Charity People are working with a social welfare charity to find them a new Digital Projects Officer, to help project manage a range of digital initiatives and support with implementation and effectiveness of the charity's operations. Working in a small team, you will assist the Digital Projects Manager to identify opportunities for digital improvements with existing processes, and to upskill staff to use new and existing digital tools. You will help lead on digital projects for the charity, to help scope requirements, understand regulatory needs, costs, and advise on process and implementation. You will source, manage, and assess suppliers and agencies for digital projects.

The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player who thrives working as part of a small collaborative team and has strong experience of working successfully in a similar digital project's role for a large charitable organisation with recent knowledge of digital and fundraising innovations, best practice, and compliance requirements.

You will require an understanding of implementing large and complex digital projects including project scoping, and experience of analysing and reporting on KPIs to monitor service performance. Therefore, the team require someone who has worked in a digital projects role in the sector, who has the confidence to come in and take ownership of projects.

The role is set to start early October with interviews being held at the end of September.

Please note, the hourly rate will be based on the working arrangements. If the successful postholder requires remote working then the hourly rate is based on a salary of £32,590 per annum, if the candidate works two days per week in the London office, then the hourly rate would be based on £36,502 per annum.

akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. We provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to ensure that no young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. 24% of young people facing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBT (National Scoping of LGBT Youth Homelessness, akt, 2015) and 78% of LGBTQ+ young people cited an absence of family support (The LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness Report, akt, 2021). The charity was founded in 1989 and operates service centres in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and works online through a Digital Service to offer support to young people outside of our four office regions. akt works with over 800 vulnerable young people a year providing both face to face and online assistance.

The Team 

This role sits within akt as part of the Digital team and is supervised by the Senior Services Manager.

Job Summary 

Please note there is one job available that can be based at any of our office locations in London, Manchester, Newcastle or Bristol.

• Support, develop and supervise staff, students and volunteers building a strong and dynamic team culture, and ensure the Team understands, recognises, and meets the needs and expectations of akt’s service users.
• To work as part of the Services Management team and wider akt Management team, attend relevant meetings and complete actionable tasks.
• Be accountable for the budget relating to Digital Services.
• Take responsibility for the management of specific projects relating to service delivery. 
• Lead on the continued development of live chat ensuring akt takes advantage of technological advantages that are relevant. 
• Alongside the Senior Services Manager ensure our digital offer meets all the current and potential needs of young people. 
• Manage team to assess the needs of young LGBTQ+ people who are homeless, vulnerably housed, or in a hostile environment, and to carry out signposting and brief intervention.
• Manage and support team to support young people through casework including managing risk, case file reviews, and support around housing pathways and options.
• Maintain and deliver the performance management reports and quarterly data scrutiny for Digital Services and participate in Services Committees to offer feedback on local performance as required.
• Develop tools that monitor the impact of the digital work for those accessing the service.
• Offer support to volunteers around digital engagement including live chat. 
• Alongside Marketing and Communications and other Services Managers, create and maintain digital resources and signposting to allow akt to engage with young people needs and signpost appropriately.
• Alongside Marketing and Communications maintain and develop the online resource hub so it continues to meet the needs of young people accessing online support.

About you

They will be confident at communicating data in a variety of ways to a large range of audiences, identifying key take-aways and the broader implications of the findings on our clients and programming. We are looking for an experienced strategically minded, dynamic and proactive project management professional to join us here at the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) as our Initiatives Manager.

In this pivotal role as Initiatives Manager you will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of initiatives to support us in fulfilling our overarching goal of growing the UK workforce in our specialties of Clinical Radiology and Clinical Oncology, ensuring that quality and impact are at the heart of our plans. 

With a focus on the strategic development side of the team you will cultivate information into initiatives such as the development of curricula or standards but also ongoing initiatives which will serve to increase routes into the workforce for both existing and emerging groups of doctors and allied health professionals. Leading and motivating a high-performing and dedicated team to do so.

What you’ll do: 

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project officers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. 
• Build and maintain the team’s programme of activities, ensuring resources are appropriately planned to deliver individual projects as needed.
• Work with the Head of Workforce Development and Training and Workforce Project Officers to plan and agree deliverable programmes of work over the college year.
• Oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of workforce development initiatives, ensuring alignment with RCR objectives.
• Undertake market research to evaluate the viability of proposed new workforce initiatives, targeting those with the greatest impact and reach.
• Establish and oversee necessary quality assurance mechanisms for workforce and training programmes.
   

What you’ll need: 

• Experience of Programme/Project Management.
• Previous experience of line managing and developing a high-performing team.
• An analytical thinker, able to evaluate key issues and exercise sound judgment in drawing conclusions.
• Able to build and sustain great working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders globally.
• Able to prioritise own work and work of team to deliver agreed outcomes.
• A great communicator, both orally and in writing.

I am excited to be working with an amazing international huma rights charity in search of a Digital Assistant. This is an immediate start, part-time (30hrs per week), London based hybrid (1 day in office bi-weekly) role for around 3-months. As the Digital Assistant your role will be to support the maintenance, development, reporting and monitoring of the organisation’s website.

Main duties:

Create visually appealing pages using the WordPress Gutenberg page builder in collaboration with colleagues, providing guidance on layout and content presentation.

Implement content updates on the WordPress CMS, ensuring the site is dynamic and up to date, including refreshing hero banners based on agreed priorities.

Study site analytics and make recommendations for UX improvements to address user pain points.

Ensure accessibility compliance, regularly monitoring the site for accessibility, making fixes, and suggesting improvements.

Troubleshoot bugs or errors under the guidance of the HDE and escalate to the web development agency when necessary.

Conduct quality assurance using tools like Google Search Console, performance checks, and broken link checker software.

Advise colleagues on on-page SEO, using Yoast to improve page rankings.

Provide support to web editors by troubleshooting upload issues and assisting with the creation and approval of web resources to ensure adherence to style guidelines and upload procedures.

Onboard new web editors, giving training sessions and updating the web editor’s guide and style guide when necessary.

Source and edit photography for news stories and web pages, maintaining an organized image folder structure with properly labelled and captioned images.

Assist with monthly website reports, using tools such as Matomo.

Review and action web contact requests, providing timely support with requests based on HDE guidance.

Support digital development projects as requested by the HDE.

Maintain the CRM by supporting data updates as necessary.

Process supplier invoices and assist with administrative tasks related to digital projects.
