An exciting position has arisen for a Challenge Events Fundraiser to work for a leading charity based in South East London. This is a permanent role within the hospice’s busy Fundraising team, responsible for planning and executing a variety of challenge events to support the hospice’s vital work in the local community.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Develop and deliver a diverse and successful calendar of challenge events, including third-party and hospice-led events such as marathons, skydives, and overseas treks

The Peer Support and Community team at Kinship is dedicated to enhancing the lives of kinship carers across England and Wales by delivering the first national peer support service. With a focus on building and sustaining networks of peer support groups, the team aims to empower kinship carers through access to resources, training, and development opportunities.

By fostering connections within local, regional, and national ecosystems, the team plays a vital role in ensuring that every kinship carer has access to a supportive community.

 About the role

This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub. You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment. Funded by the Department of Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an individual located in Greater London, and willing to travel across the South East of England who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:

· Establish new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities

· Supervise a small team of Peer Support Development Officers

· Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to inspire yourself and your team to achieve key targets and objectives

· Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective support services for the kinship community.

· Maintain current Peer Support Groups, taking the lead from the national Hub.

· Maintain accurate records that are used to populate reports, identify learning and share key insights across Kinship that allow the organisation to continuously improve our services and products.

In the role of Senior Peer Support Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, consistent, and sustainable peer support service that has a significant impact on the lives of kinship carers.

You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey towards sustainability.

As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.

You will be confident in building relationships that generate referrals from external stakeholders and in contacting kinship carers directly to secure engagement with local coffee mornings, community, and training events that will help kick start a thriving peer support group.

As you establish new groups, you will provide training to help them lead their groups effectively, and develop their group culture, resilience, and skills to function independently while offering reassurance and support to empower them.

You will be an inspirational and energetic team leader with experience in providing day-to-day line management and operational support for a small team.

We are ideally looking for candidates based in or around Greater London and willing to work initially across the London Boroughs and into the South East of England. This role may involve work to establish groups on the periphery of this area that currently have no dedicated development staff.

A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential, as this role may require travel across London and its periphery to reach areas in need of dedicated support.

Key responsibilities: 

Service delivery:

• In person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local and regional communities including setting up and attending local engagement events.
• Work creatively to set up and develop new sustainable in peer support groups, attending up to six sessions in person (if needed) before transition to self-sufficiency.  Existing groups that are at risk, closed or need support will need replacing or rejuvenating to maintain DfE service level agreements across the team, in addition to new groups. 
• Recruit and retain support group leaders to develop their peer support groups.
• Deliver training to support group leaders (group roles and responsibilities, safeguarding, setting up, running and promoting a group).
• Develop strong boundaries and positive relationships with support group leaders – building resilience, empowerment and community.
• Support established groups in your area to access support group leader networks and training (this includes visiting groups in person) to build a peer community. 
• Help develop and deliver a service blueprint for sustainable peer support groups, thinking strategically about how to develop groups.
• You'll collaborate closely with the ‘Hub’ team to provide a joined up and positive user experience for kinship carers. This collaborative approach is key to our success and ensures that kinship carers receive the best possible support.
• Manage special interest groups and regional online groups as required, transitioning to ‘Hub’ team for sustainability and work with partners.

• Accurately record all recruitment, contact information and volunteer case management in Salesforce in line with service framework and data protection requirements.
• Ensure accurate data entry in Salesforce to support service performance, evaluation and learning.
• Provide regular reports to ensure targets and SLA are met for the service.
• Support continuous development and improvement of the service (new systems and processes) as required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Performance and Planning Marketing & Communications professional who wants to help develop and grow Maggie’s profile, reach and reputation across the UK.

The role will be focused on enabling insight-led communications that support the achievement of our organisational objectives, increasing awareness of and support for our centres and online resources, and enhancing our planning and performance processes to create new opportunities to support people with cancer.

There are three key areas of focus of this 6-month maternity cover role: lead on the data analysis and evaluation of the Maggie’s Supporter Survey; develop insight on Maggie’s visitor acquisition and retention with a view to increase our visitor numbers; and lead Maggie’s brand campaign analysis to inform our brand strategy.

Your responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and evaluation of our Maggie’s Supporter Survey, combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to generate valuable insights from which to drive performance and growth.

• Working with data analysts and insights colleagues, and the Director of Performance, Marketing and Communications Director and Fundraising Director, develop valuable insight to help inform our Brand, Communications and Marketing strategy, as well as our Fundraising strategy.

• Conduct analysis, in collaboration with data analysts and insights colleagues, of our Maggie’s visitors support journeys. Establishing any important themes on our visitor retention and acquisition, to inform our Brand, Communications and Marketing strategy, as well as our Programme strategy.

• Lead Maggie’s brand campaign analysis, working in collaboration with communications and marketing colleagues and key external stakeholders. As part of this, support the evaluation of the effectiveness of our marketing activity, including brand tracking and visitor marketing.

• Support the Marketing and Communications Director in evidence-based marketing and communications strategy development and functional planning, based on audience data and insights.

