We are seeking to appoint seven Advisory panel members for the following committees:
Companies Committee (one dispensing optician, one optometrist and one business registrant)
Education Committee (one dispensing optician and one registered medical practitioner)
Registration Committee (one dispensing optician and one lay member)

About the GOC
We are the regulator for the optical professions in the UK. Our purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct.
About the Advisory Panel
The Advisory Panel is a meeting of the four Council’s committees (Companies, Education, Registration and Standards) in plenary session. They are established by statute for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to Council (whether or not in response to a request from them) on:
· matters relating to business registrants other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be referred to the Investigation Committee, the Registration Appeals Committee or the Fitness to Practise Committee;
· matters relating to optical training, education and assessment;
· matters relating to registration, other than matters required by the Opticians Act to be considered by the Registration Appeals Committee; and
· matters relating to the standards of conduct and performance expected of registrants or those seeking admission to the register.
The committees and the Advisory Panel meet about twice a year. You can read the current terms of reference for the Advisory Panel, Education Committee, Registration Committee and Standards Committee.
Remuneration and time commitment
A daily fee of £319 will be paid. This is in line with our member fees policy and member fee schedule. This is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance (NI) contributions. It is not pensionable.
Members can claim expenses for travel and subsistence costs incurred on Council business as set out in our expenses policy.
This role is part time with a commitment of approximately 2-3 days per year, including time spent preparing for meetings. Meetings will usually take place via MS Teams but may on occasion be held at the GOC Offices in London or other suitable venues.

he role of the Operations Officer (Licensing and Compliance) is to support the coordination, development and delivery of licensing and compliance processes and procedures across the Award Association.
The Operations Officer (Licensing and Compliance) will assist the Senior Licensing and Compliance Manager and other members of the Operations Team to ensure that, through the consistent and proactive use of standards, policies and quality assurance processes, backed up by effective licensing, the intellectual property and good reputation of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is effectively protected.
The role will work closely with Operations Directors and Operations Managers to assist predominantly with compliance management for all Award Operators, including National Award Operators (NAOs), Operating Partners (OPs) and Independent Award Centres (IACs).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Operations Managers and the Senior Licensing and Compliance Manager with NAO, IAC and OP licence reviews/compliance checks including but not limited to providing administration support, drafting content where required and reviewing reports.
- Assist the Senior Licensing and Compliance Manager with issuing of and drafting correspondence in relation to all licence documentation (terminations, licence extensions, agreements, and certificates etc).
- Assist the Senior Licensing and Compliance Manager and Operations Managers with the ongoing compliance management process for NAOs and OPs.
- Review policies and operational procedures submitted by Operators to ensure they are compliant with the International Award Foundation (IAF) standards and provide feedback/guidance where necessary.
- Assist the Licensing and Compliance Manager to disseminate information regarding licensing and quality assurance processes to Foundation colleagues, and to the wider Association when appropriate.
- Fulfil the role of lead reviewer on licence reviews for all Operators as required.
- Assist, where necessary, the development and maintenance of key Award Foundation and Association policies, including periodic reviews and updates where necessary.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as required.

Responsibilities
- You will be implementing the existing workplan for 2025, complemented with your own input into maximising CleanupUK’s revenue from trusts, foundations and The Lottery
- You will be managing the Local/Regional Trust and Foundation Fundraiser to help them maximise their revenue
- In conjunction with the Chief Executive, you will be nurturing the key funder relationships that CleanupUK already has
- You will be developing strong and close relationships with new key trust and foundation funders
- You will be working closely with our Corporate Partnerships and Operations teams

The team and role overview
Reporting lines: Main point of contact will be the Chair of Board when agreeing Board minutes/other tasks but will regularly liaise directly with Ben Simms (CEO) and/or Saf Rahbour (COO) when agreeing Board minutes/other tasks.
2-4 consulting days per month, within the period of April 2025 to March 2026 taking into account the Consultant’s prior commitments. Please note there will be a degree of flexibility within this, with some weeks requiring more capacity, others much less. The timing of deliverables will always be agreed in advance with the Consultant.
The contract is for 36 days maximum over a 12-month period. The Consultant will receive a daily rate (£250-£350) dependent upon experience and qualifications. The consultant will invoice GHP on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable and will cover all expenses apart from project-related travel and communication expenses. Where reasonable travel and communications expenses are incurred, the Consultant will be remunerated following the submission of timely and accurate receipts.
Receipts must be kept, where possible, in order to claim for support costs. Consultants will not be expected to use their own funds to cover project-related costs.
Invoices must be submitted monthly in £ GBP and the HRMC exchange rate used to calculate any support costs expenses. The monthly exchange rate to be used should match the month the costs were made (and the month should match the receipt).

