Following a merger between St Barnabas Hospices (incorporating St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House) and Martlets, we’ve undertaken a strategic restructure of the Fundraising and Communications teams and are recruiting to a number of new roles. These roles work across all three hospices and will play a fundamental part as we build and develop our new team. The Communications Manager (Marketing & Campaigns) leads a team of marketing and communications specialists in the delivery of communications support to stakeholders from across the three hospices. You’ll take pride in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring your team’s activity is prioritised and in line with organisational objectives.

You’ll have the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders; listening, understanding and applying your communications expertise to ensure that you and your team are delivering high quality marketing and communications services that meet the organisation’s needs.

Alongside the Head of Marketing & Communications, you’ll play a key role in planning and prioritisation for the wider Comms team, using your detailed stakeholder understanding, audience insight and market research to inform team plans.

We know kinship carers are strong, capable and fiercely determined to ensure they get what they need to support their kinship family. And we want to support them to feel confident and empowered to do that. Kinship has been awarded funding to develop the first ever training programme for kinship carers. The programme will support all kinship carers across England in the caring role.

This role is core member of our Training team responsible for the delivery and facilitation of our in person and online workshops for kinship carers alongside colleagues some of whom have lived experience of kinship care. There will be a lot of delivery in person and online to reach kinship carers across England and individual and team targets to be met as part of this high-profile contract.

You’ll need to be a confident, experienced facilitator with exceptional communication skills. You’ll have a creative, energetic and determined approach to providing engaging and interactive experiences for participants and you’ll understand how people take on information and be able to differentiate your style to respond to a wide variety of needs.

On a practical level you’ll be confident and organised in your approach, be calm under pressure, and be equally comfortable facilitating sessions in person and online to large and small audiences. You’ll be confident using technology including Zoom and be familiar and at ease using a wide range of tools and techniques relevant to both online and in person learning.

This is a very exciting time to join our expanding Visiting Caseworker Service. We are seeking two new colleagues, who will join our current team of two caseworkers covering the UK and Ireland.  These newly created positions will be regionally based, one covering South West England & South Wales, and the other North West England & North Wales (with other travel across the UK on occasion).

Visiting Caseworkers each deal with an approximate caseload of 70-100 cases / visits per year.  Central to the role will be supporting and advocating on behalf of vulnerable applicants, or those who are living in particularly complex or challenging situations. The job will be wide-ranging and include elements of advocacy, support, income maximisation, mediation, partnership working and processing our own grants where appropriate, with the overall aim to reach long-term sustainable solutions for Anglican clergy households.

Working closely with the Visiting Caseworker Manager and the wider Charitable Services team, key responsibilities will include:

Receive referrals from applicants via the Grants & Services team, for potential casework and home visits

• Assess and prioritise urgent cases on a weekly basis.

Conduct home visit (or online meeting)

• Provide thorough assessment of current situation, taking into consideration time available and wellbeing of the applicant.
• Conduct general income maximisation check (welfare benefits, grants check etc), where necessary.
• Identify, discuss and escalate (to Designated Safeguarding Officer) any safeguarding concerns within the household.
• Gather information in order to create individualised action plans with the primary contact and other household members. 
  • Assess and prioritise urgent actions during the meeting.

Develop an action plan 

• Complete a written summary of the meeting and draft an action plan for possible areas of help and support with allocated responsibilities and agreed timelines.
• Prioritise urgent actions and agree responsibility for each action with applicant.
• Liaise with other agencies (e.g., DWP, Social Services, NHS, other charities, voluntary organisations, occupational benevolent funds, Dioceses, CofE Pensions Board etc.) where necessary.
• Refer to our own partnership support services if appropriate for help and support.
• Research and identify any local organisations for longer-term support.
• Consider and recommend most appropriate grant support through our own internal grants programme.
• Advocate on behalf of the applicant (e.g., complete internal and external applications, liaise with other external agencies, members of the Church where necessary). 
• Act as third party for complaints, mediation or appeal hearings with applicants, either in person, online, or helping prepare a written submission.
• Keep accurate and objective notes and communications within our CRM system and ensure this is kept up to date on a daily basis.

Follow-up

• Manage and update action plans, while keeping in contact with applicant on a regular basis.
• Encourage and empower applicants to complete their actions and know when to step in, as and when necessary.
• Only in exceptional circumstances, consider a further home visit, if deemed appropriate

Other reasonable duties and projects commensurate with the post

• Support and work closely with other VC colleagues sharing areas of expertise.
• In particularly busy times, act as an overflow for grant applications, to support colleagues in the Charitable Services Team.

