World Cancer Research Fund explores how diet, weight and physical activity affect your risk of developing cancer. We now have an exciting opening for a Head of Media, PR & Editorial. The postholder will be responsible for developing and supporting key campaigns and strategies that help to promote and explain the work, impact, health messaging and funding needs to diverse audiences. You will achieve these through PR and media relations, awareness-raising campaign development, supporter stories, celebrity/ambassador management, and the management of a small team, including staff and specialist consultant support.

We are seeking an experienced communications professional with demonstrable expertise and a track-record of success in managing communications for a charity, health or science-related organisation, including developing successful media strategies, with positive press coverage, and writing clear, engaging copy for different audiences across digital and social media channels. The successful candidate will also have proven experience planning and managing multiple cross-departmental projects.

The Finance Systems Implementation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the new system meets the charity's financial and operational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead the end-to-end implementation of Business Central, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Project Leadership: Manage the planning, resource requirements, scheduling, risk management and budget control for the project, using appropriate tools and methodologies.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with finance, IT, and other departments to gather requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives, liaising with colleagues across teams to ensure that all work is prioritised, maximising the available cross-functional resource in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Contractor Engagement: Manage the tender for an implementation partner and work with the implementation partner throughout the process to ensure a joined-up implementation
• System Configuration: Oversee the configuration and customization of Business Central to meet the charity's specific needs.
• Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and provide ongoing support during and after the implementation.
• Data Migration: Manage the migration of data from legacy systems to Business Central, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

John Lyon’s Charity is delighted to be recruiting for a Grants Manager to join its dynamic Grants Team. The Grants Manager will be responsible for end-to-end grant-making; assessing applications, making recommendations and monitoring of a portfolio of grants. The grants will be broad in range from smaller, single year grants under the School Holiday Activity Fund to multi-year, large grants within the Open Grants Programme. The role holder will work closely with other members of the Grants Team, including the Directors, to support learning, develop special initiatives and contribute to the creation of policy and processes. The role will suit someone with previous grant-making experience who is seeking to develop their expertise in place-based grant-making and/or the CYP sector. Given the nature of the existing portfolio, experience of working with cultural organisations and education settings would be a particular benefit.

To take the lead in recruiting volunteers across Yellow Submarine’s projects and activities and provide support to volunteers enabling them to carry out their roles through training and pastoral support.

Key Duties*

About the Role

We are recruiting a Standards Officer to join our small and friendly Standards team.

The role of the Standards function is to monitor newspaper, magazine and digital publishers’ compliance with the Editors’ Code of Practice and to take action to address concerns about editorial standards, including by undertaking investigations into serious standards failures as necessary. It’s a busy team that coordinates closely with others at IPSO and outside the organisation, engaging with members of the public, journalists, and experts on a wide variety of subjects. Some recent issues that the standards team has worked on are reporting of sexual offences, suicide, major incidents, and domestic abuse.

As the Standards Officer, you will carry out a range of tasks, including analysing information drawn from complaints received by IPSO, supporting the annual statements process and engaging with a range of representative groups who have concerns about press reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Standards and other colleagues across IPSO.

This is a role for someone who is interested in news and journalism, has excellent communication and analytical skills, and enjoys working with others to achieve a shared purpose. Candidates who demonstrate relevant experience will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their skills through a written exercise prior to short-listing for interview. How you will make a difference:

Amna is seeking a Social Media and Design Consultant on a monthly retainer contract to support our digital content strategy and enhance our online presence. Both individuals and agencies with the relevant skills and experience are welcome to apply. This role is pivotal in amplifying our mission through creative and impactful content that engages our audience and reflects our core values. The consultant will bring expertise in social media management, graphic design, and video editing to help us effectively communicate our story.