The Head of Fundraising will lead our income generation strategy to ensure The Girls’ Network can continue empowering young women from the least advantaged backgrounds. Key roles and responsibilities
Fundraising
· Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to define and meet annual income targets from corporate partners, Trusts & Foundations, individuals and third party events, identifying opportunities for growth
· Identify, steward and secure high value relationships with corporate partners, Trusts & Foundations and major donors to achieve and exceed own targets, working with the support of the CEO, as required

Leadership

Staff Management

· Lead and support the Fundraising Manager and Partnerships Manager to achieve their targets from corporate partners and Trusts & Foundations, tracking performance through quarterly reports, including pipeline values
· Work closely with Communications Manager to ensure fundraising opportunities and campaigns are coordinated in a timely fashion to the correct audiences.
· Handle administrative duties such as recruitment, training, performance management seeking support from HR as required

Fundraising expertise
· Significant experience (5+ years) gained in senior fundraising and within the not for profit sector
· Significant experience in developing effective fundraising and communications strategies to meet organisational goals, leading teams to achieve success
· Proven experience overseeing a Trusts & Foundations programme, including pipeline and prospect management to meet multi-year targets
· Excellent written skills with the ability to produce a concise, compelling and creative case for support
· Financial analysis skills to track and report on quarterly income performance
Relationship Management

Our charity, the Jon Egging Trust, is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience of working with young people, to plan and deliver inspiring teamwork, leadership and employability programmes in North Wales. The role involves liaising with school staff, local partners (including the Military and local businesses) and volunteers to ensure programmes meet the needs of our young people and is supported by the Regional Manager, North Wales.
The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Anglesey, Bangor and occasionally along the A55 corridor. Fuel expenses are paid and travel time is included as part of working hours. Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.

Bond gets nearly half its income from restricted funding, so it is critical part of becoming a financially resilient organisation with a diverse income portfolio, able to adapt to external cost pressures and having scope to invest in the work it wants to do.As our members shrink their UK presence, Bond’s membership income is reducing accordingly, and so we need to increase our access to restricted fundraising to compensate and allow us to continue to deliver our strategy.
Bond has strengths and weaknesses when it comes to fundraising. Our strength is our unique place in the UK sector, our structured relationships with the UK government and our key role in global networks, including around key processes such as the G7 and G20. Our main selling point for funders is that an investment in Bond can reach our 365 members, the UK government and the key global institutions in which it plays a key role. We have also demonstrated thought leadership on key issues, including anti-racism, economic justice, sector transformation, civic space, decolonization and development finance. We have access to unrestricted funding from our members, and funding from the FCDO, which can be used to co-finance other initiatives. Our weakness is that, as a UK based network, we cannot easily demonstrate the kind of ‘on the ground’ impacts that other organisations can, and we risk being deprioritized by UK funders who want to fund UK work, and those interested in work in LMICs who (rightly) want to prioritise spending in those countries. We are also rightly focused on our member priorities and positioning, which can limit access to some funding streams, as we are clear that we will only work on areas that are of sufficient priority for our members.
Moreover, many of the key trusts and foundations that Bond is targeting rely on relationship building and networking rather than a formal application process. We need to build up our profile and relationships with these funders, especially those in the US.
We are looking for a part-time fundraising director, to work on a consultancy basis, to support us in securing the next phase of these large grants and helping us to identify and engage with other funders to diversify our funding sources. This role combines coordination with building strong relationships and supporting Bond managers and leaders to secure our funding into the future. The person will lead an informal team of staff drawn from across the organisation (which meets fortnightly) and work closely with the CEO and Directors to establish and maintain relationships with key donors. They will also play a key role in upskilling and developing staff capacity to fundraise within Bond and coordinating our efforts.
We have done a significant amount of groundwork and initial scoping of trusts and foundations over 24/25, so this new director’s role will be to help us in opening doors and building relationships with priority funders. The director will also help to support the CEO, Senior Management Team and our managers to identify and build relationships with funders, strengthen networks and sharpen up our pitch. The director will also provide strategic advice and guidance to the SMT as to how we might strengthen our work areas to better attract additional funding, building on some consultancy on our finance model that is currently ongoing.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in fundraising from major donors and a strong interest in and understanding of the international development sector and the role of networks within that sector. They will have significant existing relationships and networks amongst the major donors likely to fund Bond’s work. They will be excellent at bringing teams together to submit bids, overseeing active funder management and finding the best relationships from which to secure funds.
Main purpose of the job
The main purpose of the job is to support Bond to secure the next phase of Bond’s large grants and to identify and engage with new and existing funders to diversify our funding sources.
Main responsibilities
We envisage that this role will deliver:
- Lead our overall approach with donors and ensure key relationships are nurtured (through the SMT and key managers).
- Build and manage relationships with key funders and sure introductions are made to relevant Bond staff members. Monitor trends in key donor agencies (new leadership, new strategies etc) and ensure that Bond staff can make the most of these opportunities.
- Work with the SMT and extended management team (EMT) to create and sustain a culture of fundraising within Bond
- Provide high level, strategic advice to Bond staff as to entry points and pitches with particular donors.
- Identify key external events at which Bond leaders can present our work and build profile and relationships with donors, and prepare Bond staff as appropriate.
- Proactively seek-out and identify new fundraising trends and developments, and make recommendations to Bond based on this
- Provide us with advice on how to best package our work to attract specific funders, while ensuring that we are able to continue to respond to member demand and our obligations and positioning with existing donors.
- Support and coordinate the preparation and submission of bids, expressions of interest and concept notes as appropriate, supporting our expert teams to present their work and plans in the most compelling way.

