The purpose of this role is to support the Digital Communications Manager in promoting, strengthening and protecting the reputation of the Academy by delivering and evaluating short- and long-term digital campaigns across key communications channels that engage and influence new and existing audiences.

You will achieve this by creating high-quality, engaging written and visual content that is on brand and optimised for different audiences and digital channels used by the Academy including social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube and Bluesky), email, and our website. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, including influential UK and international medical researchers as well as patients, carers and the public, to help shape our work. 

You will strive for excellence to develop an understanding of the Academy’s audiences and an ability to tell impactful stories in a compelling way. You will be agile in how you work on multiple long- and short-term projects and will work well under pressure to meet short deadlines.  

You will behave with integrity to build effective relationships quickly, developing trust as you collaborate widely with colleagues, digital content creators, biomedical scientists and peers from partner Academies, charities, universities and government bodies, both national and international. You will act on evidence from data insights to deliver factually sound and impactful communications that resonate with our Fellows, grant awardees, public, patients, researchers and policymakers.

The Role

The North West England Methodist District (NWED) is seeking to appoint a Digital Enabler. The role is home-based, with travel throughout the District. The Digital Enabler will facilitate the effective participation by all members in the life of the Church in the North West England District by supporting stakeholders at all levels to facilitate digital evangelism and building and maintaining the District’s online presence.

NWED came to being in September 2024 following the joining together of a number of Methodist Districts. We cover the geographical area of Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, and parts of Cheshire and Derbyshire. Within this are inner city, industrial, post-industrial, suburban, and rural areas – no two towns are the same.

The District embraces a rich breadth and variety of theological perspectives and worship styles. A range of fresh expressions of Church (messy church, café church, arts-based projects, digital spaces etc.) are nurtured without neglecting the other, more traditional, expressions and all are equally valued.

We exist primarily to advance the mission of the Methodist Church in our District by supporting churches and circuits (a circuit is a group of churches served by a team, including one or more ministers). The District seeks to support each circuit and church to meet the needs of their members and the communities in which they serve, offering opportunities to worship, work and learn together.

About the role 

This is a new role within the Fundraising and Digital Directorate, which oversees all aspects of the charity’s fundraising, brand, website, social media, email communications, and lead generation campaigns. • Manage our email welcome journey for e-news sign ups, and support on the development of other supporter journeys for a range of audiences across the team.
• Ensure continued communications and strong working relationships with the Direct Marketing Manager and Digital and Comms teams.

The Media Communications Manager will build excellent relationships with older people with lived experience of poverty, ensuring the voices of older people in financial hardship are at the centre of everything we do. They will also grow the organisations relationships with journalists, channel owners, celebrities, ambassadors, and other influencers to ensure that our media communications activity supports our organisational objective to tackle poverty in later life.    

You should have broad experience of developing and implementing innovative, successful profile-raising plans (across digital and traditional channels).  You will bring an ability to work both proactively and reactively, and experience of handling reputational or crisis issues. You should also have a passion for, and affinity with, the charity’s cause.

Leading a talented team of six, the Head of Digital Mobilisation and Engagement is responsible for Refuge’s digital engagement and mobilisation work, collaborating with colleagues across Fundraising, Communications and Policy, to continuously improve the effectiveness and impact of Refuge’s work.

They will implement our Digital Engagement and Mobilisation Strategy, delivering sustainable growth and value to Refuge, with an emphasis on digital mobilisation to shift social norms, change policy and rasie income. An expert in mobilisation strategy, social, email, website, content, paid media, and digital tactics, they will also provide analysis and insight to improve programme performance, whilst ensuring we are testing, learning, and optimising all the time.

The Foundation is seeking a Digital Communications Coordinator to support in overseeing its presence on the Club website and develop the Foundation’s social media presence through planning, production and distribution of compelling digital content showcasing how the Foundation inspires and empowers people living within our local communities to thrive. The role will also involve assisting with the Foundation’s digital marketing outreach.

JOB PURPOSE

• To support overseeing the Foundation’s presence on the Club website, ensuring it amplifies the Foundation’s voice and fosters meaningful connections and engagement with all stakeholders.
• To develop and help maintain the Foundation’s social media presence – this is an exciting time to get involved, with the Foundation discussing its launch on Instagram and some other major platforms.
• To play a key supporting role in email marketing and provide analysis reports on all things digital.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the Foundation’s growing fundraising & communications team to develop digital and social media strategies that meet the organisation’s objectives.
• Produce high-quality digital content in the form of videos, infographics and more.
• Maintain on brand and up-to-date presence for the Foundation on the Club website.
• Provide support in the implementation of email marketing to key Foundation audiences.
• Produce regular analysis reports, utilising data and responding to what it tells us.
• Spend time working at Foundation activities and across Club sites to understand what stories there are to tell and how we can best share them.
• Help lead the testing and implementation of digital trends and tools.
• Work with Foundation staff and beneficiaries so that content is not just about them, but led by them.
• Participate in staff training offered by the Foundation.
• Perform all responsibilities in line with legislative guidance and Club/Foundation policy on safeguarding, ED&I practices and environmental sustainability.
• Due to the nature of the industry and the role, some out-of-office hours work may be required from time to time, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Essential

• Proven experience of website management and content management systems.
• Extensive knowledge and use of social media channels and management tools.
• Proven experience in using analytics to inform future ways of working.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to make relationships and enlist support.
• An understanding around the importance of obtaining consent for people to be in photos and videos.
• Sound writing and proofreading skills.

Desirable

• Knowledge of and ability to use Adobe video editing programs and Canva, as current preferred tools of ours.
• Experience and knowledge of best practice around email marketing.
• Good understanding of how digital communications can support a charity fundraising function.
• Good understanding of the sports/CSR landscape also desirable.

The Role

As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimisation of multi-channel digital marketing campaigns that drive impactful results for our charity partners. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management, ensuring that both day-to-day tactical tasks and long-term strategic goals are met.

You will be responsible for managing paid social campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X (Twitter) and more. This includes overseeing campaign performance, client communications, and ensuring that our campaigns deliver a strong return on ad spend (ROAS).

You will collaborate closely with internal teams to build, deliver, and refine sector-leading digital marketing campaigns that maximise income for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy

• Campaign Development: Oversee the development of multichannel paid social media marketing campaigns with the objective of providing our clients the best possible return on ad spend.
• Strategy refinement and innovation: Responsible for the refinement of the paid marketing strategies offered to our charity partners. Leading on testing new platform, audience and creative approaches which significantly improve outcomes.
• Industry Leadership: Understand and influence industry trends and standards, ensuring that Social Mind remains a leader in digital marketing innovation for the charity sector

Campaign Delivery

• Production: Oversee and support the production of marketing campaign resources such as copy and media ensuring the final execution meets our charity partners brand requirements and delivers the best possible results.
• Media Buying and Search Engine Optimisation: Oversee and support the delivery of paid social media campaigns with significant budgets working across a variety of channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X (Twitter), and more. Develop and execute SEO strategies.
• Campaign Optimisation: Continuously monitor campaign KPIs, adjusting strategies as needed to maximise ROAS and campaign effectiveness.

Team Leadership and Development

• Mentorship and Team Support: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement in digital marketing practices. Lead on recruitment and resource management of both permanent staff and freelance contributors to build a strong marketing team capable of delivering exceptional results.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including Customer Success, Stewardship, Supporter Journeys and Product to ensure cohesive and successful campaign delivery.
• Client Side Subject Matter Expert: Work closely with Customer Success team to provide client communications and to attend client meetings in capacity of subject matter expert on digital campaign strategy and optimisation.
