Community Fundraising Manager Jobs

The Finance Officer will be involved in all aspects of the charity’s financial operations, this is a very broad role. From handling small donations like a child’s pocket money right up to processing large grants.  You will be the first point of call for financial queries and questions arising from our team. You will process purchase and sales invoices, volunteer, and staff expenses.  You will support grant and other fundraising applications, process donations from a variety of different platforms, deal with gift aid and banking. You will need to be an analytical problem solver able to work on your own and as part of our team.

We understand that a spinal cord injury can be devastating, but we believe it shouldn’t prevent anyone from getting the most out of life. And we’re here to help make sure that can happen through our range of services that are designed by, and delivered for people affected by spinal cord injury.

As our Services Manager, you will oversee some of our most impactful delivery, including our Courses service, Vocation service, Digital services, and our award winning Mentoring service. You’ll be just as comfortable working alongside the team to problem solve as you are working with the leadership team on our business plans and budget management.

Reporting to the Head of Services and working with the Outreach & Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in the services leadership team.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and inspirational Charity Manager who will help build upon the 25 years of work Dressability has completed in the local community, altering and adapting clothing for people of all ages with learning and physical disabilities, and those with limited dexterity.

The Charity Manager will report directly to the Board of Trustees, and involve all aspects of running a successful charity. The successful candidate will share our passion for ensuring that people with disabilities and limited dexterity are able to dress independently wearing clothing of their choice.

Key elements of the Charity Manager role include strategy and business management, proven fundraising ability, staff and volunteer management, delivering quality services, and managing resources. Ambassadorial skills are key because the Charity Manager will be required to develop and maintain relationships with clients from a broad range of backgrounds, as well as health care professionals, businesses, suppliers and funders. As a small charity, we know that our people are critical to our success, so the ability to inspire and motivate others is essential.

Key Responsibilities

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

• Working with the Board of Trustees to develop, co-ordinate, and action the Charity’s strategy and business plan. Setting objectives and managing the challenges and conflicting priorities to ensure the viable running of the services we provide
• Ensure the Charity operates in accordance with the Charity Governance Code, its policies and procedures as well as best practices in order to fulfil all legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities
• Submitting accurate updates, annual returns and other necessary documents to the Charity Commission and Companies House
• Provide regular reports to the Board of Trustees, detailing operational performance, fundraising outcomes, and strategic initiatives

FUNDRAISING AND BUDGET MANAGEMENT

• Develop and execute fundraising strategies to support the organisation’s mission and growth objectives in conjunction with the Grants & Trusts Fundraiser
• Research, prepare and submit funding applications
• Source diverse income streams and funding to ensure long-term financial stability
• Handle the day-to-day finances of the organisation, managing bank accounts and investments and liaising with accountants and auditors
• Monitoring our income and expenditure against targets as laid out in the business plan
• Work with the Board of Trustees to set annual budgets and monitor spending
• Give external presentations showcasing Dressability’s work

OFFICE MANAGEMENT

• Day-to-day management of all paid employees and volunteers, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery
• Motivate and inspire staff and volunteers evaluating new projects and ways of working
• Main Office Manager and point of contact for employees, volunteers, trustees, visitors and those sharing the premises with Dressability
• Provide line management to the team, including monitoring standards, performance, the prioritisation of workloads, and conducting meetings with staff and volunteers as necessary
• Manage the recruitment of new employees, as well as securing a broad base of volunteers from the local community
• Manage health and safety on the premises as well as adherence to all policies and procedures
• Co-ordinate on-site events, including campaigns, meetings, press briefings, hosting visitors etc
• Liaise with the landlord for issues related to the shared premises

DELIVERING SERVICE QUALITY

• Develop standards and maintain the quality of the services Dressability provides
• Regularly monitor and evaluate the service to ensure quality and technical standards are met
• Establish new services for clients where appropriate such as outreach projects and access to services in clinical settings
• First point of contact for clients and team members when issues arise

Requirements

• Proven experience in day-to-day management of a diverse workforce, including both paid employees and volunteers, with strong leadership and team-building skills
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising campaigns and initiatives
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and inspiring both internal and external stakeholders
• Passion for our mission to ensure our clients with disabilities and the elderly are able to dress independently wearing clothing of their choice. Making a positive impact with our community projects
• Full, clean driving licence and access to own vehicle
• Some knowledge of sewing/dressmaking in order to provide guidance to the team
• Ability to multitask and prioritise the work of yourself and others
• To approach tasks with flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing dynamics
• Able to sponsor and promote Dressability’s aims and objectives to the community through events, campaigns, online promotions, social media, and traditional news media

About the role

The main purpose of this role is to develop and deliver our approach to maintain and grow corporate fundraising income, to support our mission to improve mental health in Hampshire. You will join us at an exciting time, having just launched our new three-year strategy, and this role is pivotal in helping us achieve our strategic ambitions in the years ahead.

The role is to lead the corporate fundraising activities for Solent Mind, which have grown significantly over the last five years. This will include maximising support through Charity of the Year relationships and participation in activities, events and challenges in aid of Solent Mind, and by securing one-off gifts in support of Solent Mind. You will research and build our corporate pipeline and support the delivery of our wider employer engagement which covers all aspects of employment engagement including fundraising, training and mental health employer service. 

This role is within Solent Mind’s fundraising and external engagement team, and the successful candidate will manage and be supported by the Corporate Fundraising Officer.

About you

You will be an experienced corporate fundraiser or have relevant relationship fundraising or B2B sales experience, together with a proven track record in meeting and exceeding financial and other targets. You will be an effective communicator with excellent written and presentation skills. You should possess good negotiating and influencing skills, as well as excellent relationship management skills, and be highly pro-active and skilled in generating new business leads and moving warm prospects through the ‘sales’ cycle. 

