Learning with Parents supports all families to have positive learning interactions together and leads the sector to learn what works in tackling inequality.
In partnership with 150 primary schools, we support families across the UK to enjoy learning together at home. Families are motivated to sustain and enjoy frequent and positive interactions together.
Our parental engagement journey with schools starts by focussing on reading. Our digital reading log is an inclusive way for schools and families to record reading, replacing physical reading records.
Our full Maths and English programme builds on the positive habits fostered by our reading log. It replaces traditional Maths and English homework with fun activities which have parent-child interaction at their heart. Through behavioural insight research, innovative technology and teacher training we ensure that as many families as possible are supported effectively.
We are working to improve parental engagement across the sector, by producing evidence of parents’ impact and generating insights into how schools can best support them. Learnings are disseminated through the Parental Engagement Forum and amplified through the Fair Education Alliance.
About the Role
There are 1.4 million primary-aged children growing up in poverty in the UK, and we are currently only working with a fraction of them. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and are now looking to grow our Fundraising team to the next level.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team to deliver Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy. Their primary focus will be strengthening our existing funding pipeline through prospects research and managing the donor database. They will also be responsible for drafting compelling applications and reports for new and existing donors. They will develop and adapt our fundraising resources and provide wider support to the team.
The Fundraising and Communications Officer will also be responsible for managing Learning with Parents external communications, including creating and posting engaging blogs and social media posts, drafting the Annual Impact Report and managing the organisation’s brand guidelines.
Lastly, the Fundraising and Communications Officer will provide logistical support for the Parental Engagement Forum.
Core Areas of Responsibility:
Fundraising support

Research prospects who are a good fit for our work including corporate funders, trusts and foundations, High Net Worth Individuals and Sector Awards

Working with our Fundraising Manager, build our funder pipeline in order to support accurate forecasting for the organisation

Working with our Fundraising Manager, craft well-written project proposals and briefings to inspire and engage funders including corporate funders, individuals and Trusts and Foundations

Cultivate and steward existing and new donors, helping to secure ongoing support and identify potential uplifts

Build relationships across the Learning with Parents team to source and manage information about our work, keeping up to date with progress and impact

Manage Learning with Parents’ reporting schedule, feeding into our draft reports as required

Draft and spend out engaging and impactful quarterly funder newsletters

General support across different areas of fundraising, including but not limited to: working with the wider team to draft cases for support for new projects; keeping existing fundraising resources up to date and developing new ones as required; keeping our databases up to date; and supporting with event planning.

About you
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience across fundraising, communications and project management at a fast-paced education-tech charity. The DARO Stewardship Officer will focus on building affinity and active support through multichannel communications, fundraising and engagement activities with over 100,000 alumni and supporters around the world.

The Senior Communications Officer role:
As our Senior Communications Officer, you will assist with the development and the delivery of the Communications Strategy through use of our various communications channels and functions: websites, social media, newsletters, leaflets, posters, press releases, events etc. You will also increase the visibility of St Luke’s and its brand to the wider community, with the aim to reach new target groups for membership, increase visitor participation in our events and activities and generate income from fundraising and commercial activities.

- Manage the photograph library, and assist if staff require specific photos for publicity. Arrange photographers for events and photo sessions at the Centre. Advise staff on GDPR rules around photography where necessary.
Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities we are looking for in our ideal Senior Communications Officer:
- Experience of contributing to and working in a team to deliver a Communications Strategy
- Experience and knowledge of managing and delivering campaigns to build a reputation
- Experience of writing articles, press releases and managing websites

About The Role:
The successful candidate will support the Community and Challenge Event Manager to find ways to increase engagement and bring fresh ideas to the team and steward fundraisers. This role will be responsible for maximising the value of fundraisers by helping to develop and deliver their supporter journey with MQ, whilst supporting the wider marketing team with producing content including blogs and social media.
Here's a summary of your key responsibilities:
- To foster and strengthen relationships with community fundraisers and challenge event fundraisers by developing and delivering tailored supporter journeys and stewardship plans.
- Manage the fundraising lead ads from meta and contacting them with the relevant information.

