• Knowledge of Website security, HTML, CSS, and basic web development practices.

A talented operator who has experience in the commercial world of hospitality (catering and licensed), retail experience would be a bonus, either within a Students’ Union or a high street operator.

Understanding the market is key as you’ll be helping our member students’ unions to interpret current trends and develop them into successful action within member commercial operations.

In her time in parliament Jo Cox MP established a commission on loneliness with Seema Kennedy MP. After her murder this became known as the Jo Cox Loneliness Commission, and was pivotal in bringing about and influencing the UK government’s first loneliness strategy.

Seven years on from the publication of the Jo Cox Loneliness Commission’s report, we have received funding from The Astra Foundation to establish a new Loneliness Policy Group for the voluntary sector to ensure a joined up approach and collaboration on this issue.

As Public Affairs and Policy Manager (Loneliness) at the Jo Cox Foundation you'll establish this group and lead it, working with trusted partners to generate policy recommendations and engaging policy makers, elected representatives, and other decision makers to advocate for their implementation.

The Peer Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the delivery of Day One's Peer Support Service. The primary objectives are to ensure a high-quality service is delivered to our beneficiaries; to develop our regional peer support model; and to facilitate a positive volunteering experience for our lived experience volunteer team. Responsibilities will include the day-to-day coordination of peer support activity. This will involve sensitive communication with trauma-affected individuals to understand their needs and preferences, using this information to facilitate suitable peer support matches.

The postholder will contribute to building a diverse volunteer team by supporting the volunteer recruitment and induction processes. They will offer ongoing support, guidance and motivation to our volunteers, ensuring meaningful opportunities to engage with Day One. The postholder will support the Peer Support Manger to conduct regular reviews with volunteers to gather feedback on their experiences as well as supporting their personal and professional development.

The Peer Support Co-ordinator will monitor service delivery and volunteer activity to ensure it is operating within agreed policies and processes. To ensure we can evidence the success and quality of the service, a key aspect of the role will involve keeping accurate records of interventions as well as collecting regular evaluation/impact data and personal case studies.

You will be a compassionate individual, dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of support for our beneficiaries and volunteers alike. You will be empathic with strong active listening skills, able to demonstrate sensitivity and discretion in your communication with trauma-affected individuals.  You will be adept at identifying individual’s support needs and have strong social/communication skills enabling you to facilitate appropriate and meaningful peer support matches. Possessing excellent organisational skills, you will thrive in the fast-paced and reactive environment of peer support service delivery.

Day One is a young, ambitious national charity dedicated to supporting people impacted by serious or multiple injuries which could result in life changing consequences such as disability or death, referred to in the NHS as ‘major trauma’.  Our Caseworkers work alongside NHS Clinicians, embedded as part of the team within Major Trauma Centres and across the wider Major Trauma Network to provide practical, emotional and financial support to adults and children as well as their families and loved ones.  Inspired ‘by patients for patients’ our vision is that no one has to piece life back together on their own after catastrophic injury.

The National Flood Forum (NFF) is the only independent national charity dedicated to supporting and representing people at risk of flooding.  Established in 2002 by those affected by flooding, we passionately put people at the heart of flood risk management. About the Role

This is a key role to support our Operations Co-ordinator with accounting and financial administration of the charity.

 

Responsibilities

• Managing and recording all financial transactions of the business, journal entries, sales ledger and purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations, general ledger management, banking, making payments, staff expenses, credit control, weekly and monthly reporting to management, closing the sales ledger and purchase ledger at the end of each month, ensuring all month end journals are posted and any other duties as required by the organisation
• Process timesheets, Gift Aid claims and payroll
• Carry out Partial Exemption calculations for VAT purposes
• Reviewing draft contracts for financial implications
• Kashflow software experience preferred but not essential
• Ensuring restricted grants are analysed and allocated accordingly
• Support the organisation with projects and tasks as required
• Respond to queries over the telephone, email and face to face
• Previous experience in a similar role for a charity

The Community Engagement Department enables our student community leaders to gain the knowledge, skills and connections for themselves and their student communities to thrive.  

