Your work will be pivotal in analysing the current landscape of MND research and healthcare, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions. You will draw from scientific and clinical expertise and the patient perspective, to analyse policy issues and develop briefings and positions.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role as you will work closely with colleagues from various departments within the MND Association, including Research and Services, Partnerships, Public Affairs, and Communications. This teamwork aims to ensure that the latest developments in research and healthcare are communicated effectively and that our policy positions are well-promoted to external audiences.
Your responsibilities will also include preparing briefing documents and developing responses to public consultations, and producing detailed policy reports and recommendations.
An important part of your role will be to engage with and influence contacts with key organisations like the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, Department for Health and Social Care, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), and NHS England.

With the support of the Deputy Director of Development, you will lead our fast‐moving and creative Mass Engagement Team to:
- Power Individual Giving and Public Fundraising across multiple channels.

Supporting 1:1 and group sessions with a particular focus on delivering outdoor based, fun, and engaging sessions. This role is specifically to support the young women and girls on the programme.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of up to 20 active 1:1 mentee / mentor relationships.
- Building appropriate relationships with, and supporting YP through 1:1 and group mentoring
- Supporting girls through focused workshops and group activities. Developing a curiculum of suport for them.
- Create pathways for inspiring YP to engage in positive volunteering opportunities.
- Managing referrals from other organisations and being involved in the support systems in place for those young people.
- To co-ordinate and train a team of volunteer mentors who will provide support to young people on a weekly basis. Specifically female mentors.
- To ensure the volunteer mentors support young people to access services and develop skills and support them in making choices which will help them improve their physical, psychological and social well-being.
- To ensure safeguarding and child protection processes are in place and adhered to at all times.
- To work with community organisations and statutory agencies to create referral and access pathways into and out of the mentoring project and to promote the project as widely aspossible.
- Plan, organise and manage the 3 residential trips a year, in collaboration with other staff.
- Organise day trip activities in partnership with other staff

What will you be doing?
• Overseeing the effective development, delivery, evaluation, and improvement of the formal and informal learning programmes, including curriculum-informed and audience-led content, resource development, and training. • Developing and coordinating the Little Makers programme, creating content and resources, collaborating with colleagues, setting, and meeting key milestones. • Initiating and developing relationships with local schools to ensure long-lasting connections and co-developing programmes that meet the needs of teachers, students, and their wider audiences. • Collaborating with colleagues from across the organization, as well as external partners, to ensure programmes meet their targets and outcomes. • Developing training programmes to ensure achievement of outcomes for both Little Makers and wider education initiatives. • Managing the Programming Education team.

Weston Hospicecare is seeking a passionate and self-motivated fundraiser to develop and grow our Legacy and In Memory fundraising activity. This is an important area of income for the Hospice, and we are looking for someone who can either bring their existing expertise to this role or who is keen to develop their current fundraising experience within legacy fundraising.
To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone who will:
· Lead on the development of Weston Hospicecare’s Legacy and In Memory fundraising strategy, using your expertise to analyse activity and grow this area of income, building the financial resilience of the Hospice.
· Inspire support by developing a compelling Legacy fundraising proposition to encourage support from existing and new supporters.
· Deliver results through inspiring communications and promotional activity, bringing to life the extraordinary work of Weston Hospicecare and driving legacy pledges and support.
· Build strong relationships with a range of people, including local firms of solicitors, supporters, patients and their families and members of the team.
· Utilise your exceptional attention to detail and expert knowledge to monitor and administer existing estates, working with solicitors and executors to expedite settlement and where possible, accurately predict timelines for income.
· Provide excellent stewardship to existing supporters and pledgers through regular updates and inspiring events to demonstrate the impact of support and develop and nurture these important relationships.
· Devise an effective In Memory strategy to build upon and support this area, monitoring existing opportunities and developing new activity. Sensitively use personal stories, images and testimonials to strengthen this key area of income and offering a lasting tribute for families.
· Amplify the work of the team through sharing ideas and knowledge. Keeping up to date with sector developments and ensure best practice across all Legacy and In Memory fundraising activity.
· Work with an ambitious, positive and creative approach, with experience in working collaboratively organisation wide.
