Youth Ministry Coordinator
This is an exciting new role which has been developed to support the work of Area 5 of the Pastoral Plan. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues from the parishes, schools and archdiocesan lay staff, in developing routes for the active participation and support of young people in the life of the church and in the service of its communities. To bring vision, energy and experience to develop youth ministry, accompanying young people into a living experience of the Church community.
The key initial priorities of this role are to:
- Design and develop various projects and initiatives to enable young people to build positive relationships with the church.
- Develop a mechanism for young people to engage in discussions about the future of the church.
- Actively develop an archdiocesan strategy for young people.
- The ideal candidate will have a background working directly with young people (aged 10-19) and a good knowledge of the Catholic faith.

The Role
The Live Music Coordinator will facilitate the delivery of live music experiences across the North of England, improving the health and wellbeing of children and adults through the healing power of live music.
You will work with professional musicians to share live music with people who may not otherwise get to experience it, organising programmes with partner organisations, in line with the organisation’s strategy and operational plan.
You will also support the delivery of the annual programme of live music experiences communicating with hospitals, hospices, care homes and the community. This includes those living with dementia, who have mental health problems, or who are seriously ill.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Coordination of the live music programme
- Prepare reports and appropriate feedback to the Live Music Manager and support to the Fundraising and Communications team as per the reporting timeframes required
- Inform the Live Music Manager of progress and developments
- Support the Live Music Manager to manage and deliver services
- Encourage, collate and monitor feedback reports from healthcare centres, participants and musicians
- Ensure effective administration in accordance with the UK-wide system for facilitating and contracting of individual health and care settings and musicians
- Provide copy for publications such the newsletter and Annual Report.
- Support Safeguarding and Health and Safety compliance within geographic area of responsibility

The role
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for working with Cruse in partnership with the Southern Gas Network (SGN) to support people experiencing a bereavement, with help and information to alleviate fuel poverty, enabling them to maintain a safe and warm home.

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.

· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

· Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.

· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
· Setting up and running virtual groups.

Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination:
- Develop and implement approaches to attract and recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds.

- Work with community members to develop and sustain volunteer peer led approaches to supporting service beneficiaries and communities.
- Responsible for managing and supporting volunteers.

- Promote volunteer opportunities through various channels, including Birchwood social media platforms, community events, local media, and partnerships with local organisations.

Corporate Partnerships:
- Manage and facilitate partnerships with companies seeking to engage their employees in paid voluntary work at the Birchwood Charity as part of their corporate social responsibility and social value initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners, coordinating volunteer schedules, and ensuring that both the needs of the charity and the volunteers are met effectively.
- Organise volunteer orientations and training sessions, oversee project assignments, and provide ongoing support and communication to ensure a positive and impactful experience for all participants.
- Help integrate local company corporate support into the Birchwood mission, enhancing the charity's outreach and impact in the community.
