Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK. 

Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as providing social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to legal, medical and educational services. Our Legal Access Department in the UK, provides access to critical legal representation for people seeking asylum and, more than this, supports people through the hostility and difficulty of claiming asylum.

In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding and service provision to displaced people who live in appalling and dangerous conditions. 

All of Care4Calais’ operations are supported by a small, dedicated team of staff who supervise large volunteer teams to provide much needed support to communities seeking asylum and on the move in the UK and France. 

About the role: 

Care4Calais are recruiting two Operations Coordinators to support their French operations. 

The aim of the Operations Coordinator role is to support the Care4Calais’ French operations to continue to deliver vital humanitarian NFI (non food item) distributions and essential services. We distribute 6 days a week and provide daily services which include  phone charging sessions, access to hairdressing, bike repair and sewing equipment, activities such as games and language lessons as well as information sharing and refreshments to communities living in northern France. Whilst this is a challenging position you will be given a thorough induction and work alongside experienced team members. 

The successful candidate for this role will be proactive and hardworking with the ability to problem-solve and prioritise effectively. The role would suit someone who is a self-starter, strong team player and excels working within a varied role. Candidates will need strong organisational skills and must have the ability to make numerous important and compassionate decisions each day.

You will be expected to demonstrate excellent judgement, initiative, integrity and strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate to a diverse group of people. You will be part of Care4Calais’ core team in France and will report directly to the Head of Field Operations in France.

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Providing core operations support for Care4Calais’ operations in northern France 

• Supporting a team of logistics and purchasing specialists to manage new and second hand clothing stock and feed into operational planning for field activities.

• Managing and delivering Care4Calais’ NFI aid distributions and service provision with people on the move at the French/British border

• Managing and supporting teams of up to 40 volunteers each day to provide daily services in Calais and Dunkirk. Including leading daily briefings and health and safety training. 

• Supporting the smooth running of a warehouse and donation storage facility. 

• Working alongside a small staff team to develop processes, procedures and documentation to support the effective running of Care4Calais’ humanitarian operations. 

• Attending external meetings, building and maintaining relationships with partners and key stakeholders which allow Care4Calais’ operations to continue to run smoothly and effectively.

 Essential Skills and Experience: 

• 1 - 2 years experience working in an humanitarian context, for a human rights organisation or with people from refugee and asylum seeking backgrounds;

• Professional or voluntary experience of working on projects concerning risk management, health and safety, safeguarding and compliance. 

• Self-motivated and used to managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines;

• Able to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including those from displaced communities;

• Good decision-making and negotiation skills;

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

• Experience working with displaced people or communities on the move, ideally with NFI distribution experience

• Experience leading and managing volunteer teams from varied backgrounds 

• Experience managing warehouse or storage spaces and/or complex logistical and purchasing projects. 

• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in English and at least a B2 level of French proficiency. 

• Strong digital literacy, including ability to work on Google Workspace and Office 365;

• Full clean driving licence and experience or willingness to drive vans

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with teams from different cultural backgrounds;

• Baccalauréat, A Level or equivalent academic qualification

• Experience delivering mass distributions of NFI or other aid items in an humanitarian context. 

• Proficiency in one or more of the languages spoken within asylum seeking communities, such as but not limited to: Arabic, Farsi, Pashto, Dari, Kurdish Sorani, Tigrinya or Amharic.

Engaging increasing numbers of schools in ACN’s Membership programme, fundraising initiatives, and developing new initiatives and resources working strategically with the Community Fundraiser in Scotland.

You will also be providing support for organised ACN events in Scotland, as well as taking responsibility for running tailored events. 

Reporting to the Manager of Operations in Scotland this post will provide key logistical and administrative support. The Youth & Events Co-ordinator in Scotland will contribute to the objectives set out in Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) UK’s overall strategic plan, focusing on agreed aspects of the fundraising and marketing strategy, which contribute to the effective fundraising and awareness raising and ACN’s core aim of providing more aid to the Church in need.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Reach out to Scottish primary and secondary schools and youth settings in the central area of Scotland.

Develop and facilitate initiatives/programmes and resources to be offered to the above groups within a given diocese or throughout the Scottish dioceses as well as sharing resources to develop organisation-wide initiatives.

