The role

Starting between £55,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours: 35hrs per week

Permanent: Full-Time

About you

You will be a senior HR practitioner, qualified to CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience), and have a proven track-record at leading a high-performing HR team. You’ll have plenty of experience in delivering strategic HR initiatives,  excellent knowledge of employment law, an ability to communicate at all levels, and flex your approach according to the situation. We are looking for someone who has had experience of advising and delivering on organisational-wide HR change management initiatives, can work effectively to project deadlines, and will successfully balance the needs of employees with the operational and ambitious needs of the charity.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail.

We have a hybrid approach to the way we work. Our Senior Executive Team meet with our Senior Leadership Team twice a month on a Monday. These meetings are face to face. One is in central London and one is at our Hatfield office. In addition, you will be required to attend at least four face to face organisational All Staff Together days which are predominantly in Hatfield, one directorate meeting a month in Hatfield, as well as attending the Hatfield office with the rest of the HR team one day a week. One to one’s will be face to face with direct line reports and your line manager once a quarter.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK’s IT team as our IT Vendor and Service Integration Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end vendor management process, ensuring seamless integration of external services with our internal IT operations.

Acting as the primary liaison between outsourced service providers and internal IT teams, you will ensure alignment with organisational objectives, maintain service quality, and optimise the value derived from vendor relationships. You will also be responsible for ensuring that contract obligations are consistently met.

You will coordinate across IT Operations, IT Applications/Data, and directorate technology-dependent teams to resolve issues that span multiple domains, ensuring the smooth integration of services between internal and external providers. A key aspect of the role will involve monitoring and reporting on vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs, providing regular comprehensive updates to the Deputy Director of IT. Our client is the UK’s national LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness charity. Their mission is to ensure that every LGBTQ+ young person facing or at risk of homelessness or a hostile environment has somewhere safe to stay, and work with over 800 vulnerable young people a year providing both face to face and online support. They are now recruiting a dedicated Supported Housing Manager to oversee the opening of a brand new LGBTQ+ service based in Lambeth.

Reporting to the Director of Services, as Supported Housing Manager you will have responsibility for the opening and day to day management of a new six unit LGBTQ+ housing scheme, working to create a safe, welcoming and psychologically-informed home environment for all beneficiaries. As Supported Housing Manager you will oversee a small, committed team of frontline staff, and will work to ensure that the support delivered is person-centered, holistic and to the highest quality. Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will ensure that team members fulfil their duties in safeguarding children and young people in line with company policies, and will work in partnership with a range of agencies to achieve best possible outcomes for all service users. You will also provide training to professionals and support to LGBTQ+ people, ensuring that professionals are working in an LGBTQ+ informed and inclusive way.

Overview of the Head of Campaigns role and the team

Barnabas Aid is seeking a dynamic and strategic individual for the role of Head of Campaigns, a critical position within our International Outreach Department. The post-holder will lead the development and delivery of impactful campaigns, aimed at raising awareness, prayer, and vital donations for the charity’s work with persecuted Christians worldwide. The Head of Campaigns will be responsible for key initiatives such as the Barnabas Brekkie/Breakfast campaign, as well as major supporter events like Encourage. In addition, they will focus on key fundraising activities, ensuring high levels of supporter acquisition, engagement, and retention.

This is a new and exciting role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape the future of Barnabas Aid's fundraising and supporter relations strategy. The role requires close collaboration with the Head of Communications, the Philanthropy Manager, and the Living Streams Officer, and will involve working alongside the National Directors of our Regional Offices around the world to ensure campaign strategies are effectively adapted to local contexts.

About the role

We seek an experienced Business Development Manager to drive our UK growth and expand our client and partner base. Reporting directly to the CEO, (initially) you will lead our sales strategy targeting UK businesses, with a particular focus on small and medium businesses, and public sector organisations. 

With a proven track record in generating revenue through outbound marketing, online channels and relationship-building, as well as developing new revenue-generating business models, you will be hands-on in driving our B2B sales, securing over £150,000 annually through direct sales, grants, tenders, contracts and partnerships. You will also contribute to developing engaging communications to support The Human Edge's financial growth and brand development.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the sales growth strategy aligned with organisational goals
• Proactively identify and ensure new business opportunities, partnerships and collaboration

About the role

Are you a service coordinator or a frontline caseworker with demonstrable organisational skills and the ability to develop, deliver and monitor the impact of food based destitution services? Reporting to the Director, AFRIL's Destitution Coordinator will coordinate the delivery and development of our work to alleviate destitution. You will coordinate a fortnightly referral only food bank in partnership with St Peter’s Church in Lee; secure gifts in kind, manage the distribution of small grants, and work together with our Casework team and partner Immigration Solicitor to support people to engage in the complex process of improving their circumstances. You will supervise volunteers and lead on professional relationships for AFRIL’s destitution work, including influencing local policy. We are a friendly and supportive team and the existing postholder is moving internally so you will have a thorough handover period.

AFRIL delivers the following core services: 

• Rainbow Club Supplementary School - providing weekly supplementary education in  English and Maths, arts, music and sports activities to children from refugee, migrant  and asylum seeking backgrounds from 4-11 years old, plus youth volunteering programme and Youth Council (NRCSE and Sanctuary Status)

• Casework and Advocacy Service: providing AQS accredited advice, casework and legal interventions in asylum support, community care, housing, welfare benefits and related matters. Pre-Action Protocol letters to challenge unlawful public law decisions.

• Destitution Support - a fortnightly Food Bank in partnership with St Peter’s Church providing food, food vouchers, toiletries, and other essentials, alongside a warm hub with free cafe, information and support. Small grants for essential items and cash payments for food in emergencies. Securing and distributing gifts in kind, e.g. winter coats, laptops and data. 

• Allotment of Refuge - a welcoming community of food growers that supports improved health, wellbeing and integration of members, whilst protecting the local environment. 

• Immigration Project in partnership with Southwark Law Centre, providing free legal advice and representation to support people to regularise their immigration status.

Terms and conditions:

Hours: Part time 17.5 hours (2.5 days per week) to include every other Saturday morning

Location: The office base for this post is the Leemore Community Centre in central Lewisham with service delivery at St Peter’s Church in Lee every other Saturday morning. We have a hybrid working model and the post holder can work from home for part of the week, as agreed with line manager.

The Role

You will be responsible to and work closely with the Managing Director to ensure financial information is provided to the Board of Trustees, funders and other stakeholders; and act as Secretary to the Finance Task Group, convening and minuting meetings.

This includes maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling book-keeping software (currently Quickbooks) and producing regular management accounts.

You will have experience in finance and accounting and a strong understanding of charity finance. You will work closely with senior leadership and the Programme Coordinators to ensure budgets and financial reporting are up-to-date and comply with legal regulations.
