Purpose of the role
At NEON we believe that organising is crucial if we’re to build the power we need to win a new economy and deepen cross-community solidarity at a time of political polarisation. A central part of our new strategy - and this role - is to support movement organisations and organisers to build their capacity to do what we call Transformative Organising - where we transform the conditions we live in, transform ourselves and transform who has power in society. We use a combination of trainings, 1-2-1 mentoring and strategic partnerships with movement organisations to give organisers the tools, skills and confidence they need to build a base with those at the sharp end of the crisis, develop politically conscious leaders, and plan strategic & escalating campaigns that win. You’ll work with our Head of Organising and colleagues in the Movement Building Hub to scale up this offer over the coming years, with a particular focus on the housing, climate and migration movements, as well as supporting movements to tackle a rising far-right.
What you will be doing

Deliver organising trainings to social movement organisers and campaigners, using content from our Transformative Organising programme and working closely with our Head of Organising and NEON trainers. These will be a mix of shorter workshops and multi-day trainings, blending in-person and online delivery, and you will be supported to experiment with different delivery models to meet movement needs.

Work in partnership with organisers, organisations and coalitions to build their organising capacity over the long-term, through ongoing mentoring and hands-on support and training.

Conduct extensive 1-2-1s with movement organisers, to strengthen relationships, explore opportunities for collaboration and understand movement needs.

Support the development of a network of UK-based organisers, and create spaces for collective learning and ensure NEON’s organising offer meets the needs of organisers on the ground.

Work with the Head of Organising to periodically review and update NEON’s Transformative Organising content, staying responsive to movement needs and incorporating the latest organising practices and tools.

Organise public events on organising topics, including webinars and workshops, bringing together organisers from across social movements

Contribute to the Movement Building Hub’s wider work, including the organising components of our Worker-led Transition programme and our work to build the strategic capacity of movement leaders and organisations. This role will also contribute to cross-organisational work in NEON’s key focus areas (migration, housing, climate, and tackling the rise of the far-right), as well as projects to support the development of NEON’s internal culture.

We’re looking for someone with a:

Proven track record of using organising tools and approaches to plan and deliver successful campaigns, with at least 3-5 years of experience. This might include doing base-building, conducting outreach, mapping, organising mass meetings and actions, or integrating political education into campaign planning

Job Purpose:
The main purpose of this role is to lead and coordinate communications activities across the Society’s policy and external affairs activities, ensuring that our work is communicated strategically and visible to appropriate audiences.
Key responsibilities:
Understanding opportunities and the changing external environment
- Develop our understanding of the preferences and needs of our key internal and external audiences to better align our policy and external affairs communications to those preferences and needs.
- Monitor and respond to emerging trends to ensure our communications channels and content for policy and external affairs remain timely and relevant.
- Build a network of key contacts across critical and adjacent organisations to maximise potential routes into influencing decision-making and make the best use of resources through collaborative working.
Development of strategies and plans
- Lead on strategic communication of the Society’s campaign priorities

Media relations

External affairs

Working for the RSS
Pension and benefits
Our defined contribution pension scheme can be joined after three months in post. Your contributions of up to 8% of salary will be double matched by the Society (making a maximum contribution by the Society of 16%). A training budget, season ticket loan, cycle to work scheme and employee assistance programme are also available.
Location
The RSS office is in central London. We offer flexible working arrangements, and this is a hybrid role with a minimum two days a week working in the office. In person attendance for certain meeting is required, including all-staff / team meetings and governance / committee meetings that take place in person. Limited travel within the UK and internationally may be required.
Working hours