Develop and deliver themed presentations and workshops; organise mailings to contact targeted groups/areas. Follow this up with appointments

Administratively responsible for all ACN events in Scotland, in close cooperation with the Manager of Operations in Scotland, the Community Fundraiser for Scotland, Administrative Support in the Scottish Office and the Fundraising and Marketing Team. Responsible for promoting events via social media posts leading up to and during events. Using social media after events to recognise success and encourage future engagement.

Purpose:

To support ARC’s staff and stakeholders in their use of technology, to further ARC’s aim of conserving amphibians and reptiles and saving their disappearing habitats.

The IT Systems Coordinator will be responsible for the support and maintenance of ARC’s IT systems and infrastructure; for the support of ARC staff, volunteers and other stakeholders using the technology; for identifying potential improvements; and for the implementation of agreed changes. The IT Systems Coordinator will be aided in this by ARC’s third-party IT support provider.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support local and remote staff using Windows 10/11 and MS 365 Apps for Business.
• Support of ARC’s fundraising and volunteer database systems (in tandem with ARC’s database suppliers).
• Maintain and administer core apps and infrastructure (e.g. Entra/AD; LAN; VoIP; file/print; mobile phones; AV equipment; MS 365 apps and email) alongside ARC’s third-party IT support provider.
• Implement technological changes with ARC’s third-party IT support provider.
• Provide technical support to ARC’s Communications Team relating to the maintenance of the Trust’s intranet and website (working with the website CMS supplier).
• Provide advice and guidance to staff regarding information security and data protection as required.
• Coordinate regular information security refresher training.
• Coordinate/ deliver staff software training as required.
• Refine and deliver IT inductions for new staff.
• Budget for hardware and software replacements.
• Liaise with ARC’s support provider and suppliers and assist in reviewing contracts.
• Take a key role in ARC’s incident response team.
• Co-ordinate and lead in ARC’s internal IT Subgroup.
• Participate in meetings with IT representatives from ARC’s partner organisations.
• Assist with data processing of stakeholder registrations and communications preferences.

Working Relationships:

The IT System Coordinator has no line management responsibility but there may be periodic opportunities to supervise interns or work placements. You will report to the Admin & Finance Manager but will work closely with workstreams across the Trust, ensuring that all of ARC’s staff have the knowledge of, and confidence in, the technology they require to achieve their conservation objectives. You will also be required to liaise with various third-party suppliers and support providers.

Ambition Aspire Achieve was founded in 2016 by Kevin Jenkins OBE, because of a longstanding desire to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people. We deliver a wide range of projects and services based out of our youth hubs, the Terence Brown Arc in the Park in Canning Town and the Glyn Hopkin Abbey Hub in Stratford, and across local communities in Newham via a programme of detached outreach work. Starting early, we work with children as young as 5 years old, right up to 25 as young people transition into early adulthood. The Role

The role offers an exciting opportunity to join AAA’s management and coordination team, playing a key part in supporting vulnerable young people to reach their full potential, whilst making a significant contribution to the development of our youth programmes. Recruited on a full-time basis (with part time options considered), responsibilities include:

• Developing, overseeing and delivering youth projects and programmes based out of AAA’s youth hubs, ensuring project milestones, outputs and outcomes are met or exceeded in line with funding agreements.
• Monitoring and evaluating our targeted youth projects and programmes, providing reports to the Chief Executive, Board of Trustees and key funders as required.
• Leading and line managing a small team of youth workers, enabling the delivery of high-quality youth work programmes

• Liaising with parents/carers of young people participating in our projects, building strong relationships to support the development of service-users.
• Supporting the development of new youth programmes and promoting AAA’s youth offer via attending local youth forums, networking and funder events.

THE APLASTIC ANAEMIA TRUST

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only UK charity providing information, advice and support to people affected by rare disease Aplastic Anaemia. Our vision is that everyone affected by Aplastic Anaemia in the UK should feel empowered and have access to the best possible treatment, care and support so they can lead full and healthy lives. We support our community through one of life’s toughest challenges – diagnosis with a rare bone marrow failure. We currently support around 2,400 people and have around 30 volunteers.

