’s Advisor will work within a multi-agency system to provide trauma informed, proactive, person-centered service for children and young people and their families who have experienced domestic abuse, empowering choice through informed decision making.
Our Interpersonal Trauma Response Service brings together dynamic, passionate and committed individuals who share a common focus on delivering high quality, person-centered and trauma informed support to patient’s referred by partner GP Surgeries across Devon. The team have a responsibility to work with multi-agency partners, building awareness and understanding of domestic abuse.
This is a fixed term role for 12 months.

This role will be to support the perpetrator intervention across Wiltshire.
You will be primarily based in Wiltshire supporting the Domestic Abuse Serial Perpetrator (DASP) project, providing bespoke specialist support to perpetrators of domestic abuse. The post holder will work as part of the IOM team within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure that clients who show abusive behaviour are supported through every stage of the process of change. Evening appointments are necessary for this post in Salisbury and Chippenham.
In addition, you will support the delivery of the CPR (Choosing Positive Relationships) Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP), which is an intensive behaviour change programme, designed to increase knowledge and understanding around domestic abuse, the impact on children and healthy relationships. The course teaches tools and strategies to help someone change their behaviour. The CPR group will require weekly evening work in Wiltshire.
The post-holder will be expected to work to Respect standards.

Client Based Duties
- Identify and assess the risks and needs of individuals who are abusive in a relationship or other domestic setting, using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
- Develop personalised risk assessments and safety plans for each service user.
- Advocate for individuals who wish to address their abusive behaviour and show motivation for change with agencies who can help to address the domestic abuse by:
- Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to those who are abusive and how your role fits into them.
- Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to individuals, including in relation to drug and alcohol, housing, health and finance.

In your role as a Community Keyworker, you will be working with women involved in the Criminal Justice System; those on Probation in the Community and those women being released from Prison as part of their Post Sentence Supervision; providing some in-reach and ‘Through the Gate’ support. You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide holistic one to one community support to women with a variety of needs.

The Minerva London service provides holistic, trauma-informed support for women in touch with the Criminal Justice System. We do this through offering dedicated one to one support, safer women’s centre spaces and specialist interventions and partnerships.
To be successful as the Community Key Worker you will need the below experience and skills.
You will be working in a supportive, friendly, and welcoming team whilst having oversight of a caseload of women, who may be under the supervision of the National Probation Service or in custody, enhancing the offer of holistic support and advocacy services available to them throughout their journey.
Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.
To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.
You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring a specialist women’s refuge, Service Manager. Someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our new service in West London. This role is an opportunity for a leader to support and manage a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma .
The service provides a much needed safe space and support for women to feel empowered in their healing journey and to feel secure in their independence, strength and skill. The successful candidate will support in leading the service which spans over 3 buildings and will develop their team which consists of support mentors and children and family workers. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way.
You will the have overall responsibility of your service and team, aiming to deliver a high quality, trauma informed service to your residents. Your role is to ensure full contract and regulatory compliance whilst being a role model/leader for your team to achieve KPI's and other requirements as per the service needs.
Shift/Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week in service Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you may also be required to work outside these hours as per the service requirements and needs. You will also take part in our on call service.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Line Management and Leadership
- Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.

- Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
- Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents.
Financial Management
- Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
- Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
- Maintain financial management within the service.
Other
- Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:

- Knowledge of the needs of women experiencing domestic abuse and will have strong leadership and team development skills.
- Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours

- Previous experience in people management and development
- IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.

Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The Helpline Manager will manage and provide support and advice to a team of Helpline Support / Case Workers and Helpline volunteers who will be handling calls. The role will also include occasionally providing helpline cover during staff shortages. The helpline supports women on more than 45 different issues with the majority of call related to various forms of violence and abuse as well as mental health and wellbeing.
The Helpline Manager will be responsible in ensuring that the service continues to be culturally sensitive and be able to respond to a diverse population of women with complex needs. A significant part of the role will encompass managing staff / volunteer rotas, monitoring staff performance, identifying and managing safeguarding issues, ensuring that the helpline database is being maintained and providing helpline data to other staff. The role will also include attending external stakeholder meetings and raising awareness of the helpline service. The Helpline Manager will also have some involvement in other MWNUK projects, services and activities as required. The role requires a proactive, organised and practical approach to ensure MWNUK’s projects are delivered effectively and efficiently, providing high quality support and customer service across the organisation, both internally and externally.
Main responsibilities
· Supervising the Helpline team of 11 staff (however this is equivalent to 3 full time staff per day only) and ensuring there is sufficient helpline cover and monitoring their wellbeing.
· Recruiting and training helpline volunteers and staff with the support of senior management and ensuring their development needs are flagged up.
· Monitoring performance of helpline staff through monthly supervision meetings and annual appraisals.
· Identification, handling and recording of all safeguarding risks and issues for both children and adults, including in instances of domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour-based violence, sexual abuse, self-harm, isolation, housing, marriage and divorce etc.
· Reviewing helpline cases before they are closed ensuring the data has been properly recorded.
· Monitoring helpline data and identifying any trends and sharing them with senior management and the Advocacy Officer.
· Maintenance of accurate records, online databases, filing systems and computer files and gathering of statistics as required by the Operational Director and / or CEO and external evaluating consultant.
· Maintenance of all information in line with confidentiality and data protection policies while observing professional boundaries at all times.
· Holding monthly helpline team meetings and sharing learning as well as identifying and sharing interesting cases with senior management and the Advocacy Officer.
· Attending external meetings e.g. MARAC meetings, engaging with police and social services.
Other duties
· When required (i.e. when there are staff shortages) provide cover on the helpline and respond to phone calls, emails, texts and webchat in a faith and culturally sensitive manner.
· Keeping up to date with helpline issues such as forced marriages, domestic violence, honour-based violence, sexual violence, female genital mutilation, mental health, discrimination and women’s rights – including assisting with projects and services on these issues.
· Promoting the helpline’s services to a range of stakeholders.
· Occasionally (if required) delivering training workshops and leading discussions online and in schools, colleges, and community organisations on issues such as forced marriages, domestic violence, FGM, honour-based violence, child sexual exploitation etc.
· Carrying out duties to support to the Operational Director and / CEO.
· Attending training as required.
· Undertaking outreach work if required.
Person Specification
· Strong experience of dealing with minority ethnic women particularly from Muslim communities who have suffered domestic violence and other forms of abuse such as forced marriage, honour-based violence, sexual violence, mental health issues etc.
· Knowledge of key issues that will arise on the helpline such as domestic violence, forced marriage, honour-based violence, sexual violence, mental health, hate crime etc.
· Strong experience of identifying and handling safeguarding issues for both children and vulnerable adults.
· Experience of managing, supporting and supervising a small team.
· Second language such as Arabic, Bangla, Punjabi or Urdu.
· Excellent IT skills (word processing, databases, spread sheets and Outlook).
· Able to build relationships with whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
· Proactiveness, enthusiasm and commitment along with an honest and trustworthy approach to the role.
· High level of professionalism when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
· Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with solid communication skills – written and verbal.
· Experience of effective teamwork i.e. listening (including taking on feedback), being respectful and instilling confidence and motivation into staff and volunteers.
· Ability to work independently without supervision and being able to use initiative.
· The ability to work in a positive manner, under tight deadlines.
