About the Role
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and Lebanon.
The Deputy Director of Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in advancing MAP's mission by leading and expanding our fundraising efforts across trusts and foundations, major donors and corporate partnerships in the UK and internationally. This senior leadership position requires a dynamic, strategic, and highly motivated individual with a proven track record in high-value fundraising and relationship management.
About You
You will have an understanding of the history and particular circumstances which face Palestinians, as well as a passion for the cause. You’ll have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies, and with a strong track record of securing major gifts, grants and corporate partnerships, you’ll take our partnership offering to a new level aiming for multi-year partnerships. You will use your excellent interpersonal and motivational leadership skills to develop and support team members to deliver their best work. Your exceptional communication skills and the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines will be valuable.

Duties and key responsibilities
Leadership, Strategy and Planning
•Build and inspire a high-performing, results-oriented team focused on delivering fundraising targets through tailored partnership plans
•Lead the development of the Philanthropy and Partnerships strategy, setting ambitious targets in line with the fundraising strategy and goals in the UK and globally.
•Collaborate with the Director and Heads of teams to develop team plans aligned with the Fundraising and Marketing strategy.
•Stay ahead of emerging trends and horizon scanning to ensure MAP’s philanthropy offering considers the latest developments.
Relationship Development and Management
•Cultivate and manage strong relationships with corporates, major donors, trust and foundation representatives to secure grants with a focus on multi-year partnerships.
•Develop and manage the portfolio of major donor prospects, creating tailored engagement plans to maximize their philanthropic potential.
•Lead stewardships events to bring the work to life and to connect supporters with MAP programme colleagues and medical volunteers.
•Collaborate with programmes and communications teams to ensure the team creates persuasive proposals, impactful reports, and engaging donor communications.
•Lead and be responsible for the due diligence procedure for new partners, as well as periodically ensuring that current partners still meet MAP’s guidelines.
Budgets, reporting and compliance
•Lead, create and manage annual and three-year rolling budgets working with programmes, communications and finance.
•Working with the Head of Fundraising Operations, provide reporting for the SMT and Board on a quarterly basis, and at a team level on a monthly basis, highlighting risks and opportunities and making necessary adjustments to ensure continued success.
•Ensure all grant applications and reports are submitted punctually and meet funders' requirements.

You will be working with supporters to answer their questions about legacy and in-memory giving, and working with the next of kin to ensure that their loved one's legacy is cherished.
We are looking for a creative thinker that has enthusiasm and motivation to lead these areas of work. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as being a collaborative team member. You will be supported by the Head of Public Fundraising to achieve transformational results across Individual Giving and Legacies. And ultimately you will be contributing towards changing the future for people living with Parkinson’s across the world.

Governance

Financial
Ensure that income is maintained, expenditure controlled in line with budgets and potential risks are identified and managed
Draw up an annual budget for approval by Trustees

Prepare contracts, apply for tenders, negotiate and agree contracts, service level agreements and acknowledge receipt of funds as required.

About the role

The successful post-holder will manage the entire partnership life-cycle from contract and grant acceptance to delivery, ensuring that KPIs are met, income is accurately recorded, and that all activities comply with the Fundraising Regulator guidelines, GDPR, VAT and other legal requirements.
Must haves:
·A proven track record in securing income from the corporate sector.
·Solid account management experience ideally a corporate partnerships environment.
·Ability to think creatively and problem solve autonomously and the awareness and understanding to successfully collaborate with colleagues.
·Excellent communication skills - both written and oral - you'll need to have the social skills and presence to communicate to a variety of audiences, including at Senior Leadership level.
·Great presentation skills.
·Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to establish long-term working relationships.
·Experience and ability to lead projects and manage project groups. Proven creatively in developing ideas to present to companies in support of a fundraising idea.
·Ability to spot opportunities, identify partners' needs and drivers and match these with the priorities of Adoption UK

Main duties & Responsibilities
Securing New Corporate Partnership Business
·To support in the creation of a new corporate fundraising strategy and subsequently implement this
·Develop resources, pitch decks and communications to attract new partnerships
·Identify, research and approach a pipeline of potential corporate partners, including those with existing links to employees, volunteers, trustees and members.
·Confidently pitch and write proposals to potential corporate partners, tailoring style and approach according to their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities
·Research and attend networking events and activities to support new income opportunities
Corporate Partnership Account Management
·Account-manage a portfolio of corporate partnerships, e.g. charity of the year, company sponsorship, staff fundraising, etc, ensuring mutually agreed partnership journeys are clearly planned and well executed
·Provide excellent stewardship of all current relationships including marketing and fundraising initiatives throughout the year
·Work closely with the Marketing lead to create innovative marketing plans for corporate partners to demonstrate Return on Investment
·Produce reports and presentations including activities and reach to convey the impact of partnerships
Working with the wider team to deliver income targets
·Work closely and collaboratively with the wider Income Generation and Support teams to deliver professional and on brand communications to partners
·Share expertise and knowledge with wider team and colleagues in different nations to support wider UK corporate fundraising asks
·Keep abreast of the work of the wider organisation
·Help organise events when required
·Contribute to general tasks when required

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organised and motivated person to join us in the fight against cancer. This pivotal role will oversee the day to day management of the charity alongside running effective fundraising campaigns.
At The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust, our mission is to enable our consultants and scientists to translate laboratory research into clinical trials and new life-saving treatments.
Each year we fund studies into a wide variety of cancers which include ovarian, lung, urological & melanoma. We are also the only charity in the UK funding research into Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, a rare cancer that occurs during or after pregnancy.
About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee the day to management of the charity, ensure effective fundraising activity, provide support for the Board of Trustees and facilitate the smooth running of the charity. As part of this you will ensure the accounts are prepared in a timely way with the assistance of our book keeper and accountants. You will also work with our web-designer to ensure the website is kept up to date and the annual charity report and return are prepared and submitted on-time.
You will oversee all fundraising activity including maintaining existing campaigns and our CRM system, and provide excellent stewardship to supporters, responding to enquiries, thanking them in a timely manner and supporting supporters with their fundraising activities. The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will focus on increasing donations from individual supporters. Working closely with the Head of Development and CEO, you'll be responsible for growing donation schemes for individual supporters, stewarding major donors, delivering public fundraising appeals and promoting opportunities for supporters to make gifts in wills.
We look to recruit a candidate excited to take responsibility for their own area of work as part of a small team. We will consider strong applicants with previous experience in fundraising / development or transferable skills and knowledge from customer-facing roles in other sectors.
This is a full time permanent position with a minimum of 3 days based on site. We are open to flexible working arrangements including part time working and compressed hours.
