The Director of Income Generation is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive income generation and fundraising strategies to support the financial long-term sustainability and growth of the organisation. The charity are a digital-first organisation and will appoint a new Director that aims high, thinks big, and takes the right risks. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director will direct and generate new fundraising ideas, products and opportunities for income generation in a digital delivery context. The Director will oversee proposals and funding applications to grant making trusts and lead the expansion of the major donor base.
The selected candidate will have demonstrable experience in a national charity combined with successful fundraising leadership experience managing budgets, fundraising strategy and team and will have demonstrable experience in a senior or strategic leadership role. You will have a proven track record of leading, motivating, and inspiring teams and departments to be successful in fundraising and income generation growth.

About The Murray Parish Trust
Children with a serious illness are three times more likely to struggle with their mental health. Their childhoods are overshadowed by coming to terms with diagnosis, hospital stays, treatment, feeling different from friends or managing how their illness affects daily life. Many of them struggle with severe anxiety and depression, experiencing isolation and trauma during their journey. These children are at much higher risk of long-term mental health difficulties that are more complex and difficult to treat, on top of living with often complex medical needs.
Actors Jim Murray and Sarah Parish’s first daughter, Ella-Jayne, was born with Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome in 2009 and spent half her short life in paediatric intensive care, Southampton Children’s Hospital. Ella-Jayne died, at home, just eight months old. After they recovered from the immediate horror, Jim and Sarah felt an overwhelming drive to help other children and families and founded The Murray Parish Trust in 2014. They were awarded MBE’s in the King’s New Years Honours 2025 for services to seriously ill children and their families.
Our charity delivers projects that support the mental health of seriously ill children and their families. We improve access to specialist, imaginative and empowering support, at the earliest possible moment, to prevent long-term mental health difficulties. We do this by delivering a vast range of projects in children’s hospitals, hospices and other health or community settings across the UK. These include drama, dance, art, nature and music therapy; bereavement and mortuary suites, distraction equipment that reduces anxiety, sanctuary and quiet rooms; sibling support; counselling and therapy rooms; and psychological support for children/family members.
The role - Head of Public Fundraising and Operations
This is an exciting new chapter for The Murray Parish Trust. Our new Head of Public Fundraising and Operations will work closely with the Board of Trustees and our Head of Philanthropy and Projects to scale our impact and expand reach nationwide. They will play a pivotal role in leading operations and shaping the charity’s future, as well as leading on growing income from community, corporate, individual fundraising, which have been identified as strategic fundraising priorities.
We anticipate time will be split roughly equally between leading public fundraising and operational management. There is some freelance support with marketing, corporate and community fundraising, and volunteer coordination, plus trustee support with events; there is scope to expand the team as income grows. This role will support their work as well as personally deliver public fundraising activity, taking sole responsibility for individual giving and legacies.

Key responsibilities
Fundraising: Work alongside with the Head of Philanthropy and Projects to implement the fundraising strategy, including:
- Delivery of the specific fundraising activity delegated to this role to grow income year on year (individuals, community, corporate, legacies, events), supported by the work of freelancers.
- Strategic oversight of all public fundraising including monitoring, evaluating and reporting to the Board.
- Ensure excellence in donor stewardship that helps retain, grow and diversify support from existing donors.
- Maintain a proactive focus on donor acquisition, across the UK, prioritising areas where we have projects.
- Effectively utilise the CRM to proactively and accurately capture donor information and consents.
- Strong focus on return on investment to ensure efficiency in working nationwide, carefully prioritising activity.
Charity management and operations
- Help to shape organisational strategy, using data insight to drive decision making.
- Data management lead; incl. CRM management, data protection, embedding a culture of data collection.
- Lead on setting and managing annual income and expenditure budgets.
- Ensure compliance with the latest regulatory requirements and sector best practice.
- Coordinate and manage policy, procedure, risk management and wider charity administration.
- Provide support for financial management; incl. outsourced book keeping/monthly management accounts; working with accountants to ensure timely production of the Annual Report and Financial Statements
- Work closely with Board members with specific lead responsibility, incl. with the Treasurer in the production of cashflow and other financial reports.
- Supported by the volunteer coordinator (freelance), manage and develop a network of volunteers and ambassadors (e.g. talks, photo calls, events, collection tins, admin, research).
- Act as Secretary to the Board; including statutory filing, coordinating quarterly meetings and taking minutes, compiling/circulating Board papers, diarising other meetings and communication as needed.
- Represent the charity externally with diverse stakeholders.
- Responsible for the effective management and leadership of the public fundraising and operations team.

