- Deliver a range of approaches to student voice engagement, developing diverse methods of participation and innovative practices for facilitating student decision-making, co-creation, and capturing insight.
- Work with external organisations to lead on KCLSU involvement in local, national and NUS campaigns.

Developing Student Representative Communities
- Support Networks, Academic Associations and Campaign groups on-going growth and development, supporting them to build inclusive, active, and intersectional student-led communities.

- Ensure participation in representation is accessible and inclusive, identifying and removing barriers to engagement particularly for low participation groups.
Leadership Development

About SRUK
Scleroderma & Raynaud’s UK (SRUK) is the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by Scleroderma and/or Raynaud’s. We exist to improve awareness and understanding of these conditions, to support those affected, and ultimately to find a cure.
The role
You will be working with an ambitious and diverse team to lead, shape and deliver communication and campaign strategies to raise awareness and understanding of Scleroderma & Raynaud’s. The Co-Director of Strategy & Finance works closely with the Co-Director of Operations to ensure the sustainability, growth and success of Hackney Playbus and to ensure that families are placed at the heart of the charity's work.

The Principal duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
Governance
Ensuring that the charity is legally compliant, compliant with requirements of the Charity Commission and has the correct insurances in place for the charity’s activities and that these are reviewed annually.
Ensure systems are in place for the Board of Trustees to fulfil its statutory responsibilities and exercise effective control of the charity's affairs. Support trustee recruitment in line with Hackney Playbus procedures.

Financial

Prepare contracts, apply for tenders, negotiate and agree contracts, service level agreements and acknowledge receipt of funds as required.

Organise independent examination of accounts with appointed accountant
Review and make recommendations to maintain or change arrangements with accountants, bookkeepers and payroll service providers.
Income Generation
Develop income generation strategies to maintain and enhance levels of funding from existing sources and develop new funding streams
Work closely with and provide support to the Fundraising Officer on funding applications to ensure continuous and sufficient income
Work closely with the Co-Director of Operations to ensure that monitoring reports are submitted to funders in line with requirements.
HR
Recruit staff as required
Support and supervise Administration and Fundraising Officers
Ensure HR policies, procedures and staff contracts are relevant and reviewed regularly to ensure they are fit for purpose.
Promotion of Charity
Maintain effective networks with supporters and stakeholders
Network externally and develop partnerships to improve impact and sustainability

Asset Management

Purpose: you will be the key resource within a small fundraising team, with responsibility for applying and securing funding to cover our core costs, as well as grant applications for specific community activities and building projects. Background:
The Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) was established in July 2020, as a dedicated community centre in North Leatherhead. LCH provides opportunities for people to come together socially and build community, as well as giving our partner organisations a permanent base from which to offer critical support and services to local residents, including the local Foodbank and Community Fridge. Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space at the heart of the community, where people of all ages can connect, learn, have fun, and find the support they need to thrive. The Hub attracts around 3,000 visitors a month to our café and the many other community activities and events run by LCH, our partners and other local groups.
LCH has a yearly budgeted turnover of over £200,000 (2024/25), excluding funds raised for a major building project. Just over a half of this amount is from the café & tenant rental income, and the remainder is from grants & fundraising activities (including a 3-year grant from the National Lottery).
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Researching potential funding opportunities, with a particular focus on charitable trusts and local authority grant schemes. (Other members of the fundraising team will take the lead in fundraising from local businesses, schools, and churches).
- Submitting a regular flow of small and larger grant applications to meet core costs and match other identified funding needs, with support from the rest of the fundraising team.
- Attending monthly meetings with the fundraising team, including setting the agenda and updating the rest of the team on progress towards our fundraising targets.
- Maintaining a database of past, current and prospective grant applications, as well as digital copies of all grant applications, award letters, etc.
- Monitoring and fulfilling the reporting requirements of successful grant applications, ensuring that we are collecting information on outputs/outcomes set out by funders.
- Attending weekly meetings of the Operations Team, to keep in touch with what is going on at the Hub and identify future funding priorities.

The Role
Core responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and implementing content plan for social media channels (primarily Instagram, X, Tiktok and Facebook) including drafting copy, creating content and ensure consistent posting for all channels with the guidance of Digital campaigner/Digital Campaign Lead and campaign team
- Producing a range of daily digital content for Uplift’s social media channels - from simple social-first graphic design, to lo-fi effective social video content
- Working in collaboration with other creatives - ie graphic designers, video producers, creators and influencers - for additional campaign assets
- Creating reactive content and messaging to respond to current events, helping Uplift maximise opportunities for engagement and growth using the news cycle
- Community management across the various campaign channels
- Developing social media toolkits and coordinating with partners around big mobilisations
- Analysing the performance of social media outputs and their contribution towards the wider campaign, and making recommendations on how to improve
- Managing the distribution of key pieces of social media content to relevant stakeholders to increase online amplification (partners, groups and pages)

About the role
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub. You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment. Funded by the Department of Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.