Purpose
Global Canopy (GC) is looking for an experienced Earth Observation Specialist who can step in and work with the team to deliver an ‘Earth Observation for Nature Finance’ pilot. The pilot project aims to explore and strengthen the role of open access earth observation (EO) data towards leveraging financial mechanisms for nature finance. The pilot will focus on agricultural portfolios, with scope to include forestry portfolios to conduct analysis leveraging ESA Sentinel data on a use case to be defined by a financial service institution project partner. The exact use case will be specified over the coming months and can both be to conduct an analysis leveraging satellite data to assess land use change linked to financed companies and their supply chains or to assess sustainable practices of financed companies in the forestry sector.
Today, few corporations disclose geolocation-specific supplier lists for key high-risk commodities including soft commodities and timber. If and when they do disclose, the data is often at jurisdiction or municipality-level, lacking asset-level detail. As a result, land conversion is difficult to link to corporate supply chains. If the final use case will be to analyse land conversion in financed agricultural supply chains then the EO expert will use Sentinel data to conduct an analysis which enables identification of land conversion events alongside potential underlying drivers, allowing FIs to engage with financed companies and support disclosure. This approach aims to improve FI understanding of land conversion dynamics, enhancing engagement with investees towards more sustainable land management practices. If the use case instead will focus on the forestry sector, then the EO expert will conduct analysis using Sentinel data to identify what types of insights on sustainable forest management practices can be generated from Sentinel data sets and conduct that analysis. The results will be shared and discussed with the financial service institution and the EO expert will need to conduct and lead the technical presentation.
The consultant will be responsible for researching geolocation specific datasets, available open source and in proprietary databases. If the final use case will be for agriculture then the consultant will leverage the supply shed approach, utilising datasets such as the TRASE database and the Universal Mill List to determine supply shed sizes. This will serve as a starting point to address current challenges. If the final use case will be on sustainable forestry then the EO expert will leverage geolocation data from the financial service institution to overlay with satellite data to conduct the technical analysis.
What work do we want a consultant to do?
Global Canopy is seeking a supply chain EO expert for two to three days a week over the course of 14 months to conduct technical hands-on data analysis work for the specific final use case to be selected. The EO expert will work collaboratively as part of a small team, predominantly collaborating with the project coordinator and the piloting bank to deliver this pilot. The EO expert will be responsible for undertaking the technical data analysis applying Sentinel data to the use case. The successful candidate will research relevant datasets to be tested and support the financial institution to utilise the supply shed approach, if the final use case will be in the agricultural sector, and other relevant approaches if the final use case is for the forestry sector.
The EO expert must have previous experience dealing with earth observation data.
Applicants should be able to complete the work remotely between May 2025 until the end of June 2026, with the work being completed during 8-6pm UK time (hours are flexible within this period).
Key Responsibilities
1. Pilot design
The EO expert, in collaboration with the FI, will be responsible for designing the pilot, identifying the methodology to be used for the purpose of the analysis.
2. Research, analysis and measurement of supply sheds
The EO expert will research geolocation specific datasets available open source and in proprietary databases. The EO Expert will conduct the technical analysis using Sentinel EO data to answer the key questions of the use case for either financed agricultural or forestry supply chains. This analysis will link the company data sets with the EO data sets to generate key insights and results to answer the use case questions. The EO expert will write a technical specification report of the analysis as a key output including specification of any data quality issues to be aware of in the use of the results.
3. Drafting and publication of final output
The final is a paper describing the results of the EO analysis to answer the key use case questions. It will be packaged as a use case for publication detailing the pilot journey, methodology used, technical analysis output, the findings and challenges encountered during the course of the pilot project. This output will be developed to be used as a replicable example by other organisations to illustrate a financial institution’s nature journey.
Note: The above-mentioned tasks are intended as a guide and may be modified following discussion with the selected consultant.
Lines of communication
The consultant will be part of Global Canopy’s Nature-related Finance programme team, working closely with the pilot project coordinator within the Nature-related Finance team, Nature-related Finance Director sitting within the consortium leadership team, as well as external piloting partners and other consortium members.
Location
The Consultancy is able to be completed on a remote basis but location is required to be within 3hrs of CET.
Timeline
May 2025 to the end of June 2026.
Outputs:
A technical analysis leveraging Sentinel data to answer the questions specified by the use case in either financed agricultural or forestry supply chains. The key questions will be on the nature-related impacts of financed supply chains, either negative or positive impacts for nature. The deliverables include a technical EO analysis answering the use case questions, the technical specifications of methodology and description of algorithms use, description of data leveraged for the analysis. This information will be used by the EO expert to collaboratively draft a use case with the team.
Requirements
As a successful applicant you will have a strong background in spatial data and analyses, linking agricultural production systems and environmental and social impacts, preferably with a focus on tropical ecosystems and supply chains. You will be motivated by making data and research accessible to a diverse range of audiences, including the private sector, governments and civil society, and ideally have practical experience in how to drive uptake and use of data products by different users.
Global Canopy is looking for an individual consultant with the skills and experience as detailed below.
