The Green Exercise Project Officer will help people to connect with nature and each other while building levels of physical activity, supporting people to move away from a sedentary lifestyle and live a good life. We seek to deliver long-term programmes delivered across local green spaces, parks, riverside and coastline, to provide entry level accessible activity. They will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of the health and wellbeing projects and developing and delivering Green Exercise sessions with the aim of getting people active in the outdoors and building nature connection across South Tyneside and North Tyneside, increasing levels of physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices within the target communities.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering health and wellbeing sessions, particularly in an outdoor environment. With the experience of working within a community or environmental setting. They will also positively raise the awareness of Groundwork through engagement with a variety of partners and clients such as local residents, community groups, voluntary organisations and private companies.

Main Responsibilities
· Assisting the CEO and the Executive Team Members in the development and delivery of the Society’s many activities and projects to ensure all tasks are being completed within timelines, effectively and to high standards
· Supporting the Conferences and Events Manager in the development and running of an extensive programme of network events and workshops, and the Society’s annual conference

Qualifications, skills and experience

Job Description
Strategy and planning
- Work with the Head of Advice to develop and deliver an operational plan to support delivery of the strategic priorities, which is measured, monitored and reported up to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
- Co-ordinate activities, procedures and systems so as to promote the common policies and practices with the appropriate advice services.
- Ensure that the strategy is accessible to and understood by all staff and volunteers and they know the role they play in achieving our goals.
Risk management and compliance
- Regularly review the risks to which the charity is exposed to relating to Advice Services and provide assurance that systems or procedures are in effective operation to manage those risks.
- Ensure the use of systems in place to meet the requirements of all applicable regulatory bodies relating to the Advice Service Delivery.
- Working with the rest of the management team ensures that good data protection practices are embedded in our day-to-day operations.

People management and development
- Support team members in continuous learning that will equip and develop people to deliver outstanding advice delivery. Responsibility for the delivery of the training and development plan for the Advice Services Department including, sourcing, delivering, evaluating and maintaining records.

- Maintain, develop and monitor effective and relevant performance indicators and management processes, with particular emphasis on the application of customer insight data and feedback on complaints.
- In line with the Advice Quality Standard, work with the Head of Advice and the other Advice Quality and Operations Managers to ensure that staff and volunteers have adequate supervision and that advisers have access to support at all times when delivering advice to clients.
- Ensuring quality - actively supporting the quality of advice by guiding the team to information sources, checking that all aspects of a client's situation have been considered, checking that follow up work is progressed, and that research and campaigns issues are identified.
- Monitor the quality of advice given to clients to ensure that standards meet Citizens Advice requirements. Completing Case Checking, QAA Audits and independent file reviews (IFR) to ensure quality assurance at a whole service level. Using the insights to further develop the services to clients and skills of advisers.
- Maintain and develop standards of service delivery.
- Take part in internal consistency exercises at least quarterly.

About the role
The Capacity Development unit seeks a Capacity Development Officer to support the implementation of the Advocacy Institute Regional track.
The NCD Advocacy Institute is a flagship Capacity Development initiative designed to strengthen NCD civil society to ensure a more effective NCD response. It consists of a multi-year partnership with organizations and alliances, supporting and strengthening the growth of NCD civil society across selected geographies. Its Seed track supports the establishment of NCD civil society networks in countries/regions where these are non-existent or young. The Accelerator track works with established NCD alliances to strengthen advocacy efforts where there are windows of opportunity for specific NCD policy change.
The Regional track focuses on strengthening regional NCD civil society in their coalition building and advocacy efforts with a key element of leading mobilisation and accountability efforts ahead of and in follow up to, the 2025 High Level Meeting on NCDs. The track supports regional alliances in Africa, Caribbean, Eastern Mediterranean, Latin America and South East Asia and includes a mix of grant support, tailored technical assistance, access to relevant training opportunities (Seed, Accelerator, different thematic tracks according to the capacity needs and strategic interests of each alliance), networking and knowledge exchange opportunities across other regions. The track also focuses on enhancing the role of regional NCD alliances in the capacity building of national NCD alliances in the region and pays special attending to building close linkages with Our Views Our Voices Initiative. A key element of this track is to build effective connections between national, regional and global advocacy efforts and maximise global and regional advocacy opportunities in the lead up, and in follow up, to the 2025 UN High Level Meeting on NCDs.
The Regional Advocacy track aims to:
·Strengthen the organisational capacity of regional alliances as an enabler for effective advocacy, supporting coalition building, strengthening organisational processes and governance structures;
·Support strategic advocacy and accountability efforts led by regional alliances, strengthening linkages between global, regional and national advocacy levels, maximising global advocacy milestones, particularly the 2025 UN High level Meeting on NCDs;
·Promote and support the role of regional NCD alliances in mobilising NCD civil society and national alliances in the region, and the role of regional NCD alliance in supporting regional networks as such.

Role Context and purpose

- Manage, support, and develop staff across the Finance and Corporate Services teams, including performance reviews, training needs, and continuous improvement
- Ensure all statutory returns and performance reports are accurate and submitted on time
- Embed a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous service improvement
- Ensure full compliance with the Housing Regulator's and FCA's financial frameworks, including the timely submission of returns
- Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaise effectively with external auditors
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring robust systems and internal controls are in place
- Manage relationships with lenders and ensure compliance with loan covenants
- Leading treasury management, budgeting, financial planning and reporting
- Monitor spend against budgets and provide timely, accurate financial reporting to the Executive Team and Board
- Develop sound financial controls and value-for-money initiatives, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery
- Identify and pursue additional funding or grant opportunities aligned to EastendHomes' goals
- Driving improvements in digital services and internal IT systems to enhance customer experience and internal efficiencies
- Proactively identify and manage financial and operational risks, contributing to a robust risk management framework
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to the Annual Assurance Statement
- Represent the organisation with external partners, stakeholders, funders, and regulators
About You:
- Recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
- Proven experience in a senior finance and/or corporate services leadership role
- Experience working within the housing sector, or a similarly regulated, customer-facing environment.
- Experience of working effectively with a Board or committee, writing and presenting reports, strategies etc.
- Strong understanding of financial governance, legislation, and risk management as well as developing short, medium and long term financial plans which ensure their financial viability over the longer term
- A collaborative, values-driven leadership style who fosters an inclusive environment at the fore front of what they do
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to be able to communicate financial concepts and organisational performance insights to internal and external stakeholders

At Guide Dogs, we are looking for two dedicated Legacy Case Officers to help people with sight loss live the life they choose. In this role, you will provide an accurate and efficient service to process legacies, ensuring they are handled in line with legislation, policy, and best practice. By using your skills, you will contribute to one of our most important income streams, supporting our work in transforming the lives of people with sight loss.
You’ll manage a diverse caseload of pecuniary, residuary, and life interest legacies. You will correspond professionally and sensitively with personal representatives, professional advisers, charity co-beneficiaries, and other stakeholders to resolve legacy cases effectively. Your role will involve preparing briefing notes for Trustees, managing estate and trust account reconciliations, and ensuring that taxes, including Capital Gains, Income, and Inheritance Tax, are handled correctly, safeguarding Guide Dogs’ interests. You’ll also protect Guide Dogs’ position when property or land is involved, securing necessary valuations to achieve the best possible value. Additionally, you will stay up to date with changes in probate, tax, and trust law, ensuring your approach is always in line with the latest regulations and practices.

We are looking for you to attend the office at least 2/3 days per week, you will be required to complete a full day on Tuesday to attend a team day, there is flexibility to work your remaining hours across the week.