You will demonstrate the ability to motivate and develop your direct reports and will ideally have experience supervising both staff and volunteers.

Ashinaga UK is seeking a driven and well-organised Partnerships Manager to propel our fundraising efforts, with the goal of advancing the Ashinaga Africa Initiative by securing funding to create new scholarships and opportunities for orphaned youth. This role will play a key part in expanding our impact and supporting the education and leadership development of young leaders from sub-Saharan Africa.

The Ashinaga movement was founded in Japan in the 1960s and has since expanded across the globe, empowering over 110,000 orphaned youth with access to education and support to achieve their full potential. The Ashinaga Africa Initiative was launched 10 years ago with the aim of equipping future leaders for Africa through undergraduate scholarships and leadership development opportunities. Ashinaga UK is proud to be part of this global movement, contributing to the mission of transforming lives and communities through education. Our work is primarily in the UK through collaboration with key university partners and donors. 

The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for securing and building funding partnerships, overseeing external communications, and spearheading grant applications. The Partnerships Manager will work closely with the Managing Director. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Work with the Managing Director to develop and execute the fundraising strategy. 
• Manage existing funding partnerships and establish new relationships to further Ashinaga UK’s mission. 
• Secure partnerships with corporations, foundations, individual donors, and UK universities. 
• Identify new funding opportunities, cultivate relationships, write proposals, and report on progress. 
• Write high-quality grant proposals to secure funding from grant-making bodies. 
• Oversee the partnerships database, donor reporting, and contribute to the annual Charity Commission trustee report. 
• Create external communication materials, including website content and promotional materials. 
• Collaborate with key team members to develop partnerships related to scholarship programming and opportunities for scholarship recipients. 
• Plan and coordinate external-facing events, such as donor receptions, corporate sponsor events, and webinars to enhance engagement and raise awareness of Ashinaga UK's mission.

Essential Criteria 

• Right to work in the UK.
• Candidates must be based in the London area or able to commute. The role requires working from the office one to two days per week. 
• Proven track record in establishing and nurturing partnerships to advance a charity’s mission. 
• Strong experience forming and managing new funding partnerships successfully. 

Desired Criteria 

• Proven track record of leading successful fundraising projects and winning funding. 
• Ability to strategize and develop innovative approaches to engage potential donors and advance them along a partnership ladder. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences, including corporate partners, individual donors, and internal stakeholders. 
• Demonstrate experience in writing compelling proposals to secure funding from grant-making bodies. 
• Knowledge of the charity sector and fundraising regulations. 
• Experience fundraising within the international development, widening participation and/or education sector. 
• Experience planning and coordinating events, such as donor receptions, corporate sponsor events, and webinars. 
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organisational objectives. 
• Ability to create new or upgrade existing processes and structures to allow for the effective delivery of strategy. 
• Able to efficiently use a wide range of online tools, including spreadsheets, databases, and cloud-based applications. 
• Experience using CRM systems to manage and analyse data and produce reports. 
• Ability to work in French and/or Portuguese is a plus but not essential.

Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Technical Specialist, Enterprise. The primary focus of the role is to play a leading and strategic role in shaping and delivering Fauna & Flora’s work on enterprise development as a means for financing conservation and creating benefits for local partners, indigenous peoples, communities and other stakeholders across our global programme.

You will be a highly motivated and organised individual, looking to apply your advanced expertise in business and entrepreneurship to solve conservation challenges. You will have extensive technical skills in the incubation and scaling of enterprises, including business strategy, facilitation of international market access and leveraging private sector partnerships. You will have work experience in the private sector, including purpose-led enterprises.

You will have demonstrable experience in market research and analysis, business plan development, financial modelling, business valuation, and investment pitch deck creation.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the proven ability to liaise across teams and cultures as well as from rural entrepreneurs to companies and investors. You will enjoy applying your business skills to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language.

You will be an excellent communicator and comfortable team leader and player, able to motivate task-focused teams to successful outcomes.  You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines will be a key attribute.  

You should hold a relevant degree or equivalent level qualification or equivalent professional experience in business, finance, economics or other relevant discipline. You should be passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills. You will have considerable experience of applying your skills to a conservation, development or natural resource management context in less developed countries.

Fluency in English is essential, and French is highly desirable. Knowledge of languages relevant to Fauna & Flora’s work, such as Bahasa, Swahili, Russian, Portuguese or Spanish, will be highly valuable

Fauna & Flora is part of Cambridge Conservation Initiative in the David Attenborough Building, providing a great platform for collaboration with other conservation organisations and University of Cambridge departments and institutions. You will be joining a diverse team with global responsibilities and the role offers the opportunity to work within a ground-breaking and entrepreneurial organisation, at the forefront of global conservation.

This position will be based in Cambridge with international travel as required to meet project needs.

The Role

This role is all about people – connecting with church leaders and other individuals within church communities, sharing your passion for freedom of religion or belief through sermons, presentations and conversations to inspire others to take action. With experience in managing complex grants and delivering compelling, quality funder reports, you will ensure we meet and exceed donor requirements and expectations. Your organisation skills will enable you to manage and deliver funder requirements in line with accounting, fundraising and legal best practice. This role will work closely with the Fundraising Director and sits within the Fundraising Department.

The Head of Corporate Partnerships will lead our corporate partnerships team to achieve ambitious income (£2.5m in 2024-25 financial year) and strategic value targets for the organisation to grow urban forests and combat the effects of climate change. We are a rapidly growing and developing organisation that suits ambitious, dedicated and passionate staff.

The Fundraising team has delivered consistent, significant income growth this strategic period – and more is needed to address the increasing need for urban trees. We now look forward to our next strategy in 2025 for even more ambitious plans – join us!