Essential skills and experience

• In-depth knowledge of working within a Brand, Communications and/or Marketing function

• Experience of carrying out mixed method analysis and evaluation of data, qualitative and quantitative, to develop communication and marketing plans and strategy

Purpose of the role 

The purpose of this role is to lead our finance and operations functions and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to implement management systems to efficiently run the business and achieve strategic objectives agreed by Global Black Thrive Board of Directors.  This includes governance, finance, human resources, IT, legal, health and safety, and facilities management. 

This role is strategic as well as multi-faceted and hands-on and will work collaboratively as part of Global Black Thrive’s Senior Leadership Team to

• Develop robust approaches to finance and operations and provide practical support for Black Thrive teams to manage their programmes and projects; and 

• Support staff to take on delegated responsibility for finance, HR and operations and to develop their skills and knowledge base. 

• Develop a Fundraising Strategy through creating comprehensive fundraising plans tailored to the organisation's needs and goals. 

Duties and responsibilities 

1. Support the CEO to manage the organisation and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including finance, HR, health and safety, data protection, and deadlines for annual returns to Companies House, the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies, and HMRC.
2. Put in place governance and management systems to support the efficient operation of the business, and the achievement of strategic objectives and milestones agreed by the Global Black Thrive Board of Directors. 
3. Support in the development of Black Thrive’s internal Learning and development infrastructure, particularly with the Learning Week.
4. Lead on strategic reviews of organisational policies and procedures and work with the CEO and colleagues to review, update and operationalise policies and procedures.
5. Line manage Finance Officer and lead finance functions, including working with managers to prepare and monitor budgets, ensuring that there are appropriate financial controls and operational arrangements in place (including for outgoing and incoming invoices and grants), liaising with external accounting and payroll providers and training staff as required.
6. Line mange the HR and Admin Manager and support with updating policies, rolling out strategic changes and communicating these companywide.
7. Provide timely and accurate strategic financial management information to enable the Board of Directors, CEO and managers to have effective oversight and make strategic short-term and long-term decisions.
8. Work with others in the organisation and support the Fundraising Strategy. This will also include strategies for creating our own independent funds that are not linked to an external funder.

Support the CEO to fulfil their role as Designated Lead Officer for safeguarding, including updating the safeguarding policy, ensuring that it is given effect and maintaining a robust system of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and training for staff, associates, consultants and volunteers.

Your role as an Intern in our Consulting Team

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

We are recruiting for two Generalist Advisers - one permanent and one fixed term contract for 12 months. The roles are an integral part of the day-to-day delivery of our Advice and Support Service, which has been re-shaped and went live in the summer of 2024. The service is targeted at older people in or facing financial hardship, and provides information, advice and follow up support to older people, their friends, family and professionals.

As a Generalist Adviser you will be responsible for providing advice and support during calls received through the duty line, pre-booked appointments and short term casework.  

You should have knowledge and experience of advising on a wide range of topics, including Welfare Benefits, Housing and Social Care. You should have experience of working within an advice setting and advice supervision framework such as the AQS framework. You will have a warm, supportive and person-centred approach, working alongside individuals in a holistic manner.

Amna is seeking a Social Media and Design Consultant on a monthly retainer contract to support our digital content strategy and enhance our online presence. Senior AV Technician
Location: Based in Kensington, London.

As part of the Venue Hire team you will be leading on the AV elements of Society and Venue Hire client event delivery and assist them to project their ideas with technical expertise. You will be responsible for leading the technical team for events requiring support with Audio/Video, streaming, hybrid, lighting and recording needs.

Duties and responsibilities 

• Lead the technical production of high-profile, technically complex events and assist in the hands-on delivery of events in line with the programme requirements for the venue.

• Select and prepare equipment for future events and meetings as required. 
• Brief and hand over of the relevant files to the freelancer team before events. 
• Provide technical support to clients and staff before events and during conferences and other event formats.

• Ensure that freelancers perform as required onsite and using our equipment; supervise and manage freelance support for event (where it is required), as agreed with the Venue team. 
• Supervise and training freelancers on all existing and new equipment.
• Be proactive in research, selection and/or upgrade of AV equipment to purchase and the installation and oversight of new equipment installation.
• Ensure that AV equipment is maintained, undertaking necessary repairs or utilising a maintenance company services.
• Prepare and maintain user guides and maintain an inventory of Society AV equipment. 
• Carry out regular liaison with senior executives and high-profile clients regarding their event AV needs.
• Work with the Venue team to provide feedback on possible enhancements and improvements to the Society’s Events spaces. 
• Meet regularly with Venue hire team colleagues to plan and fill all events requests for the week ahead including hybrid events, conferences, webinars, broadcasts, and streaming.

Job Purpose: 

The Head of Brand and Content plays a lead role in managing the brand, overseeing the production of content, coordinating content across all channels and ensuring that it follows MSF’s objectives in terms of operations, fundraising, advocacy and recruitment.

In close collaboration with the Director of Communications, you would lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s brand and content strategy. 

You would manage and support a team of content producers in line with our best practice management standards; appraising, coaching, mentoring and supporting your team and ensuring they are fulfilling their objectives to the best of their ability.
