thrivin’ together is a UK women-only organisation led by lived experience of gambling. We offer space and time to women who actively gamble, are in gambling recovery or are impacted by someone else’s gambling. Set up as a CIC in July 2022 we have consulted with our community and co-produced support and activities for women to support a recovery with dignity, not apology.

Our approach is choice, voice and change and we seek to inspire and instil hope, ensuring that no woman in the UK impacted by gambling feels alone. We provide one to one support, group support and activities, access to counselling and Helping Hand evoucher payments. We involve our women, and they shape what we do. Currently all our work is online.

In this important role, you will manage our team to empower women by delivering responsive care, activities and support. The role will directly line manage our team through supervisions and fortnightly team meetings including the monitoring and reporting of progress and wellbeing. The role will ensure day to day administrative and operational processes are up to date and run smoothly.

The Project Manager will lead on our quarterly Advisory Board and Professional’s Network meetings and coordinate workshops and activities in collaboration with our team. The role will take responsibility as a Safeguarding Lead and will ensure policies are up to date with support from our Directors and Administrator.

Administration tasks, promoting the organisation and developing partnerships (within gambling recovery and beyond) are expectations of this role.

We welcome women who have been affected by their own or someone else’s gambling, however this is not essential criteria or a compulsory disclosure.

Fundraising Partnership Officer

The Role

Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work.
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear trainees. This includes running application workshops with past trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics. 

Relationship Management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations.
• You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre.

Church Community

• The Assistant Coach is directly employed by River Church, though it is not a requirement of the role for the successful candidate to join River Church as their worshipping community if they are already part of another local church
• Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within River Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation.

Make a Change 

Make a Change is a community-wide, early response approach to people using abusive behaviours (or who are concerned that they might be) towards a current or ex-partner. The model has been developed by Respect in partnership with Women’s Aid Federation England, drawing inspiration from their Change that Lasts approach. It includes three strands: expert support programme for perpetrators with parallel support for survivors, workforce development and community outreach.

Improving the safety, freedom and wellbeing of adult and child survivors of domestic abuse is a key outcome for our work with perpetrators.  The Make a Change model is a multi-partner project offering local areas a framework for delivering perpetrator work. Where feasible, we aim to establish partnerships with local survivor domestic abuse service to deliver parallel support for survivors (referred to as Integrated Support Service) as part the expert support strand.

Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone is a 21st century youth hub located at the heart of Blackburn and a dedicated site in Darwen, open to young people aged 5 to 25 years old, aiming to change the prospects offered to young people in the area. The Volunteer and Training Coordinator role will play a key role in supporting the Youth Zone’s mission by managing the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers. The coordinator will also oversee the development and delivery of training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of all volunteers and staff.

Main Responsibilities:

Remuneration package

Pension: Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone operates a workplace pension scheme with Royal London for auto-enrolment purposes. You will contribute 5% of your gross earnings whilst the Youth Zone will contribute 3%. We are looking for a Societies Development Coordinator to provide accurate, consistent and innovative support to the 400+ clubs and societies, committees and volunteers. They will support the delivery of a variety of student led events and activities, empowering and enabling student leaders. This role will put students’ experience at the forefront of everything we do, focusing on providing excellent management of stakeholder relationships, problem solving and risk management with student activities.

The role is a full time and permanent contract. This role is based at our Bloomsbury campus with flexibility to work from home on a 40/60 basis (40% working from the office). 

Key Requirements

Do you have experience of organising and managing a variety of events; or enabling volunteers to deliver events? Do you have knowledge and understanding of student activities programmes including clubs, societies and volunteering?

We’re looking for an exemplary relationship and people manager with strong leadership skills to equip and support churches to deliver the Spear Programme in their local community. The role will be overseeing our centres in the North of England. 

The important stuff 

Salary: from £30,000 dependent on experience

Hours: 5 days per week (4 days considered), 9.30am - 5.30pm with occasional evening work for events such as our Spear Celebrations

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Home based role, with regular travel in the North and North-East of England. Fortnightly travel to our London office required (cost covered).

Person Specification 

• An active Christian, passionate about personally representing the values and beliefs of Resurgo, and our mission to equip and support organisations to play a meaningful part in the repair of our social fabric
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate confidently to a range of audiences, internally and externally, including demonstrable experience managing partnerships (e.g. churches and corporates)
• 3 years experience of line management and holding responsibility for others’ professional development and wellbeing
• Basic coaching ability including experience in group facilitation and 1-1 settings, and an ability to relate to a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent time management, organisation skills and initiative, with the ability to balance a range of varied tasks and prioritise accordingly
• High emotional intelligence, a desire to work as part of a close-knit team, and a sense of fun

Key Responsibilities

Support and Equip Church Partners
 

• Work with the wider Church Partnerships Team to meet key strategic goals to build social transformation across the church in the UK
• Manage working relationships with a caseload of partner churches to ensure programme delivery flourishes, that the church has ongoing support and feels connected to Resurgo, and has a vision for and feels ownership of the Spear programme in their community
• Liaise with church partners regarding any challenges they’re facing, providing strategic support and connecting them to the wider Resurgo team for further assistance around key challenges

Line Management, Team Training and Development of Spear Centre staff

• Support with the recruitment and induction of new Spear coaches, and manage Spear Centre Managers through regular 1-1s and helping them troubleshoot challenges
• Performance management of the Spear centres run in partnership with your caseload of churches through regular reviews, informal and structured feedback, session observations and reporting on KPIs
• Work with the Impact team to identify training needs, then design and run training initiatives to meet these needs, including all-team training days, role-specific training streams, and volunteer training
   

Active Participation in the Philanthropy and Wider Resurgo Mission

• Help build and develop Resurgo’s ethos and Christian life as a team member
• Lead and contribute to regular team prayer meetings as an integral part of Resurgo’s operation and for the success of its mission

You will be from a corporate fundraising or sales/business development background within the private, public or charitable sector. You will have a commercially-minded yet mission-driven approach grounded by experience in managing a supporter or sales pipeline, and of prioritising prospects to deliver the best return on investment. We would expect you to be comfortable with the need to achieve income generation-related targets. You will be a great communicator with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development and activities of the Wildlife Trust. 

To succeed and be happy in your role, you will enjoy making both face-to-face pitch presentations and writing successful fundraising or sales proposals – and, of course, contributing to our core purpose: to bring wildlife back, empower people to take action for nature and create a society where nature matter. This is a new role which will evolve following your appointment so you should be excited by the flexibility and opportunities to take an innovative approach.