Holidays

The Regular Giving Campaigns Manager will play a key role in growing donations to the College’s Annual Fund by leading on the strategy, execution, and analysis of fundraising campaigns to drive funding for student support. This includes managing telethon campaigns, digital and print appeals, and ensuring smooth delivery with internal and external partners.
The role also includes stewardship and retention activities, such as publicizing the impact of regular giving and managing the 1509 Society donor circle. The manager will support major donor identification and growth, oversee the regular giving budget, and stay updated on fundraising trends and best practices. There is some CRM and data management, focusing on donor segmentation, analysis, and improving data quality.
This role is critical to increasing participation among alumni, ensuring sustainable funding for student support and College priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Planning, Execution & Analysis
- Lead all Annual Fund campaigns, including telethon, giving day, digital and print appeals, which seek to generate funding towards student support, increasing participation among alumni and community base year-on-year. Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth campaign delivery.
- Plan, lead and execute all telethon campaigns including caller recruitment; training and supervision of callers; production and distribution of pre-call and post-call materials; data segmentation, handling, and analysis to ensure smooth-running of campaigns.
- Prepare Annual Fund communications such as leaflets, letters, and other materials from idea through to drafting, design, printing, and mailing.
- Analyse the efficacy of past appeals to improve performance and lead on identifying trends and donor interests to significantly improve the targeting of appeals.
- Produce reports on progress of Annual Fund activities with relevant metrics and propose appropriate responses to these results.
- Establish and maintain an understanding of the College’s academic objectives and their relationship to the Development Team priorities.
- Understand the financial position of the College and be confident in articulating how Development activity impacts upon the work of the College, both now and into the future.
- To be responsible for the regular giving budget and resources.
Stewardship, Engagement & Retention
- Help publicise the impact of regular giving to alumni and friends of the College, including writing for newsletters, the website, and social media.
- Develop and deliver stewardship activities for regular donors.
- With colleagues, ensure timely follow-up on pledge renewals and recurring gifts to improve donor retention and engagement.
- Manage and grow the 1509 Society donor circle, and work with the Development Director and Senior Development Executive to identify regular donors to move into the pool of potential major donors.
- Attend relevant College, donor and alumni events throughout the year as required.
CRM & Data Management
- Manage and update donor data in the CRM to ensure accurate and secure record-keeping.
- Analyse fundraising data to track performance and refine strategies.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and proper stewardship of donor information.
Training
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development and participate in training relevant to the role.
- Keep up to date with regular giving trends, benchmarking, best practice, professional standards, regulations, and new approaches.
General Duties
The post holder will be required to:

Person Specification
Essential skills
- Experience in regular giving, fundraising or marketing within a nonprofit, higher education, or similar environment.
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to craft compelling donor appeals and stewardship content.
- Ability to plan, manage and execute multiple fundraising campaigns and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, particularly around donor data management and gift tracking.
- High degree of professionalism, tact and diplomacy, and commitment to donor confidentiality and data protection.
- Ability to work well with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate campaign execution.
- An understanding of digital marketing and the use of social media in fundraising.
Desirable skills
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- CRM/database management experience, particularly with fundraising platforms (preferably Raiser’s Edge)
- Experience managing telethon, Giving Day, or other mass fundraising campaigns, ideally in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of best practice and trends in fundraising for education and alumni engagement.
- Familiarity with the University of Oxford or a collegiate university environment.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Appointment
This appointment is offered as a full time, permanent contract. There is an initial probationary period of six months. The appointment will be conditional on verification of the successful candidate’s ‘Right to Work’ checks and subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and medical clearance through the University’s Occupational Health Services.
Salary
To be paid on the College Grade 6 scale depending on experience. Advancement up the scale is on merit.
Hours of work
Full time 35 hours each week. Standard hours are from 9am until 5pm, with an unpaid hour taken for lunch, Monday to Friday.
Certain events in Development will require attendance outside of these core hours, notably the annual Telethon which is run over 2-weeks, and will likely amount to two weekends, plus 2 extra hours per day for 1-week.
The postholder will be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the job requirements and subject to operational needs. A willingness and ability to adopt a flexible approach to working hours and duties is essential according to the requirements of the College.

We ask all members of Age UK's Partnerships and Philanthropy department to work from our London office at least once a week to enable collaboration, skills development and team dynamics (currently Thursdays).

