The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation management (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth.
The Operations Officer role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to advance while helping scale-up the organisation’s operations. They will get to work with some the world’s leading SRM experts both inside and outside of Degrees and play a central role in building an initiative that is changing the field of SRM.
Joining a growing team, the Operations Officer will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and the Executive Support Manager to support and improve the finance and operations of the charity. This role will be suitable for an operations generalist as it will involve a variety of projects and tasks spanning finance, HR, IT, operations and governance, including administrative support to help the rest of the team deliver its work. We are looking for someone dynamic, with a keen desire to help the COO improve and streamline processes across the organisation as it grows. Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Working on a variety of operational projects such as ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations and improving our cyber security;

Organising and improving operational procedures, with an eye to using new software solutions where suitable;

Supporting financial administration by liaising with the external finance provider;

Managing payments, payroll, expenses, and processing supplier invoices and credit card reconciliations;

Assisting in the completion of the charity’s annual report, and other management and donor reporting;

Supporting the day-to-day human resources and recruitment process for new roles;

Helping improve our hiring processes and HR recording keeping;

Managing the induction processes for new joiners including oversight of employee contracts and offer letters;

Maintaining the staff handbook and relevant HR processes and procedures;

Being the contact point with the charity’s outsourced IT provider;

Conducting routine administrative and documentation duties such as managing charity correspondence;

Maintaining systems for the retention, protection, retrieval, transfer and disposal of documents and records;

Managing the charity’s email inboxes, answering/forwarding/filing/deleting as applicable;

Maintaining regulatory filings and other compliance matters with HMRC, Companies House, the Charity Commission, etc.;

Liaising with the Board for administrative purposes, supporting the Executive Support Manager where appropriate;

Liaising with insurance providers to maintain adequate business insurance;

Arranging travel for staff and other participants as required, including reimbursements;

About the role
The Global Programmes Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Global Programmes Division, helping to keep it running smoothly and effectively. • Internal Communication: To act as the initial point of contact for internal enquiries and requests for information about the work of the department, to triage or respond to ad hoc queries and to update information on the website, SharePoint and email lists. May work with others on coordinating and producing departmental or divisional level communications such as newsletters.

The Opportunity
The Partnerships Manager will support the team in delivering ambitious membership growth targets for the College. Working closely with the Associate Director: Partnerships, the Partnerships Manager will take responsibility for:
- Developing and delivering presentations to drive Chartered College membership, ensuring that trainee teachers, teachers and school leaders are aware of and join the College, including at conferences and sector events.
- Developing new partnerships to support scalable income generation for group memberships, Chartered programmes, accreditation and projects, and introducing bespoke opportunities for customers and stakeholders.
- Supporting existing partnerships and, through those relationships, identifying wider sector challenges for the College to address. This will include working closely with the Associate Director for Professional Learning, Marketing and Communications Manager and Head of Content.
Membership sales
Most of your time you will be working towards achievement of objectives (including sales and account management and supporting overall membership numbers) and income targets for the full range of products and services including group membership, Chartered programmes, accreditations and projects offered by the College. You will build and maintain a sales pipeline to report to the Associate Director: Partnerships.
Membership engagement
You will spend some of your time managing and implementing workshops, webinars and activities for groups of trainee teachers, teachers and leaders to drive membership engagement, upgrade, renewal and recruitment. This will require regular travel throughout the UK. You will also liaise with training providers, universities and appropriate bodies to support student recruitment and upgrade to ECT membership.
Account Management
You will spend some of your time:
- Maintaining excellent account management and first-rate customer service with both existing and new partners and customers.
- Working closely with Members, Fellows and supporters of the College to build and maintain relationships and expand potential partnership opportunities.
- Maintaining records in the College’s CRM system (Salesforce), and ensuring colleagues are informed of customers’ status and opportunities.