We are seeking an individual located in or around Greater Manchester, and willing to travel across the North West of England who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
· Establish new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
· Supervise a small team of Peer Support Development Officers

In the role of Senior Peer Support Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, consistent, and sustainable peer support service that has a significant impact on the lives of kinship carers.
You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey towards sustainability.
As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.
You will be confident in building relationships that generate referrals from external stakeholders and in contacting kinship carers directly to secure engagement with local coffee mornings, community, and training events that will help kick start a thriving peer support group.
As you establish new groups, you will provide training to help them lead their groups effectively, and develop their group culture, resilience, and skills to function independently while offering reassurance and support to empower them.
You will be an inspirational and energetic team leader with experience in providing day-to-day line management and operational support for a small team.
We are ideally looking for candidates based in or around Greater Manchester but willing to work initially across the whole of the North West. This role may involve working to establish groups in West Yorkshire and into North Staffordshire.
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential, as this role may require travel across London and its periphery to reach areas in need of dedicated support.

Service delivery:
- In person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local and regional communities including setting up and attending local engagement events.
- Work creatively to set up and develop new sustainable in peer support groups, attending up to six sessions in person (if needed) before transition to self-sufficiency. Existing groups that are at risk, closed or need support will need replacing or rejuvenating to maintain DfE service level agreements across the team, in addition to new groups.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a thoughtful and dedicated leader to oversee the delivery of the Smart Works service across the UK, ensuring that the charity remains on track to achieve our current growth ambitions, and to also play a key role in leading delivery of the service as we move into our next strategic plan.
The Head of Programmes will drive innovation, build impactful partnerships with referral organisations and enable excellent decision making across all centres. The Head of Programmes will be the guardian of the Smart Works service as the charity grows, ensuring decision-making across the charity is always client-centric and every client has the best possible chance of job success.
The Head of Programmes will oversee the opening of new Smart Works centres. Project managing the opening of new centres will require exceptional people management and an ability to balance important small details, with an awareness of the bigger picture and wider strategy.
The Head of Programmes will also be responsible for leading org-wide projects focused on quality, that will allow Smart Works to ensure our offer continues to improve, so that more of our clients can move into employment.
This is an important leadership role within the charity, with the Head of Programmes regularly sharing insights and ideas with senior decision makers. They will provide valuable insight into the Smart Works service and trends within the wider employability support landscape.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Programmes & Operations, the successful candidate will lead on a range of activities, including:
- Ensure a high quality, consistent service is delivered across the UK (both in-person and virtually).
- Drive innovation and support pilot projects that will enable the charity to evolve, improve and help more unemployed women secure work.
- Identify opportunities for digitisation of the service, to streamline our processes and allow us to grow our impact.
- Increase awareness of Smart Works by proactively identifying and nurturing partnerships with organisations who have the potential to refer to multiple Smart Works centres.
- Project manage the opening of new Smart Works centres, drawing on expertise of other staff across the Smart Works team to ensure the centre is set-up for success.

- Supported by the Head of Data & Impact, track progress against KPIs, identify areas for development and, when needed, work closely with relevant staff to address shortfalls.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends within the employability support landscape, sharing relevant insights with the Director of Programmes & Operations and other relevant stakeholders.

Based with Good Company, a local anti-poverty charity, the Community Researcher role would design and conduct research on wider determinants of health (e.g., poverty, food insecurity) and their impacts on health inequalities, with a particular focus on co-production and other forms of participatory research. The wider determinants of health are a diverse range of social, economic and environmental factors which influence people’s mental and physical health. Systematic variation in these factors constitutes social inequality, an important driver of the health inequalities.
In addition, this role would seek to increase the capacity of local voluntary sector organisations to carry out their own participatory research, as well as supporting the HDRC programme team in promoting participatory research methods across Surrey and building the local evidence base on the wider determinants of health.
There will be a second Community Researcher post based with Reigate & Banstead Council which will focus on building the participatory research capacity within the local authority.
About Surrey Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC):
This role would form part of the new and innovative Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) programme funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR). The Surrey HDRC programme is delivered by Surrey County Council, University of Surrey (UoS), alongside local partners Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Good Company and Surrey Minority Ethnic Forum (SMEF).
Surrey HDRC is designed to boost the capacity of Surrey County Council to do research, together with our communities, with the aim of improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities in Surrey communities. Surrey HDRC will develop a sustainable research culture, build research capacity and capability, and increase our local evidence-base on wider determinants of health.
About this role:
The post holder will be based at Good Company and will work as part of the Surrey HDRC programme team, leading on participatory research and co-production. The role includes:
· Developing a programme of research on wider determinants of health inequalities, with a particular focus on co-production and other forms of participatory research.
· Strengthening the participatory and co-production research capacity across Surrey, with a particular focus on the Voluntary, Community, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector.
· Actively supporting the wider Surrey HDRC team in promoting the value of participatory research and co-production across Surrey County Council and its partners and building the local evidence-base on the social and wider determinants of health.
The post holder should have demonstrable skills in qualitative research methods, including experience of conducting participatory research. Ideally, they will have an understanding of health inequalities and the social and wider determinants of health. Experience of working or volunteering within a community setting would also be desirable.