About You:
This role is for you, if you have 1+ years’ experience in supporting community and events fundraising and track record of achieving financial targets and key objectives.
We need someone with experience of working on challenge events as well as knowledge of marketing and social media management.
You'll need to be organised, creative and proactive.
Experience of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT is desirable but not essential.

About this role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Reprieve team as our Head of Mass Engagement covering parental leave.
With the support of the Deputy Director of Development, you will lead our fast‐moving and creative Mass Engagement Team to:
- Power Individual Giving and Public Fundraising across multiple channels.
- Engage our community of supporters (currently about 95,000 people in the UK and 9,000 in the US) to donate and take action for Reprieve
- Inspire others to support Reprieve’s work, running campaigns across our social channels.
Our Mass Engagement work is at a pivotal moment. Reprieve’s income from through regular and individual giving, generated largely by email fundraising, has experienced a drop with many of our supporters understandably reassessing their charitable giving in the face of the economic crisis.
You will oversee the delivery and implementation of Reprieve’s recently launched Mass Engagement strategy. You will be energised to bring your skills, experience and knowledge to implement and deliver these plans, testing opportunities to diversify and grow the programme.
The Mass Engagement team works closely with the wider Development Team and colleagues across the organisation, supporting each other to reach their objectives.
About you
You will have a deep level of skill and expertise in mass fundraising, either through Individual Giving, Digital or Community and Events, with demonstrable experience managing a budget and making decisions about the best use of resources to deliver income targets.
You will be a dynamic leader with management experience and will foster an aspirational and creative environment within your team, while working across departments to ensure our content reflects organisational values, priorities and objectives. You will be able to demonstrate that you can oversee complex work streams and competing priorities, while supporting, inspiring and empowering your team to achieve targets.

Salary and duration

We are looking for an enthusiastic people person with great communications and organisational skills to help recruit and coordinate our talented volunteers. You will help take ANT to our next level of impact by leveraging volunteers to deliver tree planting and tree care activities across our woodland sites. Your role will support volunteer activities across Avon Needs Trees, but with a focus on our two largest sites: Great Avon Wood and Lower Chew Forest.
You will join a fast-growing organisation that started in 2019 with four volunteers and has grown to a staff team of nineteen (with more recruitment in the pipeline for 2024), over 1,000 volunteers and ownership of nearly 600 acres of land that will grow woodlands of over 160,000 trees.
Your legacy will be a tangible impact on slowing down climate change, helping nature recover and creating social impact by developing funding relationships that support our woodland projects and organisational development more broadly.
Main responsibilities
- Lead on the coordination of our volunteer leaders and volunteers to ensure we can deliver our volunteer tree planting, tree care days, and other activities, for example outreach volunteering or fundraising volunteering. Volunteer coordination includes:
- Managing volunteer leader rotas and calendars
- Ensuring all volunteers are provided with timely, accurate and clear logistical information ahead of volunteer days
- Responding to volunteer and volunteer leader enquiries in a timely manner
- Putting in place suitable contingency plans in the case of a volunteer leader having to pull out of a commitment
- Administering our volunteer management system
- Work with the Chew Valley Project Team and the Engagement, Communications & Fundraising team to recruit new volunteers and volunteer leaders, and ensure the ongoing engagement of our current recruits. This includes:
- Communications focused on volunteer recruitment
- Coordinating volunteers along the recruitment process
- Ensuring our web and digital assets are accurate and up to date
- Producing high quality communications outputs targeted at our volunteers and volunteer leaders, for example, volunteer news bulletins
- Volunteer focused project promotion on social media and other channels

JOB DESCRIPTION
1.Main purpose of role
To develop The Family Centre Deaf Children’s (FCDC) fundraising channels and secure income from grant funders and individual donors in order to sustain and develop the charity’s services and infrastructure, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and contributing to FCDC's overall strategic development, aims and operations.
The Development Officer is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our Fundraising Strategy 2024-2029 to support the charity’s continuous improvement, financial sustainability and future growth.
The post holder will be responsible for inspiring individual donations to the charity through local giving initiatives and further developing the charity’s existing income channels including:
· Community and events fundraising
· Individual giving
· Grants from Trusts and Foundations and other relevant grant income sources.
2.Duties and Responsibilities
2.1 General
· To champion FCDC’s vision, mission, ethos and values (internally and externally).
· To comply with all relevant charity and other legislation.
· To uphold and contribute to the updating of FCDC’s internal policies and codes of conduct.