Coeliac UK currently has an exciting opportunity for a Interim Database Manager, to join our team in High Wycombe. You will join us on a full time, fixed-term contract for three months. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £44,000 - £50,000 per annum pro-rated depending on experience.
Coeliac UK represents over 60,000 members providing information and support to those affected by coeliac disease or following a gluten free diet. We also campaign on behalf of all those living with coeliac disease and undertake research into the causes of the disease.
The Interim Database Manager role:
As our Interim Database Manager, you will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of our CRM system and all associated data. As a member charity having been established almost 60 years ago and with over 63,000 active members, we have significant volumes of valuable data. We are looking for an interim Database Manager to deliver existing projects and progress future development plans.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in database and data management, a natural interest in data analysis and ideally be an expert in WorkBooks. The role is a central one, working with all Directorates across the charity, so strong communication skills and teamwork is also a pre-requisite.
Key responsibilities of the Interim Database Manager:
- To manage and maintain the master data for all the charity’s areas of work
- To be the lead on specific projects to develop our data resources including working with external consultants to build APIs
- To work with external consultants and suppliers to ensure that all database developments, improvements and modifications are within the agreed specification, of high quality, fully documented and within budget
- To manage the time, activities and tasks of the Database Officer to support the needs of the charity.
- To create management reports, document data and workflow processes and inform colleagues on issues and best practices
- In conjunction with external suppliers, ensure that the database and related systems are suitably configured, maintained, updated and reliable and that all new data and software updates are fully tested prior to implementation
- To import and export data files in an accurate and timely manner by developing an executable, report or saved query. To offer technical assistance to users and to modify the executable/query when required
- To support and assist staff with the database and related systems difficulties and to provide solutions in liaison with external partners
- To assist the charity to streamline and improve business processes that impact on the database or related systems. This may include designing and implementing new processes
- Develop and run a training programme and user manual for internal staff that can be used as a reference and induction tool for new staff members; becoming first point of call for support issues
Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the Interim Database Manager:
- Excellent experience of managing and administering MRM or CRM databases – entry, segmentation and reporting. Experience or expertise in WorkBooks preferable.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel for data manipulation

The Funding Management team is looking for a Funding Manager, in Belfast.
This role is responsible for all aspects of funding management across a portfolio of restricted funds, ensuring that we are meeting all the Funders and The Trusts requirements. You will to ensure that The Trust has accurate monthly accounts by preparing drawdown, accrual and deferral figures for the monthly finance return and regularly reviewing the Debtors Report to ensure sufficient cash flow and will manage all funder and internal audits and ensure recommendations are acted upon, sharing best practice across the team.

As a Family Separation Mentor, you will be providing emotional support and guidance to dads who are going through family separation, navigating child-arrangements within the family court system and need support with their mental well-being; especially those who may be experiencing suicidal ideation.
You will manage a caseload of clients and offer guidance with goal setting, communication skills, understanding their situation, planning child arrangements and preparing for family court proceedings, as well as building a positive co-parenting relationship.

About James’ Place
James’ Place Charity was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts, but didn’t find it.
James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. James’ Place offers men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.
The first James’ Place opened in June 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, and has to date supported more than 2,300 men experiencing suicidal crisis through our innovative and safe therapeutic intervention. We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centre and in our landscaped garden, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families.
In 2022 we opened a new centre in London and in early in 2023 we launched an appeal to raise over £10m to fund three more centres across the country. Our third centre opened in Newcastle at the beginning of 2024, and we are currently raising funds to open a James’ Place in Brimingham.

We are a small team with big ambitions. The team comprises a Head of Fundraising and Communications, two Fundraising Managers, a Senior Communications Manager and a Senior Outreach Officer. About the role
If you are a database reporting expert and can deliver reports, mailing files and insight to a range of stakeholders, the Reporting and Insight Analyst role may be for you. Advancement seeks an enthusiastic and proactive collaborator to report on and analyse Imperial’s alumni, prospect and donor data. You will work extensively on our Alumni and Fundraising database, with responsibility for maintaining and developing our Power BI data models, as well as delivering reports, mailing files and other data solutions that are essential to the activities of our division.
What you would be doing
You will be supporting teams across our division with their data needs. This will include designing segmentation plans for communications, delivering mailing files and event guestlists, all of which are vital to the daily activities of our fundraising, alumni relations and events teams. Using your excellent database knowledge and technical skills, particularly with Excel, manipulating these large datasets will be second nature to you, and your solid understanding of data protection means we stay GDPR compliant throughout the process.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and developing all database reports which are run primarily in Power BI. Your duties will include developing and updating our data models, maintaining existing reports, delivering training sessions as well as leading projects to create and roll out new reports.
In Advancement we need to draw on a lot of insight into our alumni and supporters to plan our activity and more effectively and efficiently serve our community. You will be called upon to perform a wide range of insight projects to ensure we are using data to drive everything we do.
With a diverse range or regular and ad hoc tasks often competing for your attention, you will need to keep a good track of your own workload to ensure it is all delivered to a high standard and on time, keeping your line manager and other stakeholders updated as you do.