We The Curious is about to enter an exciting new phase in its mission to connect and empower everyone through shared creative science learning experiences. It is nearly a year since we reopened and as we enter our 25th Anniversary Year there is lots to celebrate and talk about with our new multi-year strategy, Plan 2030 which encompasses numerous major projects for which we must develop and cultivate support.
The Development Team is responsible for fundraising across the whole organisation and the stewardship and development of our donors and supporters. The other members of the team are the Development Manager, the Gifts and Partnerships Manager and Development Account Manager. We are looking for a Trusts and Foundations Manager who is collaborative, organised and an excellent communicator to join the team to help us maximise and unlock some very exciting fundraising opportunities.
As Trusts and Foundations Manager you will use your skills in research and persuasion to identify grants funding opportunities, establish new relationships and write and submit proposals to trusts, foundations, Lottery funders, the local authority, universities and research councils. Working closely with the rest of the team and project managers from other departments you will raise between six and seven figure sums for our programme of creative science learning and inclusion projects.
What will you do in this role?

_Identify new grants funding sources, including trusts and foundations, research councils and statutory/government funders.
_Prepare and submit high quality funding proposals, expressions of interest and budgets in accordance with strict deadlines and application criteria, to a diverse range of funders, for up to seven-figure sums.

The ALP will transform how areas identify and support young people and places most vulnerable to violence, collaborate effectively, and deliver impactful interventions to better protect children from being drawn into violence. We are seeking an exceptional senior manager to help drive the next phase of the ALP, scaling from a successful pilot in four Local Authorities to broader implementation across England and Wales.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Area Leaders Programmes Manager will be an essential part of the YEF Change team and will support the expansion and delivery of the Area Leaders Programme, ensuring its effectiveness in increasing evidence-based decision-making, commissioning, and multi-agency collaboration. You will provide direct operational oversight and stakeholder engagement to support local areas in reducing youth involvement in violence. Approximately 0.4fte of the role will be presenting YEF Toolkit evidence in both the ALP and across wider violence prevention networks supported by the YEF.
This will include:
Programme Management and Delivery
- Support the management of the expansion of ALP from four pilot areas to 10 new local authority areas from spring 2025.
- Support the development and refinement of frameworks, tools, and resources to support effective identification of the people and places most vulnerable to violence, evidence-based commissioning, effective case management, and multi-agency collaboration.
- Commission and manage contractual arrangements with external consultants secured to support ALP development and delivery.
- Manage robust monitoring and evaluation processes to assess the impact and inform continuous improvement of the programme.
- Manage programme resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, safeguarding partnerships, community safety partnerships, and other stakeholders.
- Represent YEF in discussions with partners and policymakers.
- Help facilitate collaboration across diverse stakeholders to align priorities, overcome barriers, and promote evidence-based approaches.
Capacity Building and Support
- Provide strategic and operational support to multi-agency teams, empowering them to embed effective violence prevention practices.
- Lead capacity-building activities, including workshops, coaching, training, and peer learning opportunities for local partnerships.
Presenting Toolkit evidence.
- You will present Toolkit evidence in talks and workshops and speak clearly and persuasively about Toolkit evidence, so that insights from our research lead to positive change. You’ll work with key stakeholders to identify areas of policy and practice that should be informed by Toolkit evidence.
About you

You’ll know about the key issues and debates in preventing children and young people becoming involved in violence.

You might have worked closely with, or been a practitioner in, a youth offending team, policing, children’s services or youth work and might have previous experience of supporting a local partnership to develop their violence reduction strategy or reflect on and adopt evidence-based practice. Hybrid Working
The office is based in Central London. Those living in and around London are expected to be in the office a minimum of 2 days per week. If you live outside of London and work remotely, you’ll be expected to work from the London office 2 days per month.
Travel
Due to the nature of the programme there is some national travel required within England and Wales. This is likely to be around twice a month, all travel costs can be reimbursed with flexibility for overnight stays if preferred.