Working with staff across the Community Engagement Department, the Training Coordinator works closely with the Training Manager to support staff to design and deliver high quality, impactful training for our 3000 student community leaders across 400+ student groups, 1000 student representatives, and our 6 full-time elected Student Officers, among other student communities. 

The Training Coordinator will support specialist staff across KCLSU to design and deliver a range of training spanning the breadth of community leadership, including but not limited to: student group management, event management, facilitation skills, volunteer management, project management, assessing impact, health & safety and safeguarding, effective representation, influencing & campaigning, community organising, protecting student rights, inclusion & accessibility, among others. 

This role forms a crucial element of the KCLSU and KCL Leadership Learning Initiative, a joint project designed to foster leadership skills among students, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds.

Job Specification

Student-facing Training 

- Lead the operational planning and delivery of our student-facing training programmes, including training our student group leaders, our elected sabbatical officers and our academic representatives, among others 
- Work with relevant staff across KCLSU to implement the KCLSU Training Strategy and share and promote best practice across the organisation 
- Work with relevant KCLSU teams to ensure consistency across student-facing training and ongoing guidance and support through the Community Development Framework and the Services Framework, and ensuring consistency with policy and compliance

Training Design & Development 
- Develop best practice guidance for training design and delivery in line with the KCLSU Training Strategy. 
- With oversight of all training content, work with the Training Manager to ensure we are utilising efficient and effective methods of delivery. 
- Apply a process for assessing learner needs to ensure training is accessible for all, implementing adaptive approaches to training that mitigate barriers to engagement
- Ensure our training content is engaging and reflective of our diverse student membership. 
- Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices 

Service Development 
- Develop the annual operating plans for the Community Engagement Department's Training, ensuring ongoing quality improvement of our training provision in line with KCLSU's strategic plan. 
- Review and improve processes, using staff resources effectively and implementing efficient, sustainable and robust working practices. 
- Monitor key performance indicators, managing processes for measuring and reporting on impact and outcomes. 
- Develop mechanisms for service feedback, consultation and user insight, understanding user needs and perspectives to inform service development.

As a small, place-based charity, we often find ourselves responding in dynamic ways to local need, whether of the children and young people in Ealing, or the grassroots charities who form our membership. This role would suit someone who gets excited about approaching opportunities in innovative ways and moving quickly to enact these. 

Our Ealing Young Champions programme has been developed over the last four years, and we have secured multi-year funding to run projects designed to engage and empower local young people to advocate for practical solutions to address the issues that they and their peers face. Whilst a core group has been established over time, the way the project is run will be set by the successful applicant according to their own experience of working with young people.

We are also about to begin an exciting new project, taking over a local Library and developing it as a hub for services for children, young people and families in Greenford, alongside a core library offer for the local community. The appointed person will be instrumental in engaging with local young people to ensure they have a say in how the building and services within it are developed.

Main Purpose of the role:

1. Manage the planning, recruitment and delivery of our Ealing Young Champions Youth Voice project

2. Advocate for and embed youth voice into the work of partners, stakeholders and members and identify new opportunities to develop youth voice and co-production programmes

3. Work with colleagues to set a strategy for embedding co-production in YEF’s organisational practice

4. To provide project management and support on youth engagement with the Greenford Library project

Job Purpose

Global Generation is looking for someone who is passionate about working with local communities to create safe, inclusive and inspiring green spaces. As the Story Garden Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Story Garden and our move in October 2025. You will work closely with our community engagement team, to ensure that the Story Garden legacy lives on in Somers Town. You will also manage our small Garden Team, to oversee horticultural, volunteering and community engagement activities at the Story Garden and for a short period of time, after the move, at our new site and/or in a new community hub created in Somers Town.