The Financial Education Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting and onboarding schools to embed our free financial education resources into primary school classrooms. You will have an excellent understanding of the challenges and pressures that exist within a primary school environment. You will achieve this by proactively researching, networking, and making connections with schools in London and the Southeast region. The Financial Education Delivery Coordinator will need to work flexibly with each school to best meet their needs, according to our policies and guidelines. We're seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team in the role of Brent Service Coordinator. This position plays a pivotal role in the development and delivery of our unique, beloved 1:1 sessions for children with additional needs. We're looking for someone who is not only self-motivated and highly organised but also possesses experience working with disabled children in various settings, including play, educational, or social care, with a specific focus on autism and learning disabilities. Every week during term time, children aged 5-11 attend our 90-minute KEEN London sports and games sessions, where they receive personalised support from our dedicated team of volunteer coaches. Our Brent site is the newest addition to the KEEN London community and you'll play a crucial role in its continual development. We have just completed our two year pilot and are looking for a candidate to build on this foundation.  As the Brent Service Coordinator, you'll be solely responsible for the front line delivery of the Brent service: planning, safety, and creating a fun and inclusive environment for all. This will involve working closely with our athletes and their families, supervising our team of volunteer coaches and engaging with the local community.  Additionally, you'll oversee the organisation and execution of off-site trips and contribute to the organisation of our annual residential trip.

You'll work as part of our dedicated team to harness the contribution of our valued volunteers both in the UK and in Uganda and Kenya.

Day-to-day responsibilities will see you travel across the UK to universities and other higher education settings, presenting to students about Project Play - our longstanding, impactful volunteer projects. You will work closely with educational institutions to build relationships, support volunteers as they fundraise and champion the accomplishments of volunteers throughout the year. The role will enable you to manage both UK and international events and you'll work collaboratively across our small team to achieve and exceed targets.

Our partners are based across the UK, so you will need a full, clean driving licence and access to a car. There will be an opportunity to travel to Uganda/Kenya for up to three months of the year. If you have charity and specifically student fundraising experience, we would love to hear from you. It's beneficial to have international volunteering and or travel experience too. However, your skills, personality and passion for fundraising are more important to us at Play Action.

Our fundraising team raises vital income to enable us to care for people with life limiting illnesses in our community. We do this through events, activities or other platforms to promote the Hospice out in the community and are passionate about providing an excellent supporter experience.  We are looking for a new team member to join us to help us achieve our goals and support our fundraising activities.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5 (with flexibility required on occasion to support events and activities outside regular working hours). Full or Part-time applications considered, minimum of 28 hours per week.

What is the role?

The Fundraising Coordinator will be an integral part of the fundraising team,  providing excellent administrative support for fundraising campaigns, events and in aid of fundraising. You will also be responsible for the administration of accurate supporter records and bookings, responding to enquiries and cultivating relationships with our supporters and volunteers. You will support the team to meet departmental targets and objectives to drive ongoing stewardship and supporter engagement.

Working as part of a small, busy team there will be opportunities for you to get involved with projects and initiatives outside of the day to day administration, helping to expand your knowledge and develop your skill set.

Do you have?

• Great people, communication and customer service skills
• Strong organisational skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
• An excellent eye for detail
• Good digital skills including MSOffice (Excel and Word)
• The ability to be flexible and the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks
• Experience in an administration role in fundraising, events/marketing or a customer services environment
• Ability to understand information presented in databases or donor software systems.

On a personal level, you’ll be an adept problem solver capable of working under pressure, managing a small team, and prioritising your own workload. Most importantly, you’ll be a person passionate about social and climate justice issues in the UK and in the Global South and building strong networks of solidarity. 

This will be a position that you can truly make your own, in a field of work that is becoming increasingly relevant in relation to both climate change and global resource justice.

The Volunteering & Recruitment Co-ordinator will be a valuable member of the HR & Operations Team at Richmond Borough Mind. We are a diverse and well-established charity with a workforce of approximately 60 staff and 140 volunteers, and our team deliver a broad range of mental health support services for the community including Counselling, Peer Group Activities, Mental Health Training and Crisis Support. We are looking for a motivated and experienced co-ordinator to help us nurture our growing base of talented staff and volunteers. 

A natural people-person, you'll be a confident communicator with a proven instinct for matching candidates to careers, vocational pathways and volunteer placements. Experience working in the non-profit sector and knowledge of volunteering will be an asset.

A background in volunteer co-ordination and administration within a charity, HR or equivalent experience is essential. A knowledge of employment law, equality, diversity and inclusion, and best practice in HR will also be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and time management abilities, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You'll also be confident working with a range of IT platforms including SharePoint, online meeting platforms, cloud-based database systems, online advertising portals and desktop publishing software.
