You will maintain financial information (processing of purchase orders and invoices); you’ll update results for direct marketing activity; you’ll help with the running of the individual giving and legacy activity; you will support team members with digital aspects of campaigns (building and updating web pages, creating QR codes and tracking links) and you will get involved developing copywriting for digital.
This opportunity will also see you learn how to project manage digital direct acquisition campaigns (including for our RoomSponsor program) and you’ll be able to work with our Legacy Team too!
Who we are looking for
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual with some experience in Charity Fundraising; maybe you have been working in a role where your eye for detail has been a strength. Fundamentally you will have a passion for our cause and a desire to launch your career in a meaningful, fulfilling direction. We want someone who wants to learn, to help and to grow!

The organisation’s ability to deliver excellence in its service quality is dependent upon a skilled and competent workforce where learning and continuous improvement is a fundamental aim. Central to this role is the ability to work according to the organisation’s core values of:
- Respect
- Ambition: for young people, SLTH and ourselves as individuals
- Curiosity without judgment (about human and equine behaviours)
- Embrace difference: a variety of perspectives & life experiences are essential
- Embrace difficulty; it’s where the learning happens
- Commitment to always improving; & owning areas that improvement is required
Strength & Learning Through Horses has been in operation for over 10 years and has grown year on year in terms of income and number of young people reached and number of services we offer.
We have 5 full time and 8 part time contracted staff members, 18 freelance staff members and work with 15 volunteers. 400 – 500 young people per year benefit from our life changing services; our hope is that this will increase to 700+ per year from 2027 once the building project at our site is complete. We have ambitious longer-term plans for growth.
We have been operating in North London for over 10 years from a small stable, after our lease sadly came to an end in January 2023 we moved to our long term home. This was a derelict stable owned by the Council which we have secured via a 25 year lease. In 2022-23 we raised £300,000 to get the site usable as an equine therapy centre although it is still very run down with much of it boarded up a derelict. We now have full planning permission to develop the site and build a purpose-built equine therapy centre which will allow us to double the number of young people who access the space.
SLTH is British Horses Society (BHS) and Living Wage Employer accredited charity.

St Gabriel’s Church serves Pimlico as a religious and as a community centre. Our 2* listed building was built in 1853 and is the centre for worship and a range of community activities, including concerts and rehearsals. Today our roof needs to be renewed at a current cost of £1.4 million. This is the final major part of an extensive programme of renewal works which has included restoration of the clocktower and the church walls, renewal of the organ, installation of new lavatory and disabled access facilities, and major drainage refurbishment.
Your role would be to raise income from regional and national Trusts & Foundations, to be responsible for the effective management of a prospect pipeline and ensure that high-quality bids and evaluation reports are submitted to deadlines. The money raised will support the remaining phases of major building work at the church.
