Events Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for an Events Officer to join the team in this flexible working role.

We are looking for someone proactive, tenacious, and empathetic, as you will be working for a charity that represents 100% of the NHS charity sector in the UK, helping the NHS tackle today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.

Position: Events Officer

Location: Warwick/hybrid (2 days per week in Warwick office)

Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 per annum

Hours: Full Time (35 hours per week) less two hours paid wellbeing time, 9-11am on Friday mornings

The Role

The Events Officer plays a key role, working closely with the Member Events and Partnerships Manager, membership team and members.

The Events and Training Officer is crucial in delivery of the member offer and strategy, with responsibility for the ongoing support and delivery of building capacity and capability through:

• Impactful member events both online and in-person
• Capturing and responding to member insights
• Member Communications

This is a diverse membership consisting of charities based in hospitals, mental health, community, and ambulance services and across all four nations of the UK.  Members are all at different stages of their journey and have in common their drive to grow and deliver greater impact for their patients, staff, and communities.  This role will help deliver events across the membership and support opportunities to help develop the whole sector.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support delivery of yearly in-person and remote events programme including flagship Annual Conference
• Create, manage and promote the booking processes for member events
• Design, manage and deliver regular member Webinar Wednesday programme
• Facilitate peer learning and support through Regional & Special Interest Groups
• Gather insights and feedback, design surveys to identify member need, data analysis and reporting
• Deputise for Member Events and Partnerships Manager at events, as required
• Manage member questions and queries

About You

You will have experience of events administration and cordination, ideally within a membership organisation, with a proven track record of working as part of a team to deliver joint objectives.

You should be an excellent communicator and sensitive to stakeholder relations, passionate about delivering impactful work, with a proven ability to be highly organised and manage your own workload.

You will need:

• Experience of events administration and of using a CRM system
• Demonstrable experience of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
• Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and an ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record for collaborative working and building sustainable relationships at all levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Able to assimilate information clearly and prepare appropriate, clear and concise content
• Ideally, knowledge or experience of working for a membership organisation or in the charity sector

The International Organization for Migration in the United Kingdom (IOM UK) is looking for a qualified Consultant to develop a resource booklet on employment, volunteering and opportunities for further study in Northern Ireland to support the Skills Reintegration and Training (STAR) Project.

Project Context
IOM UK delivers a range of programming to support migrants, both in the UK and internationally, including projects focusing on labour migration, resettlement, migration and development, migrant protection, human trafficking and modern slavery, and community cohesion. The Skills Training and Reintegration (STAR) Project has been developed by IOM UK and is currently being implemented in Belfast to “contribute to improving employment opportunities and labour market integration for potential male victims of modern slavery and human trafficking in Northern Ireland”. From February 2024 to December 2024, the STAR Northern Ireland programme is providing 12-week in-person training courses to group of 6-10 people, running three times throughout the year.

The programme has two outcomes which include:

1.Participants improve their skillsets, knowledge and confidence in relation to finding employment in the UK.
2.Participants put learning into practice and plan individual next steps.

Under the first outcome, three months of skills training is provided, covering modules on digital skills, life skills and employment skills. In addition, personalised one-to-one support is provided to help participants put the learning into practice and to apply skills when identifying or applying for opportunities.

Under the second outcome, IOM plans to provide participants with an information and resource booklet containing information about employment, volunteering and additional study opportunities in Northern Ireland.

The consultant will be responsible for developing an Information and Resource Booklet on employment, volunteering and additional study opportunities in Northern Ireland, to provide to participants and ensure sustainable learning beyond the life of the STAR training. In doing so, the consultant should include a range of accessible and appropriate tools, methods and resources within an information document. The consultant should review the current training content of the STAR programme utilising current tools to ensure the resource booklet is aligned, and include new resources and learnings as required. The consultant will report to the supervision of the Senior Project Associate in Belfast, and the Senior Programme Coordinator in London, and with other relevant IOM Units.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual, who has a flexible attitude to lead on our translation service within the Fund.

Key duties for this role include: 
  

• Support the development and delivery of individual giving fundraising campaigns to optimise sustainable income and long-term value in line with the Charity’s newly agreed fundraising strategy. 

• Project manage activity designed to deliver warm engagement and supporter acquisition across all relevant channels - for example, social media, paid search, SMS, email, inserts and mail. 

• Collaborate with colleagues in the Data Management, Fundraising and Communications teams to ensure individual giving activity is appropriately supported. 

• Lead on data selections for Individual Giving fundraising campaigns to deliver the best long-term ROI and insightful testing; working closely with the Data team and ensuring that data is handled sensitively, confidentially and is GDPR compliant. 

• Support the Individual Giving team with forecasting and reporting across financial and non-financial KPIs in relation to the Individual Giving programme. 

• Support the Individual Giving team with the establishment and roll out of a Mid-Value donor fundraising programme. 

• Work collaboratively to ensure a seamless approach to the acquisition and development of donors, developing supporter journeys that encourage further engagement through other fundraising products and increasing lifetime value. 

 
We’re looking for the following skills & experience: 

• Demonstrable experience of project management across a range of direct marketing channels including print and digital. 

• Strong copywriting and creative writing skills. 

• Experience in researching content for fundraising and marketing materials. 

• Experience of working collaboratively with creative, print, digital & media agencies to get the best results. 

• Experience of using social media to target, communicate with and engage supporters. 

• Experience of supporting the planning and budgeting process within an individual giving context.

