Smart Works is looking for a Head of Data & Impact to play a pivotal part in ensuring that Smart Works is a data-driven organisation, where insight and analysis underpin strategic decision-making and service delivery. 

At its core, this position is responsible for overseeing the how the charity measures impact. The successful candidate will lead on management of the charity’s central database—used across all centres—to manage client, volunteer and referrer information. Role purpose

1. Main Responsibilities

1.1 Devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with strategic objectives

2. Major Donors

2.1 Growing the scale of donations – both the number of donors and the value of donations by managing an impactful major donor programme for the Trust 

2.2 Use the Trust’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage and grow a pipeline of prospects including high value donors, major donors and potential legators 

2.3 Develop and manage a portfolio of high value donors and prospects to include working closely with appropriate colleagues on research, cultivation, ask and stewardship, including planning and delivery of inspiring events

2.4 Work with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Trustees to appropriately involve them in planning and managing relationships with major donors 

2.5 Develop a stewardship programme, developing meaningful relationships with donors and potential donors, involving them in our work and ensure they feel valued and part of the Trust.

2.6 Manage the Patrons Circle, providing a fantastic experience for WWT Patrons, including delivering engaging events and maintaining regular communication

2.7 Ensure appeal donors receive relevant stewardship communications, including holding specific events and activities

3. Legacies

3.1 Support the development of the Trust's legacy strategy, leading to an increase in number of pledges and value pledged

3.2 Identify and recruit new legacy pledgers including but not exclusively from WWT members and supporters, ensuring a legacy pipeline

3.3 Steward known legacy pledgers to maximize and retain their loyalty to WWT and to maximize their lifetime giving, including their support for current appeals.

3.4 Ensure ongoing engagement with all legators and enquirers by upgrading and conversion through the legacy cycle: enquirer, considerer, intender, pledger 

3.5 Create and run a series of events to engage potential and existing legators and legacy professionals

3.6 Liaise with departments across the Trust in relation to legacy campaigns 

3.7 Work closely with the marketing team to ensure effective communication about legacy giving with members, supporters and pledgers/legators 

3.8 Use the CRM’s legacy module to manage relationships with pledgers and legators

4. General Fundraising

4.1 Support the Trust's new Project Oversights Board, ensuring projects align with the strategy, are fully developed, and help secure appropriate funding

4.2 Input into funding bids

4.3 Support Trust fundraising appeals 

4.5 Work closely with the marketing team to update and improve third party fundraising materials, online material and guidance to enable supporters to fundraise for us independently 

4.6 Ensure that the Trust is up to date and compliant with legislation, regulators and GDPR requirements in relation to fundraising

4.7 Stay up to date with current best practice in fundraising techniques and track any upcoming trends 

4.8 Work with the Membership Services Manager and Membership Development Officer to ensure data is recorded on the CRM accurately and effectively to enable required analysis, tracking, reporting, segmentation and future targeting

5. General Responsibilities

5.1 Promote the work, mission and vision of the Trust at all times.

5.2 Work across teams to develop and implement activity plans across the 2030 strategy business plan.

About you

To succeed in the role, you should have:

• Proven experience of showcasing the impact of a charitable organisation for an audience of high-level donors, preferably in a medical science context, to foster repeat and lifelong support.
• Proven experience of producing high specification documents for a discerning readership, encompassing experience in copywriting, desktop publishing including InDesign and the effective use of images.
• Demonstrable project management experience, preferably in producing short and longform written materials from conception to delivery, in both digital and hard copy formats.
• Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders towards a common goal.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver high quality work to a deadline.
• Familiarity with fundraising databases such as OneCRM and Raiser's Edge databases, would be a valuable bonus.

About the role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Strategic Property and Asset Manager to lead the Council's property function. This role encompasses strategic planning, development, and management of the Council's non-housing property portfolios (operational, leisure & heritage, community and commercial assets). This will include ensuring the optimal use and management of the Council's estate, maximising financial and social returns while aligning with corporate and political priorities.

About you

It is essential that you are a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. They expect that you will bring a proven record of accomplishment from within the property sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of operating as a service manager in a complex organisation, with a strong understanding of property and asset management principles, ideally in a local government setting. Knowledge and understanding of property valuations is essential.