2.2 Income generation from individuals
· Sustain and grow FCDC’s individual donor base and community fundraising in line with agreed income targets.
· Research and identify potential major donors.
· Work alongside the Centre Manager and Board of Trustees to develop relationships with potential donors.
· Work alongside FCDC’s Fundraising Working Group, Centre Manager and Events and Family Development Officer to develop and coordinate an annual calendar of community fundraising events.
· Develop local individual giving campaigns and social media appeals to secure individual donations.
· Ensure all fundraising activity is in keeping with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and is compliant with fundraising regulations.
· Ensure all fundraising activity is in keeping with FCDC’s mission, values, ethos and objectives.
· Ensure Gift Aid is claimed on all eligible donations and appropriate Gift Aid records are kept.
· Ensure our email opt-in and supporter subscriber lists are kept up to date.
2.3 Income generation from Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Agencies
· Maximise income from grant-giving organisations to ensure sustainable growth of restricted and unrestricted income in line with agreed income targets.
· Build and manage relationships with Trusts and Foundations to secure grants of £5,000 or more.
· Research, contact, correspond and meet with funders (as and when required) to build relationships prior to submitting funding applications.
· Collaborate with the FCDC team across the organisation to create compelling fundraising proposals and produce high-quality applications, reports and budgets.
· To assume responsibility for a portfolio of current and potential grant funders to maintain, grow and/or revive their support for the charity.
· Develop a robust pipeline of charitable Trusts and Foundations to support FCDC’s services and activities.
· Maintain relationships with funders between applications to nurture positive relationships between them and FCDC.
· Work alongside the Centre Manager and Board of Trustees to develop partnerships and positive working relationships with current and potential grant funders.
2.4 Donor engagement and stewardship
· Working closely with FCDC’s Centre Manager and the Chair to develop a donor journey that encourages long term support from individuals.
· Process individual donations, including: recording donations, thanking supporters in a timely fashion and responding to ad hoc supporter queries.
· Contribute to and proofread fundraising appeals, marketing materials and FCDC digital content.
· Support existing and new supporters of the charity in their initiatives to raise funds for FCDC.
2.5 Funder and donor data management
· Ensure that all funders and individual donor contacts and activity are accurately recorded on our funder and donor database.
· Work alongside the Centre Manager to ensure that all personal data is gathered, held, and used in-line with relevant data protection regulations and FCDC’s Data Protection Policy.
· Accurately record Trusts, Foundations and other grant income data on FCDC’s financial ICT system.
· Compile and submit timely funder reports, working alongside the Centre Manager in checking monitoring data, proofreading reports and ensuring reports are uploaded to funder portals, as and when required.
2.6 Fundraising Strategy 2024-2029
· Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of FCDC’s Fundraising Strategy 2024-2029, with specific focus on individual giving, community fundraising and Trusts and Foundations.
· Support the Chair and Centre Manager to set up a new Fundraising and Events Working Group (consisting of volunteers, service users, Trustees and staff), who will support and act as a sounding board for new fundraising initiatives and open doors to new income streams.
· Keep up-to-date with fundraising trends, opportunities and best practice and recommend changes in our funding strategies and annual fundraising action plans.
· Maximise income from new fundraising opportunities as and when they arise in the course of our work. For example: local sports group donations and company payroll giving.
2.7 Reporting
· Regularly report on fundraising outputs, outcomes and the impact of fundraising initiatives to staff, the Chair and the Board of Trustees.
· Contribute to funder monitoring activities and evaluation reports to ensure that FCDC meets its reporting obligations to funders.
2.8 Other
· Contribute to FCDC’s positive working culture, strategic direction and the future growth of FCDC by participating in team meetings, supporting other staff in their work and contributing ideas and feedback across the organisation.
· Ensure that key stakeholder enquiries, contact details and other relevant records are maintained and kept up-to-date.
· Undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities which the Chair may request from time to time.
· Actively participate in the staff appraisal scheme and be committed to learning and development in line with the Charity’s aims and objectives.