Our research has highlighted the lag faced by the community sector in its transition to net zero – no longer burning fossil fuels – compared to the domestic housing sector. To respond to this challenge SIB is launching a Heat Development Company, which will work closely with community initiatives seeking to decarbonise their heating – moving from boilers that burn gas or oil – and engage with their communities to support them through the net zero transition. Key responsibilities
1. To co-create and implement an effective community engagement strategy for the new Heat Development Company involving the three existing grantees on the programme, in particular giving consideration to the ways in which the Heat DevCo’s new investees can best work with local residents to make the case for electrification. To be the first point of contact for the pioneer grantees, and for the programme’s first set of development sites, ensuring that excellent communications are designed and implemented, and that questions and concerns are answered in a timely and informed way.
2. To manage any community consultants engaged as part of the programme, or working with project management partners.
3.To coordinate regular stakeholder engagement with key interest groups: grantees & investees and their communities, the social sector, and the decentralised energy sector. To be creative in developing these contacts, and to consider new and innovative ways of carrying out outreach and ongoing engagement reflecting the differential impact of analogue and digital methods of engagement, their reach into communities, and their replicability and cost.
4. To lead on qualitative research on decarbonisation and electrification for the Heat DevCo, in particular to support the Deputy CEO and research and data team in exploring the potential of heat as a common pool resource.
5. To work closely with the policy and communications team to ensure that stakeholder engagement reflects SIB’s policy priorities on decarbonisation and electrification, and that feedback from stakeholders is reflected in policy and communication outputs. To support the policy and communications team in its development of new policy and communication assets, and to work with the data team to incorporate the best evidence into outputs across SIB’s platforms. To work with external groups on the best approach to public information campaigns on electrification, and to ensure that SIB has a voice in wider efforts to encourage electrification in the UK.
6. To develop a calendar of useful events in heating decarbonisation and electrification, to attend relevant events or conferences and to ensure that the senior team prioritise the best set of opportunities to raise SIB’s profile and progress leads and partnerships. Through attendance to present the Heat Development Company, answering questions and reporting key feedback, ensuring that internal development work effectively reflects a wide set of views and experiences. To be an accessible and responsive contact point for SIB’s work on heat decarbonisation, taking a creative and inclusive approach to outreach and information sharing.
7. To support the coordination and project management of business development in community energy, heating and cooling, social investment fundraising and capacity building, supporting Business Development colleagues with relevant case studies, customer viewpoints and grassroots experience.
8. To provide regular and timely updates on the development of opportunities in heat decarbonisation and electrification to the senior team. These updates should both support effective information sharing across the organisation, and, in particular, reflect the grassroots and community perspective. This should enable SIB to make the best use of its resources and pursue its strategic priorities in an inclusive and accessible way.
9. To contribute to high quality bid responses for invitations to tender from funders, investors and other key client groups in heating, community energy, decarbonisation and electrification, to ensure that these are well-written and represent stakeholder and grassroots viewpoints.
10. To coordinate and contribute to a clear strategy and objectives for decarbonisation and electrification at SIB.

The Role:
As the Programmes Lead - Sector Improvement, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our sector improvement programmes, providing strategic guidance, and driving change across the HE sector to improve mental health outcomes.
The UMHC framework, launched in 2019, is a set of evidence-informed principles supporting universities to adopt a whole-university approach to mental health and wellbeing. To support its adoption, Student Minds introduced the UMHC Award assessment process and a holistic membership programme (‘Programme’) for universities in 2021.
Through the UMHC Award and Programme, we aim to ensure every university and HE organisation in the UK adopts a strategic, whole-organisation approach to wellbeing and mental health, creating conditions where all students can belong and succeed in the ways that matter to them. The Programmes Lead - Sector Improvement will:

