The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Data Analyst to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week. Alternatively, we will consider part-time hours on a Job Share basis. The role is offered on a hybrid or remote basis depending on proximity to a NEA office.
As part of NEA’s Policy and Advocacy Directorate, you will work within our highly effective Insights and Impact team, as we focus on a decade of delivery that guarantees a fair energy future for all, and ensures those on the lowest incomes and living in the least efficient homes receive the support needed to protect health and wellbeing.
The post holder will support National Energy Action in harnessing the power of data analysis and visualisation in the delivery of our charitable aims. They will form part of a process to embed a ‘data driven culture’ within the charity, enhancing our capability and capacity to:

Understand and evidence the needs of fuel poor households.

Develop and apply data insights to directly inform the management, development, and delivery of NEA services.

Effectively communicate our data insights to diverse audiences and through different mediums

Develop and apply data insights to inform and support our advocacy and policy-related campaigning.

Develop and apply data insights to inform and develop fundraising and partnership opportunities.

What you will need to succeed
You will have demonstrable and applied experience in a data analyst role and hold an appropriate qualification in a relevant subject. You will be familiar and confident in using data visualization tools and programming languages to manipulate, analyse and present data.
A compelling communicator you will have the ability to translate complex data into easily digestible, accessible and actionable insights that can be easily understood by diverse stakeholders. The right candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Finally, we are passionate about what we do, and we would like you to be too; you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of NEA’s mission to eradicate fuel poverty.

Job Title: Insights Officer
Salary: £31,500.
Contract Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week, although 4 days / flexible hours may be considered.
Working location: Remote. This post holder will be based at home, with office visits approximately once a month, and department/organisational away days which will be discussed with Line Manager. JOB PURPOSE
The newly formed Impact and Insights Team exist to provide research, insights and evidence; helping Magic Breakfast to achieve our mission of ending child morning hunger now and for good. The Insights Officer is an important role within the Impact and Insights Team, responsible for ensuring the organisation is kept up-to-date with the latest research and evidence, helping us to make evidence-informed decisions and enabling us to tackle child morning hunger now and for good.
As well as keeping up-to-date with external evidence, the Insights Officer will be an integral part of delivering research and evaluation projects for Magic Breakfast – cleaning and analysing data, creating accessible and engaging narratives, communicating to stakeholders, producing insights and recommendations, and developing ideas for future projects. Our ideal candidate for this role will have hands-on experience in social research, including experience of undertaking data analytics and producing visualisations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake both quantitative and qualitative data analysis for research and evaluation projects, including cleaning and manipulating large internal and external datasets.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create engaging and accessible outputs from research and evaluation projects including written reports, infographics, interactive data visualisations, videos and more.
- Play a leading role in Magic Breakfast’s horizon scanning by identifying external research evidence that could support achievement of our vision and feeding insights back to the organisation.
- Develop and lead a regular internal ‘speaker series’, inviting partners and colleagues from across the sector to communicate research and evidence to Magic Breakfast staff.
- Good analytical skills, including an ability to clean, manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to create engaging data visualisations that can tell the story of complex data is desirable.

As the Director of Programme Performance, you will be pivotal in leading a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated leader to join the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association as Interim Head of Data & Insight for a 9-month fixed-term contract. What are we looking for?
An experienced data professional with experience of working with a range of stakeholders. About the role
Sightsavers is looking for a Data Analyst with International Development programmatic experience and who has worked with inclusive data and DHIS2. You will be extracting meaningful information, producing reports and dashboards to deadlines, providing training and support to colleagues across the international organisation. This is a technical role and someone with experience of Sightsavers key thematic areas of eye health, education, social inclusion and NTDs would be particularly of interest.
Some key duties include:
- Support the development and production of quarterly and annual dashboards and data reports, using Power BI, Excel and DHIS2-based approaches, for dissemination across the organisation
- Conduct data analysis on Sightsavers projects
- Strengthen country office data reporting systems
- Work with country offices to map and improve project data flows.

Essential experience and skills for this role:
- Graduate level qualification or equivalent work-based experience in statistics, information systems, international development, public health or any other with a core statistical/analytical component.
- Proven successful track record of working with organisational data management systems and applying data analysis/statistical techniques to data (within health, education, international development or other fields directly related to Sightsavers’ thematic portfolio).
- Practical experience of good data quality and data cleaning practices to prepare data sets for use in analytics software.
- Experience of capacity building and supporting staff in different contexts (face to face, online) to deliver organisational data collection to deadlines
- Understanding of international development issues and a commitment to equality of opportunity for disabled people.
- Practical experience of DHIS2 for data collection, reporting and visualisation
- Experience of digital transformation, implementing new software/tools/working practices within an organization.
- Proficient in the use of Power BI, Tableau or other data visualisation software.
- Experience of using Power Query for extraction, transformation, loading and connecting data from different data sources.
- Able to work with multiple stakeholders and ensure differing concerns and priorities are effectively managed.
- Fluent in English, with experience of writing reports and briefings in English
Desirable experience and skills:
- Master’s degree in international development, international relations, geography, statistics or appropriate equivalent.
- French and/or Portuguese language skills