To be considered for this position with great scope for growth and development potential, applicants should demonstrate:

• Significant experience of working within a charity / not-for-profit or grant making trust, supporting individuals and families with complex health and care needs, elderly, or vulnerable applicants, face-to-face, online and over the phone.
• Significant knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • Welfare benefits and submitting appeals or complaints.
  • Mental health support
  • SEN education advice including SEN support, EHCPs and SENDIST tribunals.
  • Local authority and other statutory support such as Social Service Assessments and services, complaints, DFG entitlements.
  • NHS services, continuing health care either for children or adults.
• Experience of working alongside and liaising with external agencies and organisations
• Excellent problem solving, prioritisation and influencing skills with a belief of empowering individuals
• Experience and knowledge of safeguarding, knowing when to escalate concerns.

• Willingness to work alone, with the support of line manager, and colleagues in the Charitable Services team.

As Head of Advocacy, you will lead the development and delivery of Medical Justice’s advocacy programme, drawing on our evidence of the harm caused by immigration detention, to secure lasting change through combinations of research, policy, parliamentary, and media work, as well as contribute to strategic litigation.

Reporting directly to the Director, you will lead our experienced team advocacy team, help develop our strategic objectives and shape our emerging Senior Management Team.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Develop the advocacy team’s expertise in all of the ways our evidence can be used to effect change, including policy work both with the Home Office and NHS England who commission healthcare in immigration detention, parliamentary work, media work, and to contribute to strategic litigation, and how and when they interrelate.
2. Understand and keep updated on what is happening with immigration detention policy, including matters that influence it, such as the literature on health issues of detainees, key legal judgements, inquests, reports by official monitors and parliamentary committees, responses to parliamentary questions, parliamentary debates, research produced by other organisations, and information that you glean from FOI requests.
3. Keep abreast of the wider political context that may influence immigration and detention policy.
4. Represent Medical Justice at external meetings and events.
   - Participate in Home Office, NHS England and monitoring bodies’ stakeholder forums.
   - Participate in formal and informal ad-hoc NGO groupings.
5. Work both reactively and pro-actively, identify opportunities for securing change and prioritise work according to its strategic importance as well as ‘return on investment’.
6. Work with the Director and the Head of Casework to ensure ;
7. Further develop Medical Justice’s Strategy and ensure that strategic objectives across the organisation are impactful, current and coherent.
   - Developments that affect detention policy are shared within Medical Justice.
   - Issues experienced in our casework are documented and used in our advocacy work.
   - Our material is robust so that we maintain credibility as an organisation which is vital for our advocacy work as well as for the use of our medico-legal reports in clients’ individual legal cases.
   - Develop the monitoring and evaluation framework for our advocacy work.
8. Facilitate the meaningful involvement of people with lived experience of detention Medical Justice advocacy work, including in its design and development.
9. Line-manage the Parliamentary & Research Analyst and the Researcher, including providing support in terms of personal development/training and well-being. There will also be line-managing responsibilities for some periods of an individual on the Casework Trainee programme for people with lived experience, once it is introduced.

Research / line-management of the Researcher

1. Consulting colleagues, other NGOs and lawyers to identify research projects that draw on medical evidence from our casework that would have the most impact, including carrying out research for strategic litigation and supporting such litigation.
2. Collaborate with other organisations as appropriate.
3. Lead the team in conducting research and provide periodic feedback of policy implications regarding the emerging findings to others within the organisation for consideration.
4. Lead the team in the producing analysis of research and audits of our MLRs, writing up into required formats, including research reports, text for inclusion in policy work, submissions, witness statements, briefing papers for parliamentarians, and media articles. 
5. Together with colleagues, offer suitable material for peer review publication and contribute where appropriate to research carried out by medical professional bodies and others.
6. Contribute to the further development of the Medical Justice datasystem and its functionality.

Policy work

1. Carry out policy work with the Home Office, NHS England and their contractors – this may include responding to consultations, and challenging issues proactively.
2. Build relationships with the Home Office, NHS England, and monitoring bodies – make sure Medical Justice is included in all relevant consultations and alert others if they have been missed out.
3. Collaborate as much as is sensible with other organisations to get the best outcomes for people in detention.

