About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the UK-wide Volunteering Team, as the lead representative for Northern Ireland.
As the Volunteering Development Manager, you will support the development of key volunteering initiatives and projects both across the UK and Northen Ireland. You will play a key role in supporting colleagues in Northern Ireland to identify opportunities to embed volunteering across their work.
Contributing to Sustrans 5-year volunteering strategy aims, you will work closely with the Head of Volunteering to shape and implement this within Northern Ireland.
You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as partner organisations and the UK-wide volunteering development network.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have substantial experience of volunteer engagement and development across all stages of the volunteer journey. You will be experienced in project coordination and implementation. You should also be successful in partnership working with voluntary groups and the private sector. Equity, diversity and inclusion should be evident with impact across your experience.
You will be skilled in training and facilitation delivery.

Mental Health Support Worker

The Role
The Mental Health Support Worker will provide flexible, practical, holistic, and accessible support to Gypsies and Travellers across West Yorkshire to improve and promote mental wellbeing. The provision will be based on the organisation’s values including helping people to help themselves and the organisation believes everyone is equal and can be included.
You will be part of a small and dedicated mental health team at the organisation, contributing to its effective running through outreach and good communication with colleagues and members. You will be working in partnership with other agencies in the field of mental health, the post holder will work to ensure increased accessibility to mental health support services, reflecting on and implementing best practices. The post holder will work within an agreed monitoring framework for the service and for the organisation.
About You
As Mental Health Support Worker you will need to live and breathe the charity’s values through your work and have the following experience/skills:
- Mental health assessment skills including risk assessment and support planning
- Case management experience including managing referrals and case load to agreed targets and timescales
- Experience of working with people experiencing enduring mental health issues, mental distress and complex needs
- Experience of recording, monitoring and evaluation

Special Events Lead
We have a great opportunity for a Special Events Lead to play a vital role in an exciting charity’s Philanthropy team, reporting to the Co-Director of Philanthropy.
Position: Special Events Lead (Maternity Cover)

About the Role
The Special Events Lead role manages the organisation’s special events from start to finish, raising the visibility of the charity, building relationships with prospects and securing income for the Children’s Hospital and the Cancer Hospital.
They will be responsible for project management and professionally executing the organisation’s special events. Past events have included a fundraising gala for 500 guests at Trinity College, a private reception at a jewellery designer’s studio and a behind-the-scenes tour of robotic surgery at the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- You will take lead responsibility for the operational management and delivery of several Special Events, from dinners and receptions to larger flagship events.
- Create a portfolio of events that will engage a variety of supporters and prospects.
- Develop a yearly events plan for prospects and donors with consideration of cross-team requirements.
- You will manage relationships with volunteer organisers of major special events; not organising the events themselves but being the key point of contact and providing support e.g. income management, marketing support via the comms team, Gift Aid and best practice advice.
- Create detailed event plans with specific objectives and actionable plans, manage event budgets astutely and review whether each event met its objectives.
- Maintain good relationships with committee chairs and committee members where events are being organised by volunteers.
- Take the lead at events; briefing and supervising event staff and volunteers, ensuring that each staff member has a sense of authority and ownership for the successful outcomes of his/her respective areas, as well as the department and organisation.
- Acknowledge, thank and maintain up-to-date, accurate records on the organisation’s CRM database.
About You
As Special Events Lead, you will be educated to a degree level or equivalent of knowledge and experience with a minimum of 3 to 4 years of successful coordination experience. You will have excellent attention to detail and organisation skills as well as the ability to project plan, design and deliver briefings.
It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills and are highly skilled in building relationships with different stakeholders. You will also be a great networker and creative relationship builder.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Strategic Partnerships team, working in partnership with Scottish Borders Council to facilitate a strategic approach to active travel infrastructure development and delivery in the council area, as well as providing support with active travel policies and proposals for the council's planning and pipeline projects.
As the Senior Project Officer, you will be working in partnership with external organisations and across council departments to identify and develop opportunities for investment in active travel. This may involve conducting assist research to demonstrate demand for investment in active travel infrastructure.
This role will involve regular travel most weeks. The focus of this role will be across the Scottish Borders Council area. We may occasionally need you travel further during the course of your work including occasional visits to Sustrans Offices and overnights stays.
About you
You should have experience in (at least) one of the following: transport planning, land use planning, urban design, traffic engineering, sustainable transport project delivery.
You will also be experienced in working with partners across various teams, and able to build strong working relationships.
You should have the ability to work independently and be able to make decisions with minimal supervision, as well as have excellent report writing skills.

About this key role

- Able to recognise the signs of child sexual exploitation (CSE) and take appropriate action
- Ability to set up and operate systems to monitor and report on work

The Partnerships and Philanthropy team are moving through a period of change and growth which will set this team to strategically focus their resources and skill where it is most needed in order to attract, cultivate and retain valuable corporate partnerships.
The role
Reporting directly to our Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy, the Corporate Account Manager will work closely with our Corporate Development Manager on the development of new partnerships and to ensure a smooth transition from new business to account management. Create inspiring engagement opportunities and lead the development stage of new accounts through to implementation.
You will also have the opportunity to build, lead and manage staff, financial and physical resources within Corporate Account Management team, ensuring the cost-effective delivery of fundraising activities whilst maximising opportunity.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have strong skill and experience in the following areas:
- Extensive experience working in corporate fundraising, ideally in an account management or combined corporate fundraising team or significant experience of working in a commercial marketing/sales position in a client facing role.
- Success growing income generated from existing accounts, maximising opportunity through building strong influential relationships and creating inspiring engagement opportunities.
- Experience of working as part of a cross-department team, to achieve the best outcome for CHAS.
- Building great relationships, internally and externally, to identify opportunities and maximise income.
- Leadership skills, including planning and prioritisation, and supporting others to reach their objectives.
- The ability to apply strong decision-making and critical thinking skills to balance investment vs return.

About the role:
This role is based in our Islington office with the flexibility of hybrid working. As a Children & Young People's Caseworker, you will:
- Conduct needs and risk assessments to ensure each CYP receives an individual support package that meets their needs, including safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support.
- Provide one to one support to children & young people living in families affected by domestic abuse, managing a caseload of approx. 12-15
- Regularly review the assessment of risk ensuring appropriate action is taken, making referrals to MARAC and local safeguarding processes
- Consult & involve children & young people in making decisions about themselves & service developments
- Establish links with relevant statutory partners in Social Care, Education, Health, Police and Housing, attending meetings as required
You will need:

Overview of Role
Our trauma informed staff specialise in providing nurture and care to children and young people
who are looked after. We work really hard to create a home environment that exceeds the needs of
the children and young people – enabling them to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their
lives.
The children and young people that we care for can demonstrate a wide range of behaviours and
can be very demanding of time, attention, and emotions. A senior residential childcare worker
advocates pro-actively for each young person’s needs, rights and views and ensures that these are
met.
They also make certain that each young person’s individuality, difference and diversity are always
appreciated and that our young people are provided with equal opportunities and are not
discriminated against. Senior residential childcare workers encourage each young person to be
involved in all aspects of their care. This will involve skill development, problem-solving and
assessment of risk, while being mindful of their individual capabilities.
The senior role is to support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in providing the best
quality childcare in a safe and trauma informed care focused environment for young people. When

This role is responsible for providing day to day project support, working with internal stakeholders and managing agency partners to ensure fundraising campaigns deliver. This is an opportunity to work on a huge campaign and play a key role in fundraising for the Children's Cancer Centre.
About You
