We are seeking a Mission Enabler, Regional Mission to work in partnership with key staff across the Movement. The Interim Deputy Executive Director’s responsibilities will include managing senior staff at Reprieve, including the Directors of Casework, Advocacy and Policy, and working with the Joint Executive Director to oversee Reprieve’s Fundraising and Finances, its Governance and Board relationships, and its HR and Operations functions.

The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of leadership of a small to medium size human rights or similar charity, preferably with some international operations. They will have exceptionally strong management and people management skills, excellent judgment, proven ability to lead teams to achieve impact in their work, and an understanding of charity governance and finance issues.

Contract, location and salary

This is an interim, 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 2 days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

Engagement Lead Health Inequity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with those affected by stroke and those working in stroke, to focus on the health inequity that stroke survivors experience. We are looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our leadership team in the South West – specifically Bath & North East Somerset.

The Role

The project has recently been through the research and design phase and is now ready to implement a number of tests to address health inequities experienced by Stroke survivors following their stroke. The project exploration and design has taken a collaborative approach with our NHS colleagues, the Engagement Lead will continue with this approach.

Reporting to the Associate Director for the South West & Channel Islands, the Engagement Lead will:

· Lead and oversee the project tests, measuring the impact with an ability to adapt and flex as the project develops.

· Have responsibility for developing the project with a test and learn approach.

Just for Kids Law (JfKL) works with and for children and young people to hold those with power to account and fight for wider reform. They do this by providing legal representation and advice, strategic litigation, campaigning, and equipping others to work for children’s rights.

Purpose of the Post/Responsibilities

This is a full-time position reporting directly into the CEO/CFO with an expectation of being on site in the award-winning Caudwell International Children’s Centre in Staffordshire a minimum of 3 days a week, depending on meetings and events.  We are seeking an inspirational leader with the ability to identify opportunities and grow diverse income lines to support the Charity’s expanding service delivery.

Responsible for the strategic management and development of the Charity’s income generation, this role will play a pivotal part in taking the Charity to the next level and helping to change the lives of disabled children across the UK and beyond.

The successful candidate will oversee the main public-facing fundraising activity for the Charity, providing strategic leadership and tactical supervision to a growing team of Fundraisers.

You will be expected to develop a robust and diverse fundraising portfolio across several designated income strands to generate increasing levels of fundraising income year-on-year.

It has been recognised that the Charity currently has minimal market share in most standard charity income lines and this role will be fundamental in developing the required infrastructure, resource and ‘products’ to begin growing market share over the medium to long term.

A primary responsibility of the role will be to assess, develop and implement a new donor management system; ensuring new and existing supporters have a clear communication and cultivation journey with assigned fundraisers adopting relationship responsibilities throughout.

The required standard levels of customer service and donor management for all supporter relations across the Charity will be established and promoted to ensure the required levels of consistency.

This growth will occur while maintaining and strengthening the established income lines which already exist, such as Events and Challenges.

Events are a part of Caudwell Children’s DNA and the single largest income generator in the Charity’s Fundraising Department, therefore there will be a specific focus on maintaining and developing this important department.

The role will initially be responsible for developing two designated teams of fundraising colleagues:

• Individual Giving (Team size: 3)
  • (Wills & Legacy, Regular Gifts/Direct Debit, Major Gifts, Raffle/Lottery, Payroll Giving).
• Community Fundraising (Team size: 6)
  • (Events, Challenges, Mass Participation, Street Collections).

Remaining income streams (Trusts & Foundations, Public Sector Funding, Earned Income and Trading Income) will be managed by the Director of Corporate Fundraising.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team the successful candidate will be responsible for reporting to the CEO/CFO and fellow Directors regularly on strategy and performance.

Monthly reporting to the Trustee Board and regular ad-hoc correspondence with Trustees will also be required.  

Success will be monitored annually by the Trustee Board against KPI’s including income growth, ROI and market share.

Your responsibilities will include:

Programme Development and Implementation

• Develop and implement mentoring programme and initiatives in alignment with the BelEve's goals and objectives.
• Implement programme guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness in mentoring relationships.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify programme needs, goals, and target populations.

Mentor and Mentee Recruitment and Training

• Recruit and screen potential mentors and mentees, ensuring they meet programme criteria and expectations.
• Conduct training sessions for mentors and mentees, providing guidance on programme goals, roles, and responsibilities.
• Match mentors and mentees based on compatibility, interests, and goals, and facilitate introductions and initial meetings.

Relationship Management and Support

• Provide ongoing support and guidance to mentors and mentees throughout the duration of the mentoring relationship.
• Facilitate regular check-ins and evaluations to assess progress, address challenges, and provide feedback and support.
• Mediate conflicts or issues that may arise between mentors and mentees, providing guidance and resolution as needed.

Programme Evaluation and Reporting

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of mentoring relationships and programme activities, collecting feedback and data to assess impact and outcomes.
• Prepare regular reports on programme metrics, accomplishments, and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.
• Use evaluation findings to inform programme improvements and enhancements.
• Effectively deliver against the agreed Programme KPI’s

Collaboration and Outreach

• Collaborate with internal and external partners, including schools, and community organisations to promote mentoring opportunities and expand programme reach.
• Represent BelEve at events, meetings, and conferences to raise awareness of the mentoring programme and recruit participants.
• Develop and maintain relationships with mentors, mentees, and partner organisations to support programme sustainability and growth.