ABOUT THE ROLE
Data analysis plays a key part in supporting City Harvest growth and success. We are investing in our technology and data and are now in the process of consolidating several business applications onto the Dynamics 365 platform and standardising Power BI as a reporting tool.
We are recruiting for a Data & Impact Analyst to join the Finance and Data team. This is a new role to our charity which will act as an interface to other departments, to provide meaningful data and insights into the impactful work that we do.
ABOUT YOU
You will be a trained and technically skilled data analyst, experienced with Power BI as a reporting tool and familiar with Dynamics 365 as a CRM platform. This role requires confidence in working across different areas including data management and reporting, systems administration and maintenance. You will be able to effectively demonstrate and present your findings into meaningful data insights, actions and conclusions.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 will be rolled out in the first few months of 2025, and you will be involved in its roll-out and implementation.
You will have problem-solving skills with a positive, innovative and proactive "can-do" attitude, which will allow you to develop and shape this new role to make it your own. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Maintenance and Development
• Database development, administration and maintenance, using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Support improving and developing data quality processes, carry out regular audits to identify and correct gaps and issues.
• Provide 1st level assistance and hands-on support to users and departments on how to access and use the system e.g. creating guidance documents/videos.
Database Analytics, Reporting and Impact
• Develop comprehensive impact reporting and KPI frameworks using Power BI and Excel, tracking the effectiveness of our charitable activity.
• Support Fundraising, Food, Community Impact and other departments by creating reports that provide meaningful insights from data, contributing to informed decision-making and strategy formulation. Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with actionable insights to drive improvements.
• Communicate effectively the results of the analysis and follow up on requests with teams and stakeholders from across different areas of the charity. Adapt communication to the different type of stakeholders.
Supporting launch and roll-out of Microsoft Dynamics, while using existing legacy systems
• Support the build, launch, and roll-out of Microsoft Dynamics across the organisation during the first half of 2025.
• Use the existing legacy database systems to perform financial analysis and produce reports to support other departments with their data needs.
IT, data management and security
• Working with the IT support provider to help with IT infrastructure and systems.
• Ensure all activities are compliant with legal and regulatory standards including GDPR and data protection procedures.

Better Cotton is seeking a dynamic data analytics professional to join its Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team. Successful candidates will be skilled at analysing data on agricultural practices, field results and programmes, as well as adept at transforming analyses into clear visualisations with concise explanations. The MEL Data Insights and Visualization Manager will assist in compiling data from different sources and different teams, transforming, cleaning, validating, analysing data and promoting its insights though dynamic dashboards using Power BI and creating reports to disseminate learnings to our stakeholders (which range from farmers, programme partners close to the field to textile brands). The MEL Data Insights and Visualization Manager will report to Head of MEL inside the Standards and Assurance Team. There is not team reporting into this role at the moment, but we anticipate building up a team over time. You will play a key role in creating data feedback loops that will contribute to continuous improvement and influence programmatic change at the field-level and at the organization. The Challenge
We are a large sustainability standard in the middle of big transformations (moving from a voluntary standard to a certification scheme, new legislations to adapt, increased consumer demands). Data plays a key role in informing our progress towards our targets.
As the MEL Data Insights and Visualisation Manager, you will be responsible for turning data into insights and providing Better Cotton staff and stakeholders with dynamic visualisation tools and reports. Data analysis requires a lot of context and for that understanding of sustainability standards, impact measurements and agriculture would be needed.
Areas that play to your strengths
We are seeking a motivated MEL Data Insights and Visualisation Manager to join our MEL Team. In this role, you will work both independently and with team members in the MEL secretariat and local country-team offices. Your responsibilities are to:
- Oversee, support and perform effective and accurate analysis of farm-level results data, reach data, practice adoption, programme activities… among other datasets.
- Create tools for analysis and reporting with Power BI and other tools adapted to range of stakeholders with different goals and backgrounds
- Ensure regularly scheduled reporting is completed accurately and to schedule, creating content and coordinating with other teams
- Actively promote existing data insights providing the needed context, tools and improvement possibilities inside the organisation that could support learning and accountability
- Coach and support Better Cotton’s country staff and partners on using interactive results dashboards.
- Support response to ad-hoc data analysis requests from staff and stakeholders
- Ensure other departments (e.g. IT, Communications, Implementation, Fundraising), have what they need for specific meetings, and for external parties (e.g. partners, members, researchers) as agreed with supervisor
- Work with ITD department into integrating more datasets into the organisation database
- Explore existing data from other departments that could support MEL strategy, understand how data is collected and propose changes if they could lead to improvements.
- Ensure visibility of activities, ideas and potential of MEL into the organisation.
- Manage some steps on data collection digitalisation process
- Collaborate for assessing farm results data quality, identify problematic areas, and contribute to data quality improvement plans
- Ensure cross-functional coordination around data analysis and data collection
- Support data digitalisation pilots and roll out by testing apps and ensuring the consistency for analysis, creating related dashboards, evaluating its alignment with MEL needs and suggesting improvements
- Perform other tasks as agreed with the supervisor that contribute to the mission and aims of Better Cotton.
- Consolidate all the learnings from evaluations, proposals and yearly reports from our Growth and Innovation Fund (GIF) into analysis tools and reports in coordination with GIF team.
- Lead on some projects that would require coordinating remote teams or external consultant.
We are looking for someone who has
the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
Essential
- Minimum 8 years working experience in similar roles
- Degree in relevant domain like environmental science, social science, agriculture, agronomy, rural development, statistics, mathematics, physics.
- Strong experience designing and creating dashboards in Power BI from different data sources not fully structured which provide insights and can be used by wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
- Experience applying statistics to real-world data analysis and research
- Passion for bringing data to learnings and use
- Understanding the perspectives of a wide range of stakeholders around cotton and sustainability standards
