The CGD Society
Chronic Granulomatous Disorder (CGD) is a rare, life-limiting immune disorder, where children and adults get frequent bacterial and fungal infections, which can be serious and life-threatening.
The CGD Society is the primary resource for individuals facing a CGD diagnosis, offering essential information and support to families throughout their CGD journey. Our organisation is led by our dedicated and inspiring Executive Director who works tirelessly alongside our CGD Clinical nurse specialist, who is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital. While headquartered in the UK, we proudly support around 1,500 members across 77 countries, representing this global community with pride.
Key responsibilities
Community Fundraising

Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase income through regular giving, donations, campaigns, legacy giving, corporate partnerships, and other fundraising initiatives.

Promote participation in major sporting and challenge events.

Provide supporters with the necessary materials and motivation to maximize their fundraising efforts for the CGD Society.

Send personal thank you letters and certificates to acknowledge donations and fundraising efforts promptly.

Address fundraising inquiries.

Maintain regular communication with key fundraisers and stakeholders.

Attend events to support participants when appropriate.
Corporate Sponsorship and Partnerships

Establish and cultivate relationships with companies to secure sponsorships for various projects, fundraising events, and other funding opportunities.

Form alliances within the charity sector to achieve shared fundraising objectives and create more appealing sponsorship proposals.
Grant fundraising

If funding permits a three-day working week, with training and development, prepare and submit persuasive funding applications to Charitable Trusts and Foundations to boost our core income.

Develop with the Exec Director a rolling strategy for such applications, building relationships with funders and defining compelling funding targets.
Digital Marketing

Lead the development and execution of social media content to increase awareness and income, utilizing optimal methods to reach target audiences and drive engagement.

Serve as a "brand guardian," ensuring consistent, cohesive, and well-thought-out messaging, tone, and appearance across all internal and external communications.

Source and maintain a repository of up-to-date case studies, photos, and videos on life with CGD, transforming these into media-ready stories for social media, newsletters, the website, and reports.

Create and distribute regular newsletters using Mailchimp and other communication tools for members.

Manage the CGD Society website (WordPress), ensuring it is regularly updated and engaging for our beneficiaries, collaborating with external suppliers as needed.
Support for Executive Director

Provide monthly reports to the Executive Director detailing donations, fundraising activities, and marketing KPIs.

We are working with Ark Cancer Charity who are looking to appoint an experienced Fundraising Manager with demonstrable success in fundraising and marketing, and charity governance knowledge.
Ark Cancer Charity is an ambitious award-winning cancer charity that has raised significant donations both for capital and revenue projects benefitting patients using cancer services at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT).

Job Purpose

The PR Manager's key duties will be:
Strategy and Project Management
Work closely with team members in other departments within Save the Children to provide excellent PR support to develop and execute creative ways to deliver on Save the Children's objectives. Delivery to include:
- Brand – Build high profile and positive perceptions of Save the Children and its cause across all audiences via PR. Communicate our brand promise and build understanding with the public and opinion formers, demonstrating the depth, scale, impact and complexity of our work.
- Campaigns – Provide PR support to deliver across high–profile moments across Save the Children's major campaigns such as Christmas Jumper Day in order to achieve mass audience engagement.
- Compelling storytelling - Engage audiences through impactful child-centric stories, championing children's voices in order to empower the communities we work with.
- Reputation management – Support the wider team to protect Save the Children's reputation and identify issues relating to corporate risk management.
Delivering Media Coverage
- Develop and execute mass-market PR plans that amplify key strategic campaigns and initiatives across the calendar year, including brand, fundraising and advocacy priorities.
- Identify and maximise opportunities to generate reactive media coverage, responding effectively to external events, news and the cultural conversation.
- Write, co-ordinate and issue media releases, statements, briefing materials and Q&As, including for high-profile spokespeople and corporate partners, if required.
- Plan, manage and participate in overseas and UK trips to Save the Children programmes for the purpose of generating coverage and content – including hosting journalists and high-profile supporters.
- Commission and manage multimedia crews and organise PR shoots, with the purpose of generating world-class film and photography content that commands media attention.
- Develop and nurture close working relationships with journalists (especially those on features, women's, lifestyle, showbiz outlets) across print, digital and broadcast media - including a diverse range of outlets beyond mainstream media.
- Leverage social media and new technologies develop digital-first PR campaigns, including influencer activations.
- Represent Save the Children as spokesperson externally, networking and building relationships that support brand building activity in the media.
- Take part in the on-call and out of hours media rota. This will see you handling media enquiries and proactively pushing out stories on the weekend and out of hours during the week.
- Support PR Leads and Head of PR, Artists and Broadcast as required in the smooth-running of the team, including chairing meetings and carrying out administrative tasks.
About you
To be successful in this role, it is important that you have:

