About The Role
Your role as Challenge Events Manager will involve development of event strategies, management of various challenge events and maximizing opportunities and income. You will be creative, innovative with a appetite to grow income. You will have the opportunity to develop and implement a Home-Start network wide challenge event portfolio in virtual, third-party and in person events.
You will have the opportunity to develop opportunities in the sporting sector to maximise growth and impact, alongside potentially managing a small portfolio of corporate partners.
Your exceptional communication and liaison skills will be invaluable as you collaborate with colleagues across Home-Start UK, your suppliers and your portfolio of partners, developing compelling propositions that showcase the voices and stories of the families supported by Home-Start. Your strategic acumen will shine as you cultivate robust engagement and support from across Home-Start UK and the Home-Start network, playing a key role in delivering a successful challenge event programme. You will contribute to the development of high-quality materials that will be used across the fundraising directorate to maximise reach, income growth and impact. You will also have the opportunity to lead strategic projects from idea creation to delivery throughout Home-Start UK collaborating with different teams.
To excel in this role, you should possess outstanding planning, negotiation, and communication skills, combined with a deep understanding of the fundraising sector and its’ trends. An exciting position has arisen for a Challenge Events Fundraiser to work for a leading charity based in South East London. This is a permanent role within the hospice’s busy Fundraising team, responsible for planning and executing a variety of challenge events to support the hospice’s vital work in the local community.

About the Role:
You will ideally have newsroom or busy press office or agency experience, work well under pressure, and be full of creative media ideas. As a news driven, creative and ambitious Senior Media Officer, you will lead on a wide range of media activities including timely statements, ground-breaking research reports, fundraising appeals and events, and key policy and advocacy moments.
You will also work on projects with celebrity ambassadors, corporate partners and staff from across WaterAid's global federation - all in support of WaterAid's mission to change normal for millions of people living without water, decent toilets and good hygiene so they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.
You will drive, develop and implement proactive and reactive media strategies, use your warm media contacts and build new contacts to achieve organisational communications objectives, including increasing awareness of the global water and sanitation crisis as well as our work around the world and our policy, fundraising and campaigning activities.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write audience centric media strategies for advocacy research and reports and campaigns, with political and public stakeholders in mind.
- Build and ensure effective media relations by establishing and nurturing relationships with key journalists and media outlets, maintaining media lists using relevant media databases.
- Ensure a responsive, agile news desk and respond to enquiries on the key issues we work on.

- Proven experience in launching policy and research reports and data-driven stories to the media
- Proven experience on working on public engagement and supporter focused media
- Excellent command of written English and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling media materials and media messages at the highest quality
- Experience in developing and executing media strategies and securing impactful coverage.
- To have initiative, deadline driven, strong project management skills, able to work autonomously while contributing to a high performing team
- Willing to travel within and outside of the UK infrequently on travel to further media objectives.

About the Role:
As the Trusts & Foundations Manager you will be responsible for generating income from grant making trusts and foundations.
You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.
We are happy to consider people who want to work full-time (35 hours), or four days per week (28 hours).
Here's a summary of your key responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and research new and pipeline trust, lottery and statutory fundraising opportunities and progress them to application stage.
- Developing the trust and foundation pipeline to generate new income and multiyear grants
- To lead the development of new fundraising proposals for priority fundraising projects, including potential research partnership opportunities where MQ collaborates on a joint bid with another institution
- To carry out targeted and systematic research to establish new high value prospects utilising existing networks, the MQ database, search engines and referrals
- Build long-term relationships with new and prospect trust, lottery and statutory donors, including through meetings, attendance at conferences and events, regular update calls/comms and – when possible – direct face-to-face engagement.
- Report on performance against agreed budgets and targets
- Capitalise on the expertise and networks of MQ’s senior volunteers, including working closely with MQ Trustees and other Development Team colleagues to maximise existing opportunities for introductions, including the Lord Mayor’s Appeal
About You:
This role is for you if you are an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser, with good knowledge of the sector. You'll have demonstrable experience of securing five and six figure grants to achieve annual income targets, both through stewarding existing supporters and through researching and cultivating a pipeline of new opportunities.
You will also be skilled in understanding and translating complex information and turning it in to compelling written proposals, for grants, corporate partnerships and major donors.
We do require someone who is proactive, hardworking and results-orientated.
Essential role requirements include:
- Experience of trusts and foundation fundraising and able to demonstrate continual growth in expertise and results in this area.
- Good understanding of the trusts and foundations fundraising environment and associated processes and different types of grant making bodies.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write concise and inspiring funding applications and to make presentations.
- Creative thinker, with ability to identify funding opportunities and match them with the right trusts.
- Good interpersonal, influencing and relationship-management skills, at all levels.
- Ability to work as part of a team and spot opportunities to grow and develop relationships for the good of the organisation.
You will be driven to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and be a sophisticated communicator with the confidence to build relationships with and inspire colleagues and donors.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT is desirable but not essential.

Veterans Outreach Support (VOS) is an award-winning charity that offers welfare, wellbeing and mental health support and services to veterans of the UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight. They provide a Drop-In model of support, a welfare advice service, a range of peer-supported wellbeing activities and social groups, and access to psychology, psychiatry, and therapy services.
VOS has secured additional funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to continue the work of the Thrive Together programme (formerly VPPP) in the South East, which is designed to bring together a network of veterans’ support agencies that will take an informed approach across the South East region to ensure that there are connected pathways, which work well for veterans; that there are safe places for veterans to go, which connect into these pathways; and that volunteers and staff who support veterans have access to training and work closely with other organisations within veterans’ mental health pathways.
The Network and Partnership Development Manager will work with the Thrive Together Portfolio Manager and manage the Thrive Together regional ‘cluster’ Partners in defined geographical regions to identify and build a meaningful network of organisations delivering support to veterans, their families and carers. The Network and Partnership Development Manager will act as deputy Thrive Together Portfolio Manager as and when required.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. We now have a need for two Development Officers to work closely with the Development Director and Development Manager in developing our trusts and foundations and statutory income streams, managing the accounts of existing supporters and generating income through securing new funding relationships. About the role
