Role Overview

The VAWG Service Manager is primarily responsible for leading the strategic development and delivery of The Angelou Centre’s (AC) holistic, trauma informed and culturally competent VAWG services for Black and minoritised women and children by:

• Leading, managing, developing, fundraising, monitoring and delivering the operational running of high-quality VAWG frontline services for Black and racially minoritised women and children across the Northumbria Combined Authority (NECA)
• Developing, reviewing and supporting the delivery of the Centre’s VAWG training to partners and agencies
• Ensuring that all service safeguarding measures are in place and that AC’s strong track record of institutional advocacy and prioritisation of women and children rights remains central to services
• Initiating, developing and maintaining effective relationships and formal partnerships with organisations within the VAWG sector locally regionally and nationally
• Overseeing representation at multi-agency partnerships and implementing and supporting the development of the strategic direction of VAWG services and VAWG Training offer
• Working closely with the Refuge team to ensure both residents and non-residents have access to golden standards VAWG services and are supported in a way that is consistent across the VAWG service.
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the service, effective case management as well as managing a caseload of more complex cases

Ataxia is the umbrella term for a group of neurological conditions and Ataxia UK is the UK’s leading ataxia support and research charity. Ataxia UK collaborates with the global ataxia community through our Research team, and we are on the board of the international non-profit association, Euro-ataxia. Our Services team focuses on helping everyone affected by ataxia in the UK to live their best life. About the Role  

You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we celebrate our 60th anniversary year.

This brand-new role is an important part of our new strategy to sustainably grow our unrestricted income. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and the wider team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead the work to build a pipeline of major donors and family trusts and foundations.

You will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which nurtures income-generating relationships with Ataxia UK’s major donors. You will initially work with a fixed-term Philanthropy Consultant to lead the development of a researched and actionable pipeline of prospective new donors, and you will then work to successfully engage this pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new function as a senior member of an experienced team of fundraisers.

Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with part time staff working 3 or 4 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 1 day a week. The role will require some occasional travel within the UK and, more rarely, internationally.

About you

The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a proven track record of securing high value, long term partnerships with major donors; personally securing 5 and 6-figure gifts.

You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored cases for support. As a key member of the Fundraising & Communications department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, and you will be a confident ambassador and representative internally and externally.

As an experienced major donor fundraiser, you will be comfortable and confident engaging with High-Net-Worth Individuals and their offices, celebrities, politicians and c-suite professionals. You will have the flexibility to join events and or meet donors and prospective donors at locations around the UK. Job Information

As Business Intelligence (BI) Developer you will be responsible for working with Hospice UK’s data to provide insights that support decision-making.

You’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels to understand their needs and develop dashboards, reports and insights which help facilitate efficient, effective, and modern ways of working and a great colleague experience.

Guided by the Data Manager, you’ll ensure that Hospice UK complies with all relevant legislation and best practice such as complying with UK GDPR and maintaining our security accreditations. You’ll also work closely with other members of the ICT and Data team. 

You’ll bring a broad set of data skills and knowledge with specific technical skills and experience developing using Power BI and SQL. We are at the start of our journey using modern data tools, with training for all colleagues planned, but you will need to guide inexperienced colleagues. Whilst challenging, this is an opportunity to shape how we work for the long term. 

You’ll be working with others to collect and analyse the data that is most useful for hospices across the UK to compare their services and understand the impact we make collectively. You’ll also combine this with third-party data sources, such as population data, which will help local hospices reach everyone who needs help. Hospice UK will use this data and insight for national research and campaigning. 

For our hospice sector data work, there are multiple data sources, some of which are bespoke databases within Hospice UK’s systems, whereas others are external including publicly available. 

Internally, within Hospice UK, you’ll work with colleagues from different departments to improve how we measure our own performance. You’ll develop a performance reporting framework which provides clarity and insight, from our Board level key performance indicators to our day-to-day operational process performance measures. 

Within Hospice UK the main data sources are our CRM, Website CMS, Grants Management, Finance and HR systems. We also use bespoke data capture forms and databases for specific purposes. 

We’re a small in-house ICT and Data team, supported by 3rd party suppliers. 

Your line manager is Richard Cooper, Data Manager. Richard joined Hospice UK in February 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the private, public and non-profit sectors.

TEP exists to support schools and trusts to easily, robustly and systematically understand and improve school engagement. As a platform, TEP captures and reports on engagement across various dimensions and stakeholder groups: pupils and students, parents and carers, employees and community stakeholders. TEP helps schools to understand and act on this data. The platform's ability to track changes over time enables schools to measure the impact of their interventions, ensuring that their engagement strategies are effective and adjusted as needed. This action-oriented approach ensures that school engagement is not simply a metric or backward-looking accountability tool, it is core to school improvement.

