SEL Mind is working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver integrated support within the Trust’s Community Mental Health Teams. The integrated Care Team Approach (CTA) team provide support to people with long-term mental health problems (principally bipolar and psychosis), helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.
As a Senior Mental Health Advisor, you will be based within the existing Intensive Case Management in Psychosis (West) team at Beckenham Beacon. As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will work alongside clinical staff to deliver focused, person-centred, individual support, information and guidance on a wide range of social issues including housing, employment, and social integration. You will also hold line management responsibility for a Mental Health Advisor within the service.

Make a difference
This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.
The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.
You should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. This is a full-time role.

The Involvement & Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in delivering the new patient and public involvement and engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK. The role forms part of the Involvement & Engagement team, which sits in the Information and Involvement (I&I) department.
The team acts as a focal point for patient and public involvement at the charity, working to ensure that people with lived experience shape and inform projects and activity across ARUK. You will help to manage a key group of lived experience involvement volunteers, facilitate and deliver involvement activity and set the standards and processes for meaningful involvement.
The team also delivers public engagement initiatives, with the aim of making dementia research accessible and inspiring to the public through events and participatory projects and supporting researchers to deliver engagement. The team also supports fundraising colleagues and activities through helping to embed and enhance ways to engage supporters with dementia research.
The team forms part of the busy Policy, Communications & Involvement directorate and works closely with colleagues both within the directorate and across the charity. The I&I department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager, implement ARUK’s public involvement and engagement strategy.
· Facilitate, plan and deliver the work of the Lived Experience Involvement Group, including liaising with members and providing dementia specific assistance, arranging logistics for meetings, responding to queries, liaising with internal stakeholders.
· Support the recruitment of new lived experience representatives, with a focus on improving representation from people with a dementia diagnosis and those from underserved communities.
· Responsibility to ensure records relating to involvement work are kept up to date in line with ARUK policies and procedures.
· Helping to develop and deliver training on engagement and involvement for the Group, colleagues and the research community, working with the Research Involvement Manager.
· Work closely with the Policy team, sharing knowledge and insights and supporting their work to involve people with lived experience. Collaborate on special projects relating to involvement as appropriate.
· Act as a champion for public involvement across ARUK, effectively communicating the importance of involvement in the charity’s work and supporting colleagues to effectively incorporate involvement into key projects and initiatives.
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager to produce ongoing evaluation of the involvement and engagement programme, proactively coming up with suggestions for new initiatives and continuous improvement of the programme.
· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager, deliver Inspire Fund, our public engagement grant scheme. Manage the application and post-award processes, maintain engagement with grant holders and support them in the delivery of their projects.
· Seek opportunities for public facing activity, that engage people with the topic of dementia and the importance of research, in line with ARUK’s strategic goals.
· Support colleagues to effectively engage with their audiences, creating and maintaining compelling activities and resources that bring dementia research to life.
· Keep up to date with patient and public engagement and involvement sectors to identify emerging knowledge and best practice that might benefit ARUK’s work. Take part in groups that support professional development around involvement and engagement.
What we are looking for:

A permanent position has arisen in our friendly, busy and fast-moving Policy and Public Affairs team. The role will support Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) to seize opportunities for improving the political environment for dementia research, capitalising on opportunities to increase our impact in parliament and with government to strive for a cure.
The role will work closely with policy colleagues to help develop opportunities for influencing key stakeholders within and outside government and its agencies to help Alzheimer’s Research UK improve the dementia research environment. This is a very creative directorate, and the post holder will have opportunities to work on projects that take the charity in exciting new directions. The role is likely to include frequent work in Westminster and Whitehall and elsewhere in the UK.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
Public Affairs:
· Work with the policy and public affairs team, as well as the wider organisation, to help further develop and implement the public affairs strategy.
· Identify, develop and deliver proactive and reactive parliamentary activity to grow ARUK’s network of engaged, informed and supportive political stakeholders.
· Work across the policy and public affairs team to assist in developing tailored briefings and materials to further ARUK’s policy and public affairs ambitions.
· Keep abreast of the dementia research and political environments from national and international perspectives and use intelligence and insight to help inform the team’s work and direction.
· Provide analysis and insight on relevant legislation and policy guidance to help further and inform ARUK’s policy and public affairs work.
· Prepare parliamentary briefs, develop submissions for parliamentary questions and other opportunities presented through the parliamentary system.
· Lead on gathering information to measure our public affairs impact and report regularly, including across the organisation and up to Directors.
Campaigns and awareness raising:
· Work with the policy, public affairs, research and communications team to help deliver public campaigns and campaign messaging focused on ARUK policy objectives and help shape these messages for a political audience.
· Work with the communications and digital teams to help develop digital public affairs opportunities.
Event and meeting management:
· Planning and coordinating parliamentary events and conferences focused around ARUK key policy and public affairs objectives.
· Represent ARUK at parliamentary and other events and conferences, potentially including national party conferences.
· Co-ordinate and attend meetings with parliamentarians and stakeholders alongside senior staff and to provide briefings for staff.
· Liaise with colleagues, scientists, supporters and stakeholders at all levels.

