You'll sit within our Philanthropy team, working on charitable trusts and foundations who generally give up to £30,000, working with a portfolio of approximately 75 active trusts and foundations. You'll research, identify and drive forward new income opportunities, maintaining relationship with existing donors and ensure our supporters have an excellent experience.

You'll deliver high quality, written application and reports to trusts and foundations, in line with funder deadlines, keeping in touch with donors and prospects via phone, virtually and face to face. You'll match potential donors with projects, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach.

Report to: Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering

Responsible for: Leading the food distribution service and quality assurance at Hackney Foodbank’s allocated Food Distribution Centres located across the borough of Hackney. This includes ensuring all our visitors have a positive experience when collecting their food parcels and are signposted to other provisions appropriately; being responsible for directing the volunteers, working closely with the Head of Food Distribution and Volunteering, Health and Safety, and promoting best practice at each centre. This role will also involve administrative tasks, organising and carrying out home deliveries for visitors, inputting data on visitors’ journeys accurately into a database, driving the Hackney Giving Van occasionally and regularly driving a Luton van to the various Distribution Centres.

Part-time: 25 hours per week, evening and/or weekend work is required

Salary: £27,500 per year (pro-rata for 25 hours per week)

Compulsory: Must have a UK manual driving licence

Specific responsibilities:

· Attend Hackney Foodbank’s Food Distribution Centres to ensure each Centre is run in accordance with HFB’s best practice procedures.

Your Role: Membership, Programmes and Events Support Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Contract: Fixed Term for six months - November 2024 to April 2025. We are open to applications from a PhD student or Early Career Academic.

Hours: 21 (0.6FTE). The post holder will also be expected to attend and support the PSA25 Annual Conference taking place in Birmingham from 14 -16 April 2025. 

Salary:  0.6 FTE of £25k. The post holder will additionally be compensated for in-person attendance and providing support during the Annual Conference period.

Location: All roles are based at our offices in Camden London but the PSA currently supports its staff to work remotely. Post-holders will be required, however, to come into our offices regularly (normally once a week on a Wednesday). The Membership, Programmes and Events team is a friendly bunch who work closely together with responsibility for operations and output across a wide range of our activities. These include: membership, networks, specialist groups, programmes, communications, events including the Annual Lecture and PSA Annual Conference. We are looking for someone to join the team in the six-month run up to, and including attendance at, the PSA25 Annual Conference which is our major event of the year.

As the Supporter Engagement Officer, you’ll create opportunities for our amazing supporters to connect with and drive our work through various means of individual giving. You'll create engaging communucations, ensuring that our donors feel valued and understand the impact they're having on babies and their families, and you'll develop key appeals and individual giving activity to drive growth in these income streams.

You will:

1. Manage the development of individual giving income streams, including legacy giving, regular giving, one-off gifts, in memory giving and new products
2. Co-ordinate key engagement activity, such as the annual supporter Thankathon and Impact Report
3. Oversee administration and stewardship of individual giving income

• Supporting the Conference and Events Manager building the programme in the abstract management system
• Supervising delegate liaison to ensure their needs are identified and met within agreed arrangements.
• Assisting the with conference awards administration including collating applications and scores from judges
• Assisting with the development of the mobile app with an external provider that all information is effectively transferred
• Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery
• Managing liaison with speakers and other participants.
• Facilitating with the management of the conference onsite
• Producing after conference reports, certificates, data, administration wrap up
• Working with both the Conference and Events Manager and the Membership & Engagement Manager to assist BERA’s overall events programme
• Supporting the Membership & Engagement Manager with running the virtual SIG (Special Interest Groups) Forum Meetings, including setting these up, advertising and attending and taking notes during the meeting

Other duties and general responsibilities

• Producing and drafting correspondence, reports and other documents as required
• Testing new developments on the CRM system and upgrade of the website in relation to the Conference
• Acting as first point of call for event enquiries, responding, filtering and referring as appropriate
• Providing support to the Events and Membership Team in absences and on an ad hoc basis
• Undertaking general clerical and other such duties as may reasonably be required, including providing ad hoc secretarial support for other managers as required

The BERA office operates on a flexible working arrangement with some core days in the office (currently based in Camden) required of all staff. The core days in the office for this post will be Tuesday and Thursday.

As an Individual Giving Fundraiser, you’ll work as part of the Public Fundraising team responsible for managing a portfolio of Individual Giving campaigns from inception through to evaluation to generate funds, improve engagement and increase life-time value of existing supporters

Permanent, 35 hours a week

Location: Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW with working from home most of the time. 

The role 

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for managing retention campaigns, coordinating with a number of different stakeholders, both internal and externally.

• Experience of monitoring and reporting of results and other financial data.

• Experience of working with data for fundraising purposes, either in using a database to select and segment data or of producing briefs to do so.

• Work with the Senior Individual Giving Fundraisers to deliver campaigns against agreed budgets

Overview of the Directorate

The Education Department manages and develops the ESU's portfolio of education programmes. This portfolio encompasses teaching programmes, domestic and international competitions, short and long-term interventions in schools and external educations, continual professional development oppertunities for teachers,awards and scholarships. All of which are focused on giving young people the speaking & listening skills and the cross-cultural understaing they need to thrive.

Purpose of this role

The main purpose of the role is to carry out and assist in the administration and day to day running of the ESU’s educational programmes, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and managing delivery staff to ensure collective goals and objectives are reached

 Responsibilities and Expectations

 · Support with the smooth running and delivery of ESU Education’s domestic & international programmes as needed

· Be the first respondent to incoming calls and emails from educators, ESU partners and the general public, providing timely and professional responses to all enquiries

· Manage ESU spreadsheets and data across various Excel and our CRM system to ensure clean and accurate data collection and collation

· As needed, support with the development and improvement of education resources

· Liaise with the ESU’s Accounts Department regarding invoicing, delivery staff pay and expenses.

· Maintain accurate records of all bookings, delivery staff status, schools, public feedback and other relevant information.

· To support with delivery of workshops in schools, undertaking training to ensure delivery and teaching matches ESU standards

· Where appropriate source venues, confirm catering arrangements and other operational requirements regarding Education events.

· Assist the department in ad-hoc admin work as needed such as printing

· Participate in call-rounds as part of the department’s sales and onboarding efforts

· Co-ordinate the collection of process evaluation & impact data.

        To work or travel over occasional evenings and weekends as directed by line manager, with time off in lieu.

· On occasion, support young people during workshops, residential programmes and competition events to ensure these key beneficiaries are supported throughout their engagement with the ESU.