Parliamentary work / line-management of the Parliamentary & Research Analyst

1. Oversee our work as the secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Immigration Detention, raising awareness of immigration detention amongst parliamentarians and priming them to take action. Work to ensure the APPG brings together parliamentarians with experts, NGOs, lawyers and people with lived experience to amplify our collective impact.
2. Oversee the briefing of parliamentarians for challenging unjust policies, asking parliamentary questions, holding parliamentary debates, opposing parliamentary approval of harmful policy amendments, and assisting parliamentarians in tabling amendments to relevant Bills.
3. Oversee submissions parliamentary committees to inquires they hold as well as the briefing of committee members and clerks.

 Galvanise Medical professional organisations

1. Work with Royal Colleges, the British Medical Association and others to galvanise their communities, encouraging helpful evidence from them, and organising events with them.

Media

1. Work both with the Director and on your own to create mainstream and social media opportunities to promote the work of Medical Justice and the needed content.

General

• Provide reports for staff and/or trustees as requested.
• Respect and comply in full with Medical Justice patients’ confidentiality requirements and contribute to developing our own policy in this area.
• To work flexibly as a member of a team and the organisation and undertake other reasonable duties and responsibilities at the request of the Director.
• To assist the smooth running of the organisation, working with other Medical Justice staff and the trustees to meet overall objectives, including strategic and operational planning, participation in periodic appraisals, and contribute to organisational development. As a key member of our Community Fundraising team, you will work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager on new and existing fundraising activities, helping to maintain and develop existing relationships and work proactively to identify new contacts and opportunities for development.  This is an exciting role, in a growing team within a charity that makes a huge impact across our communities. JOB DESCRIPTION

1.Main purpose of role

To develop The Family Centre Deaf Children’s (FCDC) fundraising channels and secure income from grant funders and individual donors in order to sustain and develop the charity’s services and infrastructure, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and contributing to FCDC's overall strategic development, aims and operations.

The Development Officer is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our Fundraising Strategy 2024-2029 to support the charity’s continuous improvement, financial sustainability and future growth.

2.Duties and Responsibilities

2.1 General

2.3 Income generation from Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Agencies

· Maximise income from grant-giving organisations to ensure sustainable growth of restricted and unrestricted income in line with agreed income targets.

· Build and manage relationships with Trusts and Foundations to secure grants of £5,000 or more.

· Research, contact, correspond and meet with funders (as and when required) to build relationships prior to submitting funding applications.

· Collaborate with the FCDC team across the organisation to create compelling fundraising proposals and produce high-quality applications, reports and budgets.

· To assume responsibility for a portfolio of current and potential grant funders to maintain, grow and/or revive their support for the charity.

· Develop a robust pipeline of charitable Trusts and Foundations to support FCDC’s services and activities.

· Maintain relationships with funders between applications to nurture positive relationships between them and FCDC.

· Work alongside the Centre Manager and Board of Trustees to develop partnerships and positive working relationships with current and potential grant funders.

2.4 Donor engagement and stewardship

· Working closely with FCDC’s Centre Manager and the Chair to develop a donor journey that encourages long term support from individuals.

· Process individual donations, including: recording donations, thanking supporters in a timely fashion and responding to ad hoc supporter queries.

· Contribute to and proofread fundraising appeals, marketing materials and FCDC digital content.

· Support existing and new supporters of the charity in their initiatives to raise funds for FCDC.

2.5 Funder and donor data management

· Ensure that all funders and individual donor contacts and activity are accurately recorded on our funder and donor database.

· Work alongside the Centre Manager to ensure that all personal data is gathered, held, and used in-line with relevant data protection regulations and FCDC’s Data Protection Policy.

· Accurately record Trusts, Foundations and other grant income data on FCDC’s financial ICT system.

· Compile and submit timely funder reports, working alongside the Centre Manager in checking monitoring data, proofreading reports and ensuring reports are uploaded to funder portals, as and when required.

2.6 Fundraising Strategy 2024-2029

· Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of FCDC’s Fundraising Strategy 2024-2029, with specific focus on individual giving, community fundraising and Trusts and Foundations.

· Support the Chair and Centre Manager to set up a new Fundraising and Events Working Group (consisting of volunteers, service users, Trustees and staff), who will support and act as a sounding board for new fundraising initiatives and open doors to new income streams.

· Keep up-to-date with fundraising trends, opportunities and best practice and recommend changes in our funding strategies and annual fundraising action plans.

· Maximise income from new fundraising opportunities as and when they arise in the course of our work. For example: local sports group donations and company payroll giving.

