Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved. About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Events Fundraiser to support the delivery of our annual calendar of events which includes the London Marathon, Swim Serpentine, Action Challenges and our Choose your own Challenge programme.
The Events Fundraiser will be responsible for managing the portfolio of challenge events including the marketing; on the day delivery; first class stewardship and participant support from sign up to event completion and volunteer recruitment and management.
Due to the nature of our work, you will be required to attend some events and meetings throughout our catchment area which can be during weekends, early mornings or evenings.

You will have experience in planning and organising fundraising events (ideally challenge events), customer service and of working as part of a team in an office environment. You will also have an ability to remain calm and focused under pressure to achieve results in a positive and solution focused manner.

About the role
The Exchange is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Sales Assistant with a flair for customer service, and a passion for plants, craft and people. This is an exciting new opportunity to help support our Retail Manager in establishing The Garden Room as a vibrant, successful and welcoming space for retail, selling homeware and gifts; craft and garden supplies and tools; plants and plant care products; and some fashion, fragrance and cosmetics. The Garden Room acts as the main entrance into The Exchange, and so the Sales Assistant will be expected to be able to talk confidently about the wider organisation and its work. Principle Duties:

ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of how Feedback communicates our work to help achieve our strategic goals. This includes centring communities, building our public profile with key audiences including journalists, developing our range of allies, reflecting our understanding of historical injustice in the food system, and fostering an experimentation and learning culture. As Feedback has recently rebranded and changed its name, this role will involve carefully managing the journey of embarking with a new brand.
This role would suit an experienced communications professional who is excited to think deeply about the way communications can support systemic change in the food sector. Experience with managing relationships with journalists and media outlets, identifying and pursuing stories, managing change, and contributing to organisational learning will be important.
Everyone at Feedback is engaged in our journey towards fully embodying the principles of an anti-racist and anti-oppressive organisation, and as Communications Manager you will take the opportunity to think deeply and act on these principles in our approach to communications. Feedback’s activities span communities/grassroots and policy/corporate campaigns and one of our priorities is integrating these two aspects of our work, so an understanding of the reality of working with communities, either professionally or personally, or a willingness to learn, is vital.

About Fundraising at CARAS
CARAS offers holistic early-action support to refugees and people seeking asylum, ensuring individuals have the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in the UK. Founded in 2008, we have co-created our thriving adult and youth services in partnership with CARAS community members over the last 16 years and now run a thriving weekly provision of social and educational programming delivered alongside wrap-around casework support.
The growth in our service has been underpinned by great success in fundraising which has allowed us to consistently grow year on year, with our current annual budget now standing at approximately £750,000. Fundraising is led by the Head of Development and Impact. The creation of the Fundraising Officer role is an exciting new step for CARAS, providing us with the opportunity to get to understand our supporters more deeply, and build meaningful new partnerships with businesses and investors across many sectors to improve the outcomes for individuals with a refugee background across south London. We are seeking a creative, motivated worker who has ideas for how to support a thriving organisation, helping us build new relationships and partnerships that will support CARAS to maintain and adaptive and iterative approach towards our work to ensure that person-centred support is available when new-arrivals need it most.

About the role
This role focuses on scaling CARAS’s unrestricted income portfolio, building CARAS’s support base to sustainably increase our income. Working closely with the Head of Development and Impact, this will include:

About You:
With your proven experience of philanthropy fundraising, you’ll have personally secured 5 figure + gifts from a major donor. With your ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with donors, you’ll be able to adapt your communication style to articulate complex issues in a succinct and compelling way.
You’ll have project management skills to enable you to devise donor engagement plans and work with senior volunteers and trustees to develop funding proposals and identify opportunities.

- Identify potential prospects, working alongside the Prospect Researcher, Senior Management colleagues and Trustees to continue to identify new prospects to grow the pipeline.
- Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of donors from £5,000 gifts upwards, stewarding relationships to ensure donor satisfaction and long-term financial commitment, including detailed and timely reporting as well as engagement with senior stakeholders within St John.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues in fundraising to identify major donor prospects and opportunities to maximise donor experience – such as work with Supporter Engagement and the Community Fundraising team.

- Reconcile budgets, accruals, prepayments and other financial records for year-end.
- Engage with Cost Centre Managers on organisational or business-related proposals, provide helpful and meaningful financial advice to support business case submissions.
- Drive effective strategic and operational decision making for budget managers.
- Support the design, development and continuous improvement of finance processes and quality and system improvement projects.
The successful candidate will have:
- Part-qualified with a CCAB qualification or evidence of equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Experience of working in a management accounting, finance business partnering or related financial role.
- Ideally experience working in the public sector, but this is by no means essential.
- Proven experience of working collaboratively, including working with internal and external people in positions of influence to develop and implement customer-focused business solutions.
- Ability to analyse, summarise and communicate financial data and information clearly and accurately to non-financial budget managers.
- Ability to provide constructive challenge to budget managers.