Ways of Working:

The Role

First Days was started in 2013 in response to needs in the local community in Berkshire. Quite simply: there were people with stuff they didn't need and people who desperately needed it. The charity grew very quickly and now, nearly eight years later, they have helped over 10,000 children, and distributed over 250 tonnes of donated goods.
Their aim for the charity is very clear: they want to close our doors because no one needs their service anymore. However, with 4.5 million children living in poverty in the UK they actually need to do the opposite - they need to boldly transform our service in order to launch a project that has the capacity and capability to help children across the UK.

The Head of Fundraising & Events will contribute to the growth of upReach through the raising of significant funds; you will have oversight of income generation from various sources including major donors, individuals, trusts & foundations and a portfolio of events. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Fundraising & Events will support upReach's mission by meeting financial targets, recognising when to make the fundraising ‘ask’ and leading the annual budget process. About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person with experience of business development, operational delivery, and project management to join Repowering London’s growing team. You will be a core part of our mission to tackle climate change and move towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
You will be responsible for delivering existing projects that provide energy efficiency, low-carbon heat and other retrofit support for homes in London, including managing our existing domestic retrofit team. This will include street-level, single-dwelling homes as well as a growing focus on blocks of flats and multi-occupancy buildings. You will also support the Community Retrofit Director to develop a sustainable commercial offer for low-carbon heat and energy efficiency retrofit services. The aim is for Repowering London to offer these services on an ongoing basis with a sustainable business and delivery model. We expect to see the initial launch of a commercial offer for property owners within 12 months of starting the role.
Additionally, you would support and coordinate with the existing rooftop solar and non-domestic retrofit team, to help identify synergies and build the foundations for the medium-term integration of our rooftop solar and heat decarbonisation offer in a holistic low-carbon retrofit service for both domestic and non-domestic buildings.

Your role as Domestic Retrofit Programme Manager
As our Domestic Retrofit Programme Manager, you will be the propulsive energy behind establishing and developing our growing low carbon retrofit service. To date Repowering London’s domestic retrofit offer has focused on research and development for innovative approaches to unlocking retrofit at blocks of flats, and delivering place-based domestic retrofit services in Lambeth and Newham that aims to increase awareness of retrofit as well as increase uptake of retrofit, either through existing retrofit grant schemes such as ECO or through working with the able-to-pay market. So far, this offer has been developed through grant funding, while our ambition is to develop sustainable business models to deliver these services ongoing.
Your role would be to build on this initial work with the completion of the business model and commercial terms, the development of a staged strategy for market entry, and to then launch and grow the new service. You will work closely with Repowering London’s Community Retrofit Director, Rooftop Solar and Non-Domestic Retrofit Teams, as well as the Executive Team, to share knowledge and leads, and to support the integration of our operations into a holistic retrofit service.

Through your engagement with local communities, you will generate interest, support and participation in Project Groundwater whilst addressing barriers which may typically hinder resilience to groundwater flooding. As a core member of the engagement delivery team, you’ll have the chance to plan for and use a range of engagement techniques to help foster support for, and involvement in, the project – with a focus on face-to-face engagement where possible.