Safeguarding

• Act as the Deputy Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
• Collaborate with the Safeguarding Lead to review, update, and develop safeguarding policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
• Support the dissemination and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures throughout the mentoring programme.
• Provide support and guidance to staff, volunteers, and stakeholders on safeguarding-related matters, including responding to queries, concerns, and disclosures in a timely and appropriate manner.

Community Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with our community organisations, schools, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration and resource-sharing for youth development efforts.

Job summary 

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Education Coordinator, passionate about community-based learning to join our small and friendly team. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery and development of all aspects of the work of the adult and family learning programme and will have the opportunity to develop other provision at the centre. Our adult learning programme supports over 250 local adults each year through a range of programmes designed to improve their English language, digital and maths skills and increase their employability and involvement in the community. Our family learning programme supports over 200 children with online after-school classes in Maths, English and Science. You would also be responsible for coordinating 6 teachers remotely to deliver weekly online after-school classes for Year 3 to Year 9 in all three subjects. We also deliver a range of informal family learning provision across our Family Programme services to over 1000 users, and some of these programmes may be included in our Adult Education offer and so you will be required to support with the administration of these activities. 

The Education Coordinator will be based at our centre at 2 Thorpe Close W10 5XL and will have responsibility for working with the heads of departments, tutors and education administrator, to plan and deliver the learning programme. The successful candidate will have a full UK teaching qualification in the Further Education sector, and delivery of FSE/ESOL at various levels would be desirable; have excellent leadership and inter-personal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; be highly organised and efficient.

The salary is £33,500 per annum and in addition to bank holidays we offer 25 days’ annual leave, additional Christmas time leave, a pension scheme, cycle to work scheme and a comprehensive training programme.

The employment is subject to a probational period of twenty-six weeks from your start date of employment with Nova, during which time you will be required to demonstrate to the leadership team’s satisfaction your suitability for the position in which you are employed.

The successful candidate must: 

• Have a degree or equivalent and a full UK teaching qualification in the Further Education sector or equivalent experience.

• Desirable Experience

Responsibilities/ Core duties:  

• To organise, administer and develop all aspects of the learning programme and achieve given targets for retention, achievement, pass rates and other set KPIs in all curriculum areas, including Adult Education and children’s after-school classes delivered by our Family Programme. 

• To overview the accredited and non-accredited learning courses and develop curricula as appropriate. 

• To organise appropriate accreditation in each curriculum area and ensure that the requirements of the awarding body/ies are met as an internal verifier, and ensure that all paperwork meets the required standard of the awarding body/ies. 

• To ensure that the RARPA process is fully implemented. 

• To ensure compliance with OFSTED rules and procedures. 

• To plan progression routes into further learning or employment. 

• To work within the agreed departmental budgets and targets set by funders. 

• To manage the teachers and tutors, including regular observations, performance management and professional support, including children’s teachers delivering after-school classes remotely. 

• To identify and assess the continuous professional development needs of tutors and organise and facilitate education team meetings, including the Family Programme children’s teachers. 

• To keep up to date with national and regional developments in adult learning and cascade the information appropriately. 

• To plan and monitor the programme of courses in each area of the curriculum including liaison and/or partnership with other organisations, timetabling, holiday cover, including the Family Programme after school classes for children. 

• To oversee volunteer tutors to include monitoring, feedback and follow-up and ensure the line managers are assigned for specific subjects, including volunteer online classroom assistants or teachers for the Family Programme. 

• To maintain a Tutor Area on Share Point with examples of best practice and practical tips and advice for both Adult Education and Family Programme. 

• To ensure compliance with all necessary regulations and legal requirements, including Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety and Safeguarding of vulnerable groups. 

• To oversee internal and external data input and use data on enrolment, retention and achievement to monitor and plan provision. 

• To monitor and report on Children’s classroom attendance and learning progress in our Family Programme classes. 

• To prepare and present written reports to Heads of Department, trustees and funders as required, to include the analysis of attendance and achievement data

• To attend staff and trustee meetings, as required. 

• To prepare and present the annual and termly quality assurance and learner progress documents (eg. SAR – Self Assessment Report). 

• To oversee examinations across the organization and work with the exam boards in meeting their standards and requirements. 

• To maintain and develop our links with other organisations within the local area and London-wide. 

• To market and promote courses and services in order to attract potential learners through local schools, public organisations and community networks. 

• To deliver agreed elements of the learning courses and prepare syllabuses, evaluate individual lesson plans, schemes of work, sessions and courses. 

• To be available to cover, or arrange cover, to ensure all planned classes and courses go ahead. 

• To encourage students to extend their engagement in the community and to play a full part in the activities of the charity. 

• To create/ collate and manage calendar of events for Education, organise trips, workshops and talks for adult learners. 

• To provide a work environment that engenders positive energy, creativity and teamwork, to include regular tutor meetings and listen to/ act upon issues and concerns and by setting a professional example. 

• To support the wider work of the charity and undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

Experience of internal verification and observation of teaching. Excellent inter-personal and management skills; excellent written English and digital skills; efficient organisation skills; an outstanding teacher; creativity and innovation.

Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.