Job Purpose

This is a critical role, sitting at the heart of hyh, the purpose of which is to provide high quality administrative support to the CEO, coordinate and administer the leadership and governance of the organisation and oversee the smooth running of the office.

Administration and Support for the CEO

• Be a step ahead at all times in providing executive support to the CEO including: diary organisation, making appointments, responding to invitations, dealing with correspondence, and liaising with external partners and arranging travel.
• Conduct research, prepare papers and briefings, produce PowerPoint presentations.
• Project support for organisation wide projects.

Leadership and governance support

• Plan and coordinate the efficient running of leadership and governance meeting cycles, including scheduling meetings, booking venues, circulating documents, collating reports, minute taking, maintaining action logs, arranging refreshments etc. This includes the Board of Trustees and two sub-committees (Governance and Finance), Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Leadership Team (LT).

• Coordination and administration of internal staff meetings and communications, including monthly Team Briefings and bi-annual Organisation Days.

• Manage our policies and procedures and oversee the annual cycle of policy reviews.

Office management

• Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the office, ensuring that it is a great working environment for staff where supplies never run out, the office is clean and tidy, and all staff have the furniture and equipment they need.
• Coordinate a small team of office/admin volunteers to provide excellent support to the wider hyh team.
• Build and maintain service and supplier contracts and relationships, including our landlord, telephones, broadband, lone working devices, phones, printers and cleaning.
• Be the main contact for our IT managed services provider and act as the internal contact point for any  IT queries.

Organisational support

• Support the SLT with our day to day health and safety compliance including administering Health and Safety Committee meetings, carrying out workstation assessments and conducting regular H&S checks and annual PAT testing.
• Support the SLT with our data protection including administering GDPR Committee meetings, managing the relationship with our external Data Protection consultant and acting as the internal point of contact.
• Provide staff induction and on-boarding in relation to the office, IT and equipment.

Skills and experience: 

• Significant experience as a senior Executive Assistant at CEO level.
• Significant levels of office management experience.
• Strong administrative background, ideally with experience working in the non-profit sector but not essential
• Experience managing and overseeing contracts, ensuring the service providers are excellent value for money.
• Experience acting as secretariat to boards of trustees or similar governance bodies.
• Experience managing people in paid or voluntary roles.
• Excellent communicator in formal and informal communications, both verbally and in writing, to all stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate sensitively

Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it.  

Crisis Skylight Oxford is in the Old Fire Station in the centre of the city. It offers one to one coaching support from a team of coaches who can work with people around their housing needs and anything else that will support them to end their homelessness such as mental health and well-being, finances or finding employment. Alongside the coaching we offer practical, creative, and vocational workshops and accredited learning opportunities. The Old Fire Station building also accommodates a range of flexible arts spaces which are run by an independent arts company.

Morgan Hunt is supporting a local not for profit organisation, who provide high quality supported housing for vulnerable people. They are looking to recruit a Housing Support Worker to join them on a temporary basis initially, with the potential to become permanent for the right person. Properties are situation close to Manchester City Centre and Salford Shopping City.

As a Housing Support Worker, you will assist in the day to day running of the properties, carrying out housing support duties, whilst offering advice and maintaining contact with tenants to ensure effective management of the properties.

The role - Housing Support Worker

• Let properties in line with the organisations letting policy and procedure.
• Assess and process possible admissions to the accommodation and determine acceptance. In cases where information is present to indicate that persons should not be admitted, record the details accurately.
• Assess a prospective new tenant and advise them on the Assured Short-hold Tenancy agreement, tenant's handbook and other relevant Policies and Procedures.
• Record and undertake pre-admission inspections of properties and voids when and where appropriate.
• Ensure that all applicants receive appropriate help and advice to enable them to sustain a tenancy.
• Use the company's in-house IT system to maintain accurate records and to maintain corresponding written records accurately and in enough detail.
• Monitor check and inspect tenant's flats and own rooms to ensure the tenant is maintaining a clean room and its contents remain undamaged, carry out room inspections on a regular basis.
• Maintain daily written records and reports concerning tenants including accurate files. Make a full verbal and when necessary written report to the staff taking over the duty.
• Ensure that harmonious relations are maintained in all dealings with tenant's, their visitors, and other tenants within the property.
• Encourage and promote safety and security of their own dwellings.
• Monitor work practices to maintain their health, safety and welfare of colleagues, tenants, and visitors.

• Report repairs required, faulty equipment, breakages or damage - ensure access to the Properties for maintenance and contractors.
• Take on, investigate, develop and resolve complaints casework including disputes, breaches of Assured Short-hold Tenancy agreement conditions and harassment using a broad range of interventions in line with the company's behaviour policies and procedures.

We have been part of the wider Debt Free Advice partnership for over a decade and have success in delivering high quality debt advice to local residents who are facing financial difficulties. We are seeking an experienced debt advice caseworker who has a proven track record in helping and assisting clients facing financial difficulties and providing creative solutions to help alleviate their challenges in a sensitive and supportive role. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment. 

The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice.

Main responsibilities:

To provide over-indebted Londoners with free, face-to-face/telephone advice that is accurate, effective and tailored to individuals’ circumstances. This includes:

● Provide case work covering the full range of debt - Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.

● Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions. 

● Ensuring income maximisation through the appropriate take up of income, including those relating to water charges, benefits, tax and housing.

● Providing in-depth quality advice and on-going casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels.

● Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder.