Alongside providing detailed school and Multi-Academy Trust level insights, we are building the national evidence base around school engagement as a lead indicator. Our research unit provides national insights and research publications to support school level insight and build better sector understanding of school employee engagement. We engage with the TEP school community to provide research insights, case studies and best practice examples to support their practice.

The Role

This external facing role will involve selling TEP, building new partnerships and networking with senior leaders across the UK Education Sector to maximise TEP’s impact. There may be multiple regions available, e.g. Northern or Southern England. The successful candidate(s) will have an excellent track record of building relationships with schools and trusts to reach strategic targets and stewarding high value partnerships.

About You

We are open to a range of backgrounds though it is likely that the successful candidate will have significant experience working in schools or education and have experience in selling products or developing partnerships with school leaders. This role offers hybrid working with 2-3 days per week in the office or on the road. You should be willing to travel across the UK for conferences, events, and client meetings (approximately 50% of your time).

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:

• Experience working within or closely with UK schools or multi-academy trusts

• Demonstrable track record in partnership development, account management, or educational sales

• Experience presenting to and negotiating with senior education leaders (Headteachers, CEOs, Directors)

• Strong understanding of school budgeting cycles and decision-making processes

• Experience delivering presentations or public speaking to large audiences.

We’re looking for a proactive and relational leader to drive the expansion of Fruitful Work at universities across the UK. In this role, you’ll launch and oversee new university chapters, manage our national mentoring scheme, coordinate key events, and support the growth of our London chapter.

A mission-driven and impact focused single programme NGO is seeking an Interim Finance Director for a 1 year maternity cover contract. The role is fully remote (from within the UK) and is full-time (5 days per week) for a 12 month contract. There may be the requirement to travel to Ghana on occasion throughout the 12 months. A busy role, in a vibrant charity headed by a passionate Founder/CEO – the role represents the chance to be part of a fantastic international organisation.

Salary is £63,000 - £70,000 depending on skills and experience, and the role would best suit a fully-qualified accountant with significant experience managing global finance teams within the international development sector.

The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive.  They have developed an award-winning Early Childhood Development programme, proven its impact through rigorous evaluation, and scaled it with governments in both Ghana and Uganda. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. The programme benefits both preschool age children and unlocks the potential of marginalised rural parents.

With around 100 staff globally, the interim Finance Director will manage a diverse team of finance professionals. Your role will include setting and managing budgets, supporting fundraising strategy and proposals, overseeing spend and financial controls and processes.  You will lead the finance team in Ghana made up of a Junior Finance Manager, four Finance Officers, two bookkeepers and a Procurement and Logistics Officer.  You will also manage the Uganda Finance Officer, and Global Finance Manager based in the UK.

The role will involve a mixture of hands-on accounting, complex donor reporting, consolidated and year-end accounts, budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and financial modelling. Xero is used across the organisation, and financial year-end is December.

Duties include:

· Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation’s scale and income-generation strategy, including exciting new opportunities for potential expansion to the southern regions in Ghana and exploring implementation of the programme in a new country.

· Develop and strengthen robust and flexible cost models (including sensitivity analyses/stress testing) to guide decisions around the pace and rate of scale, staffing & resource requirements, ensure value for money and maximise cost efficiencies.

· Develop robust budgets for new and renewal funder applications, considering complexities around funder restrictions, currency exchange and forecast economic conditions.

· Ensure that the organisation-wide financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and audits are robust, compliant and best practice to support current activities and future growth.

· Be pro-active in identifying ways to improve efficiencies and strengthen financial rigour, including leading on internal projects to enhance systems and processes to automate approvals and develop cost recovery models as we look to expand our operations outside Ghana and Uganda.

· Lead and coach the finance team to maintain and deliver operational excellence & financial rigour, closely monitoring the operating and financial reports against plans and budgets.

· Lead monthly financial reviews and oversee timely production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to the Board, donors and management team.

· Work with our internal operations and programmes team to develop financial systems so that direct financial support is provided to local government partners and they are able to take on responsibility for and account for programme budgets, including overseeing termly financial disbursements and reporting.

· Work with programmes team to build the capacity of local government partners in financial management, procurement, and budgeting so that they will eventually be able to fund and sustain the programme themselves. Create the budgets, financial information, documentation and materials for funding proposals.

· Oversee the creation of all financial reports for funders, ensuring mechanisms to track and report against restricted income are robust, and preparing financial analyses for funder

· Provide monthly and quarterly management accounts for trustees summarising current and forecast financial position for the year, cashflow analysis and KPI reporting.