The Role
Koreo is looking for a Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager to drive growth across our programmes, particularly Charityworks and 2027. These programmes aim to create a more diverse social change sector by placing young people from across the UK in 12-month work placements with nonprofit organisations, also known as host organisations. Alongside their work placements, participants take part in a year-long, ILM-certified leadership and development programme designed to accelerate their impact and future potential.
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual who thrives in a hands-on sales and relationship management role. This person will be responsible for securing work placements for our candidates by engaging with both new and existing host organisations across the nonprofit and grant-making sectors. They must be skilled at maintaining relationships with long-standing partners while also driving new business to support the overall growth and success of our programmes. Each year we aim to secure 150 work placements for diverse young talent from across the UK.
Working closely with the Director of Programmes and Managing Director, and line managing the Programme Marketing and Communications Manager and Recruitment Coordinator, the Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager, will play a key role in executing Koreo’s programmatic growth strategy. They will identify and cultivate new leads to build a strong prospect pipeline of host organisations, pitch to secure new partners and manage relationships with existing partners, while also overseeing the recruitment of participants into our programmes.
This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong sales, partnership management, recruitment and/or business development experience who is passionate about building a more inclusive and impactful social sector.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Business Development and Partnerships Manager, you will hold responsibility for:

Strategy Development & Implementation: Working with Directors to articulate and implement business development strategies that support the growth of Koreo’s Programmes.

Business Development: Cultivating new business leads, pitching our programmes to prospective clients and securing work placements for programme participants, while growing the network of non-profit organisations engaged in our programmes.

Operational Infrastructure: Ensuring our operational infrastructure effectively supports the entire sales pipeline, from identifying warm leads to tracking sales-qualified leads, converting prospects, contracting, and invoicing clients. This includes responsibility for our CRM (HubSpot) as well as overseeing data management and metrics tracking.

Recruitment Campaigns: Supporting the implementation of campaigns that attract diverse applicants to our programmes and overseeing their assessment and selection, as well the process for matching successful candidates into roles with our partners.

Marketing & Communications: Support the Marketing Manager in developing marketing collateral and delivering email and social media campaigns that promote Koreo’s programme offers to prospective applicants and clients.

Account Management: Facilitating high-quality account management for our existing partners, identifying opportunities to strengthen and deepen engagement with them, and prioritising retention. This will include regular engagement with partners through updates, meetings, and running events.

We are currently looking for a Head of Growth, Development & Outreach to cover 12 months maternity leave.
About the role
Reporting to the Director of Young People, Volunteer & Business Support the postholder will provide our disbursed team of Growth & Development Workers with clear management, guidance, support and advice on growth, development, volunteer recruitment and retention. The role will coordinate and drive forward our work in these area, helping the Sea Cadets to make a difference to the lives of even more young people across the UK.
The postholder will have excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload and operate in a collaborative way with others. They will have an understanding of issues facing volunteering, recruitment, retention and growth in voluntary organisations and the effective management and support of remote workers is essential.
Responsibilities
The following is a list of the principal tasks of the Head of Growth, Development & Outreach and is not intended to be an exhaustive list:
- Provide line management for the Project Coordinators, Growth & Development Team Leaders and through them the Growth & Development Workers.
- Providing both management support and technical advice on growth, development and volunteer recruitment, retention and support functions.
- Contribute to the strategic development and sustainable growth of The Sea Cadets nationally.
- Lead and manage the effective implementation of new and ongoing projects that support outreach, growth, development, volunteer and/or cadet recruitment and retention, including but not limited to externally funded projects, liaising with and reporting to funders as required
- Support and advise employees, volunteers and others on the growth and development of the Sea Cadets.
Requirements
- Experience of managing and supporting a disbursed staff team
- Experience of successful growth & development in a community organisation context
- Experience of working with volunteers and a good understanding of how to ensure they are effectively recruited, managed and supported
- Experience of working and/or volunteering in a voluntary youth organisation
- Experience of delivering externally funded projects through the effective support and management of both staff and volunteers
- Experience of liaising with and reporting to external funders
