This is a new role in the organisation and reflects an urgent requirement to collate, organise and manage a large volume of research, survey and other data collected by Freshwater Habitats Trust over the last four decades, the potential of which is not currently being fully realised.
It is critical that through the development of an organisational data strategy we can:
· Provide evidence of our research and advocacy.
· Showcase Freshwater Habitats Trust’s expertise.
· Facilitate effective teamwork within and between project and organisational teams.
· Enable efficient project delivery and public / partner engagement.
· Guide the strategic delivery of conservation projects through Important Freshwater Area analysis mapping and reporting.
The role will work closely with the strategic Research and Data Sub-Group of the Senior Management Team who are responsible for driving this work forwards.

However, given the dangers facing the natural world today, our community of nature enthusiasts has never been more needed. About the role
A thorough Membership Review was undertaken during 2024 to address several key Linnean Society objectives in the new strategy: (1) to grow, diversify and support our members to expand their capacity in support of our mission; (2) to develop income streams including philanthropy and legacies to ensure financial sustainability and expand our programmes; and (3) to mobilise our membership to be ambassadors and advocates for nature.
The appointment of this new post is one of the recommendations in the Review. The postholder will develop and implement a new membership and fundraising strategy that delivers the above Linnean Society strategic objectives, in consultation with the CEO. The Review will provide useful data and insights towards the delivery of these strategic objectives.
The post-holder will be responsible for membership development (acquisition, retention and advancement) of our community of members, comprising Fellows and Associates, and play a vital role in helping to build a vibrant, active and engaged community. They will also be responsible for developing a donor journey, including a clear and compelling case for support, and a legacy giving programme.
As this is a new role for the Linnean Society, the postholder will have the opportunity to have a real impact, helping to grow and protect the Society. They will report to the CEO and are expected to be a collaborative and active member of the Senior Management Team.
Main Duties
Strategic
- Working with the CEO and colleagues across the Society, the postholder will be responsible for developing and implementing a new Membership and Fundraising Strategy, with associated plans and budgets.
- Set, manage and monitor annual membership and fundraising plans and budgets – including activities, targets and return on investment – and provide quarterly reports.
- Develop the Linnean Society’s donor journey and ‘ladder of giving’, promoting giving from one-off donations through to higher level gifts and legacies.

We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Project Worker who will be based at our Cornerstone Day Centre, a community centre for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The project worker will actively promote and support the aims and objectives of the Cornerstone Health Hub and the Cornerstone Homeless Mental Health Project.
The Mental Health Project Worker will help to develop the service as a psychologically and trauma informed service, focusing on achieving mental health outcomes establishing positive, effective links and referral pathways with mental health services. You will work in the drop-in identifying people in need of mental health interventions, recognising when mental health is deteriorating, or urgent treatment is needed and will take appropriate action.
You will have a strength-based approach and experience of working in a community mental health setting with people who have complex needs and will contribute positively to the multi-disciplinary team.
Additionally, you must be a mental health nurse or have an equivalent professional mental health qualification along with excellent communication skills, good IT and administration skills with knowledge of effective mental health interventions and referral pathways.
The hours of the role are flexible but to be worked with the core working hours, 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Communications and Engagement to join the team and be part of the Senior Management Team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the charity's communications, focusing on building our profile as well as outreach to our growing community of member charities, businesses and strategic partners. You will ensure YWF's voice is impactful and authentic, blending creativity and strategy to elevate our organisation's presence and strengthen its relationships with young people, member organisations, the public and partners.
You will cover digital, events and external communications, working closely with the team. This is a permanent part-time role (3 or 4 days per week) with flexible working options.
This is a hands-on role working within a small and busy charity. The scope of the role is varied and will evolve as YWF continues to develop, but will broadly involve the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the CEO, create and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the charity’s work and to maximise opportunities of key partner engagement
- Take stock of our current communications activity and lead efforts to elevate the charity's visibility and profile, including reporting and acting on analytics from the various platforms
- Oversee and implement communications across all platforms, including digital, print, and events. This includes creating regular business and member newsletters, website updates and events comms
- Oversee branding and communication guidelines, ensuring that staff are supported to follow and adhere to them
- Working closely with our Business Development Lead to support corporate fundraising efforts
- Work with our Evaluation and Data Specialist to develop communications proposals and maximise the use of in-house and external data
- Work closely with the team to develop compelling stories and formats and align communications strategy with the charity's mission and objectives
- Work closely with the Westminster Youth Hubs supporting them in their marketing and communications, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing and helping build capacity
- Work closely with external agencies, including videographers and photographers, to create engaging content for YWF
- Work closely with our partner YPF Young K&C on the development of the OurCity Website
- Supporting the YWF Social media intern in the creation of content and templates aligned with brand guidelines, ensuring high quality is maintained
- Line Management of YWF staff
- Where appropriate, represent YWF at events
Who Are We Looking For?

- Proven experience in developing and executing communications strategies, content development and creation of campaigns, including culturally sensitive communications that resonate with diverse audiences

- Proven experience of managing social media accounts, websites and marketing tools including Canva and mailchimp

Salary

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international fundraising activities and support donor visits, events, and travel logistics.
- Provide administrative and communication support for our partnership with Abu Dhabi, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors, driving income generation and delivering exceptional supporter experiences.

The post of SAGE Director is demanding but interesting. You will manage a small team delivering therapeutic horticulture, arts and crafts and women-only singing groups for people with mental health issues.