· Attend trustee meetings, present information to the Board and liaise with Board members, including leading the quarterly Finance and Audit Committee meetings.

· Ensure that the Statutory Accounts for all entities are prepared, including internal information is collated and provided, external auditors are instructed and deliver to standard.

· Ensure all organisations are compliant with tax, regularity and legal requirements (e.g payroll, tax, NGO registration, insurance, registrations with regulatory authorities)

· Actively manage the performance and build the capacity of direct reports through training, coaching, holding 1to1s, setting performance goals, appraisals, developing new policies and practices.

Requirements: 

-Fully-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA essential

-Prior experience working as Head of Finance or Finance Director in an international development charity (NGO)

-Prior experience managing a global team

-Deep understanding of international charity finance - donor reporting, programmes finance, foreign currency transactions

-Strategic finance experience covering budgeting, scenario planning, consolidated accounting and financial modelling - within an NGO setting

-Must be able to start the role quickly - ideally immediately available or with a short notice period

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing Directors diaries, prioritising meetings, maintain action logs, track key deadlines, and support effective work planning. making effective decisions without director's input.

• Manage and respond to correspondence on behalf of the Directors, ensuring timely and appropriate communication.

• Co-ordinate and provide full administrative support for Board, Trustees and Committee meetings, including agenda preparation, taking minutes/action points as agreed, monitoring and following up on agreed actions prior to the next scheduled meeting.

• To lead on the collation, analysis, drafting and formatting of regular reports, dashboards and management information related to directorate and strategic performance.

• Ensuring that Heads of Department and other contributors are aware of, and meet, all deadlines.

• Manage supplier contracts, ensuring cost-effective procurement of services, processing of invoices.

• Working in unison with other Executive Assistants ensuring support across the team of Directors at times of holiday and any other absence.

• Ensuring that Directors are prepared and best able to represent the Association when attending external meetings and other events, managing all travel and other logistical arrangements.

Role Overview

The Senior Fundraising Officer will manage and deliver all fundraising activities for the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, securing general and restricted funds from a range of sources including small and medium charitable Trusts and Foundations, government departments, corporate partners, organisations with CSR programs and potentially individuals, and support the delivery of the integrated fundraising strategy for the Trust, ensuring continued growth over the next three years and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research prospective funders, doors and sponsors and work closely with senior management, and colleagues in the Operations, Policy & Campaigning, and Finance teams to develop effective cases for support.
• Research and approach prospective funders that are either completely or partially aligned with the work of the Trust and determine if applications can be made.
• Manage the process of raising unrestricted funds through letters or online applicaitions to smaller Trusts or CSR funds, ensuring outcomes and feedback received is captured on the CRM and the annual fundraising plan.
• Write funding bids, proposals and applications forms, effectively communicating the work and impact of the Trust with existing and potential new funders.
• Oversee grant stewardship to best manage existing relationships and pave the way for repeat or new funding.
• Develop and grow the supporter base, working closely with the Trust senior management team to increase support from other organisations at grass-roots level.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues and partner agencies to ensure correct data is captured on funded activities and captured on the CRM.
• Manage funder reports by working with report-owners across different teams to maintain timely, accurate and  detailed report submissions, in accordance with terms of grants held.
• Manage, maintain and present the rollover fundraising plan at bi-weekly team meetings, ensuring all approaches and applications are captured on this plan, as well as the CRM.

 The Advocacy Academy is an activist youth movement. We serve as the political home for grassroots youth organising and the catalyst for collective action. The lives of the young people we work alongside have been directly shaped by living in an unjust world, and we exist to turn their anger into action.

Young people are often the catalysts for major social change, from the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee at the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, to the Soweto Uprising mobilising young people to resist the apartheid regime's education policies, to the Sunrise Movement redrawing the electoral map across America, and more recently encampments and protests across the world protesting the genocide in Palestine. How successfully they achieve real and lasting change depends on whether they are organised and whether they have the right strategy and tactics to be effective.

About this role

The Deputy Director, Legal and Governance is responsible for providing independent, strategic and proactive legal advice to Reprieve and is a critical member of the Senior Management Team. This is an exciting and varied role in which no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to interact with inspiring people throughout Reprieve as well as those outside of Reprieve who are integral partners in our work. 

The Deputy Director, Legal and Governance will be a UK-based qualified solicitor or barrister, or have an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction with sufficient experience working within the UK in a legal capacity either in private practice or in-house environment.

The Deputy Director, Legal and Governance will report to Reprieve’s Board and its Risk Committee; and attend, observe and minute meetings of our Finance Committee and Nominations Committee.