We operate in the boroughs of Camden, Islington and Southwark and work with people of all ages, particularly children and young people. Working from educational and biodiverse garden spaces such as the Story Garden and Floating Garden in King’s Cross (with a permanent community garden currently being built in KX) and the Paper Garden in Canada Water, we combine activities such as urban food growing, carpentry, making, cooking, and healthy eating with dialogue, storytelling, creative writing, performance and art, silence and stillness. These practices help us to create the conditions for people to come together in a fuller and more connected sense of who they are and what they are a part of and, from that space, to practically and creatively contribute to ecological and social change.

This role is primarily based at the Story Garden in King’s Cross, working closely with our local community of Somers Town. You will work with the garden team, community engagement team, education & community programmes team, chefs, volunteers and engage people of all ages.

Main duties and responsibilities

Garden planning and management of Story Garden and related projects

• Support garden team with horticultural work, including planning and procurement

• Project manage Story Garden funded projects - responsible for ensuring outputs and outcomes are monitored and met, building strong relationships with and reporting to funders (City Bridge Trust, Future Neighbourhoods Phase 3)

• Work alongside our Community Engagement Manager to run community events

• Alongside the Head of Gardens, manage the general Story Garden budget

  Project Management of Story Garden move

• Project manage the move of the Story Garden ensuring that there is a positive legacy to the work done at the Story Garden - this will involve donating plants, planters and structures to others in the local community

• Build on existing and create new partnerships with others locally, local community organisations and TRAs to deliver the legacy of the Story Garden

  Training and volunteering

• Manage and deliver corporate volunteer days at Story Garden and the new garden we’re building

• Support the Seasonal Gardener on the running of the Gardening Club

• Work with the Somers Town Team to integrate volunteering and training opportunities within the wider area and upskill local people

  Line management

• Line manage 3 members of staff and volunteers and support their professional development through regular check ins, monthly 1:1s and regular meetings about projects.

What we are looking for

Essential

• City & Guilds Level 2 Horticulture or equivalent and 3 years experience in a practical horticulture role, feeling confident enough to facilitate gardening activities

• Good understanding of organic horticulture principles and practice

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including budgeting and overseeing monitoring and reporting

• Experience working with multiple stakeholders

• Experience of line management

•  Experience running volunteer sessions

• Excellent administration, written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

• Experience undertaking risk assessments

• Experience running corporate volunteer sessions

• Experience managing a community garden

About the role

The Advice Casework Manager (ACM) is a new and exciting role within the Advice Service, and the post holder will spearhead the development and coordination of Women and Girls Network’s (WGN) casework provision. You will be leading a team of experienced caseworkers, managing the day to day running of WGN’s Advice Casework provision, enabling and leading the facilitation of innovative, responsive, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate services for survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Service development will be a pivotal part of this role; this will include identifying gaps in service provision and service reach, and creating opportunities for service development and innovation; as well as enhancing the service profile and visibility, building and maintaining effective partnership working with key agencies that are relevant for survivors of VAWG in London.

The ACM will provide leadership, guidance and support, creating and promoting a supportive, collaborative and productive working environment, where professional growth, development and successes are enabled and celebrated.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced team manager with expertise in community, corporate or relationship fundraising. This role will enable you to demonstrate your impact by both growing the overall income within your sub-region by managing and developing your amazing team of 4 Regional fundraisers, and also through leading by example on securing new sources of income where the opportunity is greatest. This could range from new business acquisition through to delivering higher level bespoke stewardship and key account management for our high value supporters. This is a real opportunity for you to make your mark on the sub region.

From multi-year partnerships and supporters, right through to managing volunteers and raising awareness in our communities, the team you will lead is talented, fast-paced and on a mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. This is where you come in - we need somebody who can harness this passion, help us to maximise on the opportunities that our unique locations give us, and ultimately grow income so we can be there for everybody affected by dementia.

The role will work closely with the Senior Regional Fundraising Manager and other Regional Fundraising Managers in the region to plan, execute and deliver our core community income and expenditure budget, ensuring that no opportunity is left unturned.
 
This is a homeworking role (hybrid options may be available depending on location). You will be required to travel across your sub region to meet supporters and attend internal meetings at locations across the country including our flagship offices (London, Birmingham, Warrington and Belfast).
