RNID Near You Co-ordinator

As a Co-ordinator for our RNID Near You community service in City and Hackney, you will focus and lead on developing and delivering the community service across the area through drop-in sessions offering:
· practical hearing aid support
· information on hearing loss and tinnitus
· hearing checks
You will be responsible for co-ordinating up to 10 drop-in sessions and be able to recruit, train and manage a team of up to 15 volunteers to deliver the service across City and Hackney. You will have responsibility for the set up and running of these sessions and have good local knowledge of the chosen area to seek new opportunities for delivery of the RNID Near-You services.
We are looking to appoint a motivated person with a keen interest in supporting people with their hearing loss. While you will be home based, there will be regular travel to all venues where we will provide drop-in sessions in community settings.
You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals and service users. You have experience managing events, your own workload and are able to work evenings/ weekends if required. You are able to physically assist clients with hearing aids sensitively, giving clear guidance and taking into account individual wishes and health needs.
You are ready to work for a home-working organisation and have good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word.

Role Overview
An extraordinary opportunity has come up to lead The Resilience Project’s next phase of growth. From start-up to scale-up, TRP is now looking for a dynamic leader to develop our offerings and oversee our international operations. The CEO will provide strategic leadership and direction to The Resilience Project, ensuring the organisation achieves its mission and strategic goals. This role is a unique blend of internally and externally focused responsibilities. For the latter, working alongside our Founder, you will act as the face of the organisation, building partnerships, securing funding, and ensuring that our programs continue to deliver exceptional impact. For the former, working alongside our COO, you will oversee the financial health of the organisation, iterate scaling infrastructure strategy and foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, joy and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Focus on scaling and strengthening The Resilience Project, particularly developing alternative revenue generating pathways, key partnerships and long-term sustainable funding mechanisms. From this, develop and implement a long-term strategy that aligns with the organisation’s mission, vision, and values. Lead the organisation in responding to emerging challenges and opportunities in climate justice, youth mental health, and resilience-building. Embody and model our values of courage, care, co-design, community, joy and inclusivity.
- Organisational Development: Build and nurture a high-performing team of international staff and volunteers. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and empowering organisational culture. Work closely with the Senior Board to ensure effective governance and accountability.
- Financial Management: Working with the Finance and Fundraising Lead, develop and oversee budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and smooth cashflow. Diversify income streams through grants, partnerships, donations, and other revenue opportunities. Lead in the development and creation of additional revenue opportunities.
- Programme Oversight: Working with the Programmes Office, ensure the continued delivery and development of impactful initiatives such as the Resilience Fellowship Programme, community Programmes and workshops. Monitor and evaluate programme impact to ensure quality, effectiveness and relevance to the youth climate justice movement. Oversee our international expansion, leading on risk assessment and ensuring any development promotes sensitivity, inclusion, co-design and resilience.
- Partnerships and Advocacy: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and youth organisations. Act as an ambassador for The Resilience Project, advocating for youth empowerment and climate resilience on national and international platforms.
- Communications and Fundraising: Oversee the organisation’s communications and marketing strategy to enhance visibility and engagement. Lead fundraising efforts to secure the resources necessary to achieve the organisation’s goals.
- Line Management: Act as line manager to Finance and Fundraising Lead, and Marketing and Communications Lead, overseeing workflow and monthly wellbeing check-ins.
Qualifications
Are you?
- A strategic thinker with a proven track record in leadership roles within the non-profit, social enterprise, or environmental sectors.
- Experienced in organisational management and team leadership, with a collaborative and empowering approach.

Essential:
- Proven experience in senior leadership roles within the non-profit, social enterprise, or environmental sectors.

Desirable:

- Experience of developing and implementing revenue generation beyond grants.
- Experience in scaling a non-profit or social enterprise internationally.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks for non-profits.
- Working knowledge of platforms such as Asana, Typeform, Airtable, and Google workspace.

We are now seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organisation into the future, driving impact, sustainability, and innovation.
The role:
As CEO, you will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence. You will work closely with the Board of Trustees to shape the charity’s priorities and ensure financial sustainability, effective service delivery, and long-term growth.

Essential criteria:
- Proven leadership experience at a senior level in the charity, public, or private sector.
- Strong experience in fundraising, financial management, and income generation, with a track record of securing diverse funding sources.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement and strategic partnership-building, particularly with government bodies, corporate funders, and grant-makers.
- A deep understanding of domestic abuse and safeguarding issues or experience in a related field (e.g., social justice, housing, mental health, or women’s services).
- Experience leading organisational change, service expansion, or digital transformation.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to balance strategic vision and operational detail.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills, with confidence in public speaking and media engagement.

About the organisation
The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI) is the leading charitable organisation promoting the enjoyment, study and conservation of wild plants in Britain and Ireland. We aim to build a diverse community of skilled and enthused botanists, provide data and science to help address biodiversity loss and climate change and disseminate information to drive a passion for plants. To do this we provide opportunities for involvement for all through a range of participation projects, surveys, indoor and outdoor events, training opportunities and the production of books and other resources. Our Distribution Database (DDb) holds over 50 million plant records, making it one of the world’s largest biological recording databases and in March 2023 we published the third Plant Atlas, mapping changes in the distribution of British and Irish flora. About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become the first Administration Officer for the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland. The charity and our membership and activities have grown rapidly over the last five years through two rounds of strategic change. There is continued strong demand for our data, expertise and skills, creating opportunities to develop our projects and partnerships. We need excellent administration in place to ensure we are deploying our capacity and resources in the best way to support the Society and our members and to advance the understanding and appreciation of wild plants.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to work across the BSBI, supporting staff and volunteers in the smooth running of the Society, helping shape processes for a resilient future.
The post would suit an early career individual with an interest in botany/ecology who is keen to develop their skills and their network through a full-time post within the charitable sector, or an experienced administrator looking to make a vital contribution to a growing organisation.