2.7 Reporting

· Regularly report on fundraising outputs, outcomes and the impact of fundraising initiatives to staff, the Chair and the Board of Trustees.

· Contribute to funder monitoring activities and evaluation reports to ensure that FCDC meets its reporting obligations to funders.

About the role

The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

Background
Evolve is a Cambridgeshire-based charity (a CIO), founded in 1978, which provides affordable mental health counselling to adults in Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. We deliver talking therapies to adults – online and in person. The Evolve counselling community is made up of around 50 qualified practitioners working part-time at donated or subsidised rates. Our service delivers around 500 counselling sessions per month to a broad range of individuals, many of whom would not otherwise be able to access counselling support. Evolve also provides supervision, reflective practice, critical incident support and mental health awareness and related training to organisations.

Main purpose of the job
The Head of Counselling works with our counsellor members and executive team to ensure that Evolve is the local counselling charity of choice - managing existing client relationships and service contracts, as well as seeking and securing new business. They are responsible for the clinical leadership of our counselling and related services to clients, and for supporting, motivating, and managing our counsellor members.

About the candidate
The successful candidate will be an appropriately qualified and experienced individual who has leadership expertise, with the ability to engage with colleagues, trustees, counselling clients, organisational contacts and other stakeholders. They will have demonstrable experience of delivering a high-quality service in line with ethical standards and good practice, monitoring and evaluating impact and outcomes, as well as identifying and implementing, alongside other members of the executive team, service development/improvement and growth initiatives. Essential requirements

• A minimum of five years post-qualification clinical experience.
• Extensive experience of recruiting, leading, and motivating a diverse team of counselling practitioners, including providing clinical support, reviewing performance, and project/change management.
• Significant experience Clinical Supervisor, supervising qualified counsellors on a group, or individual, basis.
• Extensive knowledge of the legal and ethical frameworks that relate to the counselling profession.
• Considerable experience in safeguarding individuals and management of clinical risk.
• Strong professional and clinical judgment.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a diverse team, whilst retaining the flexibility  to work independently and the ability to build positive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills as well as the provision of executive level reports.
• Ability to convene and lead committee work, preparing and running to agendas and guiding groups to positive outcomes and consensual decisions.
• Demonstrable understanding of the charity or voluntary sector.
• Experience of costing, pricing, and monitoring financial performance of services, including knowledge or experience in forecasting and budgeting.
• Excellent IT skills including use of MS Office. 
• Experience in the use of a clinical case management system, including analysis and presentation of clinical data, and accurate client billings.
• Experience in the planning and successful delivery of service improvement/development initiatives.
• The ability to be flexible and respond reasonably to the needs of the CIO.

Desirable qualities

• Knowledge/experience of statutory mental health services.
• Clinical leadership experience in more than one organisation and across modalities/specialities. 
• Experience of providing clinical and commercial input to successful funding bids, including subsequent delivery.
• Knowledge of the local East of England mental health and voluntary/charitable service community, including a willingness to represent Evolve locally as required.
• Ability to support a social media presence that represents and promotes the service.
• Ability to create and plan promotional events.

Carers’ Hub plays a vital role in Lambeth, supporting the many unpaid carers across the borough with 1 to 1 and peer support, signposting, training, workshops and social activities. Our work stems from the fact that carers often go about their roles despite the toll it might take on their own wellbeing, often having to make sacrifices that hamper their own ability to lead a normal life. About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Office Administrator to join our team. To manage the overall running of the Carers’ Hub office, including overseeing HR admin, implement policy and procedures, including Health and Safety, maintain administrative processes, manage stakeholders, serve the trustee board, and work closely with the Carers’ Hub team in the implementation of events and projects.

The Office Administrator role is a new position that will provide a wide variety of operational support to the Carers’ Hub Leadership Team as we develop our offer and increase the number of carers who access our services. This job description will be reviewed on a regular basis and may be subject to change, particularly as the needs of the charity change.

About you

As the Office Administrator you will be responsible for managing the overall running of the Carers’ Hub office and administrative processes.

The post holder will:

• Work collaboratively and have excellent communication skills. 

• Be organised, self-motivated and able to manage your time effectively

• Have the ability to solve problems effectively and make decisions in the face of competing priorities

• Be adaptable and flexible, able to embrace change and quickly adjust to the evolving charity’s needs

• Be able to work unsupervised and under pressure.

• Be technically proficient, experience of a CRM system is desirable
