Every day millions of older and disabled people are denied the social care they need. Most local authorities can’t meet the growing demand for care, and none are confident they can meet their legal duties in the future. This affects all of us - we will all need social care at some point in our lives.
We all have a right to hold public bodies to account, but most of us cannot afford lawyers so rely on legal aid. The 92% drop in legal aid cases since 2010 means that we have nowhere to turn. Without access to justice, our rights do not exist. The rule of law is broken.
What we do
Access Social Care provides free legal advice and information for people with social care needs, helping achieve a better quality of life. We work with communities to increase knowledge of the law and our rights. We highlight the gap left by cuts to Legal Aid and provide advice for those who can’t afford it.
With a 98% success rate, our network of lawyers provide access to justice when things go wrong. We collaborate with social services whilst ensuring legal obligations are met. We are working towards a future where social care is adequately funded and we all get the support we need.
We provide rights awareness training to front line managers, and legal advice and support to families and individuals. As well as providing access to justice, our aim is to drive system level change through evidence-led influencing and strategic casework.

About the role

We are looking for a Communications and Marketing Assistant to support the Head of Communications and Marketing at ASC. In this role, you will help to create, support, and deliver the charity’s external communications and marketing strategy, working closely with ASC teams, including the Executive and Senior Leadership teams. You will gain valuable insights into our work and help deliver and evaluate activities that lead to the effective positioning and promotion of the charity.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation:
- Drafting and editing engaging content for various channels (website, social media, email, print).
- Creating and updating website content.
- Developing and creating a newsletter to engage an audience of followers.
- Writing and broadcasting external emails.
- Creating templates for ASC-wide use based on brand e.g. PPT templates.
- Stories Database
- Managing a database of case studies that are gathered through ASC case work and through digital channels.
- Social Media Management:
- Managing and monitoring social media channels, responding to enquiries, and engaging with supporters.
- Contributing to the development of social media strategies for specific projects.
- Sharing key messages and calls to action on social media accounts.
- Campaign Support:
- Assisting with the development and execution of marketing campaigns.
- Tracking campaign performance and providing data analysis.
- Collaborating with the Exec and Leadership to identify comms opportunities.
- Podcast:

The 999 Club is a small charity doing big things with local people facing homelessness. For over 30 years we’ve been in the heart of Deptford providing warm welcomes and wraparound services ensuring those who need us are given the best chance of leaving homelessness behind for good.
Our Gateway Drop-In Centre offers nutritious meals, laundry and medical facilities, showers, IT access, phone charging , a safe space to rest and a dedicated Women’s Sanctury.
When members feel ready, our team of expert staff are on hand to support them into suitable accommodation where possible, secure income via paid work or benefits, and provide immigration signposting for those who need it. Once housed, our Move+ programme continues to work with them to ensure they settle into new accommodation with the knowledge, skills, community and hope required to thrive in their new life.
We also run The Bridge, a free six-week evening mental health course open to anyone in the community experiencing mental distress. The programme provides a practical toolkit to support long-term mental wellbeing.
JOB OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES
This newly created role will play a vital role in advancing 999 Club’s ambitious plans to enhance its status, reputation, and support among both existing and wider audiences. At this pivotal moment in the charity’s history, the postholder will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications and the Members’ Committee to co-develop and implement a bold new communications and marketing strategy.
Building on last year’s extensive rebrand, this role will ensure that the voices of those with lived experience remain central to the organisation’s messaging and identity. A key focus will be strengthening internal and external communication, uniting our diverse membership—which includes staff, clients, volunteers, trustees, and supporters—while also reaching new audiences through social media, direct marketing, PR, and media outreach.
A major priority will be the relaunch and expansion of the 999 Club’s Membership Scheme and Patrons Programme, designed to deepen awareness and support for 999 Club across Southeast London and beyond. Underpinning these efforts, the postholder will manage the Donorfy CRM database and ensure the ongoing maintenance and development of our WordPress website.

We’re looking for our next Senior Digital Mobilisation Executive to join our high performing Digital Mobilisation and Engagement team at Refuge. You’ll work dynamically across the organisation with the Digital Mobilisation and Engagement Manager, finding and developing opportunities to engage potential and existing supporters with Refuge and our mission. Using an agile, test and learn approach, you’ll understand our different audiences and be able to deliver segmented, impactful digital content. Main purpose of role:
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and deliver innovative direct marketing campaigns that drive donor engagement across our regular giving and cash programmes. As an Individual Giving Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our fundraising program. A highlight of this opportunity is supporting the delivery of our flagship BBC Radio 4 Christmas appeal, a campaign that is now in its 99th year and generates nearly £2m each year.

Main duties and responsibilities:
• Project manage multiple direct marketing campaigns delivering accurate campaigns on time, on budget and to a high standard.
• Work across the organisation to gather engaging content for our direct marketing activities. Write and review copy for collateral used for engagement, conversion and acquisition activities.
• Completing relevant campaign management documents including post-activity analysis reports, identifying learnings and recommendations for future campaigns, and writing internal and external briefs.
• Support the Head of Individual Giving with forecasting and reporting across financial and non-financial KPIs in relation to the Individual Giving programme.
• Ensure excellent communication and liaison between the St Martin’s Charity’s Fundraising team, marketing agencies, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Work with the CRM Manager to ensure that all campaign data is utilised and captured efficiently, effectively and accurately.
• Work with the Senior Digital Marketing Manager to ensure the Charity optimises digital fundraising opportunities in relation to individual giving.
• Acting as a day-to-day contact with external agencies ensuring high quality delivery of campaigns on time and on budget.
• Maintain a close working relationship with the Supporter Care Officer so that they are aware of all activity and able to respond to enquiries and complaints
