The Well Placed is a new non-profit working with leading UK charities to create a stepping stone into the charity sector for 10 marketers who want work with purpose.  

The Opportunity

A 6-month work placement with a UK charity starting this November.

Trade commercial expertise for invaluable insights into charity structures, funding models, cultural nuances and gain tangible deliverables showcasing impact. The experience will deepen your understanding of the charity sector and the preferences of hiring managers.

These hybrid roles vary, but all require marketing experience.  Salary is at the living wage at a minimum.  £21,840 - £23,933 per annum. Roles are full time, with the option to discuss part-time. Locations vary across the UK and include Cardiff and London.

What you will work on will vary from charity to charity, but to give you a flavour, the role could include building relationships with corporate partners or grant funders; developing marketing strategy; growing a customer or membership base; desk research; campaign creation; project management.

Labour Behind the Label's Advocacy Lead is responsible for engaging with key stakeholders in campaigns to call for better conditions in the garment industry and pushing our message in the media. They take part in LBL’s outward facing work, delivering lobbying and campaigns, and designing actions to push brands and policy decision makers to improve conditions.

You will join Labour Behind the Label - a small but mighty garment workers' rights campaign, working as part of a global network of unions and worker rights groups on the ground in garment producing countries to improve conditions in fashion supply chains. Our workers' co-op is a flat structure organisation where you get to work alongside a small of team of colleagues to shape campaigns and directly make a difference.

Job description

Campaigns and Policy

• Design and participate in delivery of UK-wide campaigns strategies to call for better rights and conditions in clothing production facilities worldwide, alongside other staff

• Lobby companies and policy decision makers to push for corporate and legislative solutions

• Write policy reports, articles and briefings, and create campaign materials

• Organise seminars and events with brands and policy decision makers on key campaigning issues

• Organise, with team members, demonstrations and online actions for supporters to take to push brands and decision makers on key campaigning issues.

• Participate in international working groups as necessary
   

Communications

• Lead on press work, including representing Labour Behind the Label in the media, writing and sending press releases, logging media coverage and responding to media enquiries where relevant.

• Build LBL’s press list and relationships with journalists

• Write campaigns communications towards supporters, including online supporter mailings and updating the website regularly with new content.
   

Urgent Appeals (1 day)

• Work with the Clean Clothes Campaign and international partners to respond to urgent appeals

• Log ongoing cases, and liaise with partners to ensure effective strategies are built

• Lobby companies, policy decision makers, or relevant institutions about urgent appeals

• Develop and deliver mini campaigns to see resolutions to urgent appeal calls
   

Other Tasks

• Project and budget management

• Work with other staff to identify opportunities for grants and funding, and to report back on outputs and costs to funders as relevant

• Writing and inputting into relevant areas of the website, social media and publications

• Participate in team meetings and undertake organisational management tasks as appropriate

The Service Manager will be responsible for the operations of a specialist supported living service which support up to eleven residents with Learning Disabilities, Autism, complex behaviours and/or physical health needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the quality of support provided, ensuring excellent quality of life for customers and a good working environment for colleagues. Skills and experience:

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a track record of success, who can demonstrate excellent understanding of policy-making and legislative change in an unpredictable environment. They will have significant previous experience of working in a policy role, ideally within a life-sciences or a veterinary or human medicine setting.

Experience of working with central government departments along with an understanding of parliamentary processes are preferable for the role. Equally important is the ability to analyse and critique information, formulate evidence-based solutions and accurately convey proposals to influence outcomes.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with strong written and verbal skills. They will be able to demonstrate effective engagement skills across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including the membership. Diplomacy and political awareness will be essential to ensure successful outcomes. Experience of PR and reputation management as part of the policy-making agenda is desirable.

The candidate must be flexible to work outside of normal office hours depending on the demands of the role which are often driven by the external environment and national events. The role is hybrid, incorporating working from home with travelling to meetings in or around London as required.  Therefore, to facilitate the needs of the role and the organisation, ideally candidates would be located in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire or Oxfordshire.

About the BSAVA:

The BSAVA is a professional membership association which exists to advance care for companion animals. Who we are looking for 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Special Events Team as Senior Special Events Fundraiser.

We have some exciting events coming up including a reception in October and a high-profile dinner at The Design Museum in November, so we need somebody to come in and hit the ground running. Please note that these events are in the evenings so the role will require some flexibility.

You will work closely with the Head of Special Events to deliver our events, taking responsibility for key elements of the management and delivery of each event and ensuring they meet budget targets. You will collaborate with internal teams on delivering events, including the bi-annual Patrons’ Club Reception and other events that arise over the year.

Relationship building (both externally and internally) is a key part of the role and an integral part of working for JDRF so you will have excellent interpersonal and stewardship skills.

As a highly creative and confident fundraiser, you will be given the scope to develop existing events as well as creating new and innovative events to increase fundraising as well as raising awareness of JDRF.

• Managing successful Special Events from concept to post-event evaluation

As the Trusts & High Value Relationships Manager, you will play a key role in building and managing the charity's relationships with high-value funders. You will collaborate with senior leadership to deliver income from Trusts, Statutory, Corporate, and Philanthropy sources. We are looking for an experienced individual giving fundraiser to join the Development and Corporate Partnerships Department based in London.  You will raise money for a range of projects and programmes, as well as manage a number of unrestricted income streams including our lottery.  You will be a proactive fundraiser who can confidently communicate our impact and plans to our members across the UK and work as part of the wider team.  You will be happy to travel to our gardens and shows as needed, working closely with colleagues across the RHS.

Building on your strong experience and knowledge of individual giving programmes, your role will be to help us expand our income and activity plan. This is an exciting time join the RHS as we move ahead with a number of new transformational programmes and seek to increase our fundraising income for a variety of new projects including our scientific research, sustainability projects and new programmes throughout the UK.