About the Role

You will use community development skills and knowledge to deliver training and support services and local organisations to enable effective delivery of Time Credits. Working alongside the central support function you will design and run local events and trips to ensure that Time Credits flows, providing opportunities for people to earn and encouragement for them to use Time Credits. You will manage relationships with key local stakeholders to ensure your projects meet contractual targets, enabling the network to flourish.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Capital Development Manager to play a crucial role in reinstating the unique man-made waterfalls in a Grade II* listed park. Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this person will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to guide a team of expert consultants.

Main Duties/Responsibilities: 

This exciting role will lead on developing designs and work plans suitable for planning permission and an application for delivery phase funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Responsibilities include;

• Subcontractor coordination: Lead in the onboarding and management of a Landscape Architect to develop existing condition surveys and recommendations to RIBA Stage 3, ensuring that accessibility is considered throughout.
• Oversight of trials and structural surveys: Ensure low carbon mortar trials, asbestos investigation, gunnite removal tests, and hydrology investigations can be completed by contractors.
• Management of Environmental Impact Assessments: To understand risks to existing habitats and ecosystem services, and develop a baseline understanding of species.
• Renewable Energy Initiatives: Ensure that Landscape Architects work alongside the appointed Community Energy Organisation to integrate renewable energy solutions into final designs.
• Public Consultations: Support in the preparation, delivery, and analysis of public consultations.
• Planning Permission & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of planning permission documents, including those related to energy infrastructure, Listed Building Consent, and new signage installations.
• Documentation: Contribute to quarterly reporting, and ensure detailed method statements, project briefs, risk assessments and other documents required by the National Lottery Heritage Fund are developed.
• Problem-Solving: Identify and implement workable solutions to challenges as they arise during project execution.
• Project management: In addition to conducting regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and compliance, manage budgets, quality, and timelines, and ensure project delivery aligns with health and safety requirements throughout.

Required Skills, Experience and Attitude: 

• Heritage or listed building Project Management expertise: Proven experience in managing complex projects of >£250k on time, and within budget, including procurement, oversight of feasibility studies, and coordinating multiple stakeholders. Demonstrable knowledge of procurement legislation, supplier and contract management.
• Landscape Architecture Management: Experience working with landscape architects to translate feasibility study findings and consultation feedback into actionable design plans.
• Renewable Energy Awareness: Understanding of renewable energy initiatives, particularly in the context of heritage sites, with the ability to support feasibility studies and integrate recommendations into project plans.
• Flexible, methodical, and conscientious approach to working with a range of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, proficient in problem-solving

Desirable

• Public Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement: Skills in organizing and analyzing public consultations, ensuring community input is reflected in project plans.
• Planning & Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of planning permission processes, including submitting applications for energy infrastructure, Listed Building Consent, and park signage.
• Technical Knowledge in Restoration & Maintenance: Strong understanding of heritage restoration requirements.
• Experience in Accessibility Audits: Familiarity with conducting and managing accessibility audits, ensuring that findings are effectively integrated into design and infrastructure improvements.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, RIBA, CIBSE, APM).

Philanthropy and Partnerships fundraising at Alzheimer's Research UK has grown significantly over recent years. The Directorate has a track record of soliciting seven-figure donations and winning significant corporate partnerships with well-known and well-loved brands such as Omaze, Cadbury, Warburtons, Roadchef and Dobbies.

We are now looking to build upon our success by launching a new, significant fundraising appeal. This appeal will help drive further transformational growth, from income across majors donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. Ultimately, it will help us funding cutting-edge research that will bring forward the day when we can diagnose, treat and prevent dementia.

The Senior Appeal Manager will lead on the successful delivery of the Appeal managing a team of experts across Proposition Management, Donor Relations and Prospect Development. Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships you will design and deliver the operational aspects of the Appeal and support colleagues in Philanthropy, Partnerships and Research as they cultivate and engage a wide range of funders to the Appeal, including individuals, trusts, corporates and research organisations.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategic leadership

· Work with the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships, and the Heads of Corporates Partnerships, and Philanthropy, to lead on creating and implementing the strategy for the Appeal Team.

· Create clear KPIs for the Appeal and Monitor progress against these, whilst ensuring key stakeholders are informed for progress and any challenges.

· Ensure the wider Philanthropy and Partnerships Directorate has the tools it needs to be data driven in our decision making and fundraising.

Line Management and people management

· Inspire, motivate, challenge and support individuals and teams within the Appeal Team. Promote collaborative working across the team and with other teams across the charity, developing a culture of innovation, openness, accountability and resourcefulness.

· Line-manage three members of staff, namely the Donor Relations Manager, Proposition Manager and Prospect Development Manager, actively empowering, coaching and supporting them to develop their teams’ operational plans and deliver on key priorities.

