The role
Our key priorities at FareShare UK are to grow the food volumes accessible to the charities and community groups we support across the UK. Food partners (manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, importers, packers, catering providers, producers and others) are pivotal in helping us to meet these priorities, providing access to food and many other strategic resources. This crucial role will focus on working with our top food partners to maximise the mutual value in the relationship through strategic and structured account management. Our ability to meet growing demand and retain our leading position in the food redistribution landscape will be heavily influenced by the success you have in this role.
You will be the direct account lead for some of the biggest food accounts in the UK and you will lead part of the Food Partnership Team for managing and engaging new business relationships to drive and grow food and funding from top food partners.
As part of this role, you will lead the transition to a tiered and structured strategic account management approach of all top partners. Coordinating colleagues in the food team and other FareShare teams: FareShare Go, Marketing, Fundraising, Network Operations and Volunteering teams to ensure that top partners get an excellent service. You will work with the top food partners and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate identification of activities, and monitoring of progress, benefits and evaluation.
You will help identify and overcome the barriers to food redistribution and increase the volumes of foods available to FareShare from food partners and their wider supply chains.
Working with marketing and relevant teams you will develop sales materials to open opportunities for more food and other resources from top partners.
You will lead new business development for FareShare Go and work closely with the FareShare Go operations team to mutually agreed objectives. You will support the team to develop new opportunities to deliver the FareShare Go service to food partners including meeting tenders and developing compelling propositions for partners.
Main areas of responsibility
Business Development and Relationship Management
- Support the senior Leadership team by implementing and driving FareShare’s strategy to deliver the services that our top food partners want now and in the future.
- Develop sales and tender materials to win new and grow current business for increased food, funds and other strategic resource.
- Keep up to date on trends and key areas of opportunity for top accounts.
- Directly account manage the largest opportunity accounts that we want to engage or grow.
- Develop strategic relationships and account strategies with top food partners to maximise the volumes of surplus food and funding to FareShare through structured joint business planning process.
- Embed a strategic approach to account management and joint business planning processes for top partners to make sure that they have a structured first in class service from FareShare.
- Ensure oversight of all account activities and provides regular updates to, and feedback opportunities for relevant FareShare stakeholder teams including FareShare Go operations, Food Co-ordination, marketing and fundraising.
- Develop key relationships with key personnel within our top food partners and develop a good understanding of their structure and operations to help drive sustainable, successful relationships and engage the relevant internal departments
Business Process Improvement to deliver growth
- Understand the barriers to redistribution of food and lead initiatives to overcome them
- Develop new models of food redistribution which meet market needs and build new channels of supply to FareShare
- Liaise with colleagues in the FareShare Go and Food Co-ordination Operations teams to highlight and resolve any operational issues and support related initiatives as appropriate
- Work with the food partner to develop appropriate systems and business processes which will ensure they are managed in the most environmentally, socially and financially efficient way.
Project and Initiative Management
- Be responsible for managing and communicating key projects and initiatives and securing support from a range of internal stakeholders within the food partners and among the FareShare network.
- Prepare and proactively present the benefits of new initiatives to existing and potential partners despite the challenges to existing embedded processes.
People and Culture
- Lead, manage and motivate the part of the Food Partner Team focused on engagement and growth, creating a culture of high performance and a positive and supportive working environment.
- Support effective working with colleagues in the wider Food Team, and Network Development and Operations Teams to support an atmosphere of collaboration and trust consistent with FareShare’s values
- Foster positive change, new ways of working and an understanding of best practice
- in using FareShare’s Customer Relationship Management systems.
Person Specification

- Experience of managing direct reports including managing performance issues

Duties and key responsibilities
Support and Information
- To deliver the Sarcoma UK Support Line, a confidential telephone and email support and information service for anyone affected by sarcoma. This includes:
- Providing individual information and support to service users on sarcoma and related issues, by telephone, email and other media as the service develops.
- Adhering to quality standards, confidentiality, Sarcoma UK policies and the standard operating procedures of the Support Line.
- Under direction from the Director of Research, Policy and Support and Support Line Manager, contribute to Sarcoma UK’s social and other media as appropriate.
- To provide clinical input to the development of the charity’s information materials including the revision of existing information materials and the development of new information products.
- To provide input to the clinical content of the charity’s website.
- To raise awareness of the charity’s information and support services within the health professional field.
- To contribute sarcoma knowledge and clinical expertise across all the charity’s programmes.
Maintain Professional Knowledge
- Keep up to date with treatment and care of sarcoma through research and review of publications, horizon scanning, and attending study days and conferences, and disseminate this information within the charity.
- Adhere to the standards of good practice outlined in the AHP / NMC professional code of conduct, or relevant professional body’s standards.
- Maintain professional registration and compliance with revalidation requirements ensuring ongoing clinical education and professional development.
- Attend mandatory clinical supervision sessions.
External Relationships
- To maintain positive relationships with key Sarcoma UK stakeholders including sarcoma patients, family members/carers and support group leaders.
- To develop and maintain contact with sarcoma specialist healthcare professionals, including clinicians, specialist nurses and allied health professionals who have reviewed our information materials.
Other
- To support new work within the information and support team.
- The role will require some travel to meetings and events throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
- Attend Sarcoma UK events and take part in Sarcoma UK’s wider work.
- Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.
- The post holder will be working in a developing environment and will therefore be required to undertake other appropriate duties as necessary for the efficient operation of Sarcoma UK.

About the role
We are recruiting a Programmes Manager to work across projects in our Sector Support programme. SAPHNA is a professional organisation and charity established in 2006. We are the voice of school and public health nurses across the UK, and the Crown Dependencies. Main Responsiblities:
- Supporting the Professional Officer in managing finance, human resources, risk management, quality, operational change, board activities and business planning for the organisation.

