As we continue to grow and expand our operation, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Financial & Operating Officer (CFOO) to join our senior leadership team.
The Role
We are looking for a seasoned and qualified financial & operational leader to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our financial strategy, ensuring strong governance and compliance, and supporting our mission to create lasting change for vulnerable households.
The CFOO will report to the CEO and work closely with them and the Board of Trustees, overseeing financial & internal operations, advising on strategic financial matters, and safeguarding our resources for maximum impact In addition to the financial aspect of the role, the CFOO will support the CEO with the day to day operational running of the trust, overseeing HR, Admin, Compliance and IT functions. This role also includes leadership responsibilities for a small internal dedicated team and oversight of external contractors and consultants.
The role is home based with some travel to meetings, including overnight stays within the UK as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Trust's financial strategy, aligned with our mission and long-term goals.
- Oversee governance, risk, and compliance processes, ensuring that all regulatory and ethical standards are upheld.
- Present clear, insightful financial reports and analysis to the Board of Trustees, supporting informed decision-making.
- Develop and oversee the internal systems and processes within the Trust, fostering a culture of accuracy, integrity, and accountability.
- Work closely with the CEO and senior management team, providing guidance on financial sustainability and risk management.
- Proactively identify and manage financial risks, ensuring resources are deployed effectively and responsibly.
About You
- A qualified Chartered Accountant
- An Experienced Financial Strategist with a proven track record in strategic finance within a charitable organisation, foundation, trust or relevant setting.
- Experience of overseeing both Financial and non-financial internal functions, processes and systems.
- Risk-Aware and Analytical: Skilled at assessing and mitigating risks, with a highly analytical approach to financial & wider risk management.
- Skilled Communicator: Exceptional ability to communicate financial & wider insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including presenting to the Board of Trustees.
- Governance and Compliance Expert: Strong knowledge of governance, compliance, and risk management in the charitable sector.
- A Strong and Supportive Leader: Leadership experience with a small team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

About the role
From local and national support services to green spaces, sports clubs, museums and the arts, voluntary organisations and volunteers are a vital part of communities across the country. As the membership community for charities and voluntary organisations, NCVO has championed volunteers and the voluntary sector for over a hundred years.
The Senior Practical Support Officer role is key to the delivery of NCVO’s support for small charities. You will be a key part of a small team, with a focus on managing and responding to enquiries that come in via phone and email to our Small Charity Helpdesk. We receive 400 – 500 enquiries a month about setting up and running a charity, with a particular focus on volunteering and governance.
Alongside the helpdesk you will also work with colleagues across NCVO on the production, and curation of content for our website and with internal and external stakeholders to produce sector leading practical webinars.
You will have a particular focus on volunteering, working with multiple stakeholders on a range of cross-organisational initiatives to ensure we develop and share best practice on involving volunteers.
Your good working knowledge of the voluntary sector, understanding of the specific needs of small charities and sharp focus on delivering excellent customer service will help us to effectively respond to the needs of the sector.
This is fast paced role and with good time management and attention to detail this role has a lasting/meaningful impact on the hundreds of charities we support.

We have an exciting opening for someone to join our senior leadership team leading our campaigning work. We need a strategic expert who understands politics, campaigning and how to get the best out of campaigning organisations. The Campaigns Director leads the Campaigns department, crafting our plans and supporting the team to execute powerful, people-powered campaigns that shape the country to be fair, respectful and sustainable. The National Flood Forum (NFF) is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual for the role of Flood Engagement Officer for London and the Home Counties. • Global perspective and leadership: Continue to build a truly global organization, with a presence across multiple regions. While much of our team, work, and revenue are currently concentrated in the United States, we are committed to maintaining and expanding our international presence. The next CEO must have a global outlook, be comfortable working across different cultures, and actively support CPI’s vision of remaining a diverse and internationally balanced organization. It will be crucial for the CEO to lead efforts to rebalance our organizational focus, ensuring that we continue to strengthen CPI’s work across the world.
• Strengthen our operational core: Build a cohesive and high-functioning foundation across Finance, People & Culture, and Communications. REMUNERATION
At CPI, we are committed to aligning our compensation framework with the principles of fairness, equity, and transparency. We benchmark salaries using national, country-specific data and aim to offer compensation between the 50th and 75th percentiles for all staff roles. Additionally, we maintain a 5-to-1 ratio between the most senior and junior staff, ensuring that our compensation structure remains equitable across the organization.
For the CEO role, a competitive salary will be offered in line with local benchmarking for the country where the CEO is based. As a reference, in our two largest offices, the salary range for a UK-based CEO is £170,000-200,000, and for a US-based CEO, the range is $275,000-310,000. Manage existing SSN locations:

- Use our CRM system to track partnership engagement, including relationship status, history and payments. This will likely include engaging with partners regarding outstanding payments.
- Host and facilitate quarterly online network events to encourage collaboration amongst SSN locations. Support our locations with managing their data integrity. This will include recruiting and managing volunteers. Measure and report on impact using Theory of Change and other metrics, both internally and for our partners. Support the Street Support Network Team:
- Provide appropriate support and direction to the two team members.

Income Maximisation and Fundraising:

Job Title: Head of Grants
Reports to: CEO
Salary: £45,000 - £47,000 pa (dependent on experience)

About Us
The Veterans’ Foundation (VF) is an independent grant-making charitable foundation. It has established a substantial grants’ programme to support charities and organisations in the UK that provide charitable support to those in need among serving armed forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families. The charity has grown rapidly since inception in July 2016 and has to date (Oct 24) given away more than £25M to good causes and handed out around £1.6M to good causes each quarter for the past year.
The VF supports a broad range of charities and organisations that deliver a wide variety of projects to members of the armed forces’ community including those that reduce homelessness, increase employment, provide welfare and medical support, increase confidence and social integration, as well as reducing dependence on alcohol and drugs. This remote role can be worked from anywhere in the UK, ideally over 2 days Monday-Friday. The salary for the role is £29,000-£31,000 (pro rata £11,600- £12,400).
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify Funding Opportunities: Research trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies whose criteria align with PKD Charity’s work. Build a robust pipeline of potential funders.
Craft Compelling Applications: Prepare, write, and submit high-quality, persuasive funding applications. Tailor proposals to meet each funder’s specific guidelines and highlight the charity’s unique impact.
Data-Driven Case Development: Gather and analyse relevant information to create compelling cases for support, backed by data that showcases the impact of our programs.
Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective funders, ensuring consistent communication, appreciation, and donor care to foster long-term engagement.
Expand Funding Pool: Utilise sector knowledge to identify and approach new funders, increasing the charity’s income streams and securing diverse funding sources.
Progress Tracking and Reporting: Provide regular updates to the CEO on application progress, successful funding, and potential new opportunities. Develop and manage systems to monitor deadlines, submissions, income received, and application status.
Donor Communication: Ensure funders are kept informed about the charity’s work, including submitting progress reports and impact updates that highlight the value of their contributions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other colleagues, especially service delivery and finance, to ensure that information sharing and reporting are aligned and effective.
ABOUT YOU:
Proven Experience: You have a strong background in fundraising, particularly in trust and foundation grants, and are comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
Organised and Detail-Oriented: You excel at managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and paying close attention to detail.
Collaborative Team Player: You are flexible and ready to contribute to various aspects of the charity's work, embracing a team spirit.
Effective Communicator: You possess excellent writing skills for creating compelling grant applications and are skilled at nurturing funder relationships through clear and professional communication.
Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM systems and website management is a plus, as is a proactive approach to automating processes where possible.