Pancreatic Cancer Action are excited to be seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Supporter Care and Fundraising Co-Ordinator to join our fabulous Fundraising Team.  This is a varied role where no two days will be the same.

Whether you are looking for an introduction into the world of fundraising or to build on your existing fundraising skills, this role will offer you the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience about different fundraising income streams, finance processing, CRM data and stewardship journeys.

Our incredible supporters are at the heart of all that we do at Pancreatic Cancer Action. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with our fantastic supporters daily. Providing them with the tools, knowledge and materials they need to help reach and exceed their fundraising targets. From head shaves to cake sales, dress-down days to extreme sports. You will be the first point of call for all fundraising enquiries and be on hand to provide bespoke stewardship support to ensure we develop long-lasting relationships with our PCA community, groups and companies across the UK.

 

Main responsibilities:  

• Provide admin and operational support to the Fundraising Team
• Accurately record and manage data using the Salesforce CRM system.
• Ensure that fundraisers and supporters get timely correspondents by email or phone.
• Inspire supporters through innovative new stewardship ideas, sending out relevant materials and offering support and advice to enhance their event/fundraising.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing supporters, helping them to exceed their fundraising targets and inspiring them to become life-long supporters.
• Update all event portals with fundraising details and complete the registration process on time.
• Monitor and input data from various fundraising platforms onto our Salesforce database to ensure accurate reporting on income from events/fundraising.
• Take ownership of fundraising tracker to ensure first class stewardship is provided to all supporters.
• Supporting community-based fundraising volunteers and groups.
• Work collaboratively with the fundraising and marketing team to ensure that email templates, cards and certificates remain up to date and relevant to our audiences.
• Work with the fundraising team to identify ways to surprise and delight our fundraisers and ultimately build long term relationships with a consistent approach.

Loveworks are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, inspiring and confident individual with excellent management and communication skills who is ready to take on the opportunity to lead this highly respected and dynamic charity. Ideally you will have a passion for helping people in food poverty and for engaging and empowering staff and volunteers. You will have strong leadership, people management, organisation and communication skills with the ability to generate strategic and financial growth delivering measurable results.

Main purpose of the role

- Provide leadership in delivering the Loveworks business plan in line with the overall Strategy

- Ensure that our beneficiaries and volunteers are at the heart of the Loveworks strategy and business plan.

- Ensure financial stability and growth of our operations and services to meet local needs

- Manage and develop staff (currently 4) and around 80 volunteers

- Oversee the operational running of the charity and provide holiday support

- Be responsible for Loveworks assets including warehouse, van and two allotment plots

- Increase awareness and impact of Loveworks through maintaining and building new relationships with corporates, funders and other partners

Main areas of responsibility:

· Strategy and business planning:

o Converting the strategy into an annual business plan

o Working with partners and Trustees to realise the benefits and impact of Loveworks in the community

· People management:

o Line management of up to 5 staff

o Build and maintain a vibrant volunteer community ensuring volunteers feel valued, supported and motivated to support Loveworks in a variety of roles.

o Ensure good practice, policies, procedures and appropriate training is in place for staff and volunteers.

· Operational management:

o Oversee the operational running of the charity, as delegated to the charity officers, ensuring the governance is fit for purpose and maintained.

o Manage and ensure maintenance and running of Loveworks assets including the warehouse, van and two allotments

· Budget management:

o Create and manage the overall budget as agreed with Trustee Treasurer

o Monthly and annual reporting

· Governance:

o Work with the Board of Trustees to ensure the charity commission governance requirements are operationally in place and maintained.

o Manage operational risk and health & safety across the charity.

· Stakeholder management:

o Relationship building e.g. agencies, schools, corporate organisations and fundraisers, developing and maintaining links with local community groups, organisations and businesses.

· Marketing and fundraising:

o Oversee the funding bids, grant applications, sponsorship campaigns and fundraising events.

• • Direct marketing content with support from Trustees and external resource when required.

As Loveworks is a small team of part-timers you will be required to perform the roles of other team members including food bank and warehouse support and processing, fundraising and other responsibilities during some periods.

Salary:  up to £55,000 (dependent on experience), plus generous pension scheme, flexible working culture

Contract: Permanent, subject to a six-month probation period 

Hours: 35 per week full-time. Applications for job shares, part-time and flexible working will also be considered.

The Royal Statistical Society (RSS) is one of the world’s leading organisations advocating for the importance of statistics and data, which have never been more vital. We’re looking for an exceptional, experienced business development professional who can help us increase our impact.

The main purpose of this role is to create and manage a pipeline of customers, from initial research, through to strong leads, and ultimately sales. Working closely with teams within the Society to research, follow up and develop strong leads, you will participate in events and marketing activities as needed, and develop and maintain a working database of contacts within our CRM system, to enable effective logging and tracking of potential customers.

Our Head of Business Development will:

• Work with wider RSS staff to develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of key internal and external markets to ensure our services align with those preferences and needs.
• Monitor emerging trends in statistics/data science/AI and keep track of competitors to ensure RSS services remain relevant and current.
• Understand key policy and strategy objectives of the RSS and develop, plan and where appropriate implement sales strategies to support those objectives, working closely with other colleagues as required.
• Understand the range of products delivered by the Society and create business development strategies and plans to maximise their commercial value.
• Work with the Director and other colleagues as required to help to shape the Society’s marketing strategy.
• Support development of the commercial aspects of strategies and plans across the organisation. Create and manage a pipeline of customers, from initial research, through to strong leads, and ultimately sales.
• Work with teams to identify new potential revenue streams, sponsorship opportunities and customer types to contact.