Deliverables include:

• Designing up to 20 high-quality graphical posts per month for social media, ensuring alignment with Amna’s visual identity and core values.
• Editing videos and reels for social media channels, up to 5 per month, using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Scheduling posts across social media platforms using Hootsuite, ensuring consistent and strategic content delivery.
• Uploading and managing content on Amna’s website using a web Content Management System (CMS), such as WordPress.
• Providing ad-hoc design support as needed, including infographics, reports, and digital marketing materials (2-3 per month).
• Collaborating closely with the communications team to develop and execute content strategies that raise awareness and foster engagement.
• Keeping up to date with social media trends, tools, and best practices to enhance Amna’s digital presence, engaging with comments and messages.
• Amna team will share briefs and provide text, creative direction and copy for each deliverable.
• The consultant will be also expected to be available for 1-2 check in meetings per week.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience managing social media platforms and developing visual content for social media, preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Strong knowledge of WordPress or other CMS platforms.
• Experience in using social media management tools, such as Hootsuite, for scheduling and analytics.
• Interest in social impact, social justice, and working with communities affected by adversity, including displacement, war, conflict, poverty, abuse, or marginalization.

Work Location and Environment:

This is a remote service contract opportunity open to applicants in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and Asia. The consultant will be expected to coordinate with Amna’s communications head based in London.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy to significantly increase our restricted and unrestricted income, aiming to surpass £500,000 this year. This role involves coordinating a diverse portfolio of high-value trusts, foundations, and grant-makers, including the National Lottery, Children in Need, and other major grant schemes, charitable trusts, and foundations.

We are looking for a skilled bid writer with extensive project management experience to transform our core and project work into compelling fundraising propositions. The ideal candidate will be proactive, with a proven track record in high-value fundraising from trusts and foundations or a similar field. The Grants & Trusts Coordinator will cultivate and maintain key relationships with funders capable of contributing four to six-figure sums.

The key tasks for this role include working closely with the CEO to develop a plan for multi-year income growth from grant funding, aligned with the Charity’s strategic objectives and income targets. The role requires developing the strategic direction for grants and trusts funding, ensuring a pipeline of high-value bids and a sustainable income stream. You will identify, engage, cultivate, and coordinate a portfolio of high-value trust and foundation supporters, providing effective relationship management alongside the CEO. 

Securing both restricted and unrestricted income for Platform for Life involves initiating, managing, and developing a comprehensive programme of applications to a wide range of funding sources. You will identify funders that align with the work carried out by Platform for Life, and collaborate with the CEO, colleagues and trustees to produce high quality, innovative bids, ensuring the strongest possible application is submitted. You will then coordinate and create the funding, mid-term and completion reports for funders.

Permanent Contract, Working Full-time, 9am-5pm

Office based at the Innovation Centre, Canterbury, with travel to and working from different bemix locations in Kent, as and when needed.

The Administration team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of bemix. Main aim: To oversee, plan and steer the administration across the organisation. With proven skills and experience to confidently approach different tasks and requests throughout the day with a solution-focused, confident and resilient working manner. You will lead, support, unite and develop the office administration team, so that great things can be achieved. The role needs someone who instinctively takes the approach of reviewing and developing systems, tracking progress on projects and thrives on organising and planning a busy calendar of work.

Holding oversight for the bemix mainline, email inboxes and other communication channels, ensuring all are well-manned across the whole week by the administration team and answered in a friendly, helpful and professional manner. Stepping in to provide practical help when needed, to ensure an excellent pathway of communication (both external and internal) is maintained at all times. 

Hours: Working 37 hours per week, working Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm .  Working hours need to have flexibility to respond to tight deadlines with extra hours, taken as time off in lieu.

Location: Mainly at the Canterbury Innovation Centre, University of Kent site, Canterbury. With great facilities, including free parking, cafe, reliable local transport connections and lovely outside spaces to explore on breaks/lunch/walking supervision. With flexibility and commitment to travel and work at other bemix locations and sites, as the role needs demand.

Salary and benefits: In the range of £30,000 - £34,000 per annum.  With an offer made based on experience and proven track record. Along with generous 25 days annual leave pro rata plus 8 bank holidays + Contributory Pension Scheme option (5% of pay)
