We are looking for a Temporary Shop Manager to work alongside the Assistant Shop Manager in our Exmouth shop on a 6 month Fixed Term basis. In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes. You will manage a team of up to two with the support from the Head of Fundraising, with whom you will work closely with to develop a series of targeted multi-channelled appeals and campaigns to engage with existing supporters and to attract, recruit and retain new ones.

You will be confident in handling and interrogating data, utilising your experience to deliver insight led creative campaigns across several channels. • Planning and implementation

• Experience of income generation from direct marketing campaigns across a variety of digital channels for acquisition and retention.

Part 1: Role Purpose:

The Global Press & PR Manager will play a vital role in growing awareness and exposure of Street Child, working with journalists, editors and media houses to build a consistent and pro-active media presence. Street Child’s Global MMC team is fully integrated into the whole organisation and our primary aim is to raise awareness of Street Child and act as a force-multiplier for fundraising efforts.

The role will explore new media relationships and re-ignite existing contacts, turbo-charging the value press and media generates for Street Child.

This is a role for a high-class media professional with a passion for our mission, great energy, imaginations and fantastic relationship building skills. This role requires an individual who will be based in our London office for a minimum of three days a week.

Tasks include delivering media coverage across global outlets, supporting the delivery of media training and briefings and the management/development of Street Child’s podcast.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

Delivering global media coverage (80%):

• Develop and maintain close working relationships with journalists across a range of broadcast, print and digital media outlets, looking beyond mainstream media to deliver global reach.
• Writing and publishing compelling, engaging press releases
• Manage and deliver media coverage on key campaigns and initiatives
• Support on the delivery of media briefings, including for the CEO, where required
• Lead and deliver PR campaigns, including influencer activations and activity
• Support the planning and management of overseas and UK trips for the purpose of generating coverage and content, often with journalists or high-profile supporters
• Be available for out of hours media, this will see you handling media enquiries and proactively pushing out stories at the weekend and out of hours during the week- this is crucial to communicating our rapid responses in a timely manner.

• Monitor and analyse podcast performance metrics, listener feedback, and industry trends. Use insights to continuously improve content quality, format, and reach, ensuring the podcast remains relevant and impactful.
• Work with the wider team to develop and execute marketing and promotional plans to grow the podcast’s audience.

Strategic support (10%):

• Working closely with key stakeholders from other departments within Street Child to provide PR support, as well as developing and executing creative ways to deliver Street Child’s objectives.
• Building high profile, positive awareness of Street Child and our mission across PR; this must help to educate the public and demonstrate the scale of our impact with key external stakeholders.
• Providing PR support to key moments throughout the year, such as our “Back to School” campaign in order to achieve mass audience engagement

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious Assistant Charity Shop Manager to join our successful team to help manage our charity shop in Old Swan.

The Assistant Shop Manager will be an integral part of the wider Charity team. 

Main Duties/Tasks:

You will be pivotal in assisting the Shop Manager in leading and empowering a team of volunteers to engage with the local community, maximising the contribution of gifts of time from volunteers, the gifts of products from our donors and the gift of income from our customers. You will be an ambassador of Alder Hey Children’s Charity on the high street.

Income generation

• Work with the Shop Manager to maximise sales and profits ensuring weekly targets are met.

• Support the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products.

• Work with the wider Charity team to promote and support fundraising activities and events.

Volunteers

• Support and management of a team of volunteers.

• Utilise volunteer skill sets and motivate them to deliver great customer service and perform tasks in-line with charity standards.

• Maximise the shop’s opening hours and ensure the shop is open and managed by the shop   team in the absence of the Shop Manager.

• Help to provide and support ongoing training and development for volunteers.

Scope are looking to appoint a Retail Shop Cover Manager (Known internally as Retail Divisional Support Manager) based in the Yorkshire and Humberside area and supporting a number of Scope shops in this area. 

The Retail Divisional Support Manager involves working closely with the Divisional Managers to enable our shops to trade when there are vacancies or sickness. Into Film is the UK’s leading charity for film in education and the community. We provide screen industry careers information and advice, support young filmmakers and bring the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching.

We also run the annual Into Film Festival which enables more than 400,000 pupils to visit the cinema for free, and the Into Film Awards – the UK’s leading showcase for young filmmaking talent. 

The core Into Film programme is free for UK state schools, colleges and other youth settings, thanks to support from the BFI, awarding National Lottery good cause funding, and through other key funders including Cinema First and Northern Ireland Screen.

Role Summary

The Programme Coordinator (Scotland) is a key point of contact for the Into Film Programme in Scotland and delivers Into Film’s Programmes and projects both face to face and online within a bespoke Scottish context/approach. Due to the nature of the role, occasional weekend and extended working hours are required, along with regular travel to designated regions and occasional travel elsewhere in the UK.

Main Responsibilities: 

• To deliver various elements of the new Into Film programme in Scotland including, but not limited to, CPD/training for teachers at all career stages, events, conferences, round tables, Teachmeet style gatherings and teacher panels both online and face to face
• To develop, sustain and be the local point of contact for schools, partners, individuals and organisations that add value or are users of the Into Film programme including a focus on EEDI and how Into Film can specifically, positively reach and include those who are underserved and underrepresented.
• To feed into and then deliver the plans in Scotland across the programme (including Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression and Young Creatives (plus Into Film Festival, Into Film Awards and additionally funded programmes, as needed) 
• To work with all departments at Into Film to ensure a joined-up approach and delivery of set outcomes, KPIs whilst adhering to budgets and deadlines
• To ensure Scotland-wide reach and to feed into UK wide work and awareness of Into Film Programmes responding where possible to local needs
• Activation and delivery of the programme across Scotland including feeding relevant regional content into email campaigns and managing the regional social media account.

Person Specification:

• Deep knowledge and understanding of the Scotland landscape including education policy and curriculum, and the screen industries. 
• Experience in activating and delivering a programme of activity within an educational context including training for teachers, workshops, events and panels.
• Ability and experience in activating and delivering other funded work including, but not limited to, Into Film Festival, Into Film Awards and other additionally funded work as it arises.
• Experience of starting, sustaining and managing relationships and partnerships with individuals and organisations locally and sometimes nationally. 
• Experience of successfully delivering projects on budget and on time.
• Ability to work across a variety of strands within programmes.
• Ability to work with and agree work plans across departments in Into Film to ensure KPIs, targets and agreed outcomes are met.
• Experience and full understanding of monitoring, reporting and evaluation to ensure the programmes continually improve and evolve.
• Experience and knowledge of project planning liaising across different departments delivering to time and both managing expectations and achieving the necessary buy-in from industry.
• Awareness of the process of fundraising and feeding key information and research into successful applications.
• Experience of using CRM/Salesforce is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in enabling the charity to fund research and to find new treatments and cures.

As Trusts and Statutory Manager, you develop and maintain a strong pipeline of medium to high value prospects (£50k+), working both independently and with the Prospect Research Manager to identify and qualify prospects with a particular focus on high value, strategic and multi- year opportunities. You will create compelling high quality funding proposals to generate income for a range of projects. You will account manage key Trusts and Statutory funders, leading on all aspects of donor care. You will also be leading on development of cultivation and stewardship plans for key funders, demonstrating creative and relationship-led approach to Trusts and Statutory fundraising.

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• Experience of creating bespoke written proposals and reports for Trusts and Statutory supporters, with a track record of building and managing a pipeline of high value prospects.
• Excellent written communications skills, including ability to summarise complex information into accessible language for lay audiences and showcase impact.
• Experience of Developing project summaries and budgets and maintaining effective systems to report back on project progress and expenditure to funders.