We have a full-time vacancy for an Executive to join the Prospect Development team (the team currently consists of one Manager and two Officers). This role will focus on providing information on prospects, improving our data integrity, identifying connections and supporting the team. About the role
We are looking for an exceptional individual who will lead a team of Senior Safeguarding Case Officers and Safeguarding Case Officers to deliver a case management and consultation function across the Society, ensuring that people at risk are supported to remain safe and have timely access to appropriate support and intervention, in line with legislative requirements and good safeguarding practice.
You will have substantial experience in case management and management of safeguarding risks, and will be able to confidently apply your knowledge, skills and experience to the work of a large organisation committed to supporting people with dementia and their families.
You will:
- Be responsible for ensuring that all allegations, concerns and incidents are correctly investigated, learning taken and shared, and supporting administration is accurate and records are maintained in a timely way.
- Be responsible for defining and implementing adequate safeguarding thresholds for risk assessment of safeguarding concerns and allegations managed by the team, including best case management practice standards.
- Be responsible for the delivery of a triage function ensuring that adequate risk levels are consistently implemented in the team’s case work.
- Be responsible for addressing escalated safeguarding concerns, allegations and incidents, working closely with local Safeguarding Partnerships across England, Wales and Northern Ireland nations. Identify issues and either investigate themselves or delegate where appropriate, taking personal responsibility for complex investigations.
- Hold a safeguarding caseload and participate in triage, as required, including participate in an out of hours duty rota as required.

· Identify key opportunities to enhance the visibility and impact of our research through strategic partnerships and digital platforms.
· Track and analyse the effectiveness of communications strategies, using metrics to inform continuous improvement.
· With the Senior Research Manager, identify new opportunities to engage with and support our funded researchers.
Researcher-facing communications
· Manage and deliver the production of high-quality communication and engagement material to our research audiences to engage the wider research community and disseminate information about our funding opportunities, conference and other key programmes such as ECR and research culture pieces.
· Lead on the redevelopment of the researcher-facing website structure, pages and content, to ensure that information about ARUK, funding opportunities, and our strategic programmes are communicated in an engaging way to the dementia research community
· Work with the Senior Science Communications Officer to ensure all researcher-facing materials meet comms best-practice and wider comms plans are developed and supported for launch
· Support the Senior Science Communications officer to deliver research-related public-facing web pages and trade press
Conference and key research programmes
· Lead on the cross-organisational researcher-facing communications activities for the ARUK Conference, supporting the Senior Science Communications Officer to develop and deliver a media and PR plan.
· Support the Senior Research Manager to develop an engaging scientific programme for the conference, using insights and knowledge from the dementia community
· Support the cross-organisational Conference steering group to deliver and communicate development plans and related events.
What we are looking for:
· A degree in relevant biomedical science or equivalent experience
· Experience of working in a research environment and an excellent understanding of the experiences and needs of researchers.
· Strong communication skills with the ability communicate effectively and influence a wide range of stakeholders
· Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple priorities, overseeing budgets and identifying risks
· A team player who can collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders internally and externally to deliver
· Commitment to ARUK’s vision, mission and values
· Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent eye for detail with a focus on continuous improvement

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Salary: Circa £43,000 per annum, plus benefits.

The Role
We are seeking a receptionist for Hammerson House to provide a welcoming and professional front-of-house service, support daily operations, and ensure excellent customer service for all visitors and residents.
Who are we looking for?
Although welcome, no previous experience is required as full training will be provided.
You take pride in ensuring your work is always completed to a high standard and can maintain an organised environment. Often managing multiple requests at once, you’ll be comfortable multitasking, able to work on your own initiative unsupervised and where necessary working with other teams to ensure our residents are kept happy in their home.
You will have a cheerful, compassionate, respectful, and caring approach and good communication and interpersonal skills. With an understanding of the needs of older people and the desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of others.