Our structured programmes of volunteering, physical and skills-based challenges inspire, guide, and encourage young people to widen their experiences and learn new skills.
Through a licensing process, we partner with youth organisations and support them in their delivery of our programmes to their young people. These organisations range from schools and colleges to local authorities, charities, secure units, and community organisations.
Through our current five-year strategy Youth Without Limits, we are working to ensure the DofE is open to all young people aged 14-24 across the UK, and that our participants reflect the most diverse generation of young people ever.
What is the role?
This a 12 Month Maternity contract.
Working within our values and behavioural framework, the role involves closely managing the relationships of our partner organisations (known as Licensed Organisations – LOs) and ensuring those within your portfolio offer quality and inclusive DofE programmes to young people.
While managing these relationships, across your portfolio area in Teesside, you will also identify and develop new relationships with appropriate educational and community organisations to widen the access of the DofE to young people, particularly those who experience marginalisation.
You will be undertaking regular meetings, in person and virtually, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders at different levels within different organisations across your portfolio area. When not out at meetings, you will be working from home.
Whilst you won’t be working directly with young people, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are having a positive impact on their future opportunities.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a team player who has a passion for the development of young people and who will be enthusiastic, who can engage and influence a variety of stakeholders and who will be an authentic ambassador for the DofE.
You will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders and have the skills to inspire and influence them to enable young people to participate in DofE.
To undertake the role, you’ll need to be exceptionally organised, have the ability to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and have excellent administrative skills, being both computer literate and competent in MS Office applications.
We are looking for someone who has a positive outlook and who will actively contribute to our team.
The role will be mixture of home based and field based. The successful application should live within, or very close to, the portfolio area of Teesside with a full driving/motorbike licence and access to a vehicle.

About the role:
We have two events-based roles to support our training and development courses. These courses are delivered either face-to-face or hybrid and are often delivered by a team of the organisation’s members. We use tools such as WebEx, MS Teams and Slido to support the delivery. About The Role
Working closely with our Chief Executive Officer, the Operations and Systems Manager would take a birds-eye view of our organisation to help us build a consistent, collaborative and centralised approach to how we work. Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. We are an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity.
DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.
Since 2012, we have raised more than £27 million to end the devastating impact of DMD. We fund ground-breaking scientific research to find effective treatments. We are recruiting for a new manager to lead our Legacy and In-Memory fundraising team within this department, to grow and deliver Battersea’s strategy, products and associated marketing plans. They will do this by managing the Legacy and In-Memory marketing programme to sustain and develop legacy prospects, managing the budget and operational plans for the programme, and continuing to develop the diversity of the programme through testing scalable and sustainable recruitment channels, product offerings and retention methods.

Job description
This position is full-time, permanent, and based in the ADI office in London. Some international travel for several days at a time will be required. Remote or international applicants may be considered for this role depending on circumstances.
Salary £26,000-£29,000 p.a. (London based)

Main purpose of the role
- Policy: Assisting and strengthening ADI’s policy & advocacy work, supporting campaigns and engagement with multilateral bodies, including the World Health Organization and United Nations, and supporting member associations in national level advocacy work with government and key stakeholders
- Communications: Supporting the delivery of ADI’s communications, particularly where this intersects with policy.
- Advocacy: Supporting ADI’s campaigning and advocacy work, including the annual World Alzheimer’s Month campaign, as well as other ad-hoc initiatives.
Key tasks
- Work with the Policy & Communications Manager to deliver ADI’s policy and advocacy output at multilateral, regional and national level
- Support policy strategy including the writing of briefing and position papers, official statements at World Health Organization, United Nations etc. Liaison with key organisations (World Health Organization, United Nations etc.) including setting up of meetings, agendas, report notes and managing action points.
- Preparation of presentation slides and speeches, predominantly for CEO, Deputy CEO and key Board members.
- Help build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders relevant to ADI’s policy portfolio, deputising for the Policy & Communications Manager, Deputy CEO or CEO in meetings where relevant.
- Assist ADI’s communication with national Governments, multilateral bodies and civil society partners including the drafting of official letters and meeting preparation.
- Assist in the development or press releases and other media engagement opportunities, working with the Policy & Communications Manager and ADI’s media agencies.
- Monitor and report on ADI’s coverage in the media.
- Work with ADI’s Digital Lead to translate and align ADI’s policy and advocacy work to its communication portfolio, through the development of blogs, emails, news items, social media posts or other relevant communication medium.
- Support policy event participation and policy event logistics, including the managing and briefing of speakers, participants and volunteers. Plus representing and presenting on ADI’s behalf.
- Support ADI’s campaigns, including ADI’s annual World Alzheimer’s Month campaign. Generate content to support ADI’s publications portfolio as required.
- Any other reasonable task commensurate with this post as required by the Policy & Communications Manager, Deputy CEO or CEO.
Person specification
Skills knowledge and experience
Essential:
- Experience in policy and advocacy, including helping develop evidence-based policy positions and recommendations.
- Experience in preparing for and supporting stakeholder meetings. Fluency in English with an ability to analyse and write clearly and concisely about complex issues and to varying audiences.
- Strong project management skills, and an organised approach to work, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in communications, including the development of content for diverse audiences on social media, webpages and blogs, newsletters and other forms of dissemination. Experience working with the media.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, ideally with proven experience of developing quality presentations for diverse audiences.
- Experience of building constructive relationships with stakeholders across multiple organisations.
- Ability to communicate clearly, sensitively, and persuasively.
- Ability to work on own initiative without supervision, manage a diverse workload, prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Ability and willingness to travel independently for several days at a time including internationally.
