Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Oversee all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring alignment with the foundation’s strategic goals across UK and Brazil
• Manage and monitor cash flow, forecasts by restricted causes , and the overall financial performance.
• Prepare accurate financial reports for the COO, Founders or and Board of Trustees, including monthly management accounts, impact reports and reporting against the agreed KPIs
• Lead on the preparation of the annual budget, consolidating the UK and Brazil budget, and provide financial analysis to support decision-making across the organization.

Ensure compliance with all tax, financial, and regulatory requirements relevant to a charitable organization.

Compliance and Governance:

• Ensure the foundation complies with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, particularly in the charity and non-profit sector.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to manage risk and ensure strong governance across UK and Brazil
• Manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring timely submission of audited accounts and submissions to charities commission
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the charity sector, advising senior management on compliance and regulatory matters.
• Act as the main point of contact for legal matters and ensure that contracts and agreements are legally sound.

Risk Management:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to identify and mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks.
• Conduct regular audits of internal systems and processes to identify areas of improvement.
• Implement safeguards to protect the foundation’s assets and reputation.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Lead and mentor the finance analyst, promoting a culture of transparency, integrity, and excellence.
• Collaborate with the program teams to ensure financial goals and project goals are aligned.
• Support the fundraising team in grant applications, ensuring financial compliance and reporting for all grants and donations.

Key Requirements:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant professional qualification.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of senior financial management experience, preferably in the charity, non-profit, or social enterprise sector.
• Strong understanding of financial management, charity governance, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in managing external audits and working with auditors, legal professionals, and regulatory bodies.
• Excellent knowledge of charity tax laws, financial regulations, and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in risk management and developing compliance frameworks.
• Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-finance senior stakeholders and Founders clearly.

HR Officer

We are looking for a HR Officer to join the team supporting the HR function, in this part-time, hybrid working role.

This role could also be full-time incorporating the operations support function, which at the moment is as separate standalone part-time role.

The Role

As HR Officer you will provide support and specialist HR knowledge to all of the operational functions. This includes supporting the Finance Manager and other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on the delivery of various projects, maintaining employee records, and advising on compliance with UK Employment and Health and Safety Laws.

Main areas of responsibility include:

• Maintain up to date employee records
• Support health and safety compliance and training
• Support and coordinate staff training
• Training new staff on systems and day-to-day procedures
• Day-to-day management of the HR management system, BrightHR
• Assist in the preparation of monthly payroll instruction for accountants

About You

With experience in a HR role OR equivalent experience in a role with evidence of transferable skills, you will have experience of overseeing administrative systems and the ability to manage a varied and busy workload.

With excellent organisational skills and time management, you will have knowledge and understanding of key HR functions and UK Employment Law.

HR/Payroll Co-ordinator

Key Responsibilities

You will be part of a small team of specialists who lead, advise and support the business and help deliver our strategy. With around 160 staff members the HR Team play a hugely important role in all aspects from recruitment to learning, wellbeing to pensions. Key tasks include

• Submit and check our payroll which is managed by Moorepay. This includes handling payroll inquiries, maintaining payroll records, and addressing any discrepancies.
• With the support of our external pension’s advisors, ensure our pension scheme is correctly governed, correct communications are sent to staff and that payments are uploaded to our Pension Scheme.
• Ensure our HR platform (Natural HR) is the single version of truth on employee details, maintained with the latest employee information and that workflows operate correctly and in a timely manner.
• Ensure our learning management system (Learning Hangar) is operating correctly, new courses are added or updated, and staff maintain recency with their compliance courses.
• Lead/oversee the recruitment and induction of new staff.
• An annual renewal of our benefit insurances supported by our brokers Mercer.
• Deal with internal employee relations matters, if they arise. e.g. OH referral, exit interviews, capability reviews.
• Coach our HR apprentice.
• Develop your own skills to ensure KSS maintains compliance with legislation on Pensions, Pay and People related legislation.

As the Digital Data Officer reporting into the Digital Data Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and leveraging data within the Income Generation team. This position involves overseeing the collection, storage and analysis of data to support strategic decisions and improve operational efficiency. MAP’s Mission

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement in the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

Job Purpose

MAP is in a period of ambitious growth and rapid development, as we respond to the massive humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and in the West Bank and Lebanon. The role of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is to provide leadership, drive and direction in the development and delivery of MAP’s new strategic ambition, maximising the charity’s sustainable impact.

This is a key role for MAP, and it is expected that the job holder would be making a long-term commitment to the organisation. The post-holder will be tasked with leading MAP to deliver on the strategic ambition of becoming a high impact, global £50 M+ income organisation which enables over 1 million Palestinians to access improved healthcare annually by 2028.  MAP’s income in 2023 was £35 M and the forecast for 2024 is £47 M.

Experience

• Experienced leader in the non-profit sector or public sector in a relevant field, preferably with experience of international development and work in complex, protracted emergencies.

About the position

The successful candidate will be a finance professional with experience of working in an international setting. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, flexibility and team playing are essential requirements as the post holder will offer broad support across various finance tasks – including in relation to internal financial reporting, donor reporting and financial monitoring of grants to partners.  This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing, highly regarded organisation doing incredible work around the world.

Responsibilities 

Program Finance – supporting the Program Finance Manager to:

• Monitor financial aspects of Freedom Fund grants to partners.

• Assist in commissioning and reviewing partner due diligence assessments.

• Support with monitoring the completion of actions resulting from due diligence assessments of new partners.

• Assist in reviewing partners budgets.

• Review quarterly partner finance reports to ensure these are completed accurately and are compliant with Freedom Fund reporting requirements.

• Prepare and post the journal for partner expenditure into FF finance system (Microsoft Business Central).

• Reconcile partner expenditure balance sheet accounts.

• Maintain program finance information in the grant management system (currently held in Access, transitioning soon to Salesforce). 

• Assist in commissioning and reviewing partner financial reviews.

• Participate in coordination meetings between Finance and Programs teams. 

• Support the assessment of partner financial risk, including maintaining the partner risk summary table and dashboard.

Compliance and Reporting – supporting the Senior Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager to:

• Help monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures across the organisation.

• Help build the capacity of partners in relation to their understanding of Freedom Fund and donor standards/grant conditions (particularly US Government)

• Help to build the capacity of the staff, increasing awareness of key compliance requirements and embedding compliance within organisational culture.

• Ensure the accurate recording of restricted funding within the accounting system.

• Help produce donor budgets and reports. 

• Help produce Freedom Fund departmental budgets and management accounts. 

Other Support for the Finance team 

• Design and implement ad-hoc reports as required

• Assist with donor and year end statutory audits.

• Perform monthly reconciliations between the grant management system (Salesforce) and the accounting system (Microsoft Business Central)

• Assist with month-end balance sheets reconciliations and other related month end tasks

• Help develop and maintain financial guidelines, templates, systems, and procedures as required. 

• Help ensure a strong financial control environment, ensuring accounting records are complete and accurate

• Provide cover for other Finance team members, as required.

• Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Senior Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager.

Qualifications and experience

• Experience working in the Finance department of an International NGO or local NGO funded by international grants.
