Coeliac UK currently has an exciting opportunity for a Interim Database Manager, to join our team in High Wycombe. You will join us on a full time, fixed-term contract for three months. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £44,000 - £50,000 per annum pro-rated depending on experience. 

Coeliac UK represents over 60,000 members providing information and support to those affected by coeliac disease or following a gluten free diet. We also campaign on behalf of all those living with coeliac disease and undertake research into the causes of the disease.

The Interim Database Manager role:

As our Interim Database Manager, you will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of our CRM system and all associated data. As a member charity having been established almost 60 years ago and with over 63,000 active members, we have significant volumes of valuable data. We are looking for an interim Database Manager to deliver existing projects and progress future development plans.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in database and data management, a natural interest in data analysis and ideally be an expert in WorkBooks. The role is a central one, working with all Directorates across the charity, so strong communication skills and teamwork is also a pre-requisite.

Key responsibilities of the Interim Database Manager:

• To manage and maintain the master data for all the charity’s areas of work
• To be the lead on specific projects to develop our data resources including working with external consultants to build APIs
• To work with external consultants and suppliers to ensure that all database developments, improvements and modifications are within the agreed specification, of high quality, fully documented and within budget
• To manage the time, activities and tasks of the Database Officer to support the needs of the charity.
• To create management reports, document data and workflow processes and inform colleagues on issues and best practices
• In conjunction with external suppliers, ensure that the database and related systems are suitably configured, maintained, updated and reliable and that all new data and software updates are fully tested prior to implementation
• To import and export data files in an accurate and timely manner by developing an executable, report or saved query. To offer technical assistance to users and to modify the executable/query when required
• To support and assist staff with the database and related systems difficulties and to provide solutions in liaison with external partners
• To assist the charity to streamline and improve business processes that impact on the database or related systems. This may include designing and implementing new processes
• Develop and run a training programme and user manual for internal staff that can be used as a reference and induction tool for new staff members; becoming first point of call for support issues

Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the Interim Database Manager:

• Excellent experience of managing and administering MRM or CRM databases – entry, segmentation and reporting. Experience or expertise in WorkBooks preferable.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel for data manipulation
• Good communication skills – verbal and written
• Numerate with necessary skills to produce, monitor and interpret information and reports

We are looking for a Fundraising Performance Analyst to support on the reporting and analysis for some of Cancer Research UK's most high-profile fundraising products. You will work closely with the Senior Performance Manager to analyse data, develop reports, and help form insight which will be key in shaping the future of activities such as our Facebook social challenges, DIY fundraising events and Stand Up to Cancer, raising ~£40m annually.

This role is not a traditional Performance Analyst role, as it sits within a Product Team. We are looking for someone who has strong data and Excel technical skills but wants to use them to improve the performance of products which are so vital to raising funds for our life saving research.

You will be a strong communicator who enjoys building relationships with a variety of stakeholders and has demonstrated strong business acumen in whatever sector you have experience in. You do not need previous fundraising or marketing experience, and this role would suit someone from an insight or quantitative market research background who is looking for a new role which makes a difference.

What will I be doing?

• Maintain and develop reports, dashboards and visualisations to track key fundraising metrics to monitor in campaign performance and longer-term trends, developing data-led recommendations for product optimisation

• Analyse campaign performance data to understand supporter behaviours and income trends and model campaign projections

• Be an active member of the product workstream meetings - updating on the performance of fundraising campaigns and using this to provide evidence-based recommendations to functional delivery teams.

• Support Product colleagues in making key decisions and develop longer-term product strategy by sharing insights gathered from stakeholders, market insights and in-flight testing

• Ensure that reports and insights are communicated to stakeholders in a way that drives impact and influence.

Collaboration is key, as you'll work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead to deliver comprehensive safeguarding training sessions. Your role will also involve liaising with external stakeholders to understand safeguarding challenges within the farming community.

You'll take the lead in providing safeguarding support to regional teams, ensuring consistency and an increase in confidence towards safeguarding practice across the organisation. Building relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally will be essential to stay informed about best practices and policy changes.

What are we looking for?
 
Within this role you will be the point of contact for safeguarding and at the forefront of embedding change. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and legislation is essential. You will also need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of statutory agency practices and multi-agency working.

We're seeking someone who can effectively distinguish between observation, facts, and information gained from others to confidently assess risk promptly and sensitively.
 
Strong communication is key in this role. We're looking for someone with excellent report-writing and recording skills, capable of articulating findings clearly and concisely. Experience in providing safeguarding support to staff and volunteers working with both adults and children, along with their families and carers, is essential.

The Role