· Set clear goals, objectives and KPIs for each team member and provide them with the ongoing guidance and support they need to reach them.

· Role model and actively embed Alzheimer’s Research UK values and behaviours across all activities, and champion the principles of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

· Provide strong leadership and support to the Appeal Team, through coaching, mentoring and developing individuals to enable them to effectively carry out their role.  Carry out performance appraisal meetings and effectively promote team building and collaborative working to deliver the strategic and operational plans.

· Ensure all of the team’s activity is conducted to the highest standards and in line with the strategic priorities, developing consistent and rigorous methods for measuring success and sharing knowledge/outcomes across the team, department, and wider charity.

· Develop extensive relationships across ARUK to ensure that all work delivered by the team is informed by strategic and operational decisions and that colleagues provide the information and access required to deliver high quality relationship management, prospect research, stewardship and propositions.

Communications

· Work collaboratively with the Heads of Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships and Research to develop and deliver plans to maximise high value donations and support from high net worth individuals, trusts, institutional partners, senior volunteers and corporate partners.

· Lead the Appeal, ensuring delivery of a compelling and robust case for support, a suite of impactful fundraising materials, that the prospect pool has sufficient numbers and level of prospects and that fundraisers have access to a series of cultivation and stewardship events and a stewardship matrix which can be flexed to meet the needs of different types of donors.

· Stay up-to-date with ARUK’s research and other news to be able to communicate effectively with supporters, disseminating the charity’s key messages both among the team and to key supporters.

What we are looking for:

· Demonstrable knowledge and experience of major gift and/or corporate fundraising.

· Knowledge of fundraising appeals and/or running significant projects.

· Experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies.

· Experience of managing staff delivering outcomes in a fast-paced fundraising environment.

· Experience of creating outstanding donor-facing materials.

· Experience of prospect research and donor pipeline management

· Excellent communicator, with an ability to build relationships and inspire confidence and respect at all levels.

· Demonstrates strong negotiation, influencing and decision making skills, with an ability to present arguments logically and confidently

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Capital Appeals Manager (Fundraising Manager)
Salary: Circa 42k FTE Depending on Experience, pro rata for part time

About Us:

Strength & Learning Through Horses provides mental health and education support to some of London’s most vulnerable young people through offering equine assisted therapy and alternative education programmes. The organisation’s ability to deliver excellence in its service quality is dependent upon a skilled and competent workforce where learning and continuous improvement is a fundamental aim.

Strength & Learning Through Horses has been in operation for over 10 years and has grown year on year in terms of income and number of young people reached and number of services we offer.

We have 5 full time and 5 part time contracted staff members, 18 freelance staff members and work with 17 volunteers. 400 – 500 young people per year benefit from our life changing services; our hope is that this will increase to 700+ per year from 2027 once the building project at our site is complete. We have ambitious longer term plans for growth.

We have been operating in North London for over 10 years from a small stables, after our lease sadly came to an end in January 2023 we moved to our long term home. This was a derelict stables owned by the Council which we have secured via a 25 year lease. In 2022-23 we raised £300,000 to get the site usable as an equine therapy centre although it is still very run down with much of it boarded up an derelict. We now have full planning permission to develop the site and build a purpose built equine therapy centre which will allow us to double the number of young people who access the space.

About the Role:

To make this dream a reality we are looking for an experienced Capital Fundraising Manager to lead the Capital fundraising campaign for this project to raise £700,000 over 2 years in order to fund this build.

The hope is to raise £350,000 in year one in order to fund half of the build (stage 1) with the remaining funding being secured in the 2nd year to complete the build in year 2. We have a strong track record of fundraising including recently securing 5 years core costs funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and we have warm relationships that we can call on once this fundraising campaign gets activated.

• Reporting efficiently on progress

The ability to proactively manage stakeholders from across SLTH to ensure all are involved and their personal networks are utilised in this campaign.
This will include:

• Working alongside the 2 CEO’s to develop a strategy and to utilise existing contacts and warm leads
• Working closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure fundraising materials and pitch decks are high quality
• Engaging staff, volunteers and supporters in the campaign
• Manage fundraising pipeline and presenting a progress updates to the board if required
• Creating a relationship with one of our HNW funders who has connections with other HNW individuals and corporations
• The Equestrian Management Agency (who support us as their partner charity and are invested in making this fundraising campaign a success)
